My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease in 2019 and for the last almost three years we lived with one of our daughters. We had a caregiver during the day and we took care of her at night. About 6 months ago we made the decision that it was no longer safe for my daughter and myself to attend to her. We started looking for a place that would allow my wife and I to continue to live together and still gain the the benefits of memory care. Shavano Park Sr. Living was the only place we could find in San Antonio that that would accommodate our needs and they have gone above and beyond. We are so grateful for their dedication and personal care. We could not be more satisfide.

Shavano is amazing. Hearher and her staff do a wonderful job. The facility is exceptionally maintained inside and out. If my Dad needs anything, it is provided without delay. The caregivers all know how to handle each resident and their individual needs. The food is excellent and the kitchen is very responsive if something special is needed. I highly recommend this facility for you loved ones.

My parents have been residents at Shavano Park Memory Care for over a year now. It was a tough adjustment for them after being in the same house since the 70's, but Christine and her staff (Gracie, Ricky, Naomi, Amy and Jennifer) have done a phenomenal job of making Shavano a home for my parents. Please stay away from this place. My mom and dad passed after they were there for just 3 months. My mom was an independent person walking until she fell. When she fell, they put her in a wheelchair and never took her out. Because my mom passed away December 9th, they are prorating her time there and have yet to pay me back. Please be wary of this place. Whenever you call, they are in meetings. They are fast to take your money, but when they owe it to you back you're going to wait forever. We are already 5 months since my parents passed. Both of them died in December. Their food sucks too. My dad would not eat it. I had to bring him food. My mom's bed literally had shit on it. My uncle was the one who saw it. They leave the residents wet. Supposed to check on them every hour. Well I had to buy cameras cause it wasn't happening. My sister and I would have to call the director to get someone to help tend to my parents.

No satisfaction here. My parents only lasted 3 months. My mom fell and she never recovered. They put her in a wheelchair and left her there. My mom died December 9th and they said that they would prorate the amount of money that I had to pay for her room and I have yet to receive that money. It is over $1,000 between her and my dad. They left my parents soiled. We had to buy cameras to monitor the staff who was supposed to check on them hourly and didn't. We had to call the director to get someone to help my parents.

I just can't say enough good things about the care my Dad received at Shavano Park Senior Living. From the beginning, Heather and LaShawn made us feel comfortable placing our loved one in their care. Melanie, the nurse, was very knowledgeable and attentive. Christine, the head of Memory Care, was so compassionate. She knew all about each resident and all of their needs. She always made time for the residents as well as their family members. Gracie, a med tech, was instrumental in the communication process that kept me involved in all the activities and care of my Dad. When I saw Gracie there, I knew everything was taken care of. She is a wonderful med tech as well as Jen and the other med techs. Naomi, a care giver, was so sweet and kind to all the residents, as well as Ricky and all the other care givers...unfortunately, I have forgotten many of their names, but I have not forgotten how caring they were. Also, Marcie took pride in making sure the rooms were clean for the residents. Her upbeat personality was appreciated by the residents and visitors. I feel very fortunate that we found Shavano Park Senior Living. Thank you.

Some where in the 2022 time frame me and my wife were residends here and wound up moving due to the mis-management of the facility. All the decisions were made from the corporate headquaters out in California and in the meantime we had to deal with maintenance situations that were completely unacceptable. As an example, we were out of hot water for days. I recently visited the facility and without a doubt the new owner and management has completely turned this place around. I'm so impressed that I would move back without hesitation.

It’s only been one month in memory care for both my in laws and their quality of life has already greatly improved! From personal hygiene, nutritious food, taking their medication, just all of their daily needswe are so grateful! Christine (director) and her staff have been very supportive and compassionate in helping all of us with this transition. I do hope that they get additional help for Christine as she seems to have her hands full, but even so, she always responds to us timely and makes sure to address any questions or concerns. Also, props to LaKeisha, she brings such joy, she makes my MIL smile!

Assisted Living and Memory Care at Shavano Park are amazing facilities. The rooms and environment are great. The activities are carefully planned to match the needs of the residents. However, the BEST part of Shavano Park is the Staff. From Heather, the Executive Director, to Leesah, the Business Manager, to LaShawn, our Sales/Rental Specialist, and Christine, the Director of Memory Care. Their compassion, patience, and wealth of knowledge and information about senior care are beyond excellent. I now have a parent in Assisted Living and her husband in Memory Care. My mother lived at Shavano Park Memory Care for about ten months, and I have the highest praise for the director, Christine, and Gracie who always kept me updated and in the loop with what was going on. There are tons of activities, even outings, and Christine sent photos and videos of my mom that I cherish. My mother loved participating in crafts, painting, working jigsaw puzzles, and going on outings for desserts and dinners. It is very clean and attractive. My mother loved the food! ™ The caregiver team were all so friendly and caring to her, showing respect and interest in her as a person. This is a vibrant community, and that happens due to vision, creativity, and hard work. I have the highest appreciation for the whole memory care team for what they do.

Our mother's stay at Shavano Park Senior Living was wonderful. The caregivers are so attentive, personable and thorough in providing all her needs. The meals are wonderful and the facility itself always looks clean. The setting inside and out are beautiful. After experience a horrific stay at her first assisted living facility we were impressed and completely confident we made the right move relocating her to Shavano Park Senior Living. There are not enough or strong enough words to accurately capture the appreciation we feel for every staff member there that made her time there so wonderful for there. Memory Care Director Christine Solomon and her staff are amazing ! Christine has a genuine, compassionate heart , and her leadership reflects on her staff as they were all hands on deck making sure their residents participated in a valentine activity, they are all friendly and willing to make sure their residents had a good time. Their facility is nice and clean and their main areas were well kept. Plenty of room for their patients to get around in their walkers, wheelchairs and scooters. All the residents were even smiling and dancing to the music Christine put on for them, you can see the compassionate care Christine and her staff provide for the residents there at Shavano Park!

My aunt lived in Memory Care here for a year, and I am grateful for their ability to care for her well. Christine, Gracie, Jennifer, Pilar, and Bob are some of the staff who truly cared for her (there are more precious staff whose names I'm forgetting). They do lots of activities and I know that kept my aunt thriving even when her disease progressed. No place is perfect, but of the many places I visited, SPSL by far had the most engaged staff and the least depressing feel. I recommend visiting to see if it's a good fit for your loved one with dementia.

I am a singer and entertainer and perform for a lot of the senior facilities in San Antonio. Christine over on the memory care side and Edgar on the assisted-living side are great to work with! They’re both great people and it really shows how much they care for there residents! I definitely recommend working with either one of them! I always look forward to performing for the residents there!!! As far as the facility's themselves goes both sides feel very homely. They both give off a very peaceful and relaxing vibe. You can clearly see that the residents on both sides really enjoy being there!

I strongly applaud the Memory Care Director for her extraordinarily innovative approach of creating a Balloon Volleyball team and engaging neighboring communities too. The degree of excitement and joy this ingenious idea has instilled in the residents is beyond measure. Not only does it keep them physically active, but it also gives them a renewed sense of purpose. This assisted living facility is everything you would want for your loved one. I work closely with this facility and provide therapy to their residents. The staff is always attentive, very responsive, and very involved. Heather (Executive Director), Janet (Wellness Director) and their team is cohesive and it shows, from the cleanliness of the facility to the smiles on the resident’s faces. They also have a robust Memory Care unit and the Director, Christine, basically lives there she adores her residents so much. I highly recommend this facility.

Moving my mom into Shavano Park senior Living assisted living community was the best thing I could have done for her after she was unable to return home after a serious fall. The staff is exceptional and very caring. Management went thru several changes since she moved there is March 2021, but they finally have an excellent, professional team that is receptive to any concerns or requests and are willing to talk to family members whenever necessary. The food was very good and the activities are good. I especially want to thank staff members Christine, Vilma, Linda, Samantha, Edgar and management - Candy and Heather. Bless you all.

This facility is like any other assisted living facility in that they offer service levels that meet minimum state laws but charge premium $$$. I'm here with my wife who has Alzheimer's and I plan to stay but would not recommend it to anyone else.

We had to find a home for my 78yo Grandma. It's never an easy process to have to make these kinds of decisions. But Shavano did their best to help us get her in asap, as we were on a stressful timeline. They have been amazing at giving her the 24/7 care she needs. I don't know how the staff does this for a living. It's a very hard job!! We could not give her that kind of care at home, no one can. It takes so many people and patients. I am so grateful we found Shavano and all the staff in memory care. Anna has been the best! She knows these patients like the back of her hand, treats them like her own, and loves her job! Which shows! We have so much weight lifted off our shoulders knowing she is in good care. Thank you Shavano!

Facility is lovely to look at but beware!! Over past two years the staffing and leadership has declined greatly. Prices are some of the highest in the area but they lack professional ethical management and are poorly staffed both in numbers and performance. My mother waits at times over an hour for help, her apartment is dirty the food is mediocre and she has had things stolen from her room. The current director has failed to correct anything in over a year! The only thing you can count on is the price increase every year! I would not recommend this facility.

Our 91 yr old Mom moved to Shavano Park Senior Living six weeks ago after experiencing a fall in her condo. All of the staff here has been so caring, patient, and helpful with her that I can not say enough good things about them! Two weeks ago we had to send her to a Rehab Hospital. We looked at other options for her when being released from rehab but everything considered we decided it would be in her best interest to return to Shavano Park AL. The head nurse , Diane Shehane, has been instrumental in helping us every step of the way and has handled every detail for us in this difficult time. Diane is so caring and passionate about her work, her resident patients, and their families. We know we made the correct choice for Mom in her twilight years of life.

Serena was awesome when she helped me with my search for an assisted living center for my parents. She was very informative, but yet not pushy. She educated me on different options available to my parents while not trying to sway me in any direction. She provided me with a virtual tour of the available apartments and was quick to respond when I emailed her with additional questions. While our family has decided to try to keep my parents at home for a bit longer, you can guarantee Serena will be the first person I call if/when we decide assisted living is the right place and time for my parents. My mother recently fell ill and needed to move into an assisted living facility. I was lucky enough to have some clients that already had their father staying at Shavano Park. We moved in over 7 months ago and the care and service from the Executive director Jack , head nurse Lindsey, and all the staff has been amazing. The restaurant is world class. My mother loves to go to lunch and dinner to meet with her friends each day. Her room is always clean clean and organized. Jack and Lindsey are always available for consultation. I am a very demanding customer. I care deeply about my mother. I am so glad I found this place. I highly recommend you speak with Jack prior to choosing any place for your loved ones. They have taken great care of my mother and allowed me to relax a bit. I know they have my mom's best interests at heart. Nothing is ever going to go completely perfect . The key is do the people react to the situation and resolve the issue. Jack and Lindsey are those type of people.
