Thompson Meadows apartment feedback Thompson Meadows is not just another run of the mill apartment complex for seniors age fifty-five and up, more-so it seems to be a destination for people in their later lifetime that desire peace and tranquility. I have been renting now since 2016 when I sold my house, and I cannot express how happy I am to have finally discovered Thompson Meadows. Not only is the property complex itself an awesome place to live, but the property manager herself, “Valarie”, is everything you could possibly wish for. She does not just manage the property itself, but also looks out for and cares about the tenants in the complex itself. I could make out a list of the positive experiences I have had since I moved in, but she never stops trying to make this a better place for all that reside here. She is sincerely interested in the welfare of the entire population in this residence. To start with, the complex is located near the intersection of Kinnickinnic and Howard avenues in the City of Saint Francis, but not visible from those streets because it is surrounded by a dense forest like area, which includes wild turkeys and even deer at times, and song birds in abundance. And, if you go three blocks to the South of the apartments, you’ll discover Greene Park, a very large, very heavily forested area, also filled with abundant wildlife, A tennis Court, a softball field, and playgrounds. To the East, about a half a mile away is Lake Michigan, with walking paths alongside the lake itself. Directly across the street is the Lake Presbyterian Cemetery, a historic icon dating back to burials from around 1848, and a quiet place to sit and enjoy the quiet. This cemetery was founded from a land donation from Jared Thompson, after which this apartment complex was named after. Then you have the Saint Francis Civic Center nearby, within walking distance. This complex houses the Police and Fire Departments, along with the mayor’s office and all of the Saint Francis City offices. The Saint Francis library is also nearby, and also within walking distance. The property itself is well maintained, and the building itself has a sprinkler and intercom system. The apartments themselves are modernized, each with a large air-conditioning unit, that adequately cools the entire apartment, and each room has its own electric heater with individual thermostat controls. The building is currently under carpeting renovation on all three floors, presently doing the third-floor hallways, and the individual apartments, when/if they become vacant, so as not to disturb the tenants. There is also a very good size library on the third floor, and a billiard room in the making. Each floor has its own laundry room, each with three washers and three dryers, more than adequate for the tenant population. There is also a very reliable elevator in the center of the building, along with staircases at the end of each of the hallways. The first floor also has a large conference room that features a very large television, and kitchen and both available to all the residents. There is also plenty of off-street parking available for the residents, and their guests, included with the apartment. There are also multiple grocery and shopping centers nearby within a two-or-three-mile radius, including, Pick & Save, Walmart, Piggly Wigley, Dollar Tree, and many others. The trash and recycling dumpsters outside are emptied at least twice a week, so never since I have lived here has there ever been a time with trash scattered around the area, the entire perimeter is kept in a clean and orderly condition. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about my experience living here at Thompson Meadows. I just recently met a lady named Guadalupe here at the apartment, she had moved out about seven months ago, and she just moved back into the complex after her hiatus. So, I would say; “the grass is NOT always greener on the other side of the fence”. Lastly, the price for the apartments is well with reason, you’ll have to come and see the place for yourself, well worthwhile. Ron Kurszewski

I called to inquire about Thompson Meadows about possible housing. A rude man by the name of Mike answered the phone. I tried to ask him questions about the facility. He was very short and condensing when answering simple questions like is this Section 8 or subsity housing. He claimed they were both, yet my understanding is they are two different types of housing. Section 8 is paid by a volucher and is privately owned, subsity housing is based upon your income and owned and operated by the government. I was told you can not be governmentally and privately owned, yet he claims they are both. I did not like attempting to get questions answered by such a rude non helpful person. I need to know if you can be Section 8 and subsity housing at the same time . When a possible client calls they should be treated with respect and kindness, not a rude disconcerned Mike.

Not a nice place they rip off old people ,you must give 2 months notice .but don't get any. Money back when they rent before your two months are up

Thompson Meadows is nice ,but needs improvements ,they loss power there alot ,and there is no emergency lighting in the hallways or stairwells,which makes it very dangerous when the power goes out ,because so does the elevator!

I have a friend that lives there, they do allow small dogs and cats are also welcome BUT just like any other apartment building you get alot of different types of people and personalities The good, The bad, and of course the nosey! And because it is senior living they have all the time in the world to watch out the Windows and peep holes to see who is coming and going. They allow small pets to live in the building but if you have a visitor with a small dog there is a 2hr time limit for them THAT IS INSANE!!!! You wouldnt think that the older people would run and tattle like two year olds but they do it would be so much better if they would just mind their own business so sadly I could never live in a place like that I feel thar as long as I pay my rent on time what I do and who I have in my house is my business

The front entrance on Norwich is easily marked. I had an appointment and waited approx 10 minutes for manager to meet me and unlock entrance door. The manager was very friendly and throughout appointment remained warm. The building itself was very warm in temperature. The areas I saw were in clean condition. The atmosphere quiet. I viewed two apartments in move in appearance with more floor space than anticipated. Cabinets and closets were compatible for a couple to use. The parking lot was not assigned parking spaces but tenants could speak to manager about paid reserved spots. The tenants observed were white haired and definitely retired. I noted a wheelchair used by one tenant. I was observed and sensed indifference to my presence. I left Thompson Meadows with sense I would feel like a misfit. Too young to feel at home there.

Love It!! Beautiful apartment, beautiful surroundings, and many extras, including personal garden plots!! Plus, the management folks are incredibly nice, care about all the tenants, and are completely, thoroughly efficient. Its a grand place to be!
