This is unreal. Some of the things that the new DOW is saying to staff members is highly unprofessional. Speaking about peoples children and firing people left and right when they cant make it to work in the event of an emergency. The company is overall fantastic, but some of the things that i have heard this specific individual say and the way that she has conducted herself are just highly highly unprofessional and out of good taste They are not acceptable and outright tyrannical.

My father has been a resident at The Lodge for almost a year. He has become quite stable and is loved and supported by all of the care staff. We could not be happier with his experience. After COVID I was honesty scared of the reality of a care facility but all of the staff made the process so easy and comfortable for us all.

Long overdue. Though able to provide a year of experience with both Memory Care and Independent Living. My husband and I are relieved and fortunate to have found an amazing home for his parents, especially knowing Covid created many obstacles for the elderly. Our first experience was with Marketing Director, Samantha, whom we found informative, honest and engaging. Once my in-laws moved in, we were pleased to find the entire team in both areas to be attentive, caring and dedicated. This was especially challenging as the labor shortage was rampant. I would like to call out a few that we are especially fond of: Donovan and Trace from the restaurant, Donna @ the front desk, Will from the nursing staff and especially Steve W from the executive team. While Steve is part of the executive team, he is a boots on the ground kind of guy. He lends a hand where needed, actively participates in events regardless of evening or weekend. Overall, Steve, is a kind and conscientious person. Since his arrival in November he has continuously fostered an open dialogue and welcomes a quick chat.I am continuously impressed at the level of communication within The Lodge and their proactive approach with families. The team is diligent in monitoring the well being of each resident, from their eating habits to movement around the grounds. Our appreciation extends to all Lodge team members.Thank you!

I visited three places before deciding to move to The Lodge at Mallard’s Landing. I was impressed by The Lodge the minute I drove up to it, and the inside is even more impressive. I haven’t regretted my decision to move here at all. The new administrative staff have been very open to hearing residents’ concerns and suggestions, and have already implemented positive changes. I was needlessly concerned before moving about the quality of the food and the choices. There is a special offered at every meal as well as a full menu of alternatives. Most of the food is well prepared and tasty. The staff is very open to accommodating special requests. There are a variety of activities offered, including daily movies, a book club, various card and board games, scenic drives, and shopping trips, as well as free transportation to medical appointments several days a week. I’m very glad I’ve moved here. I live in an independent apartment but also rent an emergency alert pendant due to a propensity to fall. I’ve had to use the alert four times and the medical staff arrived within minutes to help me get back on my feet. I feel safe and well cared for here.

As a former employee I can tell you the absolute only pro to working at The Lodge is the residents! Well also there was a handful of co-workers that were amazing as well. Management is horrendous! Clicked up gossipers. When I started there my boss in housekeeping was the most useless person ever. Nice, but she just wanted to hang out. Never helped, never addressed issues that were brought to her attention, hung out in her BFF's office most of the day, and was just overall inconsistent. In addition to that she would overwork us without offering a hand, even when we were down two housekeepers, and then alter our hours when we had no time to take a lunch and I was, in no uncertain terms, told if I had to work overtime I would not get paid for it. So at the end of the day if I wasn't done I had to clock out and continue working. When I brought this to the attention of upper management (at the time was David Johns, who was very supportive and helpful) she was finally demoted to being a housekeeper, but then we got a new ED and she soon ended up with the cushy position of "the utility person", so she was basically allowed to do nothing and get paid for it. Still hanging out in her BFF's office. In my time at The Lodge the housekeeping department was understaffed more than it was full staffed but we were never offered alternatives or help. The new housekeeping supervisor is great and made sure we had all the products and tools we needed. The former supervisor would not and most of us would buy our own products and tools. I miss the residents desperately but am very happy to not be working there anymore.

I am excited to be helping my parents move into this beautiful community. They found the independent cottages to be a wonderful option. Meals and activities are a short walk away in the Lodge. All of the employees that I have met have been friendly and helpful! The only reason that I am not giving it a five star review is because they have not been there long enough... Ill review again in 6 months.UPDATE: It has been 8 months now and my parents absolutely love this place! The food is delicious, caregivers and staff are friendly patient and caring. They are currently independent and have their privacy, but know that if they need help in any way, it is available. We strongly recommend this home!

Urgent care and the hospital wouldnt test my mom for a UTI but The Lodge proactively communicated with the doctor and got my mom on antibiotics. If I ever have a concern it is immediately addressed and I am very impressed with the memory care staff. My mom is happy and is getting involved in activities.

We moved into a cottage a month ago. The dining room was most important to us and we love the food and open dining hours. All the residents were very welcoming. The staff is much more friendly and professional. They are all well kept, polite and appear to genuinely care about people. We love the pond, we walk it every nice day. I would encourage anyone in our position to come tour. This is our third community and by far superior to the others.

Perfect fit in Memory Care for my father. I started looking over a year ago and toured many other communities in the Gig Harbor and Tacoma areas multiple times. I kept coming back to The Lodge for Memory Care. The pros are many: nice rooms and public lodge-like spaces, patios, good food, regular activities, and easy access for family. While the pricing between communities was similar, the care team and staff at The Lodge made the final decision easy. Everyone has been extremely helpful in making a potentially difficult transition seamless for my father. Dad is enjoying his new home and routine. Whatever level of care you are seeking for yourself or a loved one, I highly recommend considering The Lodge at Mallards Landing.

Most wonderful place for my mother! During these frightening times and dangerous times for our elderly, my sisters and I couldnt imagine a better place for our mom. We miss her like crazy but she is physically safe. Just as importantly she is emotionally cared for as well. The amazingly caring staff (Samantha!) at The Lodge have figured out how to make sure she can get outside, participate in appropriately distanced group exercises. And they do what they can to facilitate safe family interactions. Our 90 year old mum is doing better than any of us are! Deepest thank you to every single member of The Lodge team!

My parents have been at The Lodge since June of last year. we have all been completely impressed with, not only the facility itself, but the staff. Each staff member has worked with us as we navigate the changes happening in my parents lives with the express intent to make this season a great one for them. My dad has some dementia issues which can change day to day and each and every staff member has been very flexible in helping him and my mom through this time. They have been quick to tend to any extra needs that may come up. My mom will be the first to say she feels each member of staff she comes in contact with seems like they really enjoy their job there and that truly makes a difference in the entire atmosphere for all that call The Lodge home. Before my parents moved to Washington state, my daughter and I checked out many places for them and she and I immediately got a sense that The Lodge was clean, friendly (including the residents) and had the best interest of their residents always in mind. With the current COVID concerns, The Lodge got right on that ahead of schedule with protecting their residents. Weve been ever grateful. I will be the first to highly recommend this beautiful facility! Thank you, Lodge, for all you do to make this a safe place for my parents to call home!

A dear family friend of mine is a resident at The Lodge. I was very impressed, while visiting, at the friendliness of the staff and the way the residents are treated. It felt more like a large family then a retirement center. The food here is also amazing! Healthy yet delicious, I love that there are daily specials so it never gets boring. If youre looking for a loving retirement community for a loved, I highly recommend The Lodge at Mallards Landing.

I highly recommend coming to Mallards Landing, you feel right at home right away. I have lived here for a year, I was looking for a cottage but they werent available at the time. I have a two bedroom apartment on the same floor as the nurses station and I love it. I feel very at home, there are never any problems and I dont feel in the way. When its my cleaning day the staff always check in and remind me. If Samantha the marketing director has a tour I let her tour my room. I love the food, I have liked everything I have been served. The wait staff are aware of my food allergies and give me good suggestions on what to order. I love the walking trails and pond I go feed the ducks almost everyday.

Just wanted to thank the nice lady who took my recent call. I was trying to contact an old friend and relatively new resident at The Lodge at Gig Harbor and was able to have my contact information passed along to my friend. So glad to learn that she is in such a lovely facility and near her daughter, and delighted that well be able to stay in touch. She has been a dear friend for decades.

I have worked at the Lodge for over 6 years now and its truly an amazing place to be. My boss is one of the best, so good to all of her employees and cares deeply about the residents and does her best to fulfill their wants and needs to the best of her ability. I love being able to interact with all of the residents and learn about their lives and their stories. The residents are so welcoming to new ones, and form such close bonds with each other that everyone there becomes one big family. Id recommend this place to anyone I knew that was looking for this type of place for themselves or their loved ones because of how well they are treated by not just the staff, but fellow residents. Ive learned so much, work wise, and life wise and I wouldnt change my time here for anything!
