Jean the Director of The Cove has become a mentor, my friend and has a true heart for each and every resident. She inspires me by her love, care and concern for the people dependent on their care. There are so many wonderful people, Crystal, DON, Ashley, Exec Director, Shelia, making a real difference in the lives of those who call Harbor Chase home. I spent an amazing day with my mom and her friends from the Harbor Chase Assisted Living community on an excursion. The time out was so wonderful for my mom and her friends. Something different from the daily routine will give them stories to talk about for years to come. The staff, Ashley, Cory, Azita, took such good care of everyone. Safety was the number one priority but fun was a close second. I can't say enough positive comments about this excursion for the residents. Thanks to HC for making our day.

The experience that our family had at HarborChase couldn't have been better. We had recently lost our mom and we knew dad was in a position that needed care that our family couldn't provide. He spent a year with an previous facility and quickly outpaced what they could provide from dinning options, to social offerings, to general amenities. We did our research and HarborChase kept rising to the top. The energy of the facility from those in the assisted living area carries through the other portions of the facility (e.g., The Sound and The Cove). While dad moved directly into The Sound he was able to interact with the assisted living residents in the main dining room, the bar, group activities, and onsite church services. As far as facilities, his room was perfect for his needs which ended up requiring the use of a wheelchair. There's an onsite gym for exercise and rehabilitation, a large dining room with a rotating menu plus a dining room that you can reserve just for you and your family, a bar area, and salon. The staff could not have been more caring, supportive, and approachable. I am going to leave many out but I do want to mention a handful. Each person by far outpaced their title/role and became a friend to not only dad, but to us as well. Anne was our first contact as the Director of Sales and was a great Sherpa to the process and offerings. Ashley as the Executive Director was always available by phone and email with any inquires we had. Crystal as Director of Resident Care worked hand in hand with Larhon the Sound Director and Lydia the Life Enrichment Coordinator (who hosted a Day of Weldon including his favorite things) to make sure dad's care plan evolved as his needs did. Eddie as the in-house singer and Transportation Coordinator always took care of getting dad to his appointments when travel required a lift gate and always provided dad with a laugh and a story. The endless list of care takers from Randy to a multitude of others provided dad with not only care, but kindness, conversation, compassion, safety, entertainment, and motivation to not just exist, but to continue to strive for growth. This team of outstanding people were there day one, and they made sure that they all came by on dad's last day and last minutes. I'm not sure of Andrea's title or what she said on dad's last day, but I just remember feeling the warmth and concern the entire staff expressed. If we had a question or concern, it was addressed. If we had a special request it was fulfilled. I know I have heaped on a lot of praise and nowhere is perfect, but we couldn't have found a better situation for dad and support system for us.

Harbor Chase is heads above the others for Sr. Living care. From your first contact with Cory, to meeting Crystal, the head nurse to Ashley, the GM, to the front desk staff, to the kitchen staff to the caregivers and nurses …there are not enough positive words to describe what an exceptional experience they provide for the seniors who are lucky enough to call this place home. Our father lived here for 14 months and needed a fairly high level of care and they were exceptional at providing and communicating all the things he required. We could not have asked for a better or more compassionate God filled place for him to call his final home here on earth.

Harbor Chase Plano is fabulous. They truly care for the people that live there. The staff often works over their work time to stay with he residents. They truly go above & beyond. An example of this was when my niece got married. The head of nursing, Crystal Kirby, and head of caregivers, Jean Burton, came with my mother. They made sure my mother enjoyed herself and got to spend time with her sister. Their kindness allowed the rest of the family to also enjoy the wedding & just have fun. Another example was when mother was in the hospital a few days before she passed away. Crystal and Jean came to visit her and ended up caring for my family. My mother was so confused, but the second she saw Crystal & Jean she told the nurse that "her staff that took care of her" had arrived. The first thing she said to them was "I love you both". My mother deeply loved them & they loved her. They stayed with us after my mother was unconscious and helped us through her death. They explained some things to us & stayed with us. They are truly angels on Earth. My family loves them so much & they are now part of the family. They always will be. They cried with us, they helped us understand what my mother was going through, they prayed with us & for us. I don't know how we would have made it if they hadn't been with us. These are 2 remarkable women that I trusted with my mother's life & who I would trust with my own life.

Huge praise and thanks for the caring and compassionate folks at HarborChase of Plano who cared for my parents for the last five years. This is such a fantastic facility, and that's reflected in their ability to retain key team members over time. The executive director, care manager, memory care director, and head chef were there when my parents arrived and continue to provide the absolute highest level of care. While we recently made the decision to move my parents to a another facility due to changes in their personal situations, we were saddened to leave. I can't recommend HarborChase highly enough, and encourage anyone seeking a care facility to check this one out. Thanks again, HC crew!

I am a hospice RN and I care for some patients at this facility. You would be hard pressed to find a more beautiful place for your loved one. The first thing you will notice when you walk in is the wonderful smell! It truly is an assault on your senses- not only do you have a clean floral scent but it looks like a country club grand foyer. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. One of the things I have noticed is how many caregivers there actually are in relation to residents. You cannot turn your head without seeing several caregivers helping the residents. Jean, the Director of Memory Care , truly has resident's best interest at heart. I just wanted to write this review to share my experience with HC Plano. It's been very positive. If looking for a place for your loved one, you should contact this facility.

If you are looking for a community for your family, this one is amazing. The staff is so wonderful and caring, beautiful buildings, no traffic noises, it's perfect. And one of the things I really love is the Chef. Yes, the Chef! There are so many dining options available. From a quick snack to a 5 course meal. Chef NeGust plans and executes all the food there for your family member to enjoy. We would not want to eat at the same restaurant each night and he does not expect the residents to get the same food each day. I keep asking them to put in a drive thru (I would be there each day). But do keep in mind when selecting a new home, Chef NeGust is here!

I looked at multiple assisted living communities before deciding to move my mom here . To quote a resident who I met before moving my mom in and who has lived there 2 years " the staff is friendly and they are kind ". The staff kept me in the know on any issues my mom had . The staff was warm and friendly . The staff responded quickly to any questions or concerns I had .My mom was very happy here . I was physically in the building at least twice a week and I was very happy with my decision . The front desk , the caregivers , nursing staff and the kitchen staff were all wonderful . My Father has been at Harbor Chase for almost 2 years now and it has been fantastic! We were referred to this place by someone who works at a Memory Care facility that was going to move their own parent there, so I felt incredibly comfortable with the move. Transition for older folks is always a bit difficult but everyone there wrapped their loving arms around my Father and welcomed him even though he can be difficult at times. Since then my father has more than settled in. He goes to meals and is treated with respect, dignity, and hospitality. He knows everyone by name and they know him by name, and he has built true friendships there which was totally unexpected. His apartment is wonderful, the facility is incredibly clean and full of light and life. And most of all, the people from the top all the way down care with all their hearts and my Dad knows it and feels it! Special shoutout and big thanks to Ashley, Crystal, and Azita for always being available to us and for being wonderful, caring people. We love you guys! It means more than you could ever imagine! 10 Stars wasn't an option so I could only give 5!!!

Finding a wonderful place for your aging parent(s) is such a difficult task, physically and emotionally. My mom has been in 4 different places now and hands down, I Harbor Chase of Plano knows what it takes to make the elderly feel loved and cared for! My mom is in The Sound area which is overseen by THE MOST LOVING director, LahRon Gay. LahRon has taken my mom in as if she's her own. She consistently checks in with mom AND calls me weekly to go over how my mom is doing. Their food....PHENOMENAL!! Their chefs all have training from The Four Season chefs and you can tell in the variety and quality!! Randy hosts the arts and crafts area and he's so creative and patient. Sales coordinator, Cory is just the sweetest gal. Crystal greets you with a warm smile upon entering. Director of nursing, Krystal is so caring and on her game. The bar area is gorgeous and hosts daily happy hours and concerts. The activities schedule at HC is FANTASTIC!! All the people from staff to residents are just genuinely happy!! I'm so very grateful we found HC!! You know it's the right place when your parent (as mom my said to me) tells you, "you know when you walk into a room or a place and it just feels like home? Harbor Chase is MY home and I'm so glad it is!!"

Words cannot express how much my family and I appreciate everyone at Harbor Chase of Plano. There isn't a person there that didn't help our family while we moved my mother from her home into memory care. Until you have done this you have no idea how hard it is emotionally, mentally, and physically. Jean, Head of Memory Care at Harbor Chase, has been a God send to our family. She has help my mother transition with flying colors. She keeps us updated and well informed of any situation or need my mother has. She texts, answers emails, calls, and even sends us photos of our mom living life at Harbor Chase. Jean has become a trusted friend and confidant. She has pretty much held our hands while we have had to adjust to this "new normal" which isn't very normal at all. Dementia is a terrible disease that I wouldn't wish on any family ever. In my lifetime I never would have thought this would happen to my mother. Jean, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being there for my mother and for being there for us. I thank God for you every day.

I just want to say I was very pleased with the decision making moving my grandmother into this facility they memory care unit made my grandmother feel like home the staff was amazing. We have visited other facility’s but this place was the best option I could have ever made. My parents were not happy about moving from their home of 40+ years into a 512 sq ft apartment. But of all the choices in facilities, this one appeared to be the most modern, up to date, clean, bright, airy homey facility available. Once their, the staff was also found to be remarkable. My parents wanted to know each person who looked after them as they thought of them as extended family and the staff responded in kind. My mother lived there for only 5 months before she passed and now the staff is surrounding my dad with love as he transitions in life without my mother. I don't think they could have been in a better place.

We moved my mother-in-law into Harbor Chase about a month ago. She was very apprehensive but adjusted very quickly. The staff is so thoughtful and caring toward Marie. They make sure she is aware of the activities going on each day and check on her regularly. The best part was that they keep me informed of her progress. The Care staff is amazing and so on top of it, from nurses to caregivers. The Activities Director goes out of her way to get the residents engaged. The Executive Director is so busy but takes time to get to know all about their residents.She even helped Marie with setting up her tv. The Marketing team embraces you when they greet you for the first time and continues to do so every time they see you. They even set up gatherings of old friends so she doesnt feel like she misses them so much. The Culinary team is incredible, not only exceeding expectations on what food should taste like, but using fresh, whole foods and preparing meals for individual needs if necessary. So personal and invested in their residents wants and needs. The wait staff in the dining room is so loving and knows all the residents by name. This staff goes over and beyond to make this community a home for families and residents. Marie loves it there and feels so safe. I would recommend Harbor Chase to anyone. Thank you for allowing me the chance to be daughter-in-law instead of caregiver. Now I am learning to enjoy time with her again, rather than always taking charge.

Edited from 2 years ago: HC Plano has made a lot of improvements over the last 2 years. The leadership at the facility seems to have stabilized, and theyve handled the Covid-19 threat particularly well. There is still an issue with understaffing, but I understand thats common to all assisted living facilities. My parents are in one of the larger apartments (over 700 sq ft) and its very nice. The staff are all really, really nice--even Dad says so, and hes an introvert who doesnt care for a lot of people. Overall, Id say this is one of the nicer facilities in the north Dallas, Plano area.

As someone who actively works for this company and is also personally invested in the care of all residents- I can attest that Harbor Chase is so much more than a facility to reside within. The friendships forged between staff and residents, residents and one another, residents and the many visitors- its a home full of companionship and diversity. Activites are planned around the clock with varying emphasis on what the residents enjoy. Ive seen intense games of bridge, residents get up and cut a rug dancing, cook with professional chefs and create with artists that inspire- there is never a dull moment. The amount of smiles I witness daily makes the experience here above and beyond. Learning the stories of those who have lived such full and wonderful lives- and being blessed to share these golden years with them provokes an atmosphere of family and friends. The administration is thoughtful and desires to live up to each individuals expectations, always accommodating to provide the best experiences. The staff works with an attitude of humility and passion. The nurses are there for each residents needs whether it be a wellness check, a concern, an incident, or just a visit to chat. I highly recommend visiting the facility so you can attest for yourself the ambitions of Harbor Chase. If you want a place where independence is supported, needs are cared for, and input is always considered- then this is the exact kind of place for you. I take the utmost pride in my work and can post this with genuine confidence that you will feel the same. At Harbor Chase, its always a great day to celebrate senior living!

I have been a resident of HarborChase of Plano for 14 months. During that time I have seen our facility grow from a few residents to multiple residents. During this time, I have welcomed new residents and have grown to love all the residents, as well as, all the caretakers and staff.HarborChase is a most friendly place and a happy place in which to live. Rule of thumb - Unhappy employees equal a horribly run establishment. It sounds like the responses to all the unhappy employees are quite dismissive instead of investigating what the issue is. If there is on bobble headed manager causing a toxic work environment and firing at will, it is the responsibility of ownership to send in undercover job applicants to go through the process and expose what is really going on. I see complaints also from patrons which also seem to be dismissed in some pre-scripted response. Thank God for reviews.

When my mother was released from the hospital, my sister and I scrambled to find a facility that could give my mom the care and attention she needed and that my mom would feel comfortable in. Kathleen, the director of Harborchase, was amazing. Kathleen spent a long time with my family over several weeks and was able to convince my mom to try their furnished respite room. My mother needed a lot of attention and was anxious about being in a new environment with strangers. The staff was outstanding! They bent over backwards to help my mom adjust to assisted living life. My mother recovered so quickly there that she is now able to leave. We consider Harbor Chase to be part of our familys healthcare team. We will be coming back to Harbor Chase as needed and it will be our first choice when my mom is ready to live long term in an assisted living facility.

I have my mom in their Charter Club and its giving us time to complete our decision, get everything ready for moms move and she gets to see if before anyone that is not in the Charter Club. She gets invited to exclusive events too, we are looking forward to meeting the other members. Its so smart because if she doesnt end up moving in, she gets her $500 deposit back. Its a no-brainer!
