My parents recently moved into an independent living cottage at Covenant Woods. They love it! The home was renovated prior to them moving in and they were able to design the interior (floors, counters, paint, cabinets etc), and it is gorgeous! They will consult on your move and have specialty movers to assist. Maintenance is very responsive and will hang TVs and pictures, etc. The amenities are excellent! They love the food and all the activities. It is a first-class community and we highly recommend it. My Aunt has also lived here for years and loves it as well”exceptional accommodations, services and staff.

My husband, our dog, and I moved to Covenant Woods over two years ago to live in a cottage. It was wonderful to down-size to this smaller space and not worry about the responsibilities of home-owning. That was especially true, because I was care-giving for my husband who has Alzheimer's. About 6 months ago, the inevitable came to pass. Because of his dementia and the wandering that developed, he had to move into Memory Care. Now, he is receiving specialized care and, still in Independent Living, I can walk over to visit him in five minutes . I've been very happy at the way the staff here care for residents and never more so than when our county experienced a Water Crisis, losing all water services with no warning. Somehow Covenant Woods kept us supplied with bottled water and food, though the stores had run out of water, and food prep without water is no easy feat! Personnel including top administration stayed into the nights delivering door to door. The maintenance staff drained part of the pool water and brought it by and flushed our toilets. Can you imagine such service?! Our kids live thousands of miles away, and we don't see them often, so it's priceless to have the kind care that comes from people who are truly compassionate and concerned and not just motivated by their job descriptions. Friendly residents, great food, excellent exercise classes, paths to walk in the woods round out the picture of a space where I am SO grateful to live.

My father has had two stays in the Healthcare facility for step-down rehab. Both times he has been placed in the memory care unit. My husband and I have attended the "get acquainted tour" to determine if their concept fits our needs. The tour was impressive and the facilities they shared with you looked great. However, my recommendation for anyone thinking about investing for the total care concept should observe how the patients are routinely cared for and treated in the memory care unit. I have very quickly decided that when the time comes for us to need 24 hour care, we will hire private duty nurses to take care of us in our home. Due yourself a favor and observe the Healthcare Unit (all individual services offered) prior to making a long-term commitment you may regret.

Covenant Woods is good until you go to assisted living or memory care. They do not follow the medical plan. They do not walk the residents. Residents fall all the time while the CNAs sit in the main room on insta or tik tok. There is only one nurse for 2 floors. They feed diabetics mashed potatoes with garlic bread and give them pie for dessert. Get the picture? I am hiring someone to take care of me in my home when I am ready. None of this.

I enjoy painting at Open Studio with residents that inspire and welcome all levels of talent. Everyone is happy as well as all staff which gives Off positive energy and a lace you are happy to be. Also the food is excellent. The Farm to Table program insures fresh, healthy, and delicious fruits and vegetables.

Covenant Woods claims no wrong in lawsuit regarding aging. In my opinion they are wrong. They're employee was let go after a hospital visit. They're employee was let go PERIOD.

My Aunt was at Covenant Woods for almost 10 years. She started in independent living and transitioned to assisted living and then memory care. Every step of her journey was handled professionally and with care. The staff were always so helpful, caring, and compassionate. She received the best care right up to the end. Moving there was the best decision she made, she never regretted it. I would highly recommend Covenant Woods! Thank you for making her last 10 years the best they could be!

This is one of the best retirement homes in the Richmond area. It is a continuing care facility. Lots of amenities, walking trails, and a pond. Food is outstanding, and a farm to table program with gardens on site. The staff is caring and professional. Great environment.

Having lived at Covenant Woods for almost six years I can say that it has been a great experience. Great staff, great food, and lots of new friends. There are many activities you can get involved with or not - your choice. Wonderful outside spaces too.

Five years ago, we made the decision to move from our golf community home in northwest Henrico County to Covenant Woods. We could not be more pleased with our choice. Covenant Woods combines an upscale contemporary lifestyle with the assurance of higher levels of quality care if the need arises. We have been particularly impressed with the consistently delicious food offered in our four restaurants. We have weathered the COVID experience better than most communities due to very few incidents of exposure. This may well be the result of the benefit of many opportunities to be outdoors on the walkways, gardens and trails of our beautiful 90 acre campus. However, we also look forward to continuing to resume the many social activities at Covenant Woods as Virginia reopens.

Our family tried several meals on Wednesday and they were all excellent. My mom said their burger was the best shes ever had. The fried chicken sandwich, filet mignon and spinach salad were all great. The sweet potato and regular French fries were delicious, you might want to save the sweet potato waffle fries for in restaurant dining, they dont travel well (no fault of Fireside). We made several menu substitutions and everything was correct and our server was super pleasant. This is truly a hidden gem.

The facility is beautiful, the food is great, and there are always things for the residents to do. But what makes this place so special are the people who work there. Every time I visit my parents, I am amazed by the genuine care, concern, humor, and real personal connections that the food service and other staff have with the residents. It is a fun place to be, regardless of your age!

Very impressed with the senior living facility at Covenant Woods. The apartments are roomy and well fitted and there are so many activities both inside and out. The food is as good as any top restaurant and there's even a pub! Definitely one of the best communities I've seen.
