It is a most difficult decision to make, placing a loved one in a facility such as Ashley Gardens. No matter how nice the facility, how caring the staff is and the services they provide this is not what you had hoped for - for your loved one and for you personally. Ashley Gardens ranked high in all these factors. But the one thing that stood out the most for our family and still does to this day is the support by one special person. Leslie Pelch was most understanding and helpful with all the enrollment procedures and requirements. On the first day of residence she was outside, waiting for Marilyn with a smile and open arms. Her welcome and friendly attitude helped Marilyn overcome those first few hours of fear and hesitancy. Later that day, when her son and I left we felt comfortable that this was the right "home" for Marilyn at this time in her life. To this day whenever you see Leslie she always has a big smile on her face, a happiness in her voice and a welcoming and loving attitude towards all. Not to diminish any of the many other wonderful staff members/care givers at Ashley Gardens but Leslie in those first days could not have done anything more to make the decision and move the best one for all.

I loved Ashley's flexibility, private rooms, good food. However, when I picked my parent up to take home she was in her room, feces on the floor, her shirt, the bed. I have no idea how long she was like that. Very upsetting and disturbing.

I've had the privilege of working with seniors for over two decades, and my experience with Cascade Living Group, particularly at Ashley Gardens, has been nothing short of exceptional. From the initial interview to the meet and greet with the management team, it's evident that everyone here, from management to staff, possesses genuine care and hearts of gold. As a manager, witnessing families express their gratitude for the outstanding caregivers, nurses, and staff reaffirms that we are making a meaningful impact in the lives of our seniors. I feel truly blessed to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated team at Cascade Living Group.

I have worked at many different assisted living/memory care communities in my 18 years in this industry. By farthest, Ashley Gardens is the most friendly and family oriented community with open doors 24/7. I can honestly say, I have not worked in a community surround by so many associates who care so immensely for these residents. Not only am I thankful to have such incredible caregivers, but the management team has come such a long way. Everyone has become so much more knowledgeable and equip to care for your families loved ones! If my mother were still alive, I would without a doubt trust Ashley Gardens to care for her if I was unable to. Consider Ashley Gadens as a home for your loved one if you need some help caring for them

Everyone involved in helping us navigate moving my mother into Ashley Gardens have been amazing. Every question has been patiently and respectively answered. Vanessa inquired of some of my mother's favorites and had cookies, root beer and a throw blanket to greet Mom when she arrived. Hannah graciously helped with all the paperwork to be filled out which was so appreciated. Mom has only been at Ashley Gardens for two days however the daily reports of how well she is doing (as we stay away to let her acclimate to her new environment) are very much valued by our family. The Ashley Gardens "Team" has made this difficulty transition for our family as smooth and easy as possible. We have only met her very caring and efficient nurse, Brandon and we can't wait to meet the rest of Mom's "team" when we begin to visit her in her new home.

We have had a phenomenal experience by the entire team. The head nurse, Brandon, has been a phenomenal support to our loved one and to us helping us navigate the knowns and the things we had not considered or expected. My parent can be very particular on how he relates to caregivers and he does better than we expected. We expected more defiance but they've had a greater success than we anticipated. We feel confident that our parent is well cared for. All signs are pointed that way. We are encouraged by the staff at all levels to come whenever we want to visit our parent. We live close and visit often. We don't have to schedule ahead of time. Everytime we drop in, everything is well maintained, residents are happy (as much as can be expected given their condition as happiness can be fleeting). We have heard our parent compliment the food often while they're eating. My parent has reasonable awareness and requests to call us sometimes at odd hours due to confusion. The staff accommodated and we have advised they can call anytime it's needed. We feel comfortable that we are working as a team in giving care. We feel fortunate to have found such a place.

My wife has been a resident at Ashley Gardens for over three years. We researched memory care facilities for over a year in the Seattle and Skagit Valley areas to decide on a place for her when home care became too difficult. We selected Ashley Gardens because of the dedication and loving care we saw The staff truly cares for the residents.

Managing Ashley Gardens for over 15 years is a humbling and very rewarding experience. We are one of a few communities in the Valley with the most longest tenured staff. I can safely say, Ashley Gardens Care Associates are among of the best in Skagit. We take pride in providing the highest level of care while treating our Residents with the utmost dignity and respect. I encourage you to come and see how good we really are.

The residents are so well cared for... treated as if they are family. The atmosphere is homey and the food served is homemade in their kitchen. Ashley Gardens of Mount Vernon has attentive care associates and has earned their reputation of being the best in the area for Memory Care. The residents have music, daily interactive activities essential to their wellbeing in this stage of their lives. The nursing staff is there 24 hours. A beautiful, welcoming place.

Ashly Gardens, Mt. Vernon, WA January 29, 2019 Ashley Gardens showed up in Shirley's life just in time. She was having behavioral problems: striking the nurses and staff, threatening other patrons, peeing on the floor, spitting meds, and being handcuffed by strong men nightly at the emergency ward of Northwest Geriatric Hospital. She was afraid, and so was I, her eldest son. I wasn't sure if there was a dementia care facility that could take on my mom. And I had 48 hours to find one before the hospital would hand her back to me because her health insurance didn't cover this kind of care for more than a couple of weeks. I had looked around Seattle and entertained dozens of ideas. Out of desperation I threw a dart at the phone book and dialed a couple places up north. Helen Fisher, the Senior Director at Mt Vernon, got back to me immediately. I explained my situation and we agreed to meet that afternoon at the hospital. She showed up confident and went into high gear, interviewing Shirley, checking the logs and records, making sense out of the insensible. We stepped into a private office and she said, "Don't worry. This happens a lot. Our team is very good at this. Come up to Mt Vernon tomorrow and see the memory care for yourself." I drove up with my daughter the next day. There were two memory care facilities I wanted to check out and we turned it into a day trip. The first care facility was nice and I liked the less expensive price point. Shortly after, we stepped into Ashley Gardens and met Helen. We took a took a tour of the 40 bed memory care. It was clean, with almost none of the odors I had come to associate with hospitals the last two weeks. Very clean. The building was pretty, the staff professional, the patrons content. I told my daughter, "I like the first place." She gave me that daughter look, then explained why Ashley Gardens would be a good fit for Grandma. I had two discerning brothers on the east coast who were waiting on our decision. I wisely followed my daughters advice and said, " Ashly Gardens it is." Shirley lived comfortably at Ashley Gardens for two years, passing on January 28, 2019. She was a foreign language student, and was best known for her insistence of referring to the staff as, Ma 'dame.

My Mom was at Ashley Gardens for six years. My Dad sat with her all day everyday, he would not leave her side. The wonderful, caring staff at Ashley Gardens took care of them both. They are like family to me, and they loved and cared for my parents as if they were their own. My family is eternally grateful for the care my parents received.

They took excellent care of my dad for 9 months, and when my mom needed care we took her there first. She is still there and I am always happy with how they treat every one, I don't have to worry about my mom at all.

My paternal grandmother had Alzheimer's for 18 years from diagnosis. She passed in 2003. Back then they did not have a lot of memory care specific facilities. After being a chef for 21 years I switched gears. I chose health care. More specifically memory care. Had a place like Ashley Gardens been in my grandparents area I would have wanted her in a place like this!! She would have been safe and loved. It is a big family here. Residents and their families come first. If you are looking for a memory care community, come to Ashley Gardens.

I have worked at this facility for 2 years so far . Let me tell you something . I have been a caregiver for 20 years . This is by far the the greatest place I have worked .If I ever had actual family member so sadly diagnosed with memory loss and I was unable to take care of them for whatever reason this is where I know they will be loved and cared for Safely with compassion . My brothers and sisters who work at AG are truly dedicated to making life care the best it can be . I have worked at many other facilities in Skagit county over the years but Ashley is truly a HOME and the people they employ are wonderful and kind . You will never find a more loving and kind place to keep a love one safe and secure . One last thing . Helen the Administrator and Melissa the director of Nursing I promise you have a 100% approval rating with Families and staff ...they are wonderful human beings .
