I cannot express enough gratitude for Jennie and the entire staff at Blue Ridge Senior Living of Richmond. Jennie helped us through a complicated admission situation on nights, weekends, and holidays and I am so grateful that this facility was recommended to us by other caregivers in the area. Their entire staff was caring and attentive, even though my father in law was difficult to deal with. They never showed the slightest annoyance or burden and always went above and beyond to let us know what was going on with him. We always found the facility to be clean and the food to be well prepared. Thank you to all of you for what you did to serve our entire family when we needed you most. You are all amazing!

My sister went there for a two week "respite" so I could visit family out of state, when I went to pick her up, she cried she loved it there so much, We decided to make it her permanent home. The staff is AMAZING, they go above and beyond for each and everyone of their residents. The rooms are clean, the food is great and it feels like home.

Mom moved to Blue Ridge September 2025. She passed January 2026. During her time there the staff was very caring and compassionate. I could tell they genuinely cared for her. I am so thankful we moved her from a more expensive but less caring facility.

My 94 year old mom has been a resident at Blue Ridge since September 2025, and we have found the staff there to be kind, caring and very helpful throughout the application process, moving in, and now on a daily basis. I've been impressed also in how clean and attractive they keep the facilities and grounds. We are grateful for Blue Ridge Senior Living!

If we had to choose one word to describe BRSL it would be "Compassionate". Jennie and her amazing team (Carol, Tammy, Dana just to name a few) genuinely cared about our uncle. They treated him with respect and always afforded him his dignity. We felt their love for him whenever we paid him a visit as he was obviously well taken care of. Whenever we had a question, Jennie was always accessible and ready to assist. We know caregiving is not easy but despite the hard work involved, they treated our uncle like family. They treated him the way they would want to be treated. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. You were truly a blessing to him and our family.

Exceptional, Competent, and Truly Compassionate Care My 93-year-old father was a resident at Blue Ridge Senior Living for 13 months, and I cannot adequately express my gratitude for the incredible, truly caring staff. My dad was very hard of hearing and had poor eyesight, which could have easily left him feeling isolated. But the team at Blue Ridge was incredibly patient, always taking the extra time to communicate clearly and make him feel secure. They truly got to know him as a person, and because of their efforts, he felt safe and genuinely trusted them. This high level of care extended to his medical needs. Over the course of his stay, my dad required hospitalization four separate times. The staff handled it perfectly every time. Their clinical assessment was accurate, and they made the right call. Most impressively, each time he went to the ER, he arrived with a complete packet of information”insurance details and a current medication list”which made the hospital admission process infinitely smoother for our family. This culture of putting the resident first continued throughout his entire stay. As my father approached the end of his life, it was the Site Director who proactively and compassionately recommended hospice care. She didn't just suggest it; she actively helped us get him enrolled. This was yet another example of their great judgment and their deep commitment to ensuring his comfort and dignity above all else. Knowing he was in the hands of a team that was this competent, this professional, and this kind gave us priceless peace of mind. I highly recommend Blue Ridge Senior Living.

We needed short term assisted living on very short notice. John Krug with Oasis Senior living was an immense help in connecting us with Blue Ridge Senior Living. There, Brigitta Andrew's made things incredibly easy for us! We were able to place our family member for two weeks, and the care and attention were excellent! Big thank you to both John and Brigitta for making things easy and providing a great place for us! You guys are the best!

The administration and staff at Blue Ridge have created a tight nit community that truly cares about their residents. They frequently communicate to resident families, provide numerous activities for their residents, and create a family atmosphere with how they care for their community members. My mother-in-law was at Blue Ridge for 11 months and we are very pleased with the care she received! The staff were pleasant, friendly and took very good care of her. They kept us updated when we weren’t able to visit and were responsive for the most part to our requests. They also worked closely with the hospice team and took special care of her (and us) as she entered her final days. They couldn’t have been kinder or more empathetic when she died and even sent us a beautiful peace lily!

My dad was moved to Blue Ridge during the COVID pandemic from another facility.Blue Ridge took care of the move for me. Maintaining A facility the size of Blue Ridge during COVID has to present many Unique unforseen challenges. Yet during all the time he was there my was well cared for and I was kept well informed of his condition. As Dad decline until his death there we were treated with dignity & compassion from everyone there.

When choosing a facility to entrust w/your family member(s), there are a lot of factors to consider. So far, Blue Ridge is #1 on our list! The accommodations are nice, the building is very clean. They are taking the necessary precautions to ensure the residents & staff are as safe as possible during the Pandemic. The staff there is pleasant, professional & very welcoming. During our tour they went above & beyond to make us feel comfortable. I think we’ve found the perfect place for my aunt & uncle.

In my opinion this is the worst management I have ever seen. In the past months they have had about 3 or 4 Executive Directors, bookkeepers, etc. My brother in law was there for over 20 years. They have had bed bugs 2 times that I know of.. The last time they threw away everything in his room, including his CD's and family Bible. They stopped his physical therapy for over a year even though I asked that it be continued. All of his furniture went somewhere and they could not find it until recently when they had us move him to a nursing home. In my opinion they do not have the best interest in their residence. I would not recommend this place at all.

The kitchen (dietary aid) need to be better manage. The employees in the kitchen need to be treated FAIRLY !! If not you will lose good employees!! no one employee should be doing all the work while the rest of the dietary aids are hiding out to avoid work!! Or leaving to go home early!!

This facility is far from the grotesque description that was previously mentioned. The staff is professional, the facility is clean and there are endless benefits from having family reside at Symphony Manor of Richmond. Family of the patients, the patients themselves and the staff are deemed as one unit, a family. My questions and/or concerns have always been answered timely and the resolutions were executed. Symphony Manor of Richmond exudes the feeling of warmth, passion and dedication and I am comforted in leaving my loved one in their hands.
