I have the opportunity to visit this facility every week, and I can honestly say it is always a pleasure. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They truly care about the residents and work together to create a positive, compassionate environment. The facility is also exceptionally clean and well maintained. It’s evident that everyone takes pride in providing a safe, comfortable place for the residents.

The only problem I had was when I got ready to leave, I didn’t know how to get out the door. I guess no one is at the front desk on the weekends. I was going to look for someone to help but a young lady that works there was leaving and showed me the code. Otherwise everything else went fine. Mr brother in laws room was very clean. That was my first time visiting him.

My Grandfather is a resident here & he absolutely adores Ms. Breanne ( Bre ) she is the highlight of his day. He mentioned that when she stops in to take care of his room she does a wonderful job & is always a helping hand for him. Shout out to her for keeping his happiness alive © so thank you Bre! Nice facility. The managers and nursing director lead by example . They are great. The best wound care and infectious disease nurses in this area. My stepdad was there almost 4 months. We was blessd to have great team tending to him. If we had questions someone always answered. Thank you for all you do.

I dropped off a DoorDash one night for a nurse named Dutchess! She was so sweet and helped me get out of the building with no even having to be asked! If any DoorDash comes through for this location I’ll def be taking it again! Very clean, safe, and loving environment!

My mother is always kept clean and put in clean clothes. She is fed well. She receives her meds on schedule. She gets her hair done in the salon once a week. She is able to go to the bathroom on her own, but if she needs any help someone comes to help her. Her room is cleaned regularly. She is notified about activities, but she usually just wants to take a nap. I am always notified about any issues. I am very pleased with the care she gets!

Overall the staff is very friendly. They have treated my family member with upmost respect and kindness. She is very well attended to even the administration and admission director stop by and check in on her and her roommate. This is a daily observation therefore they do strive to meet the needs of their patients. When I leave I know she is being attended too

I recently visited a family friend at Westwood Center. I was pleasantly surprised at the entire atmosphere there. It was very clean and the staff were very nice and accommodating of us during our visit. I decided to inquire regarding a family member that we were considering placing in long term care. We took a tour of the center and I was amazed at the way that we would really be able to make her feel like she was at home here. She passed before we could start the process but definitely would consider Westwood for future needs.

This is a wonderful facility! Very clean, and everyone that we met was very friendly and knowledgeable. My family and I were going to put my grandmother here, but unfortunately she passed before admission. The facility still reached out and checked on our family to offer support during the time as well! I highly recommend them!

Clean facility, friendly personnel, and very hands on. When my family toured, they had several patients in the activity room doing activities, and socializing. Several families visiting, and all had positive things to say. The residents all seemed to be well taken care of. The rooms were good size too! My grandfather seems to be very pleased with his rehab care that he is receiving as well!! Highly Recommend!!

My brother has been a resident there for a few months and has been treated very well. It is an older building but well maintained. All staff the family has come in contact with on a daily basis have been compassionate, helpful and eager to make our brother feel comfortable and taken care of.

My mother was there over a month and my father was there for a month. Very friendly staff but some worked hard others didn't. The lights that are displayed through the hallways when patients need help would remain lit up for almost an hour at times. I do not recommend this place

My first visit. No offensive odor while I walked down the hallways. The residents that I spoke with seemed to be in good spirits. There is much I've not experienced so cannot give it a five rating until I have more knowledge. For example I didn't ask whether people liked the food.

The westwood nursing home is a clean place and what I thought about the nurses there they are nice at the least that my mom has is. They are friendly to visitors. Thank you for taking care of my mom.

They do not have enough staff my sister has waited on medical attention for bed sores since 2.30 when I was visiting and it's now almost 6 I called 3 times to the nurse station 14min then 11min no answer. This is not care.

I’m originally from NY and have been in WV for a little over a year. I must say this is the first Dr I’ve been to that has been thorough. Dr. Le explained everything to me in a manner for me to understand. He has been nothing but professional and efficient. He treats my family and I like family. We would recommend Dr. Le to everyone. I am writing this review from the perspective of the daughter of a client at Westwood Center. Our family faced many sudden "unknowns" when my Mother suddenly became unable to walk. It started out with an ambulance ride to an emergency room where we received very little answers and very little hope of getting her anywhere safely and quickly to accommodate this new trivia. With very little assistance from any other facility, Westwood knew exactly what to do to get her the immediate assistance we needed for her and they were able to do all of the behind the scenes work to get it done and have my Mother transferred to their center for skilled nursing while we continued to make plans for the possibilities of the future. They worked with her to stand and assisted with her newfound needs while Heather, the social worker at Westwood worked with me and our family needs to assist me with the guidance, resources, answers, assurances, reassurances that came along with everything else on the back end. (and made the time to communicate one on one with my Mom too and reassure her and her needs) Heather not only, "showed me the way" she taught me, walked through things with me, put her own hands on every little detail and made things happen and with no hesitancy and with no pressure to me at all. Heather not only knows her stuff but she is driven and passionate about helping people (which sadly is something we do not see enough of in senior care) she went above and beyond for our family despite how busy she was going above and beyond for everyone elses family, to make things happen and safely. I absolutely cannot say enough about her and how grateful I am for her but she is a nothing shy of a Godsend to my family and I am so thankful God put her on my team. I could not have done it without her. If Heather ever gets to read this, please know that I will never forget all of the help, love, support and guidance you have provided. You are a true asset to anyone that is fortunate enough to know you!!!

My father was a previous resident at Westwood. I have nothing but good things to say about the center. I always received reports on his care, his room stayed clean, and laundry done and returned to him. The center was great to work with my work schedule so that i could visit my dad when i was able. He enjoyed getting to go outside and set on the front entrance porch and staff was able to let him go when he wanted. Not just at scheduled times. Staff was very helpful from the time he entered the building till time for him to discharge

I'm forever grateful for Westwood and staff. When I sent my mother to them, I was giving her a chance. I knew I was losing her. But this group of people gave her back to me for a year. Mom was sent there unable to eat or speak; only screamed. Before I knew it, she was calling me and staying on the phone all day. She was eating everything in sight. Mom was spoiled, and I mean by everyone. She developed friendships with the staff, including the business side. Debra visited mom in her spare time and was always available to talk if I needed help. I've kept in touch with her, among others since I lost my mom. They're an amazing group of people.

My Mom has been at Westwood for 6 years. Before the pandemic, Mom's care was ok, I would say. The staff would usually eventually get around to helping her, but there were so many times the call light would stay on for 30 mins, 1 hour, 2 hours, etc. My Dad would visit every day and constantly have to tell the staff to make sure she had a sheet under her shoulders, make sure she had a pillow under her side, make sure the call button and remote control were within reach, etc etc. He was her advocate. Food was pretty substandard, esp for the money that they are receiving (around $400/day!!). Now that he can't visit her, I know her life has been absolutely miserable. Dad can't speak up for her anymore and I know that things are just not getting done. It's hard for him to get ahold of people over there at the desk (me too, I just tried). They said they would keep a phone in her room but that seems to disappear a lot or the phone number changes or it's off the hook or whatever. So usually we can't call at all. They have helped with Zoom calls but that has to be coordinated well in advance. So normally there are several days that go by where no one is able to contact my mother and say hi or check on her. And when we do finally get ahold of a nurse or CNA to ask about her condition, they always tell you something different and normally contradictory to what you know to be true or to what another person just told you. Information from there is extremely inconsistent and frustrating. I'm pretty sure that Mom contracted COVID but they couldn't tell me that conclusively - they said, "well, she was quarantined so she must have caught it". How don't you know for sure????!??!?!?!?!? It's a big deal, right? They move her rooms without telling anyone (so Dad can't even go by her window), and so much other information is hidden from us. So frustrating. What I would like is to have the same person, every 1-2 days, to call my Dad and tell him what is going on with my mother. Sometimes she has things that she wants the staff to do for her, sometimes she wants Dad to bring things to her, like food, or something from home, or just something to read. It's very hard to get information from that place - they are not forthcoming at all and they are not doing near enough to help the patients or the family members who would normally be visiting every day. My Father has been a resident sense April of 2020! He has been in 2 other facilities before this! I will say this is the absolute best facility ever! They have handle Covid 19 with Dignity, They have made sure that we have daily Zoom meetings to be informed! My Dad truly loves it there and so do I! All the staff is absolutely amazing and have the biggest hearts! They are truly heros keeping their residents safe and family informed! Thank you so much for everything

Not very happy the nursing was ok but it is an old building and needs up dated it smells like urine all through the place nasty stuff dried on the wall were they were not clean and really dirty carpets got mother in law transfer out within 2 days would not recommend this place to anyone
