Over a year ago, we moved my father-in-law into Atria Sugar Land from his long-time residence over an hour away. His whole demeanor changed at Atria when he realized he was safe and secure and surrounded by people who cared only for his safety and well-being. He quickly made friends, and it wasn't long before the staff had him participating in group activities. Atria Sugar Land has a wonderful small-town feel that has everyone feeling comfortable and welcome in no time.

I have a relative living at Atria, Sugar Land. He's close to 90 years old. The staff are taking very good care of him. He is quite happy and has made friends; having settled in well. Recently he had an event which the staff recognized as a medical emergency. An ambulance was called and he was hospitalized. Now he's back and is doing well. I really appreciate the professionalism, kindness, and care he has been receiving at Atria.

My mom has lived at Atria for 2 years. The staff is friendly and the management team is outstanding. My mom had to downsize from her 3 bedroom home and was a little down when she first moved to Atria. When she got there I explained that it's like living on a cruise ship. Her cabin is small but she can go join others for lunch and dinner, they have room service if she needs it, they do excursions, have entertainers come to perform, have a chapel, a library, exercise classes, bingo and so much more. That seemed to put her at ease. Over the years she has become friends with the staff. I have Ring cameras in her room. I saw her fall a few times and the staff came in and hugged her and gently assisted her one even prayed and said she adored and loved my mom. That moment made my heart swell. Atria at Soldiers Field is amazing. I am extremely grateful for everyone there.

My mom has been at Atria since February. I live out of state and my mom was recently hospitalized and I needed assistance in navigating her care. Stephanie and Angel really helped me through her transition. I appreciate them and how kind the entire staff was on her return. The staff really makes her feel special. My mom couldn't wait to get back to Atria and the friends she has made there. She feels at home there which is so important!

This past Thursday I will have been at the Atria Sugar Land for just over 3 weeks. It is one of the nicest places I have ever lived. I am 73 years of age. The people from Administration to ALL staff, to the residents, are the most caring people I have ever met. I feel very welcome and have inherited a second family. They have more than met every need or request that I have made. Although there are many activities, Atria is a very quiet place. The meals are delicious and very nutritious and well portioned out. We have 3 meals a day: 7-8:30 am. 11-12:30 pm. 4-5:30 pm. Among the activities I enjoyed during the month of April were: Afternoon Tea, meeting new people; monthly book club, snow cones on the front porch, planting a succulent plant in a small glass atrium, Bible Study, making an art project, meeting with Chef to discuss meals, art class making an Essential Oil diffuser, and of course Bingo at 3 pm. 6 days a week. There are many more activities than these, but these are the ones I have enjoyed so far. I feel that I am a part of a real family. I am independent except for a walker. The staff gives me and monitors my medication. They also randomly drop by to ask if I am going to meals and activities. This is a small intimate family. I am very happy here and look forward to a long season here. Sharon Reeder

It's always stressful knowing if your loved one is going to receive the type of care they need and deserve. Putting your faith and trust in others is scary when it comes to such an important decision. I researched 5 facilities before deciding on Atria Sugar Land for my father in law to call home. Even with all the research you still pray it's the right choice. Over the course of the 6 years my father in law lived there my husband and I got to know the staff and many of the residents. We saw and experienced the care that was given. We saw genuine compassion, staff members go above and beyond and activities/events scheduled throughout the day to keep the residents occupied and having fun. My father in law passed in early 2020. His dementia in later years didn't always make things easy but they never wavered in their care or compassion. It was amazing to see how skilled they were in helping someone through difficult moments. A year and a half later it was time for my mom to move into assisted living. We went back to Atria and saw a lot of the same familiar faces welcoming us back with warm embraces. We felt like we were returning home. My mom has been there now coming up on 2 years. She is happy and thriving under the same level of care we experienced with my father in law. She loves it there. She would tell me if she didn't. In total we have been part of the Atria Sugar Land family for 8 yrs. One of the reasons we chose Atria way back when was because of a gut instinct. Hi Something just felt right. It felt sincerely warm and welcoming. Since then new facilities have opened closer to us with a more modern look and trendy decor. But to us they had more of a cold hospital vibe to them. The hallways were white on white. We love Atria for its cosy intimate atmosphere and small community feel but what truly matters is the staff. They are the heartbeat of a community. Today I had a question while visiting and Sherri went above and beyond. It was the end of the day and she had just finished up a meeting yet immediately offered to help. I felt so comforted by her words and actions that it compelled me to write this review. I should have written one sooner as I know that reviews from families and residents helped me when I was researching. I also met with Angel the activities director who is a rockstar. She is loved by the residents and her love for her job and residents is evident in all the activities and events she organizes. She even does my mom's nails every week for her purely out of kindness. I had no idea but it blew me away. In the 8 years with 2 parents having lived there I can honestly say we have never had any serious concerns. Even minor ones were addressed immediately and appropriately. Today I was reminded once again why we chose this place 10 yrs ago and rest easy knowing my mom is happy, safe and loved.

Once we were aware that our elderly mom would be best in an assisted living facility, the search began. We viewed numerous and we never quite pleased until we went to Atria in Sugar Land. Sherry Alexander made us feel that we were in just the right place from the very start. I had lots of questions and felt they were all answered with patience and understanding. After being shown around and introduced to the facility nurse, Kim, as well as Stephanie, Angel and the all the other staff (too many to name), it was apparent that God led us just where our mom needed to be. Our once tearful mother is now smiling and very happy. She loves her new place and we are so grateful because she indeed deserves the best! This is the place to be if you want your loved one to feel loved, safe and cared for....and the food is amazing to top it off. This is bingo for us!!!

We toured the facility during happy hour. It was a festive time with live music and the residents were happy and enjoying it. The facility was clean and nicely furnished. Every person I met was welcoming and friendly. Each person answered every question I asked. I could tell they were a strong team working together for the residents satisfaction. I would definitely recommend this Atria. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up.

Unfortunately my grandmother passed before we were able to place her but we were all set to choose the Atria in Sugarland because of the quality of care and time that they took explaining the process of the transition to us. Atria Sugar Land is hands down the best community I have ever experienced. Ariana and her team take pride in what they do for seniors and it shows! Management is extremely responsive, when family cannot visit, they find comfort in knowing they will be updated on whats going on. The care team does just that… CARE. And this goes beyond the help they give…they are stylists, comedians, and a friendly ear when needed. I have seen brand new fancy places fall short time and time again and its a shame. Trust me when I say caring and loving for someone goes far beyond useless amenities.

Atria Sugar Land is amazing. The only experience I can compare it to would be like vacations our family has taken on luxury cruise ships. Only this ship stays in port where the language and places are familiar so mom knows where to shop and where to eat out if she prefers. We chose Atria Sugar Land because my 86-year-old mom is young at heart. She has been extremely independent with driving, shopping, helping others who lived around her, doing her laundry, ironing, sewing, and cleaning the interior and exterior of her townhome. She has not needed assistance in the past. This year proved to be a challenge. Health issues prevailed. We needed to find a place that would assist mom in a few daily tasks and a place she would like. While she was in the hospital, I set appointments and visited all the assisted living facilities in our area. Many were nice and had a lot of what we were looking for, however, they each had different things we felt were not the best fit for mom. It is extremely important that she live a respected and dignified life even though she is struggling with a few of her daily tasks. What we found in Atria Sugar Land was ideal. Atria Sugar Land is a smaller community, the staff is upbeat, young-ish, friendly, and make sure the residents feel respected, cared for, and part of a community. They are not hovering over the residents with straight faces. They have wonderful, genuinely caring personalities. You can see they are happy to be there and happy to assist. They build the residents self-confidence and have positive attitudes. Because of the staff’s positive attitudes, the residents are happy and have positive attitudes. It is not unusual to walk up to the front door of the community and to be greeted by a resident who is sitting in one of the comfy rocking chairs under gently whirling ceiling fans. When you walk into the lobby you are greeted by a person at the desk who knows you and your parents. Residents are walking around getting an ice tea or a fountain drink in the dining room, checking their mail or on their way to a fun activity or to get a little exercise. The only experience I can compare it a luxury cruise ship. Smiling staff ready to have a good time and make sure you are having your needs met while on the ship. Passengers/residents can join others in the dining room or have the friendliest wait person deliver the meals to their room with a smile. No tipping allowed. The front desk or waitstaff will assist you when select from the pre-planned options for your meals and guide you to what will best suit your tastebuds each week. Passengers/residents have daily activities, experientials to choose from. The activities range from yoga, chair exercise, brewing hops, listening to live performers, chief led experiences, planter gardening, reading in one of the two libraries, gathering to watch movies or television events, bingo, and crafts to name a few. Passengers/residents can arrange for a driver and sign up to join others on excursions. Passengers/residents can always opt for a day of relaxing with a good book or binge-watching TV if they prefer. Atria Sugar Land checked all of the boxes for us. Mom enjoys living the luxury cruise ship lifestyle while also receiving some needed assistance. I feel she has her needs met which helps me relax and get back to being her daughter instead of her care giver.

My mom moved into Atria in September, 2019. She passed away last night of cancer. I cant say enough good things about the care she received. The staff has always be very caring, thoughtful, understanding and compassionate. They took the time to get to know my mom and comforted her during the beginning of her stay which was a trying time for her and they went above and beyond to make the most out of the very difficult Covid 19 lockdown. My mom developed special bonds with the staff who cared for her. And from the beginning to the end the staff was also there for me. We talked, laugh and cried together. I never knew that when my mom moved into Atria that I would be gaining an extended family but that is what has happened. Thank you to EVERY staff member at Atria for treating my mom with respect, who at 90, was a member of our society that is so often forgotten about. In Atria older adults are celebrated and revered.

Wow-this is a top-notch facility! It's got that small community feel (which was one of the reasons we chose it, over some of the larger, more institutional-type facilities). My father has been there for over two years now. All of the staff know the residents, not just their names, but their needs, likes, wishes, dreams, etc. They go out of their way to make connections with every resident. The staff is about the most caring I've ever come across. They go the extra mile, every time! I never worry about my father, because I know he is in the hands of this compassionate group of people! My mother was a resident for a year before having to move to another Atria facility that provided memory care. We were very pleased with everything about Atria Sugar Land. Marcella went above and beyond with engaging activities. Ruyakat, nurse, was always attentive and patient with the frequent changes to our mother’s medications. Kaitlyn, the director, was always accommodating to our concerns and our mother’s needs. All the staff and caregivers went above and beyond their duties. There are so many outstanding employees at Atria Sugar land. I could nominate the whole staff. They are so friendly, smiling and caring. My parents are very happy. 'There are two employees that are really an exceptional. One of the employees always has a smile, is so patient and kind and works so hard. I am talking about Norma. She has helped me so much in my parents adjustment to assisted living, is knowledgeable about my dad's oxygen equipment and is so patient with my mom. Thank you Norma! The other is Mike Brown. My mom has a serious food allergy and significant weight loss and Mike has bent over backwards to make sure my mom's food is safe and appetizing. She has gained weight and loves the food. My dad is a little picky and he has catered to that as well. He makes my parents milkshakes and has them delivered to the room. He is wonderful and my parents and my family are so grateful for the exceptional care. As I said, there are several care givers that my mom and dad really love, and it is hard to just pick one (or two). The staff is just wonderful!

At Atria Sugar Land we have so many outstanding employees. Two of my favorites are Ariana and Becca. They plan many activities for us. They are very energetic, friendly, and attentive. (2/12/14) Jackie has always impressed me with her professionalism. She has worked with senior citizens for about 25 years. She loves her work. Her many years of experience and her love of seniors make her a very special employee. (2/13/14) Another employee who means so much much to me is Rosilyn. She is so helpful and attentive when I see her with a resident. When she works in the Dining Room things always go so smoothly. She has a special way of helping us get everything we need and she is so quick to clear away dirty plates, so we can enjoy our next course. (2/14/14) Paul and Van mean a lot to me. Each of them has a passion for their work here. They are dedicated to the residents. They do anything and everything for us. (2/16/14) I love the food service department at Atria. Mike, Peter, Ross, Lilia, and Helen work so hard in the kitchen to prepare anything we ask for. Sometimes I don't want to order the selections on the mnu prepared for that day and they happily prepare whatever I ask for and it is always good. They treat us like kings and queens. (2/17/14) I appreciate Mirna and Rosa. Mirna helps me with so many things in my apartment. After she cleans my apartment it always looks so great, fresh, and clean. I wouldn't want anyone else to clean my room. Rosa helps with my laundry and other things as well. She is a very caring and helpful person. Lately she has been working in the dining room and she has been doing an excellent job of waiting on us. (2/24/14)

Mom has lived at Atria Sugar Land just over 3 years. Everyone there has been so helpful, cheerful, and unfailingly kind. We, as her family, appreciate everyone on the staff but a few stand out: Van, with her sweet smile and genuine concern at the front desk; Norma, who works so hard and is always willing to do a little more if it would help someone; Jocelyn, who gives us a friendly wave and a big smile even when she is too busy to stop and chat; Connie, who gives love and encouragement to family members as well as residents; Paul, who is happy to drive anybody almost anywhere from doctor appointments to one's favorite mani-pedi place, even if it isn't the closest one; Myrna, who understands that a clean, tidy room improves a person's outlook on life. I could go on and on. Thank you, precious caregivers of Atria Sugar Land.
