My Mother has resided at Morningstar (previously "Garden Court") for over 10 years now. She really enjoys the facility. Morningstar is clean, safe, has many daily activities and a terrific staff. The residents are so friendly and upbeat it makes my Mom feel like family. A special shout-out to all the Morningstar staff members who have helped my Mom through the years. Just one recent example- my Mom had an issue with her sewing machine last week and staff member Jamie came to the rescue- actually taking the machine apart to fix an issue with the mechanism. She must have been an auto mechanic in her previous life! Cheers Jamie and Cheers to all the staff at Morninstar!

I had the good fortune of having my sweet little grandpa and later my awesome parents live here. They are up front and honest with the cost and don’t spring additional costs on you. Everyone is so professional and loving! My mom called them her angels. She loved them all. From the cleaning crew, wait staff, chef, front desk, nurse, managers all the way to the top and everyone in between. I highly recommend this home for your loved ones. We were there a lot to see and help our loved ones and we were always amazed how the workers knew all of us! We felt very welcome. So many fun activities and things available. Our parents (and my grandpa before them) so loved living at Morning Star. They had a two bedroom apartment, with a kitchen, pantry and laundry. They were able to bring their kitty along and she had a happy life there as well! My dad had some assistance while my mom remained independent. They both loved the staff, from caregivers, to cleaning crew, to dining servers. My mom loved the elegance of the dining room, white table cloths and fresh flowers every day. There are so many activities planned for residents, on site as well as excursions. I honestly don't have a 'bump' to mention. I highly recommend Morning Star for that next step.

My mom is a resident and recently had a fall that required hospitalization. Being several states away, I felt helpless when I learned she was without her clothes and important phone numbers. As soon as I notified the staff, they immediately stepped in. They went into her apartment and gathered everything she needed and brought it to the hospital without hesitation. Their promptness, kindness and attention to her comfort made a world of diffence during a difficult time. After our mom passed away we needed to find a new place for dad that could work with his diet. We were so happy to find Morningstar. He was lonely but the aides were all so wonderful to him that it helped him get through seven months on his own until he too passed away. We are so appreciative of Kimberly, the nurse, and all the med techs and aides, many whom have been there for years. Special thanks to Ariche, who my dad felt so comfortable with. I would also like to thank Denise, the chef and her crew. They did their very best to provide food that was easy to swallow. The room was beautiful and housekeeping and maintenance were excellent. Dad's room had a washer and dryer which was a huge bonus. We were able to wash clothes and towels daily for him. I feel Morningstar is one of the best assisted living facilities in the area, it is worth checking out to see if it fits your needs.

Home is where the heart is, and for me, that’s MorningStar. Our journey here was difficult. My husband's dementia had progressed to a point where it required constant attention and care. I needed a place where I could provide for his immediate needs, but in a pleasant environment for me as well. The facility was perfect! It is light and cheerful; the staff is friendly and helpful; the food is delicious and offers MANY choices at each meal. Regrettably, my husband's condition deteriorated, and he passed away. The support I received from my fellow residents and the staff was amazing and turned a sad period into one of acceptance and hope. I wake up each morning smiling, ready for a new day.

My father moved into Morning Star a little over a year ago. I cannot tell you how much he has enjoyed living there. I want to shout out to Ashley, Assistant Director. She is an asset to your organization and a rare person. There are many people that we meet in our lives, but only a few will make a lasting impression and impact. She is one of those people. She truly cares about the staff, visitors and also the residents. I visit my dad almost every day and look forward to running into Ashley. She is positive, professional and truly a caring person. I'd come to visit a friend. This seems like a very nice, welcoming, caring facility. I arrived during musical entertainment. The guitarist was very talented & related nicely with the residents. I was invited to stay for supper & was treated to a delicious salmon meal. The wait staff were all very helpful and professional. The di ing decor was lovely. The building is nicely furnished & decorated; very clean & with attention to safety for the residents. I visited my friends' apartment which was modest in size, had a nice kitchenette & seemed adequate for their needs. I was given a May activities' calender, & was impressed the variety of choices available for them. I was invited to join in with some of the craft offerings provided. I also ran into a couple I knew from the Sr. Mobile Home Park where I live, who have lived here about 3 yrs now & state they really like it here at Morningside. I live only about a mile away so I look forward to visiting my friends often.

As a daughter deeply invested in the care and well-being of my disabled, sick father, finding the right respite care for him was a daunting challenge. My father, bound to a wheelchair and grappling with memory issues due to his MS, requires specialized attention and compassion. He's not just a patient; he's my dad, and his comfort and happiness mean everything to our family. For years, my mother, his devoted wife, has been his primary caregiver. She needed a break, and we needed to find a solution that ensured my father's care and safety while giving her the respite she deserved. Enter MorningStar of Silver Lake. We approached this decision with trepidation, unsure if any facility could meet my father's complex needs while respecting his desire for independence and dignity. We turned to MorningStar twice for respite care, and each time, they exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked through their doors, we were met with warmth, empathy, and professionalism. A huge shout out to Annie in Community Relations who is the perfect face of the program. The staff at MorningStar treated my father not just as a patient, but as a cherished individual deserving of respect and understanding. They took the time to get to know him, his preferences, and his unique challenges, ensuring that his stay was as comfortable and enriching as possible. One of our initial concerns was whether the facility would be able to provide the level of attention and care my father requires, given his aversion to being fussed over. However, we soon realized that MorningStar strikes the perfect balance between attentive care and respecting his autonomy. They were always there when he needed assistance, yet never intrusive or overbearing. While it's true that the facility can sometimes feel busy, it's important to note that this perception is subjective and stems from our own desire to ensure my father's well-being. In reality, the bustling atmosphere speaks to MorningStar's commitment to fostering a vibrant, engaging community for all its residents. In closing, I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care and support provided by MorningStar of Silver Lake. They not only provided my father with the care he needed but also gave my mother the peace of mind and rest she so desperately needed. Thanks to MorningStar, our family found a respite oasis where my father's health and happiness were safeguarded.

My mom, who has dementia, has been living here for approximately 6 months and we have nothing but good things to say about MorningStar Assisted Living. The director and whole team are pleasant and responsive. The front desk group is always friendly and kind. The assisted living aides and med techs are supportive and encouraging. The cleaning and repair staff are top notch. The dining room/kitchen team are so friendly and always remember Mom’s name at meals. The recreation team does a wonderful job coming up with fun events and bringing in varied entertainers. Even the physical therapy team (from EmpowerMe) is excellent. Mom moved across the country, from an equally wonderful facility, to be near me and it was not an initially easy transition. The MS team gave me tips to help Mom and have made me feel like I wasn’t alone in this. Mom also reports that the people (residents and workers) are nice and that the food is good. One afternoon when Mom had a fall, the med tech called me right away to let me know what had happened and that Mom was fine. I appreciated that they were proactive in letting me know. It’s hard to feel comfortable leaving your parent in an initially strange settingnot unlike leaving your child off at daycare or preschool for the first time. You have to feel that you can trust the people to take care of your special person and to do the right thing when things occur. And with a person who has dementia, things will occur! They have been helpful and welcoming from my very first visit (and we looked at 7 different assisted livings prior to choosing MS). Thank you, MorningStar team. We appreciate you all!
