GenCare Renton at The Lodge – Reviews
May 2023
I am very happy living here at GenCare. This is my home and the people who live here are my family. There is so much to do every day with games to play and card games too. Work outs with Abbey in the gym to get your body in shape and you feel so much better. It is fun to eat in the dining room with your friends and have a bit of a chat. The bus takes you on your shopping trips , errands and Dr.Appointments no worries. GenCare is a wonderful place to live .

Affordable loyal friendly senior staff, management warm & friendly. The location is nestled by private homes and apartment complexes. A walking path surrounds the property. Housekeepers excellent. Residents fun & lively, outings, meals & weekly music . Spiritual service for those interested. Maintenance attends issues. Lived a year there but my husbands declining health had to find a bigger apartment due to all his equipment . We were on the waiting list but had made all the arrangements for a new move when one was about to open. Safe safe safe

I hardly ever write reviews; however, I am delighted to share my positive experiences at the GenCare facility. I am a walking distant neighbor of GenCare. I have to say in these days and times when neighborly hospitality is not like the good old days, starting with the receptionist, I felt totally welcomed by GenCare employees and its residents. I met with the Executive Director, Justin Wammock and was so impressed with his willingness to accommodate his neighbor (me) in hosting a meeting. Their facility is impeccable, a lovely place to live or visit. During my visits, I was able to witness firsthand how employees interact with the residents. The special attention provided was impressive and I can say the residents I interacted with, seemed very happy. Julie Wells, the Vitality Director does a fabulous job in providing engaging activities for the residents and the main areas are always decorated for every occasion, making the spaces attractive and lively. I am not quite ready to leave my townhome, however when the time comes, GenCare is absolutely a place where I would be happy to call home. Robin M

I moved my mother to GenCare at the Lodge at Eagle Ridge after she no longer could live alone. My experience with Patricia and Bree was one of the reasons why I chose to have my mother live here. The tour showed us what choices there were for apartment sizes, costs and care provided. Patricia was very thorough and detailed in what was offered and how the care worked. GenCare has a Moderate Income program that allowed a rental discount that was critical to being able to have my mother move to a place that meets her needs and she can live at. The discount allows families like mine to pay for personal care services that we would not be able to do elsewhere. The staff are caring and wonderful to my mother and the RN Jessica has been great to coordinate my mothers care with.

My mom has felt so comfortable at GenCare - she affirmed it was her home after a few months. That told me she feels safe. It was a tough and quick move from a house, but she adapted swiftly. The move to GenCare provided her relief and assurance that she would be better cared for, as well as the family. Her interactions with the kind and caring staff and residents have been a great social lift and heartwarming to witness. One of the best amenities for her is the hair salon.

We asked Leasa if she would be able to bake a Mothers Day cake for us. Leasa checked and was able to do this. It was a beautiful Carrot Cake. The cake was also gluten free and sugar free since Betty has Diabetes and Celiac disease. The food was the reason we moved here initially. The kitchen staff is certified for Diabetes and Celiac disease. Leasa and her great staff have been very helpful in answering questions as well. Leasa is a wonderful asset to GenCare. Our family not only enjoyed the cake but the time spent with us was special because of it.

GenCare Renton at The Lodge offers an extraordinarily high level of care and attention. I called many similar assisted living facilities, on my mother-in-laws behalf, and many seemed only interested in the financial part of it (who was going to pay, etc.).GenCare Renton was only focused on how they could help and even helped my mother-in-law to make the right decision in terms of the type of unit and other details. It also ended up being the most economical option for her to stay several weeks while recovering from a fall. The entire staff is very dedicated and there is a high ratio of staff and residents. Someone is always available and ready to help. One specific situation that comes to mind is when my mother-in-law locked herself out of the unit on a 4th. of July and someone helped her immediately, even though that day there was reduced staff.I cant recommend GenCare Renton at The Lodge enough.

I was pretty overwhelmed after my parent suffered a major injury. They couldnt be home by themselves and needed a safe and caring place to heal. From the moment I entered The Lodge, the staff put me at ease, allowed me to express my needs, and listened. Warmth and caring is what I observed as I was shown around. So many planned activities and things to do and see. After the visit, I was relieved that I had found the perfect spot for my parent. The staff is attentive and focuses on the care and well being of the resident. I have found the staff goes well beyond whats expected to address issues, small or large ( actually there havent been any large issues ).rom the Executive Director to the Concierge staff, my experience has been nothing but remarkable. Their professionalism and communication are consistent. highly encourage anyone seeking a safe place for a love one to give The Lodge a trySigned A Loving and Appreciative Son

Julie Wells the Vitality Director asked me to come do a class once a week. I have gotten to know residents and they have a wonderful time in the class. I see residents doing many different activities at The Lodge. They have chair volleyball, play Rumikube everyday, they have special activities as well, like a Casino Day, and other holiday events throughout the year. The residents look like they really enjoy themselves. Some of the less cognasent residents sit in the lounge together and Julie will go out and play memory games with them. They get Lodge Loot they can spend 2 times a year at a silent auction. This is a place I could see myself living at in the future. I've gotten to know some of the employees. They are likable and they treat the residents like family. Everyone has a great time there.

My name is Margie, and after over six months of being here I feel that I know enough to write a review. After I had my stroke my daughter and I will look into a lot of different places and Im happy to say that out of all of them GENCARE exceeded my expectations 100%. From the first time that I walk downstairs for dinner I was greeted by the servers who explained everything to me about our menus and our plans for our dining pleasure. The food here not only taste good but it is presented in a clean atmosphere and all of the workers in the kitchen are so attentive to everyones needs. Theres a movie theater here which I enjoy, theres the canoe lounge where we hang out and talk and play games and just socialize. A complete gym along with physical therapist that Im more than happy to work with you one-on-one or in a group. The front desk is always careful of who comes in and goes out they know all of the residence by first names which I found impressive with so many people living here along with their family members. My daughter was impressed when she walked through the front doors with me and they greeted her by first name as if we were friends forever. We have a nursing staff on the second floor that is always on the run and when theyre not attending people in the rooms they come through out the lounge area and the dining room area and check up on all of us individually and talk to the residence one on one which I found completely impressive. We have a recreational staff that is always so happy to meet our needs when it comes to driving into town and helping us run all our errands they help us in and out of the van and even help us with our bags to our floors if need be these women who do transportation anticipate our needs before we even ask them. I have a house cleaning staff that comes in and helps clean my room and theyre always friendly and if I want a little extra done all I have to do is ask for it and there they are. The administrative staff are always around and outside of the office to check up on everyone within the building and the floors. I may have been scared when I first came into GENCARE over six months ago but I now see the residence as well as the staff members as family who care and look out for me. My daughter has told not only me but the staff and administrative people and the residence that she is so grateful that out of all the other places we chose this one and this give my daughter peace of mind. I personally thank God every night when I go to sleep for being here at GENCARE, these people have been caring for me since day one and Im truly grateful for each and everyone of them.

I came to Gencare 3 years ago to be a part time caregiver to one of the residents. This person suffered from severe Alzheimer's and dementia. She was the sweetest lady and I witnessed nothing but compassion and love from the staff in regards to her continuing level of care. Even after the family moved my resident elsewhere, I have continued to volunteer at Gencare. I polish the nails of the residents 2 days a week. I am usually at Gencare 2-3 days per week (2-4 hours a day). I don't always come on the same days or times, so I feel I am uniquely qualified to critique the facility. The highlight of my week is when I come to Gencare. I truly love the staff and I know how much they all love the residents- it's apparent in the way they interact with them. This is where I would like to come when it's my time for assisted living. I talk with the ladies while I am polishing their nails and everyone loves it there. They have so many wonderful activities and "field trips" (haha!) and they have all made really wonderful friendships there. I LOVE Gencare????

As a resident of The Lodge, I would like acknowledge our Vitality Department. They think of so many ways for us to take part and be entertained at the same time. Once a month we have a Vitality planning meeting open to all residents for input and ideas. This makes us feel we have a part in planning what we are going to do. Our Vitality Director is excellent at implementing our ideas for outings, games and events on a regular basis. There are mind games, physical games, outings and transportation to appointments if needed. All of this is featured each month in the Newsletter and Calendar. You can be as busy as you want to be! All of this is done with a lot of love from the staff not counting all the interruptions when something comes up unexpectedly. When I first moved in because of circumstances I was slow in socializing. Through the help of staff and friends I got interested in the games and meeting people. Those people became wonderful friends. It is great! I no longer feel alone, I feel loved. This is my extended family.
