My grandfather is moving here and the facilities are beautiful. It’s newly renovated and offers wonderful options for engagement and support for my grandpa in the Independent Living building. We are thrilled for his transition, as is he! Caitlyn has been above and beyond helpful in guiding my mom and I through the process of getting everything set up for him. My Mom and her husband recently moved into Cogir in the independent livingarea, with extra optional assistance available on their hall. We all could not be happier with the situation! From the beginning everything was geared around making a smooth and positive experience! She regularly says that she loves it there! Amenities, interactions, price, are all positive and not at all like a stereotypically negative situation you might fear. They are both having healthier days with exercise and activities too.

Visited Cogir today for their first Easter egg hunt and we had an absolute blast - our daughter loved it! It was very well organized and calm. Plenty of eggs for all the kiddos and families. The facility is nice and most of the people working there are kind but there are some areas of concern. Two of the 3 washing machines on the lower level have been out of service for several months with no repair in sight. The elevator to the lower area isn’t operational with no repair in sight. There are residents living down there with mobility issues so that’s a concern. There’s no sense of urgency to repair these things from upper management. Very dismissive of the issues.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Cogir at The Narrows. Finding the right place for a loved one is incredibly important and it is evident in everything they do that they care about their residents. The Executive Director Angela is truly exceptional. I’ve got a family member who lives here and all of my experiences visiting have been great. The food is decent, they host parties and concerts and different events open to residents and their guests. I always feel welcome and my family member seems to enjoy living in this community.

We were a vendor at their "Wolrds Largest Pet Party event! This was our first time at Cogir at the Narrows. The staff and residents were all super nice and they definitely go all out for their events! They had lots of amazing local pet related vendors, photo ops, food, drinks, cupcakes and prizes! It was even open to the public and their pets to join in on all the fun We'll definitely be coming back for more upcoming events!

Delicious and nutritious restaurant. All of the wait staff have been so helpful and friendly. Tons of interesting activities. My family members are in a newly renovated, accessible and safe apartment. Best of all, the residents we've met so far have all been welcoming, friendly. interesting people; future friends! The pet party they had today was fun. Lots of friendly dogs who live here, and some visitors. The event was to commemorate the future dog park! Very pawsitive!

First of all, just picking up the phone to make the call, was very scary for me, the idea of my loved one possibly needing memory care is a very anxious feeling, and not knowing what’s next. We moved our loved one to Cogir so she would be closer to us and we would be able to visit more frequently. Cogir has been a wonderful facility where she became comfortable and not afraid. They have shown care and Compassion. They always had her clean and well cared for. A great staff especially the Director Deedra she is helpful and easy to communicate with. Teresa and Sophie the caregivers treated her lovingly .They seen her through hospice care to the end of life. Thankful for the care she received while at Cogir.

I have been there twice. My friend Judy Mercille just moved in on Friday. I discovered a couple of friends I had lost contact with, Billy and Ted Johnstone! I thought the facility very nice, the staff congenial, the dining room comfortable. The little nooks for conversations, the activities offered, thought I could live here myself. I am 73 still living in my home and Cogir will be the first place I will try to get into, when I find living in my home too difficult.

I cant say enough good things about this facility. We were lucky enough to get my grandma in the memory care unit here. Deedra was so helpful from start to finish and went above and beyond for not only grandma but the family as well. Grandma came from a facility that wasnt caring for her properly (eating, hygiene and on general). I am fortunate she got to spend her last few months at Cogir. Hannah came in after grandma passed and started talking and called her the wrong name and was a little off but the rest of the staff was great. Would highly recommend!

Initial Contact with COGIR/Hannah I checked out three facilities prior to COGIR and each time the contact kept telling me what I needed NOT asking what I was looking for/wanting. At COGIR one of the first questions Hannah asked was "what was important to me". She then described COGIR by physically walking me through the building and the grounds. When I said I would like to move in she explained the procedure to me. She also helped me find a moving company which was very professional and at a very reasonable cost. My husband is in memory care at Cogir, and while the beginning was a bit bumpy due to his behavior, Deedra handled everything with incredible compassion and understanding. She communicated clearly and thoughtfully every step of the way, helping us feel supported and reassured. Her calm, caring approach and dedication to the residents make a real difference. I cannot say enough positive things about Deedra, the Director of Memory Care at Cogir. From the beginning, she led with compassion, calm, and genuine respect for both residents and families. Navigating memory care and hospice is incredibly emotional, and Deedra’s steady, reassuring presence made a very difficult time more manageable. She took the time to know my father as a person, not just a diagnosis, and ensured his care was thoughtful and dignified. Her clear communication and responsiveness brought comfort when it was needed most. Deedra’s leadership is reflected in the kindness and professionalism of the entire memory care staff. Families are truly fortunate to have her at Cogir.

We would highly recommend Cogir at the Narrows over all. Our experience was positive with one exception. All interactions with the business office director, Temika , were challenging. Communication was inconsistent, both via email and phone which made what should have been straightforward administrative tasks unnecessarily time consuming and difficult. Aside from that issue, our experience with the community as a whole was very good and we would still recommend Cogir at the Narrows to anyone looking for a safe and supportive place for their loved ones.

On February 1st, 2025, I moved to this Senior Living Center. My move was generated by my complete dissatisfaction with my former similar Senior Living Center. It had gone from being a Nice Place to a Marginal One at best. COGIR At The NARROWS is a Bright Star in the Tacoma Area. It has Independent Living plus a separate Memory Care and Assisted Living Area also. A variety of Units accommodate Residents in secure & private Units and the entire building has Concierge Service with 24/7 Locked security. All Residents have separate keys and a code to get into the building afterhours. The Dining Room is a convivial and comfortable area to eat and enjoy other residents and guests as well. The Dining Courses for all Three Meal Times have been steadily declining in Quality and Nutrition for the past few months but these issues are being addressed by the very able Executive Director and her Staff. Meals plus take-out service are served from 7am to 6:30pm. Best way to put it is, the Wait Staff really cares and positive attitudes abound just as they do throughout the ENTIRE STAFF. The Overall Positive Attitude at COGIR is pervasive and is readily seen in the Residents also. Services such as Housekeeping & Laundry & Maintaining the Quality of all, both inside and outside, is well done. Cogir at the Narrows has a Superior Maintenance Team and rapidly address even minor Resident's Issues. All Units all have Cable TV & individual heat control. Two burner Stove Units and FULL SIZE SINKS & REFRIGERATORS are in each Unit. There are TWO ELEVATORS and their convenience is great. Throughout the facility & in each Unit's bathroom & bedrooms, are Emergency buttons with pull cords for Personal Emergency. The Campus is very nice and walking paths are nice. Smaller Pets including dogs & cats are welcome there. The Best Way to see and appreciate this Living Center is to Tour It. An amiable and comfortable presence is definitely here. I am very pleased to live in this Positive Environment. It is great to see any and all issues being addressed and solved with rapid response, keeping Cogir at the Narrows the Top Facility and Best In This Area.

Hannah was so organized in getting all the paper work ready for my parents to move in Cogir and my parents love the place. Her attention to detail made for a smooth admission. She is enthused in her job which made it fun when working with her. So amazed at how she remembers so many names and is always in a good mood.

Went there for a 70th anniversary. Staff was helpful getting me to right spot for event after signing in. Little trouble getting through the automated process as question clarity was not always evident. Facility was clean and accommodating to the residents needs.

I recently visited the community. My mom is looking for the near future and I must say this is hands down the best community we have toured. I feel like we have seen almost every community in Tacoma and from the moment we walked in and saw the beautiful outdoor area we felt at home. We were able to eat a meal and the food was pretty good. The residents seemed extremely happy to be there and even interacted with my mom during the tour. We were invited to an upcoming event and are hoping we can attend. When the time is right- this is the place.
