My mom is a resident at Southgate. During my latest visit I was impressed with the “heart” of the facility. Four people that stood out for me were Nina, Kamie, Pam and Echo. Thank-you for the hugs you’ve given mom when we aren’t there to give them, the joy you bring to her days and the love you so willingly share with her.

My Mom and I have had the difficult task of researching a facility that would fit the needs for my Dad who since having Covid-19 has suffered mini strokes which brought on Covid Dementia. Kamie was extremely helpful and friendly from the moment we walked in the door. She walked us through their beautiful facility and introduced us to the Director and Head Nurse Kate. They were both very friendly and welcoming to us and our situation. They were encouraging and confident that they would be able to help my Dad. We were impressed at all of their personal relationship skills. Kamie gave us both a box of beautifully wrapped cookies and offered to help us in anyway we needed! We are so grateful for the extra mile efforts Kamie and Kate have done for us. We are grateful to them for their time and efforts in our behalf. They have treated us like family! This was my first job and absolutely loved it! It actually helped me decide a career path In geriatrics. Now I want to pursue the rest of my life helping and serving our older generation in any way possible! Its been about four years later and I came back to the South Gate area to work the same job that made me fall in love with everything I do. They love their residents and do everything to help them have the best quality of life possible! Even on the hard days we still are so greatful for what we do and the service we provide. The Staff are some of the most kind hearted, hard working individuals youll meet! The person centered care is absolutely fabulous as well. There is not one resident I dont personally know or have some kind of a friendship with! And the rest of the team thinks and acts the same way. Love love love this place and all they do for our residents!

A BIG YES! for Southgate Senior Living. I have a family member living there who is so loved and cared for. I have also referred several of my patients there, who have moved in and have been so well loved. Kamie and Kate are amazing to work with for any type of move-in. They make everything flow so smoothly. Plus they are SUPER fun!! I am also a big fan of how well the staff, in general, communicate updates and are available when needed. They are all very loving.

During the pandemic, Southgate has gone above and beyond in protecting their residents safety. One of the things that they have done is have a provider come in and see their residents when they are in need of medical attention. Doing this minimizes the chance of coming in contact with anyone that might have Covid-19. It may sound like an easy thing to do but witnessing the time it takes to coordinate this gives me a whole new perspective on how hard they work to insure the safety of their residents. Thank you Kamie and Kate for always doing whats best for your residents!!

I have the privilege of working with residents, administration, and the nursing staff here at Southgate Senior Living. I have the utmost confidence in their team who cares for their residents. Our team is in constant communication with their nurses and CNA's to help the needs of residents, which are continually changing. Their team, is available even after hours to help meet those urgent needs. The administration are highly concerned for the individual needs of the residents and staff- the culture is positive, gentle, and compassionate. My beloved parents moved into Southgate Memory Care together in July of 2019. This difficult step was made tremendously easier because of the genuine attention of every person involved in the process. Harrowing days were made easier for my Parents and for our entire family because of the attention to every minute detail and personal relationships that quickly made both of my parents adapt and feel at home. My Mother passed away a year ago surrounded by the love of her family and the love of every person involved in her care. Hospice care was introduced without a glitch and cooperation and ease defines the addition of that level of care. Now my Father travels the last journey of his life fully supported by the amazing staff. He feels content, he feels at home. My personal gratitude is profound and on behalf of a very large family we thank everyone at Southgate from our collective heart.

TEN STARS ⭐!!!!!!! Nina and the staff at Southgate Senior Living are very professional and genuinely care about the residents. Every time I visit my loved one, I hear laughter coming from the activity room with dances, games, special dinners, holiday events and other activities geared toward the elderly. I am most impressed as I watch the staff in day-to-day duties. They are energetic, smiling, kind and considerate to the residents and celebrate with the residents when a special gift like flowers is delivered to an individual. The most comforting part is Southgate Senior Living feels like home with its warm, loving atmosphere. ❤ I am very confident in Ninas dedication to meet the special needs of each resident as she has worked tirelessly until my loved one was 110% comfortable and adjusted to her new home. I am also very impressed with how the staff gets along. There is harmony and the spirit of teamwork that elevates Southgate Senior Living to the status of Excellence. My dad has been at South Gate for the last year. Hes loving it and doing extremely well. They take such good.care of him even the ED, Nina, brings her little dog in to spend time with him! My dad has done so much better since being at South Gate. A big shout out to the ED, all the nurses and CNAs for keeping my dad safe. Not one Covid outbreak!

My mother in law is in memory care and she absolutely loves it. She has such beautiful accommodations, the people who work there are great with her, she is very happy when I go visit and that tells me that she is well taken care of. My mother moved to Southgate in December, and though the change from her home was tough, the staff helped ease her transition and made her feel welcome and appreciated. Since that time, she has fallen in love with all the administration, staff, and other residents, and they with her. They treat her with dignity, respect, and love and want only the best for her. I am grateful my mom is safe, secure, watched over, cared for, entertained, encouraged, and loved!

I love Southgate ! Every single caregiver Ive met here is absolutely amazing ! From Robin who works the front desk to Margie in the business office and all the nurses and care givers Ive dealt with . A few people have come and gone in the last couple of years since my mom has been living here , and I love and miss them equally . I want to give a special shout out and thanks to SandyDelgado (sp) who is the kindest care giver I have ever met ! She takes care of my mom , who is in memory care , and is 95 years old . Sandy is the kindest caregiver-person I have ever dealt with . My mom was in another place before Brookdale-Southgate starting at the age of 83. She was diagnosed with late set Alzheimers at 88. Sandy has walked me through all stages of this horrible disease as my mom progresses ,sadly, through all of its ugliness. As sad as I am that mom has to go through these life changes , Ill forever be thankful for Sandy and places like Southgate that offer a place of peace and safety for our elderly loved ones . Its a scary time in nursing homes and retirement communities but with this type of facility, and care caregivers, I leave my mom in there care with full confidence that she is well looked after . Thank you Sandy and Southgate for the peace of mind and security I feel with the care mom receives.

We looked at many senior care places and were very impressed with Southgate. After my Mother-in-law moved in I have continued to be very impressed. Always nice and clean, homey and happy. The Staff have been just wonderful to her and really takes an intrest in her and us (her family). My Mother-in-law is in the memory care area and I have nothing but good things to say about the place. They keep her busy with things to do and encourage her to mingle with the others. My Mother-in-law has said how much she loves it there. She loves her new friends, the staff and her room and I might add, the food. Thanks to all that work with her. We love you all!

I was invited to attend a Valentines Day dinner at Southgate and tour the building and grounds. What I found was shocking. I was expecting a nice nursing home with bland but healthy food and maybe a piano player doing songs from my grandmas nursing home years. What I found was a lovely, classy, beautifully set table with Martinellis wine, and handmade chocolates at each place setting, and a dinner show featuring a really good Elvis impersonator who made sure that every lady in the audience got a little love from the King. So many smiling faces! I brought my husband with me, and it was as nice a dinner date as could be had. I found staff that dont like their jobs - they LOVE what they do, and it shows. The apartments are just right, bright and fresh and homey. Theres a beautician that visits twice a week, nursing staff is always available if needed. They also provide secure memory care for loved ones. They have completely changed my mind about assisted living. You can be as active (or not) as you like, theres always plenty to do, and the golf course view is delightful. Part of my job is helping seniors downsize and relocate as aging changes their needs and I would not hesitate to recommend Southgate to them or their family.
