Maple Ridge – Reviews
September 2024
After taking care of my Grandmother for almost a year and a half with dementia, it was time to find her a facility. I had researched a few on my own and when the Director reached out from Maple Ridge Memory Care, it felt right. She was incredibly patient with myself and my grandmother. She found a way for my grandmother to move in fairly quickly, until I could figure finances out. My grandmother has since thrived there. She loves all the staff, as do I. Maple Ridge Memory Care, allows her to have the freedom she needs, while also making sure she's engaging with some activities. She's still allowed to make her own choices, which I think is very important for her. Whenever there's a problem, or if I just call to check in, everyone knows what's going on and knows how she's doing. No questions asked. I couldn't be more pleased with finding such a caring-safe place for my grandmother.

I want to express the appreciation to all the staff here. My mother in law, Shirley was struggling in the beginning of all the changes but let me tell you thr staff are amazing and the facility is just amazing as well. Very bright and pretty as Shirley would say every day! It's clean and always activities going on. People great us w smiles and just love Otis our 9mth old golden double as well. I would recommend this Memory Care to very I know that has a family member struggling w Dementia. It's a bit of a drive for us but so worth it when your family needs proper caring for every day. So to the staff - Again… thank you for giving it all you had for Shirley. I know she was special to all of you she also had a special place for all of you.

My mother has thrived at Maple Ridge after a long difficult decline at home due to dementia. The initial transition was challenging due to my mother's medical problems but the staff have been very attentive, caring and nurturing from the beginning. I can feel comfortable that my mother is safe, happy, and well taken care of when I am not there. I highly recommend this facility for anyone looking for a home for their loved one with dementia. One of the best care facilities in the country!

My father received negligent care from Maple Ridge Memory Care. He went over a month without an attempted shower, change of clothing or teeth brushed. The minuscule amount of records they keep were clear that he routinely did not receive care outlined on his care plan. The head nurse said about the records “I literally shove them in a drawer & never look at them.” He was forced to use bath towels to clean himself after toileting because they did not keep toilet paper in his room. We delivered feedback to every person on every level but things continued at substandard care. Please read the licensing report dated 10-13-23 before considering this place. 3 months after intake, $50,000 given to Maple Ridge & now we are forced to move due to their negligence.

When my loved one was in a crisis and I needed to find a secure place with people who were knowledgeable and caring, I found Maple Ridge Memory Care. The Director of Community Relations, Jane, was my initial contact and she worked with me to figure out how to make my loved one's placement a possibility while we were going through a lot of transition and and difficult emotional experiences. Once settled in, I was assured my loved one would be able to adjust to the new environment. There were a lot of challenges, but the staff and support from Maple Ridge were comforting to both of us. Alzheimer's is like a cover of darkness that slowly envelopes a person over time. I am so lucky that my loved one is still able to have some positive experiences with our family and awareness of who we are and what is going on around us, but I am also so grateful that in the challenging moments and days, when I can't be there, the staff at Maple Ridge are taking good care of him and I know he is safe. The facility is clean and well kept. There are daily activities with Bekah, and periodic outings or events, and many smiles and words of encouragement. They all really do a wonderful job. Thank you to everybody at Maple Ridge Memory Care! Angela B

Chronically short staffed because of low morale. Very few directors are willing to help staff on the floor, leaving unsafe ratios at times. Low morale. High turnover rates. There is no proper training done or license needed to become a care provider here. They lose staff at a much higher rate than they can get them. Staff are not well appreciated here, and it shows in work ethic. COVID protocols are slim to none. It is nearly impossible to find PPE on a good day, and it is unsafe for all. --My personal problem with maple ridge and relevant to travelers who research facilities before they accept a contract.— No overtime available! They removed overtime for travelers, but will continue to ask you to do overtime even though you won’t be paid for it. You have to continuously remind them of their decision. They offered me an extension on my contract here, and I took it because I care about the residents and it was convenient for me being nearly 6 months pregnant and leaving to go on maternity leave in a few months. They then cut me with no notice, leaving me scrambling for a new job while trying to save for maternity leave. No one cared to reach out to me, and completely ghosted me for days and referred me to my recruiter who then told me that they axed my contract because they were “moving from travelers” which they desperately need to keep safe ratios. This was after THEY offered ME an extension, making me feel confident in my income before maternity leave while also being a mother to a two year old. If I’d been given notice, I wouldn’t have been stuck in a bad position. They will cut contracts without notice and they are not afraid to tell you this either. I’ve seen it time and time again, but I didn’t think it would happen to me! Overall as a traveler I did not have a good experience and do not recommend working here.

For two years, my mom lived at Maple Ridge. Much of the staff became her extended family. She bonded with several and for that Ill be forever grateful. Even during the stress of the pandemic, the staff have been kind and patient, and I know my mom proved challenging from time to time. Trust in Maple Ridge to treat your loved one like a cherished family member. They excel at it. I also had the experience of encountering a former staff member during an appointment with my mom at the hospital. My mom had a bit of a meltdown. The skills the med technician gained at Maple Ridge helped diffuse the meltdown so that the appointment went on without issue.

Maple Ridge took good care of my father who suffered from early onset alzheimers. They made sure that he was safe and well cared for. Everyone from the housekeeper to nurses to med tech supported him in his time there. When he was passing they made sure to keep him comfortable. They also took great of my family as we stayed with my father in his end days. I am very grateful for all of their care and support.
