I have nothing but good things to say about The Laurels facility and staff. It was cleaner than the hospital by far. The staff, administrators, nurses, and CNA’s have been some of the kindest, most patient and respectful that I have ever encountered. You hear so many bad things about nursing facilities a lot, but there is nothing bad I can say about The Laurels. We were blessed to have a private room and be able to stay in the room with Mom and I seen nothing but good, kindness and compassion for my Mom. Thank you all so much for making her stay there a good experience for her and our family.

No one ever dreams that their parent will end up in a nursing home and our decision has caused loads of guilt. With that said, The Laurels has been an amazing place for my dad. From the first impression with admission staff (shout out Margie and Louise), to front desk, head nurse, nurses, CNAs and all the maintenance, IT, cleaning staff, all are amazing. The PT department is truly where miracles are happening. In 2024 and early in 2025, three different doctors told my dad to accept that his current state was about as good as things were going to get (long story but surgery, infection then 5 more surgeries in a month left him with quadriplegia). Today I received a video of my dad taking steps with a walker. He was to never walk again and we were to expect him to be bedridden forever. While our dream remains to get dad home, the care and love he, and all of our family, has received is a testament to truly caring folks who make a difference, even if they aren’t told it often enough. Additionally: I failed to mention Nicole and her dining services staff and Cat and the Activities crew. Food is so important for folks in a facility, especially if they are recovering from surgery. My dad loves the food and if there is something he doesn’t particularly like there are substitutions that you can put in for on a weekly basis. Activities in a nursing facility require variety because not every resident is physically capable of certain tasks. With that said, the music, especially Joey Knott’s performances, are wonderful. Something about music taps into parts of a persons memory and you can watch the faces of folks who are transported back in time. Some almost dance with their wheelchairs. Very powerful to witness.

I give a big shout out to the team of The Laurels. Administration, to help guide you through the details, and Nurses and Care staff, who seem to really care and respect their patients. You get pushed into so many directions and circumstances yet you keep a smile on your face and treat patients with Kindness and Love! I want to personally thank Ruth for her care and patience! PT and OT, for my mother, was excellent! She is so much stronger and has some skills that can help her in the future. The only thing I wish they could improve on is the food. But I can't imagine having to cook for that many people. Thank you again for your care and love.

Overall the staff was kind and well trained. As is in most skilled nursing facilities due to understaffing the response time was a bit concerning. The PT/OT was great.

I am very pleased with the staff. The environment, the empathy with quick response time of all staff is so impressive! Each person has been personable including PT ( physical therapy) and OT ( occupational therapy, dietary, front desk, hair salon. I can see and feel the positive culture in the facility. I and my friend who is rehabbing at The Laurels would recommend this facility!

My Mom has been at The Laurels for several months after an unexpected health event. From day one I have not had one complaint. Her care needs are met promptly and I know she is in good hands with nurse Heather and her team.When we come to visit we are always met with smiles and all staff are willing to help with anything needed. I've only visited this facility twice and its been very recent and I'm not impressed at all. The first visit I found my person laying soaked in the bed. Clothes, bedding & of course depends....soaked! My second visit, I opened the closet in the room to get my persons dirty clothes and EVERYTHING smelled of urine. Not only were the wet clothes just thrown in the closet, but a wet depends was also inside. Looked like the clothes had just been pulled down...inside outward... and depends & clothes just tossed. I was there for 3 hrs on this occasion. Not once in those 3 hrs did anyone in nursing come to check on my person. Not too ask if my person wanted or needed anything to drink nor to take my person to the bathroom. A gentleman came in and gathered trash, dusted, cleaned the bathroom, swept & mopped the floor. He was very nice. Friendly and did an excellent job! The pt & ot worked with my client for about 30 minutes. They were efficient and polite to me and my person. I went looking for the ice chest at one point to fill my person's cup, but couldn't locate it on the floor anywhere. Two nursing aides were sitting at the nurses station on their cell phones. Another lady was on the computer standing on the outside of the same nursing station & another was sitting in a chair taking vitals. No one offered help. No one looked up from what they were doing. I stood there for 5 minutes waiting. Finally walked back down the hall and found another staff member. I voiced my concerns to her. She assured me she would look into the matters. I did finally get the lady that was taking vitals to get my person a cup of ice water. She offered her help when she was finished with her vitals. She got right on it as soon as I asked. Very kind lady. I did give a 3 star, but honestly its just for the pt/ot & housekeeping department. My person is still actively there so hopefully my next visit will be a lot better and I can update this post to a better one. Just please. If your person is there please please please check on said person. Make sure they are okay. My person is getting so depressed. More confused, and actually cried today. Broke my heart.

I was very nervous about going to a center, but when I arrived I was met with kind and friendly folks that made me feel like it was going to be ok. I am very happy with the care I have received. All the staff from bottom to the top will go out of their way to make sure you are being taken care of. My PT team was second to none when it came to my success. If I ever have to come back it will be The Laurles.

Staff at laurels Nursing and Rehab is awesome. Staff very respectful, caring and kind. On Sat, 4/5/25, my brother passed away in the early morning hours. My sister and I went to visit our brother. Which I visited very often. Laurels notified his son of his passing. My nephew didn't call his own family. Approx 2:45, we tried to visit. Nurses stopped us and ask who we seeing. We told her. She said we are so sorry but he passed very early this morning. We was heart broken because my nephew didn't contact us. The nurses took us to the courtyard and gave us tissues, coffee and snacks. They were so sweet and kind to try to comfort us during this devastating time . We again would like to Thank the laurels nursing facility for all their care and kindness to our brother. Especially Unit one!! Thank ya'll to the bottom of our hearts. You all are special.

My husband was in the Laurels for 4 weeks. The personnel are terrific. Kind and attentive. They just need more CNAs and tech Staff. We felt they were overworked, stretched to attend to their clients. At the same time, each of our interactions with the staff was positive. The physical therapy group was superb.

I know PT / Care facilities are in a very difficult situation, attempting to provide the best care for a large patient population. So I'd like to first compliment them and their staff, especially the nurses, on the level of care my father received there during his month stay. I will say there were some real stars there and the reasons our stay was so positive. Margie in admissions is a jewel, always positive and accessible. RALPH, in PT is the best and will turn your life around. Hannah and the social services staff were always there and provided information in a timely manner. I highly recommend this facility for exceeding our expectations and getting dad home.

I had my aunt at this facility and was so pleased with the care she received. I was taken aback with how clean the facility was when I walked through for a tour. I was greeted by so many staff that were all so friendly as I walked through that I felt this was the place she needs to be. She is home now and is still talking about the care she received from the nurses, the aides and the therapy team. She has said if I ever need to return to a facility, only make it this one!

For the last twenty years I have had various friends and family stay at the Laurels. More recently I had a friend there and she only had praise for the Laurels and the staff. She had been there five years ago and was astonished by the improvements in quality of care even though she had never been truly disappointed, she was very pleased and will definitely return if the need arises

My husband was here for 27 days once he was out of bed he was not changed for hours. He now has a bed sore on his bottom. His cellulitis recurred no one noticed except me. He was not shaved in the facility except on day of discharge. He had 2 cardiac events while there. Trying to see the doctor was a joke. He was available to staff only.

I stayed in this place for a week, and I wouldn't go back for a stay or to just visit anyone, the second night there was the worst that anyone could have gone through, I didn't get my pain or any medicine on the 11 to 7 shift its unbelievable, and the way that the cna talked to my roommate was so nasty all because she wanted to be changed, she laid in urine all night ,actually the whole unit didn't get any care on that night, on the last night there we didn't get any attention either, the cna came in around 6:30 to make her first and last round before going home, now I have a real concern about the residence in that home ,they are scared too report to the higher up because of retaliation ,so they won't report it, I know wrong when I see it because I have been a licensed CNA for over 40 yrs, so if you have someone in nursing homes pls ™ check on them as much as possible. GOD BLESS THOSE THATS IN PLACES LIKE THAT, THE LAURELS NEEDS BETTER MANAGEMENT, BECAUSE ITS NOT RIGHT WHAT THESE PEOPLE HAS TO GO THROUGH, AND IM NOT FINISHED YET JUST GETTING STARTED.

I previously had a family member at the Laurels. Their therapy program was top notch with caring and experienced therapist. My family member needed all therapies to recover from a brain bleed. The celebration as they left to come home was touching.

The staff took wonderful care of my father during his stay for rehabilitation after an illness. The PT and OT were high quality, and he was able to return to his assisted living community. There was plenty of staff available to help him. The facility was clean and orderly at all times. We were very pleased.
