The Charleston at Cedar Hills – Reviews
What a friendly and welcoming community! The decor is beautiful and the location is convenient for visits from all points north and south. The residents are raving fans. Be sure to put The Charleston on your short list of senior living communities to tour!
Incredible staff and very compassionate management team. The food is great and the community Is very clean and feels like a home.
Sweet, kind, beautiful, stylish, happy place for seniors. It also seems safe for all there.
Staff is caring. Plenty of activities and beautiful facility. They have been able to change care level needs based on the needs of the resident. Bingo in the doorways while social distancing might be a fun activity to try there?
The staff seem to genuinely care about the people there.
Most of the patients Ive seen here have all said they love this place they have good roomy rooms and great service for a decent price
Have a former employer that isivinh there. A verypvely assisted living center.
Beautiful, attentive staff and clean
The nursing staff and administration at The Charleston provided exceptional care to a Hospice patient that we cared for together. On several occasions Wayne, Leanne, Mackenzie and other staff members stepped away from their other responsibilities to help me make sure our patient was well taken care of. I would highly recommend the Charleston to anyone based on the great communication and caring staff that work there.
Great assisted living, excellent staff, the CNA help is the greatest.
I have worked with the Charleston for four years. I work in home health and hospice and I know the staff at the Charleston really cares about their residents and our patients. I have known their administrator for 30 years and know he is honest and compassionate. They treat their residents like family. When one of my nieces was looking for a job, I didn't hesitate to refer her to the Charleston. She worked there as a server and said the food was delicious!
Devin comes to visit our facility Pointe Meadows Health and Rehabilitation to meet with our residents. He always comes with a great attitude, fun activities, and delicious refreshments! Their customer service and representation is outstanding. Highly recommend!
The staff at the Charleston are always so kind and welcoming. Whenever I go in I am welcomed with a smile. They show a true caring atmosphere for all of their residents.
Taking care of my aging father has been a train ride of unexpected experiences. Getting him in to the Charleston however, has been one of the best things for me and my family as well as him. When my father went to the ICU and then needed assisted living, I toured all the facilities in northern Utah county and the Charleston just felt right. They have a kind and compassionate staff, the building and facilities are in good condition, they provide good meals and can provide regulated medication. They have graduated levels of care that have allowed us to increase the care as his needs have increased. I have noticed that the staff takes time to learn personal history and particulars of each resident. I am always greeted in a friendly manner by name and the staff always knows and calls my father by name. If your loved one is LDS, they have a great branch there to which the residents can attend. In the end, I feel that he is safe and well cared for at the Charleston.
The director knows my grandmother by name, the staff are caring and friendly. The food is great. I would want to live there myself!
Our mother was at the Charleston for over 4 years. Initially, she was not happy about having to leave her home, but we assured her that if she was not content, then we would move her back (she was having a hard time taking care of herself). Within a couple of weeks at the Charleston she did not want to leave and insisted that this was her new home. She made wonderful friends, enjoyed great activities, and was cared for by the staff there as though she was family. I would recommend this facility without any reservations. We are very grateful for her care there until she passed this last week. Charleston, thank you again!!
While caring for an aging father one of my biggest concerns was that he felt secure and cared for. The Charleston fit that need in a remarkable fashion. They took my Dad and treated him as if he were family. His time there was short, but he mentioned often how kind and helpful the staff was and how welcome they made him feel. The care he received was truly professional and exactly what Dad needed. If you are in need of an assisted living facility for your loved one, I highly recommend the Charleston. Talk to Wayne. He makes it all very easy.
I am a hospice nurse, so I work with many assisted living facilities. The Charleston is one of my favorites. It is one of the facilities that I would trust to take care of family. The staff were very easy for me to communicate with and they knew each patient individually. The patients there are happy and very involved in their assisted living community. I also appreciate that the facility is very clean, nice-smelling, and "homey". I have found that makes a big difference for residents.
Our mother lived in the Charleston for almost 12 years before she passed this past January. Over the last 12 years the Charleston staff has really made it a lovely home for my mom. They were attentive, kind, honest and made daily life a little brighter. My mother got to know so many of the aides and really cared about them. The relationships with other residents were positive. Meal time was great, classes were offered, the hair salon was so convenient and church was right inside the building as well. We were grateful that she had access to nurses and medical attention. All of her meds were watched over and administered as she grew older which was such a blessing. Having an all in one center enriched my mom's life and lifted the entire family burden as we knew she was in good hands. My mom loved being at the Charleston. As a daughter, I worried a lot about my mom who needed assistance to live. After moving into the Charleston, I knew she would be safe, secure, and the opportunity to remain active. She was well cared for each and every year. I would highly recommend the Charleston to anyone.
What a truly wonderful HOME for my mother we found in The Charleston. We wanted a place she could call and feel like her home. She has met many peers to become friends with and she loves the branch so she can worship the way she was accustomed to . I like how she is cared for from the staff. She is treated better than family and everyone calls her by name. I really enjoy eating lunch or dinner with mom because the food is prepared like a fine dinning restaurant. I really enjoy the other patrons at the center I and my mother have made many new friends. Thank you Wayne and Staff for being there for our Mother and family .
My mom has been at the Charleston for almost a year now. She has settled in her very cozy room and enjoys it. She really likes the view from her window of the beautiful mountains. The people at the Charleston are so friendly and welcome everyone including their family's. The staff is more than willing to help whenever you need it. It gives us peace of mind she can get help if she needs it
I have worked in many Assisted Living Facilities over my 17 year career as a PT, and I have seen a lot of good, bad, and ugly. The Charleston is by far one of the best I have ever walked into and worked in as a home health PT. Staff ARE Immediately present and helpful. I see evidence all around of residents being well taken care of. Rooms are clean and neat and tidy. Decoration and nice amenities are abundant. Its a wonderful place run by wonderful people with the highest standard of care. I would recommend this facility to anyone, including my own family. Meals are prepared well in an elegant dining room. And staff and nurses have been helpful everytime I have called on them to assist me or answer my questions. No facility is run perfectly, but this one comes very close. If you have to find placement for a loved one, start here...because you wont have to look any further. Jason M. Sumsion MSPT, GTC Licensed Physical Therapist of 17 years
My Nana loves it !!! I had the pleasure of visiting her ! Very nice place !! Great staff!!!
I am currently a Director of Compliance for a Home Health and Hospice company but have worked in the Community Health Field for over 20 years and am very much aware of which companies give good quality care and loving kindness to their residents and-or patients. I would rate the Charleston at Cedar Hills as a 5 for the caring staff they have employed there. I have visited this building often and have seen first hand how caring they are. Especially their new Administrator Wayne, he is a very kind and loving person to all of his residents. I have also seen how kind the Aides and Med Techs are to the residents, and know the residents really get attached to the staff. Frank has always been very helpful and has a wonderful smile that makes you feel welcomed and I have felt this from other staff members as well, but I do not know their names. I would also have to say that the receptionist Tracy is very friendly, kind and helpful. I would highly recommend this Assisted Living to any of my friends and relatives.
My mother has been staying at the Charleston for almost 2 years. I cannot say enough about how wonderful they have been. The facility is beautiful, the food absolutely delicious with a wonderful menu to pick from, The facility is always decorated beautifully, you feel as if you are walking into a pretty resort ! The staff goes above and beyond with gentle genuine care. When my mother broke her hip about a month ago, the staff even went out several times a week to visit her in the rehab facility !! They always show her such compassion ! I would absolutely recommend this facility for your loved ones ! Debbie Gallego
Staff was amazing. They care and love the people they serve.
We knew almost immediately that The Charleston was the right place for my parents upon our first visit. We had already visited several other facilities. The staff was welcoming and respectful to all. They made my parents transition much easier since they had moved from West Texas. They showed that they really cared. The food, activities and nursing support are definitely top-notch. I would highly recommend this facility to others looking for a safe and loving place.
We moved my father into the Charleston soon after my mother passed away. He grew to love the staff as his family. He learned all of their names and looked forward to the interaction with each of them. We loved that they would take time to talk and visit with him often. He enjoyed many of the activities and especially the church meetings throughout the week that he participated in. The only complaint that we had were that on weekends it seemed that his meds frequently got mixed up. They were quick to talk to staff to remedy the med situation. We would highly recommend the Charleston to anyone who is looking for a loving environment.
My husband and I have been serving at the Heritage Park Branch at the Charleston for the past 3 years. I can't express how much we love these people! They love each other and have a great time together. It is the most spiritual calling I've had - you can feel the spirit when you walk in the door!
Our experience with the Charleston and its staff has been exceptional! Living at home, our dear mother was not eating, not taking her medication and had become non-communicative. She was wasting away and she was just not the very social mom we used to know. We evaluated several facilities in the area that could care for her properly and we chose the Charleston. What a fantastic choice that turned out to be. In just two short months, mom was up and about, dressing herself, tidying up her room, socializing with other residents and taking herself down to the cafeteria. Did I say cafeteria? Its more like a comfortable restaurant with a formal menu with lots of choices. We have eaten there with her and the food was outstanding! But the best part about the Charleston is the staff! They are exemplary! It is clear that each staff member has been chosen for their love of people, their patience with the residents and their commitment to their duties. Mom was languishing at home and now she is thriving! Thank you Charleston.
My father recently moved here. I am very impressed with the caregivers. One caregiver in particular, Chase, has really made an effort to help my dad get his bearings and feel at home in his new environment. Also, I appreciate the friendly atmosphere among the residents. There is a really good feeling in this facility. Im sure the management plays a big role in facilitating and maintaining this positive energy.
I have been so impressed with The Charleston. From the feel at home environment, to the cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere they provide. The staff is so attentive, warm and actually take time to get to know their customers! So many rest homes seem bugged when you ask a question, or for any help. The Charleston does a great job making me feel important. From the bottom up this staff is friendly, professional and I highly recommend them to my family and to anyone who would trust their loved ones to such great care. Thank You, you are doing it right!
I have had the opportunity to volunteer several times at the Charleston. It is such a great environment. The residents seem to truly enjoy being there, and the staff is always super friendly. When my parents come of age, I know where they're headed!
Everyone is so nice and welcoming every time I visit my mom!
My mother has been living there for almost 2 years and loves it. There are activities and outings that I could not have provided for her. She has made new friends and is always active. She loves having breakfast, lunch and dinner with her new friends instead of just in front of the TV. She really enjoys the musical groups that come and entertain the residences and playing Bingo is a favorite, all under the direction of a fun activity staff. The staff know her by name as well as her likes and dislikes and make her feel very comfortable. The medical staff are always on hand should she need them and the location is near dental, hearing, eye and hospital facilities should she need them. It is a great place with great services and a caring staff. Couldn't have chosen a better place for my mother to be well cared for!
