My grandpa has lived here for years. Not a nursing home! Independent living. He makes new friends, comes and goes as he pleases. So many activities. I believe this environment has kept him alive. He is 97 and sometimes grumpy at times but overall satisfied, happy and taken care of.

I have put off writing this review because I wanted to do it justice. Mom moved back to Indiana from a retirement community down south that had left her unsettled. So we were naturally concerned about this move. Right away we knew McKay was great, but over time we’d realize it is truly unique. The staff - their love, their dedication and compassion is what makes McKay MCKAY. They make the residents lives happier and fuller, which you see throughout. They know it is hard to see your loved ones grow old, yet they put both the residents and their families at ease by doing great work, all while having fun doing so. They know how to laugh and love. Mom will becoming up to a year at McKay and in that time I’ve seen how they are like a family to each other and have become an extended one to me. I don’t know how long this chapter of mom’s life will last, but knowing they are there for both mom and I makes it the best it can be. And for that I will be forever grateful. Bless you all! McKay manor is a wonderful independent living facility. The building is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. What really stands out, though, is the staff ” from the executive director to the cooks, activities director and housekeepers. Everyone is incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely cares about the residents. The residents themselves are wonderful and create such a warm, welcoming community. It truly feels like a place where people enjoy living and spending time together. Another major highlight is the excellent in-house outpatient therapy provided by Legacy Healthcare Services. Having convenient access to such high-quality, compassionate, and effective therapy right within the building is a tremendous benefit for residents. It’s clear that there is strong collaboration among everyone in the facility to ensure residents receive the best possible care and support. Overall, McKay Manor is a fantastic community filled with genuinely great people.

My sister has dementia, she was living alone and she was unhappy, and depressed. We talked to her for at least a year before she finally called me on a Friday evening and she was ready to move. I called Brian at home and started the ball rolling. Within 2,weeks she had moved. Her life has changed for the better, she gets involved, goes on outings and has made friends(thanks to the activities department). The most important thing is she’s not alone, she can go to her apartment to be alone when she’s tired or overwhelmed but there is always someone there to talk to or help her if she needs it. I can't say enough good things about McKay Manor. It is neat and clean and the rooms are very nice. They have lots of room and you don't feel cramped. My Dad has been living there for almost a year and is very pleased with his apartment. The staff are very accommodating especially the manager Bryan Davis. Bryan has gone out of his way several times to help my father when we needed help. They have lots of activities for the residents. They have a bus that also takes them to activities outside of McKay Manor. I highly recommend McKay for your loved one.

McKay Manor is a ‘top notch’ independent living facility. Their management, administrative, caring, nursing, cooking, repair staff are all amazing, professional, friendly, caring and duty bound to the residents there. The staffs love, affection and professionalism is a standard that all other such facilities can only hope to attain. Our brother in law dramatically improved during his stay at McKay Manor after he had suffered several strokes. We attribute his improvement to the wonderful diet, meticulous care, warm friendly atmosphere, bright cheery apartment, and community activities at McKay Manor. The environment there is uplifting. The building, grounds, rooms, rest rooms, well lit hallways, and the cafeteria are all freshly painted, with new carpets throughout. Brian and the staff there truly care for all the residents. They are all so friendly and encouraging to all the residents and visitors at McKay Manor. I would highly recommend McKay Manor to my own family and anyone else seeking a top notch independent living for themselves or a loved one. Totally satisfied customer.

We moved our mother to McKay Manor 6 months ago. She had just become a widow and was not thriving living alone. Since her move to McKay Manor her physical and mental health have improved significantly. She loves to show off her beautiful apartment. She was able to bring nearly all of her personal things and furniture from her condo and decorate as she pleases. She had physical therapy sessions and has a nurse practitioner care for her without leaving the facility. The entire staff and chef give wonderful care and encouragement. They truly show her love and she is safe there. The variety of activities are endless fun. She made several new friends and they enjoy their shopping trips together. Having to move my Dad out of his home of 60 years when our mother passed away is not something me or my family looked forward to doing. After being at McKay Manor for 9 months now I fine comfort in knowing we chose the right place. The facility is very nice, clean and well, kept. I feel it is a community where dad is treated as family. They have been very accommodating, caring ,and patient with dad. He had to spend a three week period away at care facility for rehab. Staff members from McKay Manor made multiple visit to the facility to see how dad was doing while he was there. I would highly recommend considering McKay Manor and their staff to care for your family member.

Great place to live life to its fullest!!! McKay is the best place for what we need. She has her independent living back and not just sitting in a little room like a mouse in a box and now she is flourishing. I can tell a big difference in her from living in "assisted living" to independent living. I highly recommend McKay especially when you're still able to do it all on your own. It’s quiet no alarms going off and it’s a great atmosphere all together!! Well let's just say also the price is so so much better for more "living" space and being able to call it home!!! All the people that work there are great,the activities, socializing, and not to mention the three meals you get everyday as well. With that being said in your own apartment you can cook, use a microwave you have the full size refrigerator and if you don't want to eat in the dining room at that time you can fix whatever you want in your room if you want. The options are there!! I'd say check it out before going to any "assisted living" this is SENIOR LIVING at its BEST!!!! Seniors don’t need to just sit in a room and stare at the same 4 walls they need to live and this is living. Living in their own apartment! It’s home!!

I have been in McKay a dozen times, each month, for the last six months. I am always welcomed with smiling and helpful hearts by the staff. The residents are always together chatting, playing bingo, playing cards, or sitting out on the beautiful front porch.
