Relative of a current patient. My brother was sent here 3 days ago, on a Friday, after he was forced to leave Hillcrest -BSW Waco. He had emergency neck surgery for an impingement nearly crushing his spine. His surgeon never saw him after his surgery. He developed blood clot in his legs. He is diabetic. He made improvements initially but started to rapidly decline in his condition and was in worse shape then he was prior to his surgery. In constant severe pain and unable to move his legs without excruciating pain , losing bowel and bladder function and weakness in his arms and hand. His insurance ran out an they forced him out and dumped him at Ridgecrest. He has been in nothing but an adult diapers and bedridden since. He asked for help to use the toilet and they told him they had bad backs an there were no "men" on staff to help move him. They told him to "go" in his diaper and they would back to clean him up" later. They do not answer his pleas for help in a timely manner. He asked for a shirt and they tossed it to him, rather than help him put it on. He managed to get it over his head and his arms through the sleeves but it has been bunched up just below his shoulders ever since, making it even more uncomfortable. I tried to help him pull it down but was unsuccessful and caused him more pain. He had food all over his shirt and bed because it is difficult for him to eat in that position. His hands are weak and the loss of dexterity makes it difficult to hold a fork or even hold his cellphone. They are not controlling his pain and he has to call repeatedly for his meds. We may have to call 911 to get him to a hospital . Which is where he should be. Neglectful , no empathy is putting it mild. I will also be leaving a similar review for " Kill-cres BSW Waco. The assisted living staff at Ridgecrest are the very best. My Mom is on hospice there and every one at the facility from the driver, receptionist, PCTs, nurses and director are extremely kind and compassionate. The regular staff is there on the weekends, not contract staff. My Mom had lived at a few other facilities but never did she get the care and attention that she gets at Ridgecrest. These people are the best!

Caring
Mom is moving to Ridgecrest. The rooms are large and nice, the staff is very welcoming. All the people we saw there seemed very happy. The dining hall was nice and set up restaurant-style. They have a full schedule of activities, and they enjoy it.

My brother, Chuck Riggs, was in the Ridgecrest Retirement Center for several months. He died this past February 26. I was able to visit with him three times and every time I came, I was most pleased with the care he was receiving. Your staff was always courteous and professional.
