Oak Gardens place is the most wonderful place to live when you don’t have an existing home and need the extra care. Very friendly staff and wonderful wonderful wonderful residents too. You should come and join us

Think twice about where you place your loved one. There are a host of reasons not to choose here, including: A phone system that does not enable an adult child to reach an on-site care team member so that you can "check in" on the status of your loved one. If you have an urgent or time sensitive need, good luck! An elevator that is too often "out of commission", which brings concern about safety and security should there ever be a need for residents to be evacuated quickly, not to mention elevators are important to the mobility of some residents. Recently, a horrible "sewer stench" that left visitors "gagging" upon entry into the facility, so imagine the experience of the residents. Horrible! A remodeling project resulted in a toilet removal and know one cared to check to ensure that the sewer was then sealed off! Then, recently, our loved one pressed the "help pendant" two times for assistance, and no one responded. A sibling had to drive over to the community and discovered that the care team was in the break room laughing about something and not paying attention to the pendant alert system. In the evening, it is common to find the outside doors unsecured after 6 pm, which is another safety and security concern for all residents and those who work here.. The food experience leaves a lot to be desired. "Fresh fruits and vegetables" are rarely served. If you pay for housekeeping, have low expectations. The room our loved one is in, is filthy! Take a paper towel and wipe the floor and its disgusting! Accurate medicine management is something to keep your eye on! There was a time when our loved one received the wrong meds because the person giving them set another residents medicine down on the table, too, so our family member thought they were to be taken also. There's a serious need for proper training and improved accountability, safety and security at this community to ensure the health, safety and well being of its residents. It's always sad when there are good employees and leadership fails to operate well.

Oak Gardens Place is beautiful, clean & very homey! The staff that we met from Cleaning, the Kitchen, Activities, the Nurse, the Coordinator & the Director are so kind, compassionate & they answered all of our questions. The rooms that we toured are very nice, very clean, they have kitchenettes with plenty of cabinets, good size mini-refrigerator, microwave & they are spacious! The food we had there for lunch was so delicious! The activities, games & the outings they have listed for the residents sound fabulous! There is a pretty patio area too.

Early in January, I was faced with finding an assistive living placement for my elderly aunt. She had been discharged from her rehabilitation facility and didn’t feel ready to return to her home. I had a very short window of time to secure a safe, comfortable space for her. Since I live 300 miles away, this was not an easy task. After calling several facilities and finding no openings, I found there was a possible place at Oak Gardens. Although Jen, the director of marketing was out of town for a conference, she called me after hours and said she could help…and help she did. Because logistics were a big challenge, she put a team together to actually go to my aunt’s home and physically move some furnishings and essential belongings to Oak Gardens Place. Along with a few of my friends and relatives on the ground, Jen’s team got her settled into her new surroundings within two days. Since the moment she moved in, she has been very well cared for. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Anytime I call with questions or concerns, my calls are returned in a timely manner. Today was another example of how Jen and her team go above and beyond. My aunt had received a couple of sizable checks and planned to endorse them and send them to her bank by mail. This concerned me because of possible theft and or fraud. Jen agreed that this could be risky, so she agreed to deliver them to the bank personally and have them deposited. What a relief to not have to be worried about that all weekend! Honestly, I could go on and on, but the bottom line is I feel absolutely confident that my aunt is safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I would highly recommend Oak Gardens Place.

I can’t say enough about the people that work here. The workers treat you like family! Took amazing care of my Dad until he got to go home. The meals are appropriate for the dietary needs. Nursing staff knows what they are doing. The facility is always clean and very much of a home feel to it. If it comes a time when my Dad needs a place to go again we will be back. To the staff thanks for taking care of my Dad when I wasn’t able too.

My grandmother is a current resident here. The staff are competent and friendly and really do everything in their power to make sure everything runs smoothly and that my grandmother is happy and well cared for. In the rare moment when things don't go smoothly, they immediately assess and do everything possible to correct course. I really appreciate everything they've done for my grandmother and those of us managing her care. (P.S. Jen, you rock!)

Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. Every time you walk in, Jen is greeting you by the desk and the staff ask if there’s anything you need/if they can help you. The residents always seem happy, and the staff is very accommodating to their dietary restrictions/preferences. Every time I go, the residents are doing activities with their activity person and often times, Alicia joins them in the fun!

Mom has been at Oak Gardens Place for six years. She doesn't want to go anywhere else...this is her home. Many older folks are set in their ways and have their routines, and the staff here are very accommodating with that and do their best to make mom happy, even with her picky food choices. All the staff are very friendly and helpful which makes for a warm environment.

The warm, welcome atmosphere makes Oak Garden place a wonderful home, when you can't be in your own home. I can't say enough good things about the staff. They care, and it shows. The care they have given my Mother really warms my heart. The difference in atmosphere here vs. All the other assisted living facilities that I looked at is palpable. I am very grateful that we found Oak Gardens.

My 86-year-old aunt recently had a stroke and was unable to return to living alone at her home. Her previous assisted living home was not meeting her needs, and the situation was incredibly stressful for the entire family. My goal was to find a better place for her as quickly as possible. When I walked into Oak Gardens for a tour, it felt like ‘home.” I am so thankful that they had an opening, and we were able to transfer her there quickly. The staff is terrific. They are incredibly friendly and attentive to all her needs. Their communication with me working out the logistics has been extraordinary. Her room is spacious and comfortable, and the food is excellent (they have a chef on staff). My aunt loves it there. Oak Gardens has been an enormous blessing to our entire family!

I would highly recommend Oak Gardens Place. From our first visit, we experienced a welcoming and home-like atmosphere. The smaller community of residents made our mother feel at ease and safe in a short period of time. The staff genuinely care about their residents and are very kind and accommodating. Communication was great with our mother and with us (her family) throughout her stay.

I have been housed here form a few months while recouping from surgery. We looked into a few places before coming here. The staff is so helpful and accommodating. They really try to get to know you to be able to help you in any way they can. They are encouraging and friendly. ( it doesn't hurt yhat they are reasonably priced).
