Water is always off and during the last hurricane I did not have any electricity for several days. The elevator is always out and in need of repair. The food is tough and no flavor and not much of it. The people employed here do not speak English that well which makes it hard to communicate. My housekeeper does not clean my bathroom very well, and it is not clean whatsoever. Minimal as always done for the residents in this place. I do not recommend this place whatsoever.

Moving my mom out of Brookdale to NYC. This place is very well maintained. The food is so good, I will actually miss it. People are nice. Highly recommend if your parents need senior living.

I love this Brookdale! I have the privacy I want and the interaction with other residents I need.The staff is wonderful and very caring. There are plenty of activities to choose. I am very happy here!

My 87-year-old mom wanted to keep her independence and have her own little place, so when we found Brookdale First Colony not only the personnel, but the facilities met her needs, and gave me peace of mind regarding her security in case of an emergency. All the personnel from Administration to House Keeping and everything in between is very polite, attentive, and extremely professional.

It was a sad day for us to have to move my mom out of Brookdale First Colony. Two years ago, we moved my mom from her home in Florida to Houston. We are so delighted that we chose this facility. The facility and the residents are wonderful. My mom doesnt make friends easily, but the residents are so friendly that she soon had a group of ladies that she gathered with for many activities. They encouraged her to get out of her apartment to enjoy some of the many activities and special events that are available. The facility is well maintained, and my mom enjoyed the food. As my moms dementia progressed, we also used the personal living services and found the people to be kind and caring. I know its difficult to know which place to choose when selecting a senior living facility. We highly recommend Brookdale First Colony.

Forget the idea of retirement home (I know, it scares some), here you get the amenities, security, and resort-like atmosphere that will dispel any of those fears. The kindness, compassion, and care is terrific. Meet, talk with with Laura M. in sales, I was wowed and impressed!!! Totally dispels any fear, your parents will love it.

I think this facility is amazing! The atmosphere, amenities, and rooms seem better compared to other facilities for the price. Definitely the choice for my grandmother.

I am a Senior Care Expert. My job is to become intimately familiar with retirement living among other communities. While Brookdale First Colony meets the tangible property aspects of beauty, maintenance, safety, meals, and amenities, they really are well above expectations in the intangibles. Most importantly their staff genuinely cares for the happiness and well-being of their residents. That attitude is contagious among the residents who are very energetic, active, and involved in community events and social participation. Smiles prevail. Tomorrow someone may build a newer property, but they will be hard pressed to replicate the warmth and atmosphere of this wonderful community.

Moved aunt to Brookdale First Colony two years ago. Cannot be happier. I give a 5 star rating to all aspects of Brookdale - Security, Meals, Staff, Maintenance, Personal Support Services, Activities, Transportation, etc. Recommend to anyone.
