I've volunteered here for almost 6 years and I love the environment. Everyone is so welcoming and sweet. It's such a fun place to visit. There is so many things to do and they are always hosting the best events/ activities. I've been to other facilities before and they never gave me a positive and light feeling like Bickford does. It feels very homey and cozy.

I went there to inquire about a place for my aunt. I went without an appointment and unannounced on a Saturday. Upon walking into the facility it was very clean and smelled great. The staff was very pleasant and inviting. A med tech named Khandis, let me know that there wasn't anyone present to give me a tour, but she willingly offered her services. She did an excellent job giving me that tour. I could see how the residents loved her and offered her hugs. I was beyond pleased with this facility. I would live there myself. It's nice to see facilities that are ran correctly, thank you! Not sure if my aunt will be able to afford this facility, but if so I believe that she will not be disappointed and my family will feel safe with her being there.

My husband and I have had the BEST experience with Jenny Do. She has gone above and beyond to help us understand about Bickford and also about many aspects of senior care. When it came time to find a place for Mom, my sis and I visited quite a few places before going The Bickford of Suffolk. The moment we arrived we were met with friendly smiling people and knew that this was the place. We haven't been disappointed. Mom is so very well taken care of. It's like she (and us) have new family members but even better. Mom is very content at Bickford because she knows they care about her. They show it by their actions. And we all know that actions speak louder than words. Hats off to all the folks there for going the extra mile every day.

My mother-in-law has been at Bickford assisted living for almost 3 years. This is the most amazing facility. Its one level, always decorated beautifully, the staff is always smiling, and it feels like home as soon as you walk in. Everyone that works there goes above and beyond for my mother-in-law....director, nurse, kitchen staff, cleaning crew, maintenance, activities director, etc.. We are so blessed to have Bickford. The staff has family meetings throughout the year which is great. They answer questions, talk about Bickford happenings, and its a great way to connect with everyone. The director is amazing, and answers my emails and concerns right away. The nurse is also wonderful with communicating any concerns my mother-in-law may have. The activities directors are wonderful.....always decorating, having really fun and creative activities, positive, nice, and just so great with the residents. This past year with Covid has been very challenging. The staff has gone above and beyond to keep my loved one safe, happy, not stressed, and healthy. Of course its so hard not being with her, but I completely understand. Its more important everyone is healthy. I am so grateful for Bickford, and all they do each day.

Im the daughter of a resident who has lived there over a year. While my father has dementia, he is still able to do things for himself to a certain extent. He has fallen two times after which I have received immediately a call letting me know how he was and the extent of any injuries. A medical condition developed recently and the attention he got from the nursing staff was excellent which, for me, is of primary importance. They havent had any Covid cases so the protocols they follow are very effective and proof of their conscientiousness. Its small and intimate and I like the staff very much.

Placed mom couple years ago, she can be a bit hard to deal with at times..but they manage her well, she is at ease here, clean, nice, one down side, the food is subpar for the cost of facility. They need me to cook for residents...lol. Chicken salad, homemade soups, fresh lasagna, grilled pork chops, homemade potato salad, stuffed shells, Cornish game hens, corn pudding, seasoned snaps, butter beans, pot of chili on cold days, club sandwiches, fresh fish with oven roasted potatoes, asparagus with hollandaise, and good ole homemade biscuits with sausage gravy and potatoes, onions, kielbasa and roasted veggies..and my homemade peanut pie, coconut custard pie, bolcon dolce, bananas flambé, and my wonderful creme brûlée.

The Bickford is a family oriented atmosphere. From walking in the door it feels like someones house, warm and inviting. The staff is amazing and personable. The love and care they have for your family member is unmatched compared to other facilities. My family member has been there for 1 year and I cant see them being anywhere else.

Super clean,large areas for dining .Giant TV room for relaxing.a game room and much more.When my son.and I clean the upholstery and carpets the staff are extremely friendly,and get along with the residents so well. Senior Paradise !!!

Beautiful place. Unfortunately, it falls short in many aspects. They changed my fathers medication without even telling us, and that was medication my father was put on by his heart doctor, and after informing him, he was put back on it. That alone is a MAJOR issue. The Physician Assistant (PA) has an attitude. My father arrived the end of May, and ended up going downhill until he passed away in October. And to top it off, the Director never provided any condolences or said anything. Another facility in the area actually provides a memorial ceremony if one of their patients passes away, a nice way to show they care. Bickford doesnt do that. Pros - Beautiful environment, all on first floor. Jenny, the host, is very good at what she does. The maintenance guy is great and very helpful. Most of the staff are nice. Cons - insufficient care of patients for the money paid, perhaps due to needing more staff as the current staff is multi-tasked. I stopped by to check on my father one afternoon, knocked on his door, and he hollered for help as he had fallen and was laying the bathroom floor. No idea how long he had been laying there, or how long he would have remained there had I not stopped by. Needs a new PA. The Director either needs training or replacing. Never saw the doctor that supports that facility, EVER. All unacceptable for the amount of money (thousands) we were paying. EDIT AFTER OWNER RESPONSE BELOW: I find it sad that the first thing the owner says is Im sorry YOU feel this way, instead of Im very sorry for your loss. When the owner points out how I feel, rather than express ANY sympathy, or take any ownership of the problems, or at least make a statement that they would investigate and see what could be done better, it should be an obvious concern for anyone else considering putting a loved one here. Perhaps the problems start at the ownership level.
