We have been VERY happy with the services of Always Best Care. We felt confident from the beginning when they came to visit our apartment and find out our specific needs. All of the caretakers have been prompt, professional, solicitous and have become great friends to us.

As a nurse myself, I had to find in home care for my dad after my mom recently passed away. I remember Colleen fondly, and she is amazing. She is diligent, kind, and truly empathetic. As we navigated Dad's care through the grieving process while time passed by, we noticed a lack of continuity of care, a lack of education among each caretaker (not CNAs), and proactivity. Caretakers are usually late, and a phone call is placed to let us know. However, I get phonecalls asking if the caretaker has arrived. Luckily, we have security cameras to see. I do not believe we got compensated for the tardiness of caregivers. But I need to see the bills to make sure. A caretaker believed that naturally, Dad has Alzheimers. He made a comment after she arrived to a family member, "I don't want any them here anymore." The caretaker replied, "But I have to be here so you don't go and run away!" I believe this statement is a lack of dignity to an elderly person, and he doesn't have dementia or wandering behaviors. We really enjoyed our CNA. While she was late a lot, she was extremely proactive and kept busy. Finally, I called to ask after she was two hours late one day where she was, and she was "taken off the schedule." The lack of continuity of care prompted us to discontinue services, and we never got a call back for reasoning. I think that ABC has its pros and cons for someone that is really in need of increased behaviors. Most caregivers I met are SUPER nice but need training in showering, using a gait belt, and just getting their hands into the work rather than sitting and watching TV while our family members are still present.

We had marvelous caregivers, especially Janis, Renika (Nikki), Helen, Marquita, Catherine and Deadre. They were compassionate, competent and interacted well with my husband. Office Personnel Josephine, Maggie and Jessica were always helpful and quick to resolve any issue that arose. I'm a nurse and view them from a professional as well a personal perspective. I highly recommend ABC.
