My sister lived here from Aug 27, 2024, until she passed from septic shock on September 30, 2024. She was quiet and never talked back. Her mind was very good and alert. She was in a wheelchair and unable to walk due to vein surgery. She was to be put in bed after breakfast and lunch to take pressure off the wounds on her back and butt. She buzzed for help, and the aide told her she had to sit in her wheelchair until she went outside. She never went outside and sat in her chair all afternoon. She buzzed for help to change her panties. The aide said, “Do it yourself.” And shut the door. My sis told me she thought she was paying for ASSISTED living. I thought so too! Another mean aide told Sis, “You don’t do nuthin’ for yourself. I seen you walking down the hall. You can walk!” Sis told me what was said and who said it. I went into the nurses’ station that day and the guilty aide was sitting there with another aide. I told them I wanted to see a photo of my sis walking so I could praise God as He had performed another miracle because she was totally unable to walk. I never got the photo! I was there visiting when my sis buzzed to be put in bed at 6:30 as her wounds were really hurting. The aide that came in had come in before and I had seen her in the dining area. I had never seen a smile on her face the entire time I saw her. She hated her job or so it seemed. Anyway, I left to go back to the motel and saw the aide Sis had asked to help her talking to two other aides just sitting there. She told me she was looking for help to get my sis in bed. My sis sat in her chair until 8:30. Took the aide 2 hours to get help. What a crock! Terrible! Two other aides were jerking my sis awake at 4:30 every morning to go to breakfast at 8. When I complained to the boss, they began jerking her awake at 5:30. Sis had been told, “This is your new home.” Sis told me, ”This is not my home at all.” I wondered how many other old folks there thought the same thing. Linda was a nurse who was very kind and Abigail was an aide who was kind. The mean aides I previously mentioned should not be working with old people at all. They need to find other jobs. Old people don’t need workers who are mean and grumpy. I talked to the “in-house doctor,” who is not a doctor but an NP, to please send my sis to hospital as I was so afraid she might get sepsis from her wounds. NP said NO that they would just send her back as there was no sign of infection. What?? Why wait for a sign of infection??? I asked NP if she had even looked at the wounds. No, she had not even seen them. My sis got a UTI on Sept 23, started meds Sept 25 and began vomiting on Sept 28 and 29. She passed away in the ambulance on Sept 30. So very sad. A friend told me, “Your sister did not die from old age. She died from neglect!!” I totally agree! If what I have written has not convinced you to stay away from this place, maybe the following will….My sis had kept a journal for years. Every day she would write what happened that day and what all she did. She was keeping a journal in a black spiral notebook at E H. When I went to clean out her room, her black spiral notebook was there, but 20 pages had been ripped out. ALL the pages she had written in her journal were gone!! Every one! I know who did it. She was afraid the truth that my sister had written about E H would be told. I had no last communication from my sister as it had all been destroyed. They had taken away my sister’s personal writings to me. That was totally wrong. They had absolutely no right to throw away her personal writings. I reported it to the boss but nothing was done. But as I said…I KNOW who did it. The woman who destroyed the journal works there, and she would look very bad if anyone else had read how my sis was being treated there. I met a nurse who once worked at E H. And she told me she had to quit and said, ”It was a nightmare.” I deeply regret having my sis go there. But if I can help any other senior from having the same fate, I am glad I could help. My sister would be glad to have helped someone else. Maybe the people who treat old folks who can’t defend themselves will someday get the same care that they have meted out to the most vulnerable among us. I hope other places who take care of old folks are kinder and gentler. Some of the people who gave E H 5 stars work there!!! DUH! Heaven help us.

By far the best hands on Assisted living community I've ever worked. Awesome leadership far as the Director Jennifer and The Residents Care Coordinator Shontell . These ladies has made this place home indefinitely. Jennifer and Shontell both care and pay attention to every single resident and staff , on behalf of our team we enjoy working day to day with our Residents , we are a family, We care. I am proud to be apart of such an amazing Team and would enjoy seeing new smiling faces. Home Away From Home.

The staff at Elizabeth House are absolutely wonderful, especially weekdays. They really care about my Father and have the patience and compassion necessary for him. The Administrator (M.S.) is awesome. You can tell that she and the staff are in the field they love.
