My husband was admitted to memory care at Village Concepts (The Eldorado) in Burien this past Friday. My husband did not want to be there. It was painful for me to say goodbye to him knowing he was in memory care now. Three days later, my husband called me. He was excited to be there and already felt part of the community. The staff went out of their way to take an interest in him and make him feel special and appreciated. And I was kept informed daily on how Lynn was doing. Our entire experience from our first tour of the facility to admitting my husband was wonderful. What I experienced was warmth, kindness and empathy from marketing, and the front desk to the nursing staff. And best of all, I felt heard , and supported. And when asked how they could help my husband best during this transition I told them. They listened and they took action. My family and I are grateful to have this genuine support during a difficult transition. I want to especially thank Mallory for her ongoing support which has been stellar, April at the front desk, and Peter, the activities director, and the wonderful nursing staff. Peter swooped in and made my husband feel appreciated for his talents, worthwhile, and validated as an important and contributing part of the community.

It has been a hard winter to tell the truth(January and February).Several staff had to take time off for illness and several residents (myself included)had to deal with the flu.Most Of us have been homeward bound for about 4 days straight duei to snowstorms that came one right after the other.Through it all the staff has put the residents as their priority and we the residents have wanted for nothing.That alone deserves a 5 star rating and if I could give all the staff a raise here I would but they will have to settle for a heartfelt thank you.This is the best place to live. It is now 2025.I have had several health problems and I go to the hospital and see an assortment of drs and specialists.Coral and Shinola and the rest of the medical team do a fantastic job of keeping my drs and health orders straight and see that they are followed with my drs and -not an easy task I tell you. Marlene,Terri and April are tops in their field in receptionists.They are a big help to me in several ways and care about the residents above and beyond the call of duty. My favorite person and to be commended above all others is Daisha.She has encouraged my participation in art which I am not good at.She has made walking fun again.But she really shines with her interests in the residents.She has a good listening ear,cares about you and is a good problem solver.Her positive attitude is contagious .She is the spotlight of the ElDorado and a wonderful person. The chef Nigel will accommodate everyone’s diets and food concerns like a pro. Semco and Daniel make a good maintenance team.They work well together and make sure thins get done. The housekeepers bring joy and professionalism into their work and it reflects on others. I have spent more time in memory care visiting my friends.To see them make recognition or progress is a bonus for me.Jabria the activity director always welcomes me and engages the residents in several projects they can do which is important.Richard and Mallory and John represent this place to residents before and after they come in which is important.They provide continuity.They are a knowledgeable professional groups of people who mean what they say.In closing I am very happy I chose the ElDorado and so is my family

Village Concepts has been amazing for our family. On the tour(s) (we came back a few times), we felt great energy coming from everyone. Our first contact was Richard the marketing director who was honest, open, professional and fun. The one thing that stood out was that he invited us right in to the Memory Care section. In other places, it’s been only a closed door, shrouded in mystery. This spoke volumes to me and gave us a good idea of what life is like there. We came back two more times with various members of our family and got the same vibe every time. It wasn’t just Richard! Malorie, his counterpart is also amazing as is the entire front desk staff, as well as everyone we passed in the hall were welcoming and wonderful. They encouraged us to visit other places and pick the right fit for us. We did and came right back to El Dorado. The process was smooth though of course lengthy. They were there, communicating every step of the way. Of course you roll the dice somewhat with any decision like this and don’t really know until you have moved in what it is going to be like The caregivers here are second to none, which solidifies our decision every single day. They care for my mother like family and are in contact with me as primary contact anytime it’s needed. They show me every day that we made a great decision. Coral, the director Has answered my every question and concern, Listens to and feedback graciously and makes time for us whenever needed. Matt in Finance called me for some money related stuff and made sure to start the call with "everything's fine with your mom, I just have this bank stuff to talk about!" What a thoughtful approach. Daisha, The activities director treats all residents with kindness And gets feedback from the residents to inform what activities will be featured. There are so many great activities. Sometimes it is hard for my mom to choose! Semco, the head of maintenance, has been worked there 22 years and provides service with a smile almost before you can ask for it. He takes the residents to lunch once a month. Last but not least, the food! Always a controversial topic In a retirement home. Nigel, the award winning head chef, hosts Tastings with the residents and lets them inform the menus! He and his team are creative and also so caring. This place is well run, feels homey and welcomes guests at any time. I can’t say enough good things. It shows that it’s a family business started by folks who wanted great care for seniors! Highly recommend!!

We toured this facility with the hopes of qualifying for Medicaid long term care benefits for my dad. The building is well-kept and has just about every amenity you would wish for in an assisted living facility. Beyond having all your needs met, the staff seemed very engaged and the overall atmosphere of the place was very active and welcoming. There were plenty of activities to keep the residents happy, as well as multiple common areas to casually socialize or spend time on hobbies. The director took great care and time helping us navigate the transition from independent to assisted living. He was thoughtful and helpful throughout the process, and seemed to have pride in the history and reputation of this home. Though we were ultimately unable to place my dad here via Medicaid, I would have been very happy to live at El Dorado West based on our interactions with the staff and facility.

Malorie helped our family in the many steps getting mom into a fantastic Assisted Living facility @ Village Concepts of Burien - El Dorado West. It is not easy to navigate the bureaucracy however Malorie guided us all the way. It seemed too good to be true that a sales executive could be so caring and helpful. Mom is now settled in her new home and the whole staff @ Village Concepts of Burien - El Dorado West are super kind, and they really care! Thank you, Malorie, from the bottom of our hearts as mom is now living safe in a very comfortable and accommodating facility where she can enjoy her final years. You have given our whole family tremendous peace of mind, and we will never forget your excellent responsive service and kind spirit!!!

He was extremely friendly and accommodating showing us several 2 bedroom units and all the amenities Village Concepts have to offer including laundry, meeting areas and activities. Richard Lewis took me on a tour of the facility and it was lovely! I could tell that Richard really takes pride in El Dorado West. He was knowledgeable, kind and answered all of my questions. I would think any person would want there loved one here. Most of all, I felt like he really understood my frustrations and concerns. Although my mother wasn't able to stay there, Mallory introduced me to a service called Rippl that will be a great help to us as we try to figure things out for her. Thanks Mallory and Richard!

We recently had an informative tour with Richard Lewis at ElDoradoWest, An excellent Independent and Assisted Living facility with Memory care. We were impressed with the friendly staff and happy residents there. The facility seemed to be well maintained and busy with activities. The public rooms were large and full of light. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a home for their family member.

My mom moved in a month ago and she loves the people at El Dorado - both the staff and the residents. She has felt so welcomed and included, very unlike other places that are very "cliquey". So far, the only negative is the overcooked vegetables and small salads. However, that is very minor in the scale of things. Mom is happy here.

My mother-in-law had a massive stroke in early October and after several days in the hospital and about 6 weeks of rehab, the family began the long arduous task of finding mom a safe place to live where all her needs would be met. At first, we were looking at adult family homes but quickly realized that's not what she needed at this stage of her life. After discovering assisted living, we determined that this would be a better fit for mom. After checking out multiple facilities and reading hundreds of reviews we ended up coming across El Dorado West and our first contact was Malorie and she was amazing. She assured my wife and myself that they would be able to take care of her needs while at the same time giving her the companionship she needs. El Dorado is a clean, active, vibrant community. The staff is friendly and we feel like we made the right decision. Mom moved in on Monday and we feel like she will adjust and thrive here. A big thank you to the entire caring staff at El Dorado West. We will give an update after she gets settled in.

I want to commend the management team and staff for taking such good care of me. Everyone was so nice and helpful that it made me feel right at home. Should you or a family member ever have a need, for assisted living or long term care, this would be the place I highly recommend. I did my research, checking nearly a dozen places out. I looked at the overall cost, type of care offered and community lifestyle. El Dorado West came out at my top three best facilities to go to.So do your research and trust me when I say you won't be disappointed in knowing you found the right place for yourself or your loved one. Save yourself some time and ask first for Malory. She's the go to person! She's nice and knows how everything works.

When Mom was ready to move out of her home, we didn't know where to start. We wanted her to be comfortable, be active, be safe, and be cared for. We started down the path of reviews, but ended up Chosing El Dorado West because of our warm and friendly initial engagement with the front desk and administrators. It has only got better from there. It was an excellent choice and Mom received all of our criteria beyond expectations. Anyone who rates Eldorado lower than 5 stars must have an unfair axe to grind. Mom has been there four years and seamlessly transitioned into assisted living. She is well cared for by a family like staff. I watch, they treat all residents as they would treat a loved relative. I sleep well at night knowing Mom is well cared for. I'm a pretty critical person and when I see something not right, I address it. We had a few things over the years, but they weren't from neglect, just mistakes and the staff at El Dorado was attentive and made things right--immediately. You can't find a better place for your loved one, they will be taken care of because I observe everyone caring, the kitchen, servers, Great CNA's and Nurses, and Superior Staff. I Frequent the Salon (Hair by Lani) that is located in this facility. By doing so I am able to see events that are going on or even events coming up. For instance, I brought my three year old over for Halloween and residents were giving away candy to all the kids. Such a nice thing to have them do. Smiles on both ends and all around. I’ve seen them do paint night as well. I guess what I’m getting at is I love that this place has a lot of fun events planned for its residents. Makes me wish I could move in myself just to join in on all the fun ha-ha!

Mom has lived here for the last few years and really enjoys the community environment that Village Concepts - El Dorado West provides so well. The whole facility was rebuilt a few years ago and is warm and welcoming with large reception area and bright dining room central and two wings of studio, one, and two bedroom apartments on either side. The people are what really make it worth 5 stars. Lori Crow, Executive Director and her group of talented and caring individuals create the environment that makes each resident part of something special. There is always some activity to look forward to. Not long ago I was invited over to see one of the best Elvis tribute artist in the US and it was great! Food can always be a point of concern in a large dining room, but I have experienced some really great meals, especially at holiday time when family is encouraged to join in the feast. The menu is varied and care is taken in the preparation with a Chef that makes items from scratch with good cuts of meat, fresh fruits and veggies. There are regular resident meetings to provide input/feedback to the Chef and his staff. Mom has high blood pressure, but has it monitored regularly by the health care staff and that gives us both peace of mind in the knowledge that there is always someone nearby if needed. She also enjoys the interaction of the people that help her with her daily life. They are some exceptional people that bring enthusiasm and kindness to each task. The residents all come from varied backgrounds and bring interesting life stories to share and learn from each other. After living alone for a length of time and losing some mobility, Mom was becoming isolated and she described her life as getting smaller. In the last few years there has been a huge difference in her quality of life. She is very involved with her community, knows everyone and has many friends. Our entire family agrees that El Dorado was one of the best decisions we made when helping Mom transition into a retirement community that would provide the level of assistance needed. I know my Mom agrees.

After checking many, many Assisted Living facilities in the south end of Seattle, we decided that Village Concepts - El Dorado West was the best place for our parents !!! Two years later, we definitely feel we made the right choice. The most important thing about Village Concepts of Burien, is that they treat the residents with care, and their open door policy allows visiting families to approach and talk to their staff about any concerns. Like other places, yes they have issues that come up but they listen whenever issues arise and work to correct them. We have a great presence at VCED, we visit our parents every day of the week at different times, and the Staff are always friendly and welcoming. The facility is clean and residents appear to be well taken care of. As far as cost, this place offers the best option in our area and very affordable for our parents. We would definitely recommend and rate this place as one of the best !!!

My mother in law has been in the memory care unit for almost a year now. We have been pleased, for the most part. Between my mom and my mother in law, they have been at 5 senior living places, so I have some perspective. You cannot expect the same care as a 8k/mo place for 4k. If you can afford it, go to Aegis. But money doesn't buy everything, and for a moderately priced place, I think they do a great job. Every concern we have had boils down to communication issues with the staff, and I hope the new memory care director will tighten that up. The memory unit could use more creativity with activities but the staff is very caring. Reading the other reviews, I agree that the food has not been good until recently. They hired a new chef and we noticed the change immediately. The menu is the same but there are fresher ingredients, cooked with care and seasoned really well. The residents are all really excited about the change. I have recommended this place to others and would not hesitate to do so again.

The place is new and nice. Some people are really nice but unfortunately the nursing staff is often slow to provide daily assistance. Most disappointing: the food is horrible! Food is overcooked, unappetizing with measly substitutions. My parent complains that the dinner is nothing but cold sandwiches every night and has lost a lot of weight living there. Every phone call includes complaints about one or both comments above. They don't listen to the residents. We've met with them and they do not respond to our concerns. Not sure how much longer I will put up with it.
