Father was an independent living resident only a few months and then required extensive surgery. A Brookdale administrator visited my father roughly every 2 weeks in his rehab facility. Smooth coordination of his care needs as now he requires assisted living. Staff is friendly snd caring without a lot of turnover, which is noteworthy!

I had the pleasure of touring the full facility and it is extremely impressive. I can't imagine a better place for your loved ones that need assistance as they get older. Their staff is so friendly and welcoming. They have an abundance of activities to keep their residents stimulated and healthy. My grandfather had Alzheimer's and I wish the facility he was in had been as nice as this one.

My mother-in-law is in memory care. My wife checks in on her a couple times a week. It’s a difficult phase of life for the residents and I’m sure not the easiest work environment. My observation is that people are well cared for. It’s not cheap, but that’s more the fault of the system. And you get what you pay for.

My husband and I moved to Brookdale Chambrel Williamsburg 4+ years ago due to my husband's Alzheimer's. We lived together at Clara Bridge Crossing. When my husband declined, he moved to Clara Bridge, a full memory care building. I moved to Independent Living (IL). I could visit him anytime I wanted which was daily until he passed. I was glad to stay in IL even when my daughter asked me to move in with them. I have great friends here. There are lots of activities, performance and concerts; exercise and pool classes are the best. Some activities are led by residents themselves. Food is outstanding, beat food on cruises! Chef has weekly chat with residents and is responsive to our suggestions. Staffs are very friendly and helpful, engage residents all the time, know you by name and your dietary requirement. Maintenance crew responds quickly and all issues are followed up by the Front Desk for completion. The Ground is beautiful and clean, nice to have walks; deer and many types of bird are often seen. The rate increases in the past 2 years were high and Director here said he works hard to reduce costs, hopefully the rate increase will be much lower. I've seen big improvements in every aspect through the years and I love to call Brookdale Chambrel my home!

I visited a friend for the first time in the apartments.. she previously had sold her home and moved into one of the cottages on the property but with the rent increases this had become too costly for her. I worry that she will next be priced out of the apartment. The property itself looks nice and staff are friendly. I know several of the staff from living in the Williamsburg area and all of them are caring individuals. I do not like having to sign using my cell phone to receive your spam to request a review.

Just wanted to leave a most positive review for the resident staff and nursing staff at Brookdale Chambrel Williamsburg. I could not be more satisfied with my recent experience with the nursing staff at the memory care AL2 facility. From the beginning to the end, my friend Airforce Major Harold Nelson Jr. was handled with compassionate care, a level which he did not experience with previous assisted living care givers. Specifically, I would like to applaud Rhonda Rinehimer for exceptional professionalism and excellent follow-up. Brookdale should be very proud of her. Another person, who was a joy to speak with, was Brookdale's telephone answering coordinator, Shawntae. What a pleasant person on the phone and in person. She is truly a delightful person and one that Brookdale should be proud to have on their team. Lastly, I would also like to commend the concierge's of AL2, and most especially, Beth, who really is a problem solver for those of us that need help navigating through the many decisions required when involved with care-giving institutions. Brookdale Chambrel Williamsburg is a perfect home for my Mom. She was living alone in a rural area, in a different state, before Brookdale and was very isolated. With her close by I can visit regularly. I love going to the beautiful pool with her and playing scrabble with other residents in the game room. It feels like home. Her mood and outlook totally changed after the move. All the staff members, from maintenance to housekeeping to reception and nursing staff, greet her by name. They all know her well. The monthly birthday party was especially wonderful, the food and entertainment were exceptional. All events Include the management staff and everyone is encouraged to participate. And it is the most affordable place in town. I’m very happy with Brookdale Chambrel and would highly recommend it anyone.

My family member has been a part of Brookdale since 2018 and I can't think of one negative experience. The staff has always been great! Many of them work all over the campus so when my family member moved to memory care, they already knew her, which was very helpful in the transition. While in independent living I requested maintenance support, wellness checks, medicine administration etc. and I was always very comfortable knowing that I didn't have to follow up, because things would be done right the first time. I have recommended Brookdale many times over.

I want to share our experience at Brookdale. My mother at 96 moved into an independent living apartment. It was roomy and had a wonderful balcony to enjoy the outdoors. She was able to connect easily with a group of other residents and had multiple options for activities and hobbies. She especially enjoyed volunteering in the wonderful library and crocheting blankets for soldiers. There were often special occasion luncheons and parties. Transportation for doctor appointments and shopping was available as well. She loved the food and enjoyed telling me her menu choices for the week. The absolute best thing about her experience there was the people who worked there. They were compassionate, caring and always had a smile and personal word with my mother and me since I visited often. She loved everything about her life there.

Because of the virus there are only a few people allowed in an activity at a time. I have had trouble getting acclimated because rules change often and communication is difficult. Many times phone calls are not acknowledged and the director does not return calls. I think the place is mismanaged but because of the virus I really can't tell. The first week is good but after that you're on your own unless you complain and that is embarrassing for me. I fear I will get a bad name if I ask for help too muchh.

The time came when my husband and I needed to search for an independent living community. We had previously looked in Richmond, Irvington, and Williamsburg, VA for a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment. The idea of being charged a buy-in fee over $200,000 seemed exorbitant with an additional monthly fee of over $5,000. This was not the case at Brookdale Chambrel Williamsburg Searching further, we found Brookdale Chambrel Williamsburg, where no hefty move in fees are charged and a variety of apartments and cottage sizes were available. This community offers independent and assisted living, as well as a beautiful new facility for Alzheimer’s and Dementia care. The camaraderie and resident engagement is what makes Brookdale Chambrel Williamsburg stand out amongst other senior living communities. With daily schedules that include musical presentations, bridge, bible study, on-campus church services, exercise classes, discussions on health and nutrition, and other social events, we are consistently engaged throughout the day. With the arrival of hot weather, the opening of our outdoor swimming pool will be a popular area for us residents to do water aerobics, or just soak up the sun with a good book to read. Our library is filled with a good variety of reading material. Our residents from many locations are friendly and interesting to become acquainted with. Come check us out.
