I would like to give a review on Kayla Ferguson. I was so dragging my feet to be a residence here and after 2 months now of living here I have to say SHE was RIGHT!!! It is so friendly place to live. Kayla was so accommodating to make sure all our wishes came true. I just wasn't buying it. She was so patience and kind and bent over backwards to make our wishes come true. My husband was all for the Adult Living aspect. But ME was a different story. One day my husband and I came back to look around again and see what was available. We originally wanted a 2 bedroom, when we came back it was already taken. At that time Kayla said you know a one bedroom just became available and I Thought of you and your husband. Would you be willing to just take a look. We said sure! That was it!. We walked in and immediately fell in love. It had high ceilings in living room and bedroom. We overlook the court yard. Its perfect and my husband and I are making the one bathroom work. I can't tell you enough how great Kayla has been. She is the perfect catch for her position as Community Relations Director. We appreciate her positive attitude and friendly smile ALWAYS. Thank You for hiring such a amazing person... Very Sincerly, Diane and Bill

My mother moved to Merrill Gardens six months ago. I could not be more grateful for this beautiful facility full of caring staff and residents, nestled in the middle of the rejuvenated core of downtown Auburn. Kayla was a godsend, offering us a tour, lunch and a gentle, no-pressure approach to considering the joys and benefits of independent living with additional options available as needed. Mom enjoys numerous opportunities for social interaction and a spacious apartment flooded with natural light that contributes to her well-being. The staff truly makes the difference and encourages participation in monthly “town hall” meetings to share feedback and suggestions for new activities or a particular food item or meal they may be hungry for. I couldn’t be happier seeing my mom enjoy a higher quality of life in her new community of friends who look out and care for each other. Merrill Gardens is similar to a cruise ship full of amenities that never needs to leave port!

Something incredible is happening in the memory care unit (The Garden House) at Merrill Gardens in Auburn. As a visiting nurse, I travel to a variety of home environments and each one is unique. The Garden House at Merrill Gardens offers clean, spacious rooms with personalized care, but the kindness and care provided by the caregivers is something to be studied. The feeling of the unit itself is calm but full of life- a difficult balance to achieve in the memory care setting. The Garden House Director/Supervisor Naomi studied teachings of the beloved Teepa Snow and it shows. It's not uncommon to see the caregivers engaging with the residents by playing games or puzzles with them, painting their fingernails, singing with them or simply sitting next to them in the quiet moments when a resident just needs companionship. I mean it when I say this place is magical.. and it's purely due to the Director's philosophy carried out by the kindness and warmth provided by each caregiver.

When looking for a place for mom, I visited many locations in South King county. Merrill Gardens at Auburn was clearly a notch above with a very competitive price point. From the moment we walked in, the setting, the staff, the residents, we knew we were home. The setting promotes an active community and high quality of everyday life. The staff is clearly devoted, caring and professional - striving to work with people individually allowing residents to age in place with dignity. Merrill Gardens has changed my paradigm of assisted living. You will see me there regularly with my mom, making new friends and enjoying all there is to offer - everyday events, anytime dining, singing karaoke and enjoying Happy Hour! My dad moved into assisted living at Merrill Gardens (Auburn) 9 months ago and we couldn't be more pleased. The staff is wonderful, the events & activities are so fun, the food is great and the overall care is loving. We see our dad busy living, getting to build wonderful friendships with other residents, and able to be supported in his independence.

I first contacted Merrill Gardens at Auburn in June as I was looking for assisted living for my mother. I live out of state and was concerned about finding the right place for her. I spoke with Ardeana and she was so very helpful in her information of Merrill Gardens. Ardeana addressed all my questions and concerns as well as my mothers concerns at the time of her appointment to look further into Merrill Gardens. Ardeana was so very caring and engaged and was such a wonderful resource throughout the process. Thank you Merrill Gardens and Ardeana for all your efforts and assistance you provided during this time.

Ardeana is gracious, passionate to help, full of knowledge in her field and has many attributes that makes her a TRUE AND COMPLETE HUMAN BEING. My parents have been living there for over six months. The accommodations are lovely, clean, well appointed. Someone comes to clean their apartment weekly. They offer free transportation to the grocery store, pharmacy, and doctors office. Plus, there are scheduled fun outings, as well as nightly movies in the on-site theater, and a variety of other planned activities for residents. There is a handyman on staff, friendly and very helpful. All of the staff are wonderful, as are the residents. All would be perfect, were it not for the meals. Its not uncommon to wait 12 hour to get a menu. The food service is slow, and the menu choices have decreased significantly in the last month. A couple of weeks ago my family joined my parents for dinner at Merrill Gardens. We were served in about 45 minutes. The mashed potatoes, vegetables and lamb stew were cold. The servings sizes are small, but approximately 12 ounce of meat in the stew was ridiculous. The other day I asked another resident what he thought of the food service (just to make sure my parents werent being too picky). His one word response was, Terrible.
