What a whirlwind the last year this has been for me and my family! My mother was placed in memory care a year ago , Hated that place , the care and standards were terrible it was dank and dirty , But, We were locked into a lease agreement which was a nightmare.. Finnaly it ended in April of this year and we moved my mom to Anchor Bay pocassett.. The difference is apparent the minute you walk in the door ! First of all it's so clean and fresh and bright and Modern , Everyone is so helpful and caring . A special shout out to Jen Burns who got my mom in the Memory care unit , She was no nonsense all the way , extremely professional and made it smooth and easyband fast along with answering all my concerns and questions, Thak you Jen ! As for the memory care area , the staff is fantastic and really pay attention to detail and doing Thier job the right way , Connie the head Nurse is also amazing and put me at ease right away , had a plan for my mom and all went smooth , I trust her fully along with the staff and can Finnaly sleep at night ! They attend to each resident asap with whatever they need , And do everything with kind words and a smile and a soft spoken manner always gentle ! It's also bright , Modern ! It's spotless clean with a giant outdoor beautiful sitting area in nice weather ! The food is amazing and healthy and it seems they have thought of everything here ! So, It just feels good in there and you know your loved one is in great hands ! They say better late then never , I am happy that my mom is at Anchor Bay pocassett Now , We absolutely made the right decision placing her in there

I am enjoying Anchor Bay Pocasset very much. One month has sped by. People are very welcoming and my stress level has dropped immensely from my previous location which felt like a hospital and was top-heavy w manager positions and function rooms. I know I will meet many more people and become more involved as time goes by. Thank you all!

Highly recommend this facility. Mom was in the memory care section and she was happier than we had seen her in many years. The nurses and staff were fabulous so we never had any worries about her care. The facility was clean and the meals/snacks were very good. The activities were great and mom participated and enjoyed all the games and festivities.

I highly recommend Anchor Bay Memory Care Unit. The team, the front office, the entire staff (nurses, nurses aides, cleaners and more) have and exhibit compassion. I apologize for not knowing more names, but I acknowledge Robin and Connie for setting the foundation for Cheryl’s care. This important foundation is what the staff builds upon. Residents in memory care are seen and have their needs tended to throughout the day, from morning routines getting them ready to participate in daily activities and until everyone is tucked in at night. They are met each day with hearts and hands to help make the best of their day ahead. I believe the best health care comes from those who have answered a calling. I for one (and I know my family agrees) saw this caring first hand. Our dearest sister and mother experienced the comfort and more contentment in her day because of their kindness, compassion and professionalism. Thank you to each and every member of the team who work in the Memory Care Unit. You too are seen and respected. You are gifts to us and to your residents. Thank you. Deborah Bassett

This place is a Rhode Island gem!!! Clean, clean, clean, and with a staff that seems to enjoy coming to work! The "aura" that passes amoung the staff and residents is palpable. Three of my friends reside there and they love it (please, please, save room for me)! Do not hesitate to visit and be sure to ask for Mathew Olsen, (speaking of gems), to show you around. Matt will give you all the time in the world--we spent most of the day-- and never felt rushed or condescended to. My friends went back today (it IS a major decision after all), and I was told that Matt repeated yesterday's visit without a shred of impatience. Be sure to get a gander at the menu and the list of daily activities--wowee! No, no, I do NOT know the person that owns this establishment, nor am I being paid for this "love letter" regarding my impressions of Anchor Bay. M. A. Chappell, Wakefield, RI

My mom has been living independently at Anchor Bay for just over five years now. We are so pleased with the staff and services! The team from Right at Home who bring mom her meds in the morning and evening, Cheryl and Dawn (who answer the phones), Laurie (who coordinates EVERYTHING), Michelle (who directs the choir), AnneMarie (who does Mom's hair), John (who drives Mom to some of her appointments) and Misty and Nathan (who keep Mom's apartment clean), are just a few shining stars among the staff of dedicated, kind-hearted professionals who have made my mother feel happy and at home at Anchor Bay. The Christmas Parties are amazing. The weekly concerts, monthly birthday celebrations, and yearly talent shows are super fun. The movies, book clubs, walking club, companions at meals, community, and gorgeous grounds all add to the wonderful experience that my mom is having in her new home. Top all that off with the peace of mind my family has that Mom is being cared for and looked after, all while living independently. Thank you Anchor Bay!

Went to visit for a possible placement for a family member. Met with Jen Burns who gave me a tour of the memory care area of the facility. Jen is extremely knowledgeable and her years of experience were evident during our conversation. Her empathy and compassion really helped during a time when folks are making difficult decisions. Ms. Burns is a person who puts the “human” in human services. Good people. Thank you Anchor Bay and thank you Ms. Burns. Regards, Joe Bishop

My sister Diane has been a part of the independent living community for over nine years and cannot say enough about the facility, residents, staff and especially the food. Robin, Executive Director, and her team work hard to help ensure the safety, comfort and overall satisfaction of the residents in a professional yet caring manner. Based on my sister's prior experience at other living centers, Anchor Bay ranks at the top in cleanliness, safety, on-going events, food and an excellent staff.

Recently, a family member moved to Anchor Bay at Pocasset. The apartment seems to be nice and the people very pleasant. However, the main concern I am hearing from those living there is that the quality of the food is poor. I post this because this is an important issue that can/should be fixed immediately. Serving quality food is very important to the well being of those in your charge as well as a huge part of what these seniors are paying Anchor Bay for. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

From what I can see, it seems to be a pretty nice place compared to a lot of other assisted living facilities I have seen around Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I visited only briefly in January of 2022, place seems clean no odd smells, residents seem relatively happy.

I am very pleased with the choice, my Aunt Marie made in February, 2020, selecting to reside at the independent living at Anchor Bay at Pocasset. She is very happy and comfortable in her apartment. The food is very good. The staff here is wonderful, friendly, and hardworking. Anchor Bay at Pocasset is very well maintained inside and outside. I would like to thank, Robin Pimental, for all the notifications concerning the Corona Virus Pandemic, and safety of all the residents. I would also like to thank Denise Moio-Touchetye, for her caring and thoughtfulness for the residents.

Where do I begin...My mom died suddenly and we needed a place for our dad to be safe and happy in almost an instant. We went to lunch twice in one week w/dad in the restaurant and again looked at the various available rooms. The staff was so patient w us and very helpful as we worked diligently to convince our dad this was the place he needed to be. Well fast forward 3 years and my dad couldn't be happier! He is getting more exercise now walking the corridors to and from the elevator with his walker and couldn't be happier with all the friends he has made and the daily activities he takes part in. The transportation they provide is a big plus as we don't have to take time off from work to bring him to doctor's visits, and as you know once you pass 90 you have many!! The cleanliness of Anchor Bay is a 10+, the facility itself beautiful and staff are always so pleasant. Safety and security during Covid has been top notch as they are following strict RIDOH guidelines and have kept all residents HAPPY AND SAFE while the facility still is operating under restrictions per guidelines. Families are given regular weekly Covid updates by the director, Robin Pimental, via email which reassures us our dad continues on his daily activities and continues to be safe. If there has been a question or concern in the past w dad, Robin has promptly called us back to answer any questions we have had. So, as you can see we are extremely happy our dad resides at Anchor Bay and now at 91 he believes in longevity and looking forward to one day becoming a centenarian!!

I have been visiting a friend at Anchor Bay for over five years. When I arrive I feel welcomed immediately by Cheryl, so consistently kind at the front desk. Her genuine, authentic concern is always felt by visitors and residents whether on the phone or in person. How fortunate for Anchor Bay to have such a caring employee. I can’t speak too highly of her! And I’ve observed many other caring employees like Michelle whose kindness and sensitivity is so evident especially to those who struggle, to Kim who is quick to return emails and help with various concerns, to AnneMarie in the beauty salon who gives such personal attention as she accommodates residents even when this may be challenging. My special gratitude goes to the workers whose kindnesses I hear about from my friend. Although she can’t remember their names, she does remember how they have made her feel. Blessings to all of you!

Anchor Bay provides its residents with a safe, caring, nurturing, and compassionate home. Both the Independent Living facility and the Assisted Living facility provide great comfort and care to its residents and their families. Throughout the years, its director, Robin Pimental, has led her staff to assist residents in a highly professional way with integrity and a clear vision to provide the best care possible. Both facilities, Independent Living and Assisted Living, are beautifully decorated, clean, and spacious. Every staff member has gone above and beyond to ensure that the residents are comfortable, safe, healthy, and cared for. Anchor Bay’s office staff, Kim and Cheryl, have gone to great lengths to handle the administrative day-to-day needs of the residents and their families. Kim is always on task with requested paperwork and administrative needs, and no matter how many times I call Cheryl on any given day, she is always pleasant and helpful. Tammi, Joanne, and Donna, on the Assisted Living unit, are available at all times to ensure that the nursing staff in that facility is attentive to the resident’s needs as well as to their family’s concerns. I cannot say enough about the great care that Anchor Bay, both the Independent Living facility and the Assisted Living facility, provides to its residents and their families. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend either facility to my family or friends. They’ve done an excellent job in caring for our loved one.

I would like to acknowledge two persons in particular at Anchor Bay who had gone above the call of duty. First, a shout-out to Laurie Spicuzza. I had downloaded pictures of my garden and posted them on Life Loop. Laurie created a beautiful collage of the pics and gave it to my mom. She was so thrilled to receive this! Second shout-out: On a recent Sunday, I had scheduled a FaceTime with my mom. We were having difficulty connecting. Realizing I don't have FaceTime on my phone, the attendant, (I believe his name was Dan) suggested Zoom, which I do have. He gave me the password and we connected. He stayed by my mom the whole time making sure she could hear everything that was being said. He was such a great help! Thanks to all at Anchor Bay for being so kind and patient with my mom and giving her such great care!

I started at Anchor Bay in March just before the height of COVID. The precautions taken for the safety of the residents has been exceptional. Seeing the residents now being able to visit outside with family, get their hair done, sit outside for fresh air and finally having lunch with their friends has been wonderful. Definitely glad I joined this amazing group of people who all care so much for the community.

My Dad has lived in the community at Anchor at Pocasset for nearly three years. The entire staff has treated him with respect and dignity. I want to recognize several individuals who truly have stood out in my Dad’s daily life here. Laurie has given Dad much needed assistance helping him log into his congregation meetings before leaving at the end of her work day. This has been a lifeline to his well being. Dan also has given him a tremendous amount of help in setting up his new iPad so that he could have contact with friends and meetings on Zoom. He also takes time with Dad and has forged a nice friendship with him, which I appreciate greatly. John, Michelle, and many others have been so kind and have worked tirelessly in making our visits to him really count and his day to day life very enjoyable. I’m so glad that Dad is at Anchor Bay all Pocasset. You are a top notch team. Thank you all for you do.

Dear Pocasset staff , I realize the Pocasset team has had to wear multiply hats since beginning of March and have worked tirelessly to serve each resident their own needs . For example , delivering their breakfast , lunch and dinner . I like to commend and acknowledge a few of the staff members: Dan in activities goes above and beyond to please the residents and is attention to detail oriented . He knows how my mom rolls and is very eager to lend her a hand in any way he can ! 🙂 Cheryl the head waitress , during the confinement to their apartments when the height of corona was in March and April , Cheryl always goes above and beyond to check in on mom . Mom is a lot like her , very organized. Cheryl knows exactly what mom is thinking and how to respond to her ! Kim the office manager , she is always there to great you with a giant warm smile I always feel secure knowing I can reach out to her in short notice . Kim knows how to act quickly and provide solutions ! Michelle - house keeping / - Jack of all Trades . Michelle will go out of her way to help mom. When my mom has made trips to the hospital . She knows how to make Dolores smile with her extra love setting up her apartment upon coming back . Vanessa - what can I say about Vanessa . This is one caring soul !!! . She works tirelessly to clean all the residents rooms . As we know , this is probably one of the hardest jobs . Laurie - activity director . She has such a pleasant disposition and knows how to motivate the residents to do fun stuff . She truly loves making them smile ! May - waitress - We all know May works so so hard to please and serve all the residents . As we know , not every resident is easy , but May makes it look effortless . James maintenance , always willing to help the residents with a smile !!! I like it give a shout out to Dawn , Cheryl , Maura for answering the phones and being in the first line of Fire . Always there to help my mom in a pitch !! Genevie and her sweet daughter - I am sure they have walked back and forth from my moms room a lot with all the packages :))) always have a giant smile on their face !! Donna in activities - she has been here a very long time . She’s known my mom for 10 years in December . Carol in assistant living - The residents are so fortunate to have her !! She takes her time with the residents and has incredible patience. Liz - the new kid on the block - knows who needs what and when :)) . She has it going on ! . I can go on and on . I know I have missed many more staff members. Just know I don’t take all what you do for granted . All your endless love will never go unnoticed !

My mother has been a resident in the independent living at Anchor Bay at Pocasset for 3 years. During that time, she has made many friends, has become involved in many wonderful activities such as singing in the chorus, traveling throughout the state on weekly bus rides, cooking, bingo, walking, planting, and art classes. She enjoys going to daily exercise classes, and game activities. She enjoys the weekly variety of musicians that come and entertain, and resident dancing, the theme parties like Kentucky Derby hat parade, Super Bowl party, New Years Eve Party, and movie days complete with popcorn! I enjoy the annual Christmas party which provides holiday music, food and drinks for everyone. Her apartment is so adorable, complete with a pretty patio , and is so safe, easy, and spotless due to the excellent cleaning staff! The entire staff at Anchor Bay is outstanding. First, for making my mother feel secure and comfortable when she arrived, engaging her in all the activities, pairing her with people that have become her dearest friends, and providing a beautiful place to socialize. Second, in any matter, whether small or serious, the staff is professional, thoughtful, and communication with the family is immediate and courteous. The maintenance staff is absolutely awesome! Whenever she needs anything, they are so happy to hang a picture, move furniture, and especially help with the cable services! Last, but not least, I am so awestruck at the way the entire staff has handled the Coronavirus pandemic! During this stressful time, they have kept the residents safe from harm, lovingly cared for them, and continued to keep me and my family informed through weekly notices, and now providing social distance visits. The protocol that they have followed should be applauded and staff should be honored! The entire staff is wonderful! It is so hard to single out one person! A special kudos goes to Danny, Michelle, Donna ,and Kim!
