Summer Ridge is a wonderful place to call home for my great uncle. He used to be totally alone since my family lived too far to visit him weekly. After my grandfather passed away my uncle became extremely depressed. Did not think he would want to do any activities but to our surprise he goes to them daily. He has made several friends with fellow veterans. I know his life has more purpose and the team cares and tries really hard. To see his quality of life improve is everything.

The staff is very caring at Summer Ridge and they try hard to please. No place is perfect but it's well established and ran well. It has stayed full for a year so that says a lot. The courtyard is relaxing and a fun hangout for residents. There are many activities to enjoy!

Andrea the sales manager is knowledgeable and so willing to answer your questions. My family has enjoyed getting to know the entire new team. We could not be more pleased with Brookdale Summer Ridge! We moved my dad here from another assisted living nearby and the difference was noticeable the first time we walked in the door and not because it is a new, updated, fancy place. The one we left was definitely more of those things. Brookdale is warm, friendly and like home. From the director down, the staff is amazing and very accessible. My dad is 94 years old and has become more active and happy at Brookdale. There are quite a few men living here which is such a positive for him. It did not take him very long to adapt to the move as we feared. I just can’t say enough about how happy we are that we moved my dad to Brookdale Summer Ridge.

I’ve spent the last 10 years working (as an outside entity) with the staff at this beautiful community and I can say, without a doubt, it has stayed consistently well-run by the leaders and staff all this time. I am always welcomed in and warmly treated by everyone. The setting is very relaxed and nicely decorated. Residents are friendly and often up and around. If it’s time to look into down-sizing and treating yourself to a bit of pampering, I’d recommend you check out this community!!

We began the search for an exceptional home for my brother in the Spring of 2021. Navigating the complexities of relocating him to a new state is never an easy task, but the personnel at Brookdale Summer Ridge went above and beyond our expectations to ensure his transition was accomplished with virtually no stress. On day one, when my husband visited the facility as a possible home for my brother, the sales representative, director, health care staff, maintenance staff and others created a very positive impression. In July, we moved my brother into his new home. He immediately had a positive reaction to his new "digs". As each day passed, he became more and more comfortable with his new surroundings. He quickly developed friendships and looked forward to the socialization, meals, activities and over-all environment afforded to him at Brookdale Summer Ridge. His healthcare demanded a well-qualified primary care provider to manage his complex needs. He found one at Brookdale. His on-site visits erased the need to travel outside the facility for routine healthcare assessments...to include podiatry. The facility director, Ashley, was a tremendous asset as we navigated state applications for health and human services. My brother integrated well into a life in Texas...a great deal of the success is attributable to a very professional group of employees. Hats off and kudos to Brookdale Summer Ridge on a job well done.

If you or someone you care for is evaluating assisted living communities in the Rockwall area, be sure to include Brookdale Summer Ridge on your list of places to visit. When mom was considering her options last summer the spread of Covid was still a concern, in addition to the usual list of uncertainties that would accompany such a move. Brookdale offered a short-term respite stay as a convenient way to try living there. This was the perfect stepping stone to navigating a major decision. After just a few weeks she was ready to select her apartment and move right in. At Brookdale we have found warm and supportive staff that help each resident feel known and cared for. Members of management, the medical team, concierge staff, housekeeping and dining room personnel, personal care assistants and many other wonderful employees are dedicated to creating a positive and fulfilling experience for residents. Likewise, the residents are kind and caring, creating a neighborly and welcoming environment for everyone. The community did, in fact, experience some Covid cases in the Fall. Families were kept well informed as they enacted quarantine guidelines, requiring masks and frequent free testing, until everyone was cleared and could safely gather again. They also made it convenient for residents to receive vaccine booster and flu shots in house, resulting in nearly 100% vaccination rates. Mom feels safe and comfortable living there, and tells us often how much she enjoys her new home.

The staff at Brookdale Summer Ridge made my parents' move one of the most enjoyable experiences we have had in a stressful situation. They truly bent over backwards to make Mom & Dad feel welcome and wanted at the facility. They are the absolute best! Management is very accommodating and proactive with both the residents and the families. The food is so much better than their previous facility. All in all, it's the best place to live in an assisted living facility that we have found in the Lake Ray Hubbard area.

Been to this facility many times. All of the residents love Kasaundra, over cleaning units etc. Go ask them about her, they love her, trust her and shes been there 20 plus years. Lets not forget the people who put all their time and effort into their jobs and who stay loyal to the company. If youre looking for cleanliness, they are it!

My mom has lived at Brookdale Summer Ridge for almost 2 years. If anything is a test of their true caring for their residents, last years COVID impact proved them to be the best. And we are still dealing with it. All the staff are very caring, and treat my mom and I like their own family. The apartments are very nice, with a variety of sizes and options. Common areas are well appointed. We are looking forward to back to normal when activities and field trips can resume! Mom says the food is good.

I would like to take some time to show some much needed appreciation to the people at this community. Especially Ashley Murray. The people at this community and especially Ashley went to great lengths of time, caring, kindness, and above all patience with our concerns during Covid and this being her first place away from home to be sure that my Mother In Law was able to find a perfect fit for her and ultimately they also worked with her budget so that she could afford it. Ashley also took great care to get to know her to know just which living room of other residents she would most easily fit to find a truly great situation for sweet and kind elder that needed a bit more attention than we could give while working 2 full time jobs. I must say that I didnt know that I had Ashleys personal cell phone when I called one morning during daylight savings time at an ungodly hour and when she answered, she was right there to help me even on her own time. I promised to never do that again and she came right back and said that it was okay and to call anytime. I of course would not and instead call the main number as you never want to exhaust such a great person and steward to others as I see in Ashley. I truly think that she and others in the community make it an incredible gem in Rockwall, where family still matters and taking care of elders is what they have in mind at all times. My Mother lived at Summer Ridge for over 2 years and recently moved to a facility with memory care. Our experience with Summer Ridge has been excellent. The staff is consistent and they do not have the constant turnover we have seen in other facilities. They have done a great job during COVID to communicate and support our loved ones. I have gotten to know many of the staff and management and have always felt like my Mom was in a safe and loving environment.

Last night they had a Taco Party and it was evident that a lot of work and planning had gone into it. Here is a photo of Mom and her best friend at the party. They had just tasted a piece of tangy, edible food art.

The staff at Brookdale Summer Ridge in Rockwall, Texas are a group of caring, helpful, and knowledgeable individuals who treat my mother with dignity and respect while they meet her needs as a first time assisted living resident. I wish to acknowledge especially three young ladies who have made this experience proceed as smoothly as possible: Ashley Murray, Miranda McDaniel, and Laura Billings, R.N. They exceed my expectations during each encounter I have with them regarding my mom's transition from independent homeowner to assisted living resident. This difficult time has been eased by these staff members and they deserve recognition. Further, each Brookdale employee greets me with a smile and they have been genuinely interested in my mom's well-being. Of all the places she could choose to live, I am pleased with our decision to select Summer Ridge.

In September 2018, my mother had her second stroke and she could no longer live alone. We had to find an assisted living center for her. We were impressed when we visited Brookdale Summer Ridge. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. We decided to move her into Brookdale Summer Ridge. That decision was reinforced by a long-time friend that reassured me that we would not be disappointed. Her family member had lived there and he was very happy. We moved Mom in and at first, Mom would not leave her room for meals. The transition from her own home to an assisted living center coupled with her new disabilities were overwhelming to her. The staff was very patient with her. They brought her meals to her room, but encouraged her to go to the dining room. Their persistence paid off and now she eats in the dining room regularly and she enjoys it. The transition from her own home to assisted living was not easy for my Mom, but the move was a good one. Now, she has three nutritious meals a day. She has assistance with daily tasks that she can no longer do herself, such as medication management and bathing and dressing. She also has people to talk to now. When she lived alone, she had all of her meals alone. She really enjoys the ladies at her dining table and she looks forward to her meals. During a recent visit, I was walking down the hall with her and she greeted and was greeted by the other residents that we met in the hallway. Mom was smiling and happy. I am thankful for the Brookdale staff for making sure that Mom is well cared for and is happy in her new home.

Review by Jim N. I believe the special care team in place in recent years at Brookdale Summer Ridge is the very best since my Mom became a resident at this special facility in 2000. There is a high level of professionalism and the staff is so diligent in addressing my Mom’s overall needs on a daily basis. My sisters and I do not live very close to Rockwall and the management team is always so accommodating to our travel/care needs as well. If any of your loved ones are ever in need of an excellent assisted living facility, you should take a close look at Brookdale Summer Ridge in beautiful Rockwall

I LOVE SUMMER RIDGE and they are HUGE blessings!! In late 2016 we had the awesome task of moving my parents from their home of 53 years when they reached a point of needing more support in daily living. Having previously marketed Senior Living facilities my standards were already high, and wanting the best for my parents who had always given my siblings and me their best, my wish list was even longer. Having a sister as a social worker in senior living by profession and a brother who is an attorney, our standards tripled and were yet even higher. We loved the staff, the homey, yet elegant atmosphere, the cleanliness, the food, their attentiveness to the specific likes and dislikes of my parents and their willingness to help with anything we needed at any time. They made such a difficult time for all of us SO much easier and they served as huge support to us kids as well.As my Mother’s Alzheimer’s prigessed and she needed total care, I literally teared up the day we moved them from Summer Ridge to a nursing home. I was so sad they had to leave. The staff, beginning at the top with Miranda, the Executive Director, all the way to the young man who cleaned the tables, were like family. When my Mother recently passed away, we looked no further than Summer Ridge when needing a place to move Dad as he was more suitable for Assisted Living. We were welcomed back with open arms and it was so nice to see the same caring staff. I can’t express what a comfort it was. Dad adjusted surprisingly well, especially after just losing his love of 64 years. No place will ever be perfect just like none of our own personal homes are ever perfect, but Summer Ridge strives for excellence in all they do and we’ve found it’s the next BEST place besides their own home for my parents, and now my Dad.. Thank you Miranda and the whole staff for making a difficult transition in all our lives more beautiful.

My mother has been a resident of Brookdale Summer Ridge (BSR) for 4 years now. She has always gotten great care at BSR, and its evident that each person on the staff has a caring and compassionate heart. My mother is now under hospice care. BSR has been able to accommodate the hospice environment, and thats allowing my mother to live out her days in the most caring environment she can have. We have no complaints whatsoever, and would recommend BSR to anyone considering an assisted living environment.

I visited Brookdale Summer Ridge on a whim to take a tour and learn more about the community after being referred by my friend. I was not disappointed. From the moment you walk in you're met with incredible customer service. I was able to meet the executive director Miranda but dealt mainly with the sales director Cody. Throughout the whole tour I never felt pressured or hounded. I was able to ask all the questions I had regarding care for my parents and never felt rushed. So refreshing! He gave me a tour of the community and explained the different apartment options as well as the levels of care offered for each resident based on their needs. You can tell they are proud of their community as it is immaculate, welcoming, and he knew each resident by name. It made me feel like my parents would be part of a family and not alone. I also noticed after speaking with several of the staff members that most have been there for many years. I've noticed other locations have high turn-over and that spoke volumes to me in how they treat the staff and residents. Consistent and stable care is a priority for me! So happy I found this community! Could not be happier!

I am Nurse Practitioner for some of the residents of Summer Ridge. The staff is exceptional and caring to both residents and also to me and my staff. Jennifer Coker is an outstandining and intricate part of the nursing staff not to leave Kari and the other medical care team out, they are all so much an outstanding team of people also. I thank God daily for the Summer Rifdge staff, from Rod with administration to the nursing team. I work at Summer Ridge & my mother lives there also. I would not have her there just because I work at Summer Ridge. We have the most caring and friendly staff. I enjoy going to work to see all my friends, the residents. They have a very special place in my heart. Our staff goes the extra mile every day to make the residents happy.
