This review is exclusively for the Infusion Clinic at Fauquier Health, not the hospital in general. I can't say enough good about the Infusion Clinic. The nurses there are top notch; kind, caring, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, attentive. I always know I'll be well taken care of by them. If you're needing infusion services, I highly recommend the clinic at Fauquier Health.

On 9-27-24, i had my routine blood draw. The whole process, from Peggy at the front desk, to Kora, who actually did the blood draw, was very good. Both ladies were very nice, helpful and polite. Kora was possibly the best I've experienced for the blood draw itself.

My mom had surgery at this hospital. She had to stay 7 days until she was stable. In those 7 days the nurses, technicians, cleaning staff, cafeteria staff, EVERYONE was so nice and caring. My mom felt very comfortable there. We would definitely recommend this hospital.

My father arrived at Fauquier ER by ambulance from a nearby assisted living with symptoms of a stroke. By the time I arrived to meet him, he was already in CT. The results were available within minutes and it was confirmed. A helicopter arrived shortly thereafter and he was flown to Fairfax where he successfully underwent an embolectomy. The staff was incredible! The nurses and the ER doctor were fast, smart, confident, professional and compassionate. They even called the next day to see how he was doing. This was Monday, September 9 in the morning. Please find them and let them Know we appreciate them. Thank you so much!!!

DO expect many separate bills (they warned us in advance): at least one for the service if not more, one for each Doctor, MPA, Individual you speak to etc. A trip to this ER will keep you paying bills for many months. My Insurance company even submitted that I should call the Hospital to verify one where I was charged a Medicaid fee of some sort. I haven't had the opportunity to call yet. However, I do not have Medicaid or Medicare. I'm not 65, and I have a reputable Insurance. Our first visit for lower stomach pain was at the end of a Midnight Doctor's shift. I believe we may have awakened her. She came in and very drowsily said she knew what was wrong and ordered a CT Scan. We never saw her again. But believe me, we were billed separately for her five minutes of trouble. A very nice Doctor replaced her and came around eventually and reported it was Diverticulosis, prescribed Meds, and sent us on our way. Two months later a repeat trip, another Diverticulosis in a different location. More Meds were prescribed. The total they attempted to charge my Insurance Company for two trips to the ER, and the two subsequent CT scans (not to mention a few hours of their time combined) was over TWENTY Thousand Dollars. It is yet another symptom of the out-of-control profit taking in this Country. If they can think of any way whatsoever to make more money off of you and your Insurance Company they will. TWENTY thousand dollars... My out of pocket costs, due to their exorbitant billing, has so far come to almost two thousand. What do people do without Insurance? And truly, as Hospitals & Pharmaceuticals enjoy their magnificent profits, are we paying for those who cannot? Or is it for their own advancing technology, the fine landscaping, and fresh paint? I have to keep in mind when I do call the billing department, that the individual I'm talking to probably is making barely twenty thousand dollars a year before being taxed to death -- where this Hospital netted that in less than five hours total. Two stars because they correctly and relatively politely identified why my wife was in such agony. If it weren't for the kinder of the two Doctors, I would give Fauquier Hospital a one for their greed and bilking Insurance and their customers.

Cannot speak to the rest of the hospital, but I had a baby boy naturally at this hospital (my first) and it was a wonderful experience. The nurses and doctor were stunning, and I could not have made it through without them. Stellar care in the birth center, would and will recommend it to everyone I know in the area.

For the likes of me, I can't understand why there are so few stars for this Wonderful Hospital. It should be a 5 star, and at the very least a 4 star. I was here several months ago for 4 days and 3 nights. And everyone, and I mean Everyone (nurses, doctors, staff, etc.) was 100% friendly, nice, and 'competent'. They quite frankly saved my life! And I will forever be Grateful. .. Yes it is an old building/facility, and it has it's issues, but the people who work here are the salt of the earth and the most valuable members of society and the human race. God Bless Them All!! ..especially the nurses.

Awesome service A Beacon of Excellence in Emergency Care: My Experience at Fauquier Hospital Navigating the daunting journey of acute medical conditions can often be a tumultuous endeavor, punctuated by visits to numerous healthcare facilities in search of both relief and answers. It was amidst such a journey, grappling with the excruciating pain of kidney stones and with a scheduled procedure on the horizon, that I found myself seeking emergency care at various hospitals. Yet, it was my recent visit to Fauquier Hospital that stood out as a paragon of medical excellence and compassionate care, setting a new benchmark for what patients should expect from their healthcare experience. Upon our arrival, my significant other and I were immediately struck by the palpable sense of professionalism and warmth that permeated every interaction. From the front desk to the emergency room, each staff member exuded a level of knowledge, efficiency, and courtesy that was both reassuring and remarkable. This seamless blend of expertise and empathy was evident in every facet of our experience, creating an environment where anxiety was replaced with assurance. Central to our exceptional experience was Dr. Eric Ahlers MD, whose expertise and patient-centric approach were nothing short of exemplary. Dr. Ahlers distinguished himself not only through his profound medical knowledge but also through his commitment to transparent and compassionate communication. He meticulously explained the nuances of my condition, outlined the available options, and engaged in a dialogue that made us feel both heard and respected. His ability to alleviate pain swiftly, coupled with his empathetic demeanor, underscored the high caliber of care that defines Fauquier Hospital. Equally commendable was the nursing staff, whose dedication and kindness left an indelible mark on our hearts. Although the name of one particular nurse escapes me, her exceptional care and support through the night were instrumental in navigating the challenges posed by my condition. It is to her, and to all the staff who contributed to our care, that I extend my deepest gratitude and admiration. Reflecting on our experience, my significant other and I are unequivocally convinced that Fauquier Hospital stands as a beacon of excellence within the healthcare landscape. The exceptional quality of care, the holistic approach to patient well-being, and the unwavering professionalism of the staff have firmly established Fauquier Hospital as our preferred choice for emergency healthcare services. It is with great respect and appreciation that I recommend Fauquier Hospital to anyone seeking not just medical care, but a truly exceptional healthcare experience.

My surgeon and staff were fantastic. They got 5 stars. But the hospital billing is a hot mess. I paid my bill 2 months ago and they kept sending me statements that said my bill was unpaid. The first time I called, they assured me that my payment would be credited to my account. It never credited. The second time I called they told me to submit my documentation to their support email. It's been over a week and I haven't heard anything from them. I alerted my credit card company and thankfully, they intervened. I really don't like places that are disorganized and leave me with a burden. I shouldn't have to fix their mistakes. I should send them a bill for wasting my time!

My review is based on a combination of factors 1. Birth unit: While the clinic OB team has been very knowledgeable and kind, the overall birth experience I had was horrific. I know birth isn't always a pleasant thing and hospitals have protocols in place on behalf of the worst case scenario that clinicians have to follow; however, not having the option of a birthing tub for labor which I specifically requested at the OB clinic and was told would be an option, then having to be put on pitocin for "in Kcase" of infection when my baby clearly wasn't ready to come, had a wonderful heart rate and I had plenty of amniotic fluid needs to be thought through based on the individual scenario and not a 24hr protocol that mandates anyone who has a leak be induced. Furthermore, I was placed in a horrible situation with an on-call doctor who I didn't even know that had the worst bedside manner imaginable. " First time mom's just aren't good at giving birth." "You need to try harder" when I had been pushing for 10+ hours was horrible. Then to be told," you're not producing enough. And looking at the amount I'm forced to pump and say," yeah that just won't cut it. You're baby is starving and we need to give him formula 24 hrsafter giving birth is horrible. Like no wonder women have PTSD and postpartum Depression. Someone easily could have said." You're doing a great job mama. You had a hard, long, labor. Usually those stifle production for a bit. Keep doing what you're doing and let's suppliment your supply until it kicks in more and we get you with a specialist." They also have no partnerships with breastmilk donors etc. They didn't have a lactation specialist either. Thankfully I had my own ducks in a row and had one on speed dial and got in a day later. 2. Billing -What a literal joke at this place. It's a year and a half later and even though I was told I was put on a payment plan and saw one come through apparently I got randomly kicked off and not notified? I can't get through because they use 3 different third party billing systems( none of whom can handle payment plans for the hospital and the hospital only has ONE person handling this.) I've wasted so many hours on the phone with the run around and am always leaving voicemails. It's just very inadequate. I think the staff are great and mean well. The nurses and on staff doctors and one billing lady have been nice, but the operations and structure aren't there to support them adequately.

Have had an extremely dificult time with billing. My son had tonsils/adenoids removed. They billed me over $15,000 despite that the online estimate on their own website was $6,000. They charged me for addl time in the OR and recovery although I was at the surgery and I know how long it took. I was double billed for anesthesia. I have been calling since Aug and am only able to reach the billing department who works from home, no one at the actual hospital.

This hospital used to be a thriving hospital. I was there with my mom yesterday. Some nurses were nice and some had the attitude I don't care. Alot of empty rooms on the floor my mom was on. I used to work there and it was a very bombing hospital. My parents would take me and my siblings there when we were little. It's so sad to see this. It still is a nice place but it's a shame that this place is falling by the way side. I heard UVA was trying to buy it. I hope somebody gets it and revives it again.

This hospital was phenomenal and deserves 10 stars!! We were visiting the area and are from out of state on vacation and my Mom was having a hard time breathing so we brought her to the emergency room at Farquous Health in Warrenton, Va. From the minute we walked in, Catherine at the front desk was very efficient and kind. The ER Nurse team was Kush & Dominique who were amazing! They explained all of the tests they were doing and made us feel calm in a scary situation with my Mom. Linda, the RRT was awesome too. Jasmin from registration was also great, getting all of the insurance/paperwork settled. Very nice & organized. Once we got a room in the 3rd floor of the hospital the great care continued. Tonya was the lead nurse w/22 yrs experience & excellent getting my Mom's history and taking care of her. All of the nurses on the 3rd floor were fabulous, knowledgeable, kind & thorough in explaining everything: Erin, Barbara, Kristi, Kellie, Sam. Amanda, OT & Kim, RRT. Chong in food service and Carina in housekeeping. What a caring team of staff members! They even had a "comfort cart" brought in by Lenny, who was a kind volunteer offering my Mom chapstick, a magazine, a sleep mask. The head NP was Gracia Smarte who was amazing! She has a Cardiology background, which was comforting because my Mom has heart issues. She was so thorough and on top of it all. We felt so grateful & comfortable with her. Thank you all for the incredible care you gave to my Mom. She is doing better and we can't thank you enough!!

I will start by saying the service was prompt. We came in through the ER. It was nice to be greeted by Sam and the nurses in the front. However, the staff seemed ill prepared to handle any administrative functions and the MD basically told us that my son's pain was caused from eating dirt. I don't expect an MD to give me that as a possible diagnosis. I will not be going back. I would rather drive 30 minutes to another hospital or clinic.

I know this hospital gets a good amount of criticism, however I am a believer in acknowledging great customer service and medical care when I experience it. Today I had my first ever colonoscopy at Fauquier Health. Dr. Harnden is my Gastroenterologist and I highly recommend him. Great bedside manner, highly skilled in his field, I never feel rushed and he is such a good listener. Everyone I came in contact with was friendly, helpful and professional. My procedure was begun on time, in fact I believe I might've even gotten in 10 to 15 minutes early. My whole clinical team which included Kim, Margaret, BJ, Tara and Rob were exceptional. They were professional, they put me at ease and took exceptional care of me. I hope they see this, because I want to tell them thank you for easing my mind during this procedure. As I said I am a big believer in acknowledging people when they do an excellent job and everyone I came in contact with at Fauquier Health did an excellent job. Janet Metzg

I have been getting my bloodwork done at Fauquier hospital for the last dozen years. The person doing the blood draw was friendly and professional. I get it done a week before my doctor's appt. to allow for the results to be sent on. Unfortunately, the last time my doctor hadn't received the results after a week so it made my appointment less than useful. The results came a few days after my appointment which never happened before. On another related issue, my insurance (AETNA, Innovation Health) contractually has always taken care of all my bloodwork costs. This time I got a $579 bill from the hospital. I called AETNA and they assured me I owed nothing. This was unsettling to be hit with a surprise bill. I will not be going to Fauquier Hospital any longer. There are numerous alternative labs for bloodwork. Update (3/7/23)-to be honest I added a star to my original rating (2 stars). I just received a call from Fauquier Hospital in response to my Google review. Fauquier Hospital contacted AETNA to confirm that I owe nothing and the bill was taken care of. Ironically, in the afternoon mail I received a second bill for $579. My guess is that this will be turned over to a collection agency despite what Fauquier hospital tells me. Isn't there any communication between the different offices at Fauquier Hospital? In addition to my positive comment regarding the phlebotomist I would also add that the woman registering me and taking my insurance information was very friendly, professional and had an uplifting perspective on life. Update 4/6/23. I received a third bill after being assured by a hospital representative a month ago that I owed nothing. They told me they communicated this with AETNA. On the same day I received the second bill is when the hospital called me. So, the $579 bill is still active. If Fauquier Hospital reads this would you please address this. I removed a star since this is getting ridiculous. Update 4/13/23. I received a second call from a hospital representative. I was told the billing office was separate from the hospital and they would contact them and zero out my bill. We'll see if I get another bill in May. Is this anyway to run a hospital??

Urgent care strongly recommended I go to the ER for additional testing and care. I was admitted into the hospital with a ruptured appendix and treated for 4 days.
