My mother has been a resident of Merrill Gardens at Kirkland for many years now and I can honestly say the staff there treat her (and me) like family. Even when I'm traveling or out of town if there is an emergency, I have peace of mind that the incredible staff members like Dawn in Housekeeping, Evan & Kaylee at the Front Desk, Mhike in Transportation/Concierge and Homaira in Community Relations will take of anything we may need. The renovations are nice, but it is 100% the staff that makes this place so special.

I am a professional in the area can honestly say that Merrill Gardens is an excellent community! They have a nice homelike feel and the staff is amazing! They truly care for their residents as if they are family. If you haven't done so yet, I highly encourage you to visit this community and see their new renovations!!

If you are looking for a senior community in Kirkland, Merrill Gardens is a great choice. My mother-in-law has had a wonderful experience in her independent living apartment. Her apartment is spacious and overlooks a beautiful garden. She loves the dine when you want to model in the dining room! She also loves happy hour on Fridays, with featured musicians/performers. Leadership is strong under Brian and the front desk team (Yvonne, Caroline, Evan) are lovely. The dining room is open concept in the lobby, which has been beautifully remodeled. Movie theater, activities, trips, and kind, caring staff. Nestled in downtown Kirkland, it’s a short walk to the waterfront. Restaurants abound! The library and the Kirkland Performing Arts Center are a few blocks away. We appreciate Merrill Gardens!

I have only been at Merrill gardens for one month. What a month it has been!. I’m near my son and his family, I feel SAFE which is wonderful, I am surrounded by friends and staff who make my life so much better and my mind is nourished. The final thing I will say is that Merrill Gardens Kirkland WA gets a 100% review on location! Wineries, restaurants, shops are just steps away.

Mom’s caregivers (Janni and Anna) are kind, positive, responsive and thorough. They give Mom confidence in her recovery. I appreciate new management’s willingness to add this kind of in-house care, amp up activities and hire a new chef. This goes a long way towards making our family more relaxed about Mom’s experience. The Kirkland location is great. The staff works hard and is very friendly. The food is not great. My suggestion would be to skip the gourmet’ title and go for good, basic home cooking. The cleaning is a lick and a promise. I have no idea why a man runs that department. The rooms are good but getting hold of maintenance is not easy.Covid response was good. Glad we moved closer to keep an eye on things and supplement the gaps.

Subject: Google Review for Monica Le | Community Relations Director My Mom was looking for an Independent Living community on the Eastside and so we checked out Merrill Gardens downtown Kirkland and that is where we met Monica Le “ Community Relations Director. Monica was extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable and gave us a comprehensive tour of the community and just made my Mom feel so at home. My Mom felt so comfortable with the community and I can’t thank Monica enough for her thoughtfulness, patience and professionalism over the 2 and a half years my Mom resided at Merrill Gardens. Unfortunately my Mom passed away May of this year and Monica was so instrumental in helping match up our family with new residents that needed furniture and she was so extremely helpful thoughout the entire time my Mom lived there and after. Merrill Gardens honored my Mom with beautiful flowers and a memorium. Monica is absolutely perfect for the Independent Living community industry and is such an incredible asset to the Merrill Gardens organization. We recently moved our 92 year mother, a lifelong Kirkland resident in to Merrill Gardens. Although transitions at this stage of life are difficult, she is thriving and enjoying her new home. It was a natural fit with respect to location, personnel and the wide variety of activities. The staff is very caring and compassionate. Monica Le, Community Relations Director is the "real deal". Her ability to provide individual, personalized attention to the residents makes Merrill Gardens feel like home. From the front desk to finances and the wonderful kitchen staff, we could not be happier!

My mom was very hesitant to move out of her home into a retirement community. She is 96 and very independent. It took a few months to get acquainted with her new environment and all that Merrill Gardens offered. Monica Le has been so helpful in encouraging her to join in the activities and keeping her involved. The new manager Reza, is more visible and adding new features to add to the enjoyment of the residents. A friendly, active community that cares for the residents.

Family atmosphere, highly personalized service Every one of the team members really makes you feel like part of a family. The staff genuinely cares and looks out for the residents and goes above and beyond to form relationships with them and their visiting family members. I can't count the number of times a staff member has made eye contact with me across the huge first floor as I am entering the building and waved or yelled hi -- my mom hasn't been settled in for very long at all so they barely know me. Leadership such as the General Manager Reza, but especially the Community Director Monica, are hyper-focused every day on the residents having a comfortable and engaging stay. Monica has answers or an expert she can refer you to for EVERY question imaginable. Monica also personally checks in on my mom regularly to help her acclimate, given she just recently moved in.

We recently moved my in-laws into Merrill Gardens Kirkland (82- and 86-year-old) They are very independent but were seeking more activity and social connections. They were nervous about the transition but overall it’s been great to see them thriving with the additional activity and opportunities to sit and talk with other residents at meals and in the beautiful light filled main floor living room. Merrill Gardens Kirkland is an ideal location being centered in downtown Kirkland so that they can take neighborhood strolls or visit restaurants, library, Marina Park. Merrill Gardens has a very warm and supportive staff, everyone there is so friendly. Monica is a wonderful community connector and went out of her way to connect them to other residents. Communication with residents and their families is fabulous and the staff are very responsive to any questions.

I relocated my Uncle from CA to Merrill Gardens Kirkland near me about 16 months ago. He could not be happier - this team helped us both so much with information leading up to the move and made every effort to help him settle in during some of the darkest days of COVID. Overall, it’s been great for my mom. She says the food is good, other residents are interesting and friendly, activities are fun. Moving in was very stressful. Only one elevator was working and the manager told the movers that they had to give presidence to the residents. This meant it took the movers several extra hours and it cost $700 extra (they actually could have charged $1500 extra but took pity on my mom). In retrospect, MG should have not allowed the move with one elevator or paid the difference.

My father has been at Merrill gardens now for almost 3 years. It’s been a perfect fit for him. The staff handled Covid amazingly. They were thoughtful and make sure all the residents were taken care of. The facility is spotless, all of the staff is terrific, and he enjoys the residents and the location. Highly recommend

Merrill Gardens Kirkland is a a lovely location. Everyone who works here is top notch. I am taking off two stars because the food here is truly awful. Several years ago the food was good. The amount of money that they are willing to spend on food has not kept pace with inflation and the annual increases in rent.

We moved an 81 year old relative into Merrill Gardens about a month ago and our experience so far has been very impressive. The staff there is just wonderful - everyone we have encountered so far has gone out of their way to make us and their new resident welcome and informed. The facility, itself, is first rate and the downtown Kirkland location is perfect. There is plenty of things to do and see in walking distance (even with a walker) and the park on the Lake Washington is only two blocks away. Merrill also organizes daily activities including short excursions which is a big plus. We moved her into studio apartment with a nice patio and it has everything she needs. But the fact that she now does not have to worry about preparing her own food takes so much pressure off (and she seems to love the food). All in all, if you are looking for a Senior Living facility be sure to put this on the list and check it out in person.

Merrill Gardens Kirkland is a wonderful place. First and foremost, the location cannot be beat. Being in the heart of Kirkland everything is within an easy walk. The actual facility is very nice. My parents room is spacious and comfortable. They moved into the facility in September. Due to the pandemic, there was a very challenging period of adjustment for everyone. The staff at Merrill Gardens did everything they could to ease the transition. Once settled in, my parents have been extremely happy and are enjoying their lives at Merrill Gardens. One staff member in particular deserves recognition and her name is Monica Le. She is a gem; always willing to assist in any way she can to solve any issue that may arise; and always with a smile on her face or mirth in her voice. She is a joy to engage and a tremendous asset to the facility.
