I've been working at Chestnut Grove for a while now, and I'm so pleased with the environment here. The staff is dedicated to providing great care for our residents, and it's clear how much they love what they do. I work in the activities department, and it's such a joy to bring fun and engaging experiences to our residents every day. It's a wonderful place to be, both for the staff and the residents!

I have worked with the team at Chestnut Grove over the past 5 years. They are caring, thoughtful, and bring a positive atmosphere to Chestnut Grove. The staff provides an enthusiastic and cheerful environment for the residents, with person-centered care that allows each resident to find their own unique place at Chestnut Grove. Over the last year, the activities and rehabilitation departments have expanded and brought new life to the community. I would recommend anyone looking for a caring and genuine place to visit Chestnut Grove.

My mother moved into Chestnut Grove about a month ago, having switched from another facility, Harmony at Hanover, that has gone downhill dramatically. We couldn't be happier with the change. The food is, as my mother put it, fabulous ... and getting compliments from her about food is difficult. The staff are also fantastic, and she's really enjoyed the activities so far. The building is a bit older, but the level of care provided there is outstanding. I'd highly recommend checking it out if you're searching for an assisted living facility in the Richmond area.

My mother has lived there for about 5 years, she's now in the memory care on the second floor. The staff is friendly and takes good care of my mother. Like a lot of other places like this it could be better but I've heard of other places being a lot worse. I would definitely recommend taking the tour and evaluating. I'm happy with my mother's care there.

Change brings stress and anxiety - especially moving into a new environment. The management and staff at Chestnut Grove have gone above and beyond to ease this transition for my mother-in-law. Words cannot convey the family's thanks.

My father spent 8 months at Chestnut Grove before having to go into a skilled nursing facility because of his failing health. Staff did an amazing job while he was there. They were always attentive to his needs and made us feel like he was there only resident even though they had many others. I would recommend Chestnut Grove for your loved one without hesitation.

I have without reservation entrusted Chestnut Grove with two precious individuals that I love dearly. I have greatly appreciated the professionalism of the management staff and other office personnel. The care and hospitality staff have attended to the needs of my dear friends with great respect, courtesy and kindness. I have been most pleased with their care and the value for the cost of their comfortable living in a well maintained facility. The food has been enjoyed and rated delicious on every level by them and by me. I am on campus two or three times per week and have experienced and observed the staff and happenings at various times throughout the day and evening. I have never witnessed anything that would give me cause to worry or be of concern. I am most pleased with the overall services provided for my loved ones. I would recommend Chestnut Grove without hesitation to anyone desiring to review further the accommodations provided at this charming retirement community.

I worked for Chestnut Grove for 1 year and 3 months . The nursing staff is fantastic the aids the med techs all wonderful people . If your looking for a place for mom or dad this is the place . I would have given 5 stars but I'm no longer there lol . Putting your loved one in a Assited Living is a very difficult decision and with so many places to choose from it can be overwhelming, but if you decide on Chestnut your definitely in great hands .

I've been working here for about three years. Yes it has it complication just like any other job. I've grown to adore the residents and to have an awesome team in dietary during the hours of 6-2. I love it here I get along with almost everyone here as well. It's a learning experience. One you work here one time majority of the time if you leave you always come back I've seen that so many times.

I am a Med Tech/CNA and have worked for Springhouse Management for over 10 years. Springhouse has managed Chestnut Grove since 2005. There is a true feeling of home atmosphere and a very family oriented community. They are always offering educational training in order to expand our knowledge base. Our staff has an excellent Team Spirit which enables us to all work together very well for our residents.

I have enjoyed working for Chestnut Grove as a Nurses Aide for 15 years. It continues to be a wonderful and fulfilling community to work for. The residents are very special to me and I consider them part of my family. Chestnut often takes residents on outings and they recently went fishing at the park nearby. We are also going to the ball game on Sunday afternoon to see the Flying Squirrels play. Chestnut Grove is a great place to live and work!

I was previously employed and I greatly enjoyed my job. Some residents allowed in should actually be placed either directly to memory care or turned away and referred to a nursing home. The staff was friendly. Yes at times we did what we liked but was well after or residents were completely taking care of. The new executive director is very disappointing to the position he has. It's because he's there and Tammy Brisbone is not that I give 3

I read these reviews and see most of the 1 star reviews are from people who either worked there or did not have the qualifications to get and keep a job. A job is not a right, but must be earned. The people there who take care of my mother are great. The facility is one of the best I have seen all over the country. Activities throughout the day. Mom is very happy there. I would suggest to anyone who needs a memory care assisted living center to go and interview Chestnut Grove.

My grandmother is living here. I disagree with the other review and think it is a nice place. The people are always friendly and the staff knows all the residents by name and seem to really care about them. I haven't met the activities director myself but I've heard all about her from my grandmother who thinks she does a wonderful job and says they all truly miss her when she's not around because it gets boring without her creativity. They have a lovely court yard and try to make it feel cozy and homely there.
