Horrible horrible place. Don t ever send your loved ones here. They hire contract workers who d rather play on their phones. They would ve killed our mother if we hadn't removed her ourselves. Worst rehab that our mother was at and we ve been to several!

Do not consider this memory care facility for your loved one! Our dad went from using a walker and needing assistance with dressing and toileting/showering to being wheelchair bound, in four short months. It appeared easier for the staff to let him sit all day and push him around in his chair to get him to meals, instead of taking the time to work with him. He did not receive showers/shaves and wore depends 24/7. He developed five pressure sores from sitting and he was bruised and cut from being pulled by the staff as they moved him. He was left to doze by himself throughout the day. There was no assistance at meal times. There were no mental stimulation programs or any attempt at socializing with others. When staff was questioned, they would tell us things were going well. Dad had outside care come in for physical therapy and for his new wounds and it was the outside therapist that alerted us to the severity of our dad’s decline in health. We made the decision to transfer him out to another facility after just four months. If you choose to visit this memory care wing, ask to come at a time when meals are being served to witness the lack of care the residents receive. Come a second time, after lunch, and sit with the residents watching TV and see the lack of interaction among staff and residents. Request a third visit to observe any planned activities that residents are engaged in. If you are convinced that this facility will treat your loved one with dignity and respect, be sure to get a written care plan in place and do not assume the plan is being followed. Do not be fooled into believing this facility will offer the care you were promised. They are not trained and are not invested in providing a comfortable, stimulating, and safe environment.

My mom spend 3 weeks at Ascension Lakeshore. This rehab is the best. They took such good care of my mom. Lots of compassion. The nursing assistants are the unsung hero's. They have a tough job. Kevin and Veronica were awesome. Highly recommend.

The process we experienced leading up to today was difficult and stressful but once she received approval and we are actually in the facility the staff exceeded our expectations. My Mom is in there and for the most part everything is fine. The nurse that she has Ana is the best!! My Mom can't do anything for herself and there are times where they don't put the call button by her when she goes to bed. We have brought our reservations to the right people. I know there are more than just my Mom there, but this hard for us having her there and it's hard on her too. We are very pleased with her therapy though.

Our mother-mother-in-law has resided at Shorelight Memory Care for more than 16 months. Our entire family is more than pleased with the care she is receiving. She is comfortable and secure in her surroundings. We visit her often and when we have concerns the staff is quick to accommodate us or find new ways to adapt to Moms needs.The facility is bright and full of activity on a daily basis. The staff is kind, compassionate and adaptable to the many residents and their individual issues and needs that fall under the huge and challenging umbrella of memory lossThe programming (including music, art, dance, crafts, visiting canines, and a myriad of other entertainment brought to the facility) is stimulating and enjoyed by residents and their families on a regular basisWe have nothing but positive raves for the staff of Shorelight Angels who lovingly care for and guide our mom through her days at this wonderful facility located on the shores of Lake Michigan.

The residents really become like family and are such a pleasure to care forWorking at Shorelight has been an enriching experience. My husband has had the privilege of visiting our campus and had an excellent experience which shows that all who walk through our doors are treated with respect.
