A relative was a long term resident at Collin Oaks from 2000-2024. Marriott originally ran the facility and it was outstanding. My relative was involved in a myriad of activities, social events, choir, church services, etc. He was very happy and active. When Emeritus took over activities declined and costs doubled. He was nearly as active or looking forward to social events and outings but still relatively happy. When Brookdale took charge there were even fewer activities, no outings to see holiday lights and such and cost increases at high percent. My relative became listless and lethargic and spent most of his time in his small cramped room. The large screen TV I had bought him disappeared and was replaced by a very small one which he used binoculars to see. Also all clothing I had provided disappeared and he was left with clothing (apparently cast off from other residents in varying sizes, ditto his shoes. Prior to Brookdale, he had been getting haircuts at the on premises shop and they would bill me direct. For the last year he was there I didn't receive any bills and only once did it appear his hair had been cut. Brookdale claimed he had dementia and moved him to Memory Care. One Sunday when visiting, my son and I were left in the activity room with him and two other residents with no staff. The woman fell asleep and her head hit a table, the man slipped out of his wheelchair and was on the floor. It took me five minutes to find a staff member and then she requested my son to help her get the man, who had soiled himself, back in the wheelchair. The situation was appalling. Zero stars would be my choice for this facility.

Inattentive staff and overpriced services. Food mediocre and not very appetizing. Rooms are not cleaned well but public areas are, the ones visitors see. Rooms are small. Activities have decreased considerably.

Just wanted to share my experience with Brookdale and a particular staff member named Deborah. Our dad has dementia and he has been a resident here for 8 months. Everytime I visit Deborah takes extra time to talk with us,and answer all of our questions. She is incredibly caring and is always engaging with the residents. Her compassion goes way beyond anything we could've hoped for! It's not easy when the decision has to be made for your loved one, but I have no doubt that Brookdale is where he belongs. Thanks to Deborah and staff it has been a pleasant experience.

I wanted to give a shoutout to 5 star sales manger Michaela. She took time even past 5pm in the evening, past her work shift to walk me through the facility very respectfully. She has a very deep understanding of assisted living facility and could satisfy my every question with precise and perfect answer and solution that Brookdale has for the situation/issues. As the Executive Director of the facility, Laura Evitts sets the tone at Brookdale by being available, responsive, friendly, and helpful! She and the rest of the staff have gone above and beyond to help our family and my mom so she is happy and comfortable. It is impossible for everything to be perfect all the time but any issues that have come up have been addressed quickly. We had to transition my Mother in Law into the memory care community at Brookdale Collin Oaks and the staff has made this very hard time much easier on our family. The nurses and front office staff have been amazing and have cared for my mother in law like they would their own family. They have gone above and beyond to make sure she is comfortable and well taken care of. The staff is very professional and the community is very clean and well maintained. I highly recommend this community.

I looked at several communities before selecting Collin Oaks. My father likes the family atmosphere and assistance he gets here. The community is easy for him to navigate being one story. When His care needs change, the nurse and staff quickly accommodates. The administrative staff is visible and has an open door but the entire staff is welcoming and sincere.

I am so happy I found Collin Oaks for my person. Pam at the front desk is so wonderful, helpful, and caring. Lola, the activities director is amazing, and the help I have received from Jenny and Leslie have made my persons transition to assisted living so much easier.

My Mom has slight dementia, is hearing impaired and has a speech impairment, yet everyone is very patient with her. They take time to greet her, speak loudly in her ear so she can hear and understand, etc... Of particular mention is the activities director, Lola and the concierge, Pam. They both look after Mom and makes sure she is involved and Mom seems to have a special connection with each of them. At her previous residence,Mom was unwilling to leave the facility on excursions. However, at Brookdale-Collin Oaks, the staff there has earned my Moms trust, and now she leaves the facility often for activities and looks forward to the next outings. Great job!

My father has lived at this community for over 2 years and my mother lived there until she passed in 2016. He absolutely loves it there. The staff have become part of our family. They just renovated and its beautiful. I would recommend Brookdale over any other senior living company. They just know what they are doing when it comes to taking care of my loved ones.

This is the best place to retire. The nurse , Mrs. Patience is one of the most hard working and humble human being I know. Most people who are working have a great heart who see the residents as their own family member. I work there for over 4 years. I still miss the environment . I f I had a loved one, I would definitely put there. The best place to retire is Brookdale at Collin oaks.

Fabulous! Second best decision Ive ever made. Love the food! First time Ive turned down dessert. I havent had three meals a day like this in forever. All the people are so nice, friendly and helpful. I would tremendously recommend it to anyone else.

My grandma lived here for 3+ years. We absolutely love the staff and residents. They took such great care of her. Although she was resistant to move into assisted living at first, with the help of the staff and resident ambassadors, she transitioned well and this truly was her home. We had such a great experience that I now work for the company.
