Buyer beware, read the contract carefully! After my mother moved out of her apartment in The Gables and into assisted living, my family spent more than $25,000 paying for a vacant apartment until it was resold. The contract says that you must pay the FULL monthly service fee for a vacant apartment, just as if there is someone living there, eating three meals a day and using all the services. My mother moved out before November 1st and the apartment wasn't sold until the following September. We paid almost $3k a month for the vacant space. Of course, we think some sort of minimum maintenance fee to keep the lawn mowed/roads plowed, heat on, would be fair. We think having to pay the full monthly service fee is unfair and greedy.

We are so happy we made the move to The Gables at East Mountain. The accommodations are extremely comfortable and bright with large widows and views of lush grounds and nature. Not to mention the clean white snow and pathways in the winter. Inside the common areas are beautiful. The residents are full of smiles, conversation and fun. It shows how happy we are here. There are an enormous number of activities to choose from. Keith our chief and his assistants are outstanding. He serves delicious healthy meals. All The Gables staff are awesome and eager to help when requested. A wonderful and satisfying place to enjoy the rest of our lives.

My husband and I came here recognizing that at our advanced age it was time for the security of community.This place is perfect. The staff is warm, skilled, anxious to serve, and eager to please. The residents are warm, open, and friendships form readily.The facility itself is beautifully maintained with the public rooms gracious and homelike. Even more important the apartments offer a choice of floor plans to meet your needs. A variety of activities are offered so that you can participate, as often as you like, or not at all. Your choice. No pressure.. A five star facility in every way.

We were looking for a relative who might need assisted living. This is a well maintained, attractive facility. There are lots of activities. There are not many alternatives in the area so its good that The Gables seems like a good vice.
