This is a great community oriented, active and supportive retirement center. The huge ceilings and piano players make it seem like a fancy hotel. There are events that involve the rest of the community outside of the retirement center. There's also a library upstairs. It's a great place to live when you need a little bit more support to enjoy life.

This is the first place we toured with my mother four years ago, and we knew as soon as we walked in that this was THE home we were looking for. It's bright, open, beautiful, doesn't feel like a hospital or an "old folks home". Mom has been SO happy here, everyone is friendly, helpful and you know that they love their jobs. My almost 90-year-old mother will mark her sixth year of residency here at Julian Estates, she is considered a charter resident as she started residing three months from opening in December 2017. Over the course of six years, we've experienced various managers, assistant, managers, and concierge, they all did the best they knew at the time, but none of them really excelled like the current managers, Cliff and Ila Ingbretson have for the residence of Julian Estates. When was the last time you were entertained like being on a cruise ship by your managers? Their talent brings back in time the likes of Neil Diamond, Frank Sinatra, Elvis and more, plus their costumes are a throwback into that era! Holidays bloom with beauty from the season through their incredible ability to bring the holiday into a festive delight of color. With such talent, they don't sit back and let the day-to-day chores go to the lower tier, many times I've seen Cliff hauling multiple bags of trash, serving coffee, and food during the meal times, always telling a joke, and always with a smile, they both display a love for their work, and the people they serve. We have noticed less turnover during their tenure and a fun working environment. As for the people who live here, Mom and I can't speak for all of them, but our survey of many express similarities… Like the old saying goes: They are chief cooks, and bottle washers with a servitude love for their patrons Warmly: Evelyn Toscas (charter resident) written by daughter Katina.

I love my apt and love the location. However I have been here 10 months and got a notice that my rent was being raised 8%. Wow what an increase! January they raised some ones rent 5% and two months later mine is 8%?? How is this fair. The only solution to that problem is to look for a new place. What a shame as I would at my age of 88 like to stay here as I am completely independent and require no assistance in walking or or any other requirements. Could be improvement in their menus. Too many carbs in the 5:30 meal at night which is served at 6 or later.

My husband and I dropped by unexpectedly, as we heard about Julian Estates from someone that morning. Martina was such a gracious host. She gave us a tour of every floor and took her time to answer all of our questions. This place is number one on our list for my mom. This place is beautiful. My daughter and I went in for a tour last week and everyone was wonderful. Martina treated us like family and even gave my daughter TWO scoops of ice cream. We got to meet the managers as well and they were wonderful. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and seemed very happy to be there. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone 55+ looking to be part of a great community.

I've got a family member that goes here, and I would love for others to experience the level of love and care that my family member receives here. I visit her often and the food, management, and other staff members are just terrific. She's told me about all of the friends she's made since she's been here and my hearts filled with joy knowing his needs are being met. I couldn't be happier to recommend this because of the turn around I've seen in my family member since she's been living here. If you're considering other places to live, stop your search. She's been to two others in the area. The price, food, staff, and other residents make this a home and a true community, not just a place to live.

My mom has lived at Julian Estates for a little over a year and we have not been very happy, very disorganized and chaotic. We were in the process of looking to move her and then the new Managers came in and have truly made a difference. They are definitely connected to the residents as well as to the staff. Both of them have really made her feel like its her home rather than just a business. She definitely likes how important they have made her feel. Staff is courteous and helpful and she likes the new chef.

Julian arranged the movers who, put everything in its place, My parents love it there, and I love them being there. Such WONDERFUL people work there, they make it a home, they make the dining area a great experience, they are fun, compassionate and professional. SO many walks of life live there, so many great stories they tell if join them for dinner!

When my dad and I first entered, Julian Estates Gracious Retirement, we were greeted by a lovely and friendly woman named, Cynthia. Right away, Cynthia,made us feel welcomed and at ease. My Dad told me right away he liked the feel of Julian Estates and he wanted to see more of the place. Cynthia took the time to sit down with my dad and ask him about his needs. She showed us around the beautiful facility taking the time to answer all of our questions. After our tour, she asked my Dad what he thought of the Julian Estates and my Dad told her, Where do I sign up? I like the feel of this place. I feel comfortable here!. After looking for a few months, we had finally found a place where my Dad felt at home!But the caring, supportive and commitment from Cynthia didnt stop after my dad signed the papers to move in. Cynthia texted and called me many times to see if my dad or I needed anything to make his move a smooth transition. Ive called and texted her, a lot over the last few weeks, and she was always so helpful and courteous. Cynthia has been a true blessing! The whole staff at Julian Estates has been so helpful to my dad and family!Matt, assistant manager, saw me moving a few heavy furniture items in for my dad. He stopped what he was doing and helped me move the items from my truck to my Dads apartment. He told me, Were here to help you and your family in way we can. He was just so helpful and thoughtful. Thank you, Vicky, for taking the time to come over and greet my Dad every time you see him. And thats just a few of many examples of how caring and helpful the staff is at Julian Estates.I cant say enough kind things about the head managers ( Kendal and Kathy) , assistant managers, ( Julie and Matt) and the marketing manager (Cynthia ) and assistant marketing manager, ( Vicky) and the rest of staff at Julian Estates.Theyve all gone above and beyond the call of duty to make my Dad feel at home! He is in a supportive, loving, caring, and enjoyable environment. I cant tell you what a blessing and relief it is to see my Dad looking relaxed and happy again!Thank you, Julian Estates, for giving my dad a loving and caring place to call home, again!

If I could give Julian Estates 10 stars, I most definitely would. For a month, I visited and searched many facilities in the Puyallup and Tacoma areas for my 86 year old dad to live. The places we visited were just not quite right for him. The minute we stepped into Julian Estates, we were greeted by Cynthia, who immediately took us under her wing and showed us their beautiful facility. Within 20 minutes of looking around, my dad looked at me and said This place is exactly what I want. Now that he is living in this community, I know he is safe, well-fed, cared for, kept busy, has made numerous friends, and best of all, is happy and healthy. The entire staff is phenomenal.....everybody from the managers and assistant managers, Cynthia and Vickie, the cleaning staff, maintenance, the kitchen staff....they ALL go above and beyond to make the residents and their guests feel welcome and important. Thank you Cynthia and Julian Estates for wrapping your arms around my dad and making this home for him.
