By far the most horrible care. I was there and shouldn't have been there, but due to an allergic reaction to a pain medication, I temporarily lost my memory (which I regained after 2 days). The staff ignored you if you pushed the button for help at night (3 TIMES)...I had to pee in my Depends (which I didn't need) to receive myself since they WOULD NOT COME HELP AT ALL. Then they made me stay in the bed until they felt like helping me. I would try to get up (had had no PT and couldn't walk) and I'd fall. I cannot find anything good to say about this place. I lost 10 pounds because the food was not edible. I luckily was able to find someone who helped me move to Encompass Rehab hospital which was wonderful and helped me. Please don't send your loved ones (or anyone you hate) to Carrera.

Great place for people to recover from surgery

Care was good except at night when call lights were often ignored for long periods of time. Food was substandard. Therapy was fair but understaffed. For the most part staff was friendly and respectful with a few snarky individuals. Supervisors had to be requested several times to get good treatment.

I have been to many facilities for physical & occupational therapy this has to be the best one I’ve been in the call light is answered in reasonable amount of time, the staff is awesome, from cleaning, cna’s, doctors, therapy, they are friendly, and caring. I want to especially give a recognition to a cna named Samantha, she is superwoman going room to room to check on call lights, she is staying busy giving excellent patient care, that any one can have, Samantha is one of a kind. A total gem, she’s sweet and caring of all patients Carrara is lucky to have a cna like Samantha.

I’m not sure words am an even express the gratitude my husband and I feel for the staff my husbands mom has received. Unfortunately in August we found ourselves needing to place my husbands mom in a rehab facility all the while knowing this would most likely turn into a long term care. We were so overwhelmed and worried about where she would go and the care she was going to receive. We all hear so many horror stories and it’s so hard to trust anyone with your loved one. Let me just say behind every great leader you have a great staff. John Berg is that director here and has been so amazing. If we have questions, concerns, need anything he is always available and takes care of things with the utmost respect. Her rehab went amazingly well and far exceeded our expectations. They were able to get her to do things that her other therapist or home health couldn’t get her to do. She still even ask about if she has rehab that day. Let’s talk about the nursing staff our mom has, they have been nothing short of amazing. They all are so helpful and attentive to each patient. Mom has found her favorite, she say he/she is her favorite after each one leaves her room. Don’t get me started if one hasn’t been seen in a while she may forget a lot of things but out of the blue she’ll ask about them and wants to know where they are. She has even got a few to warm up to her. Some used to just come in give her meds and walk out now they come in sit on her bed and slowly give her meds and talk to her, it’s so sweet. Her head nurse Elizabeth takes care of making sure she’s getting the care she needs. You know things are amazing when you can send a text for something like needing your loved one ready for an appointment and you don’t even need a reply because she will handle it. They all love our mom even when she does something silly you just want to shake your head in frustration they just laugh and redirect her. If we need to take her out for something we surely get a where are you taking mama, bring her back as she gets a hug. It puts a smile on your heart knowing how loved she is. Now I have to say we are just a little sad as we are saying see you around as we transition her to the long term care side she will have a new team of nurses. It has already been so amazing. Her new head nurse Chaz has walked her through the process and has helped her, as well as my husband and I, get settled in due to change is not easy for her. We are really looking forward to working with this new team of nurses. I’m sure mom will find her way to visit her other nurse and as they all said they will make their way to her. The daily activities are a welcome distraction and she enjoys going and making new friends. Alpa has been amazing at encouraging her to attend even when she doesn’t want to go. Her favorite activity is Bingo and Bible study. All this to say John has an amazing team who love their patients and their families. Stay connected with them and get to know them you will find lots of laughs and occasional warm hugs. Thank you Carrara Staff Family, Love you ’•’•’•

I just moved my mom into Carrara about 3 weeks ago and they have been so fantastic. Nikaia and Tamara helped me so much by expediting my mom’s move, getting her into a PERFECT room that will set her up well for long term. The nurses (shout out to Gertrude!), aides, cleaning staff and even the cosmetologist are sweet and seem trustworthy. It speaks volumes when mom consistently says everybody is so NICE here. Thanks guys! Keep up the good work! We look forward to spending her time here at her new home.

My mom been there since last Thursday I have called everyday I only talked to 3 people in almost a week time Fri from morning to night didn't talk to anyone called Sat morning talked to moms nurse so I told him why don't they answer the phone he apologized but that's not good with me Look y'all clients have families that want to check on them and see how they are doing might not can get there to see clients so they call. If this doesn't change I will take it further you have my word on that. Please answer your phone's so families can check on there Loved Ones I am not making threats I am making promises it will go to higher authority if not corrected

The worst place ever. I was sent there after being in the hospital following major back surgery. They advertise they do rehab. They don’t do a single bit of rehab. They put padding around the bed when you go to bed and if you try to get up it shakes and makes you fall down. I was not supposed to fall down ever and I fell down seven times because of this horrible place. They did not one single bit of rehab for me and they make you wear depends at night because even when you piss the call button, they don’t come. You just have to pee like three times in your depends before somebody might come and help you. The food is inedible. I lost 10 pounds being in that facility about seven or eight days. I can’t say one good thing about it.

The facility is very nice with an Impressionist Art motif. However, the food service is unevenly scheduled and the staff sometimes seems distracted. My wife was there two months recovering from NPH. In the end, she had a successful rehabilitation and has made outstanding progress, thanks largely to the wonderful corps of therapists and the caring help of focused nurses. I recommend Carrara for patients with proactive families who interact with all phases of rehabilitation. Special thanks to Kathy, Pooja, Pradip in Therapy; Samantha, Sherrie, and Tish in Nursing; and Pearline in Records.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Carrara. While choosing a skilled nursing facility for my mom to receive physical and occupational therapy, I wanted to ensure she would receive quality care in a good environment. From the moment I walked through the doors, I knew Carrara would be the best place for her. Carrara exceeded my expectations. My mom felt cared for, she enjoyed working with the therapists, and had a great time participating in the activities. Every staff member we encountered was considerate, kind, and professional. They foster a nurturing environment and helped my mom have a successful recovery! Tonya Brown is extremely knowledgeable and cares about the patients. She is phenomenal and helped my mom feel very welcomed. The nurses, Hesborne and FK are outstanding. The therapists, Nilam Negandhi, Pooja Patel, Clara N., and Pratibha Dhamoo are dynamic. Alpa, the activities director, treated my mom like family. She's fabulous! The receptionist, Katelyn Garcia and the concierge, Nakiya, are so helpful. Kodi and the other techs in the 200 hallway are fantastic. The tech, Mabel, is the sweetest. The social Worker, Mikki, is so knowledgeable and supportive. I am grateful to God my mom had a great experience! Carrara is blessed to have a wonderful staff!

My aunt was in this facility, let me say this is the best care she has recieved. Tiffany the wound nurse did great and was always ontop of everything constantly let us know what's going on with her wound. We appreciate all the nurses and CNA'S for there hospitality we know we choose the right place for her care. Highly recommend this facility

The facility is very nice and clean. Everyone is super welcoming reception has been very kind along with the transport driver Natasha. She has been very communicative and accommodating to to my schedule. My family and I had a great experience with Carrara in Plano. It’s not easy choosing a place for a loved one, but from the start, Carrara felt different. The building is beautiful and modern ” it doesn’t feel like a typical nursing home. It’s clean, quiet, and has a calm atmosphere that really helped put us at ease. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone we interacted with ” from the nurses to the front desk to the caregivers ” was kind, respectful, and genuinely cared about the residents.

I think that the therapy,the nurses,and certain CNA was wonderful which is what madeit easy to get thru the days but I would not recommend this facility at all to anyone. I'm still waiting on my wheelchair and toilet rIser to come and I contacted Jennifer Garcia the director left a message and text message but no response. I have lots of issues with this facility for one there a lot of favorites and not the right gender which isn't right at all it's against the law to discriminat. That all If you love someone don't send them to this hell whole please!!!!

If you’re looking for a place to take your loved one, Carrara is the place. The facility is vey clean. The management staff is excellent. Every department manager is very knowledgeable and willing to help matter what. CNAs care about the patients, and are very quick to respond to needs and call lights. Administrators Jennifer is always available, will help out in any dept. Hiba and Siri are very helpful and willing to answer all questions. The therapy at Carrara is hands down one of the best. Mitra the PTA is great and very caring. Wayne the COTA is great will make you laugh while taking your mind off therapy. Overall Carrara was an amazing faculty and staff and im glad I chose Carrara to care for my loved one.

This review is on my nurse, Samantha. She is the nicest and most helpful nurse I've ever had in any nursing home and I've been to and I have been to quite a few. When you push your help light, she is there to see to your needs., not like some other facilities where the aides will sit and ignore the buzzer and/ or calls for help.she is always smiling, even when she is hurting (being an aide is a very hard job)! I just want her recognized for the outstanding job she has done for me and others! Than you Samantha!!
