My mother had a wonderful experience at Remington. It was so clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent to her. She is 93 and broke 5 ribs. She had wonderful physical therapists! Gary and Ginger were fantastic! They really helped her. Her occupational therapist, I think her name was Lena, was really sweet and so helpful. Plus her everyday nurses aides, Emanuel, William and Hannah, were fantastic! They helped her with everything. I so appreciate their help with all they did for my mother. I have nothing but good things to say. It’s all about trust and I really trusted all of the wonderful staff with my mother.

My mother’s recent stay at Remington due to hip fracture was a good experience. The staff was very friendly and everyone in the physical & occupational therapy department got my mother to where she could home just 2 weeks after being admitted. A special shout to the following people who made my mother’s stay better: Catrice (who was there to answer any of our questions and/or concerns), Debra made sure to check if patients wanted to participate in daily activities, William who drove my mother to her doctors appointment and stayed with her until I arrived at said appointment. The young lady who worked 2-10 pm shift can’t remember her name but made sure my mom was good at night

Debra Hall is the activities Director at this facility. She has gone above and beyond her job.. I’m a nurse with 40 years of nursing experiences I have been in and out of numerous facilities and I have not seen any activity director of this caliber. She has brought in entertainers from all genres!! So that she wouldn’t miss anybody and the type of music that they would want to hear. She also noticed when I was upset, asked if there was anything she could do to help me and direct me to the right resources to get my needs me. I looked forward to her activities and was glad to be able to get out of my room and go and participate in the different Things that she had going on. This was so refreshing and pleasant during a time that I was sad, depressed, and discouraged thanks so much Debra for all that you did for me and all I watch you do for the other residence!!!’

I would give zero stars if I could. Beware of sending your loved one to this facility. My mother died a few weeks ago in the care of Remington. She was in there waiting for knee surgery. I had just visited her 2 days before we got the phone call telling us she suddenly died. I couldn’t believe she was gone just like that. She was completely fine, in great spirits, and excited to be moving to Hawaii when she got out of there. Without going into grave detail, I was told that the nurse came in and saw her laying funny and checked her O2 levels and it was 88. She was unresponsive, so she gave her a breathing treatment instead of oxygen and calling 911. My mom never had a chance because she was not given emergency treatment. She laid in bed and died while 2 different people seen her laying there and did not find her unresponsiveness as an emergency. Her cause of death was “Natural causes” and they denied an autopsy so we will never know what truly happened. I immediately requested medical records and was denied of that also. Nothing adds up and we are heartbroken and without our mother. Again, she was in the facility waiting for knee surgery. Please don’t send your loved ones here.

Medication nursing staff did not release some of my medication my dr.wrote for when I left and told me it did not come in a certain strength which was not true .It is a critical med. I had to call my dr and he had to send a new rx to my pharmacy so I could get it. It is to prevent blood clots , so critical. Also when I arrived they would not give me a walker when I arrived until I was evaluated so I could not get around that first day.I would call to go the bathroom without a walker and people would not come for 45 minutes. I would not go back to this place because of nursing staff. Ot and physical therapy were helpful. I was there one week and left. I was there to rehab after surgery.

Deborah Hall activity director makes us feel so welcome . The nursing side is understaffed and isn't great. There were two nurses that did a good job. Tara and Kiante did 90% of the nursing work, and did it with a smile. The Physical Therapy side seemed they were very focused and did a good job. My time was very limited with the Physical Therapy side and I only met them twice, so my opinion should be taken as such. My overall grade of this facility would be a 5 out of 10, with a 10 being the best.

I was well cared for, the food was okay, both the physical and occupational therapy worked me hard, and the activities were fun. The biggest frustration was that there was not a specific schedule for either PT or OT, so that pain meds could be taken in advance of those sessions.

Today, I had the pleasure of coming to Remington of Richardson to complete an assessment on a patient moving to our Assisted Living community. During my visit, I was in awe of the caregiver on the 2nd floor named Curtis who was assisting the resident we were assessing. This job is not for the faint of heart and he went above and beyond to help us! His smile and infectious attitude was 5 star! He truly seemed happy to be caring for his patients.

I was sitting in my Dad's room today and the cleaning people came by to swiffer/mop and clean the room. They were extremely attentive to the details and making sure the room was clean. Don’t be fooled by the so called 5 star rating they have. The rehab program is good but the nursing services are very poor. If you are in need of nursing care along with rehab stay away. Had my wife and I not gone there that Saturday morning and saw my mother-in-laws oxygen level was in the high 70s and low 80s even with 6 liters of oxygen, and very lethargic and weak and not wanting to eat anything she would not have made it through the weekend. We told them to call the ambulance and get her to the hospital so she could get proper treatment, this was the second time she had aspiration pneumonia within a few weeks, and they still hadn’t done a swallow study and kept given her food and water by mouth which was killing her. Richardson Methodist Hospital is great by the way.

I suffer with chronic UTI and weakness with bedsores outside of Remington. Nevertheless I’ve been at Remington 4 times and every time like now am almost hundred percent because of so many Employees. Am so blessed and grateful to have my Remington Family. Thanks To all the Therapists especially (Martina and Emmy ) also papa Duncan, Bailey, swapna, Norman, ginger, Alam, John and the lady behind it all Tessa Aka Tes Tes. The Nurses Ethel, Perry, ms v , aluma, Loretta, Ez,Joe , Phaedra that goes up and beyond to take care of their residents with all their medical needs. The boss lady that makes it all happen Juliet is one of a kind director that’s passionate about not only the residents but the nurses and Aides. Furthermore The Unsong Heroes These Care giver that works day and night to be their for all the residents needs Like Curtis , ADIS, Emanuel, SO much thanks for the kindness and hardworking (MARTHA ) that comes in bright eager to make sure all her residents are taking care of especially with showering. Venessa ,William, Rochelle, Tiasha, ogechi, ola Housekeeping management catrice does so much to make sure that building is taken care of. Stephanie makes sure that all the residents and everyone supplies. And my best friend Debra who does so much to entertain the residents. The Administrator William is such great fit for the organization, a lot of improvement since he toke over. And Augustine is efficient with maintenance whenever you need him. The Kitchen staffs especially Dominque is very hard working and helpful with food requirements. The social workers Mya and Andria such an amazing individual. The Twins are blessing. Tina Lewis is a blessing at Remington. The housekeepers are very hardworking and every single day they make sure the whole building especially the residents rooms are spotless. If you ever need a place to recovery for you Or your love once I beg and pray that you choose Remington of Richardson. AFTER all the hard times and illness I am going home As my regular self. Stronger, healthier, happier , motivated, and most importantly am able to do all my ADLS. Also Thanks to the Doctors especially Dr. O who makes sure all my medical needs are met. Micah the driver who make sure all the residents get to their appointments safely and on time. Also Infectious Disease Annette who does such a wonderful job controlling and curing my infections. Thanks a bunch to these wonderful Individuals for gracing me and Every residents with their kindness And continual services.

My family would not recommend this rehab facility. The pros for my mom were the physical therapy and the food. However, there were many problems. The first night she requested help getting to the bathroom but no one responded. She had to ask multiple times the first day for a shower and another day for toilet paper. Someone took her snacks while at therapy. I reached out twice to administration and never received a phone call back.

Activity director Debra made Father’s Day so special for everyone at Remington. I joined my Dad for a loaded baked potato bar, Bundt cake and ice cream dessert and a fun musician for entertainment. We had trivia with prizes and just a fun afternoon. Everyone has treated my Dad very kindly during his stay. Thanks, Debra for including me and making my Dad feel special on Father’s Day.
