Couldn't be more Pleased! My sister and I have recently had to find a place for our mom & dad. The Ivy of McKinney is far and away the best best place. Their service & staff is second to none. They have a leadership team (James Fisher, Renee Najarro and care coordinator Nyree) that I would stack against any. They have addressed any and every care and concern promptly and professionally the whole way through. They understand completely the daughnting challenges presented when people must make a change from the way the are traditionally used to living. They make the entire transition as painless as possible. Their dedication is unparalelled, as much as even when out of town the concern and care about the stutus of my parents was put before tending to their own family business. Now show me that anywhere these days. Would you do that? This has to be a direct reflection on Ally Senior Living, that they would aquisition and do whatever is necessary to retain top shelf leadership like this.Couldn't be more Pleased! My whole experience at the Ivy has been amazing from the first day that I called very hectically trying to find a place for my mom, to weeks after moving my mom in. From the front desk to the caregivers everyone has been amazing and shown me and my family so much kindness. Coleen has held my hand through the process of getting all the paperwork together helping arranging movers and helping me and my family understand that its OK and my mom will adjust. I was invited to drop by unexpectedly so I could see how things run. I dropped by in the middle of dinner - people were serving plates people were being seated but the thing that impressed me most was the number of laughs, conversation, and banter that I heard going on not only between the people that live at the Ivy but how friendly the staff was to each one of these elderly people. I cant tell you the number of times I was asked if I wanted something to drink or if I needed anything- They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I talked to my mom every couple of days and she tells me so far her favorite part of living there has been every couple of hours they bring around a drink cart with snacks to their door and hand deliver them. My mom says the young lady that serves the drinks is always smiling calls her by name and comes into her room and if she needs something, she makes sure that it happens this is also the same lady that does the bingo on Friday nights that my mom goes to religiously. That was one of her favorite things to do before COVID-19 and Im so glad that they have the ability to do that at the Ivy. I just want to say thank you to everyone even those I havent met yet for all that you do for my family from the front desk when I call frantically because my moms not answering her phone to the caregivers for all of their kindness and patience. You guys have truly made the Ivy feel like home for my mom and youre even working with us about having caregiver visits so we can come in and see her thank you for all of the pictures for the updates and youre all-around greatness.

I would like to commend the staff at The Ivy of McKinney for the manner in which they handled a very difficult situation during the ice, storm weather that we experienced here in North Texas the week of February 16, 2021. Because of the extreme weather conditions in McKinney, Texas, The Ivy experienced some broken water pipes. Tough decisions had to be made about how best to care for the residents. The decision was made to move residents to a local church facility that had access to running water, if family members could not get to the facility to take residents to their homes. Luckily, I could get to The Ivy to get my mom to bring her to my house. While I was waiting inside the facility for staff members to gather Moms medications, I was able to observe how residents were being organized to be transported to the church. McKinney fire personnel were present and moving residents by stretcher to the bus for transportation. Residents were treated with such kindness by all fire personnel and Ivy staff members. Everyone participating in the transporting handled residents with patience and tender care. The process was well organized and executed carefully. I was reminded again why I feel that The Ivy is a good fit for my mom and why my family chose this facility in the first place.

Like most families, we were concerned about moving my mother to the next level. Although there were a few bumps in the road, everything from the intake process, the attention to detail in the cafeteria ( coffee mug with her name on it!), to Nurse Ruth and all the others, has been exceptional. My mother is happy, content, has friends, and is very comfortable in her new home. Thank all the staff for the wonderful job they do to take care of our Mother. Yall are a very special group.

The Ivy has been a perfect place for my parents and now my mom. The staff is warm and loving to all the residents. My mom loves that they remember her name. It is fun to see how the lobby is decorated for each holiday and season. It definitely makes you feel at home and helps remind my mom what season or holiday it is. The apartments are spacious and we had fun making it feel like home for my mom. My mom enjoys going to the dinner room for each meal and sitting with her friends. The food is very good and offers a good variety. Both my parents enjoyed the musical programs in the afternoon several times a month. It makes me happy to see my mom singing the old songs and a smile on her face. It makes my life easier that Angela is in the salon to do my moms hair every other week. She loves to have her hair done. I appreciate that the staff helps her pick-out her clothes and jewelry. Overall, I am very happy with Mom living at the Ivy.

I feel so blessed to have The Ivy of McKinney taking care of my father and being a part of my life. I live 8 minutes away so I stop in daily to say hello to my dad. Not only does the staff take care of my dad, they always make me feel welcome. Many times the staff offers me coffee and cookies and invite me to have a meal with dad. The med techs update me on my dads health and keep me informed with any changes to his medications. Its such a peace of mind for me knowing my dad is being well taken care of and is loved by the care givers at the Ivy. I would say everyone at the Ivy has spoiled my dad (and me) with love and care.

Before Mom even moved into the Ivy, we visited and observed. I was impressed that the staff knew every resident by name and engaged them in conversation - even in passing. Light banter flowed throughout the building.We visited quite a few apartment homes before selecting The Ivy. One of the main selling features was the size of the apartment. This one bedroom was one of the largest we saw. We also liked the amenities in each apartment. Kitchen with all appliances, washer and dryer in each unit, large walk in closet….Mom moved into her spacious apartment in May of 2018. She was welcomed by a plethora of staff and residents working to make her transition comfortable. At first she mainly needed company, which was provided by the caregivers and the residents. She was invited to sit at a table for meals, so that she didnt have to feel like she was foisting herself on a group.She has made close friends with several residents. There are activities daily in which she can participate, if she chooses. There is no pressure if she wants to just relax in her recliner. Trips for shopping several times a week so that she can get out, even if she doesnt need to shop.The level of care has been responsive to the varying needs over time. She is always allowed and encouraged to be as independent as possible with the support only a call away.We have been happy with The Ivy and see no reason to expect that to change.

This is the kind of place where everybody doesnt just do their job, they really care about you. They come by and give you a hug, they ask you about your day. Theres a difference between doing things and doing things because you want to do them. Thats what The Ivy is. I have lived in a place where staff would do things for you but you could tell it was just a job to them or they did it but didnt really want to. Here, everyone goes out of their way to handle my requests, no matter how big or small, they dont ignore them. That is this place, that is what I love about this place.

We are so thankful for finding this awesome facility for my sister and her husband ..Although they have only been residents for a few weeks I believe they both feel that this is home ..The care and love that the entire staff gives them is amazing ... The Ivy has so many special events and activities allowing family members to enjoy and be with their loved ones ...My sister made a comment at one of the social events that if she had known assisted living was so much fun she would have moved in sooner .. of course leaving ones home is never easy . The Staff understands this and makes every effort to make the transition easier .. for this we are so grateful ..A great big special thank you to Ms Ruth and Monique for helping us arrange for my sister and her husband to be near each other as he is in hospice care .. this allows her to see him whenever she wants to without us having to drive her to another facility and tire her out .. we are forever thankful and grateful to them ..I highly recommend The Ivy to anyone who might be needing a caring, loving facility for their loved ones

My 96 year old mother has lived at The Ivy since 2018. The staff is caring and do their best to provide everything that she needs in a timely manner. The Ivy may not be the fanciest, or the most expensive assisted living facility, but it does feel the most like home and that is what is important to my mom. Her apartment is large with a very big bathroom, a nice kitchen area a big bedroom and a huge closet. Having her own washer and dryer in the apartment is a great help. Since Surpass Living purchased The Ivy several months ago, there have been many improvements in the facility and in the service to the residents. I am confident that care at The Ivy has allowed my mother to be much more comfortable in her later years.

My father has been at the Ivy for about 2 years, previously with my mother who passed away last year. The staff at The Ivy has been very helpful and kind especially thru the difficult time of losing his wife. And in the isolation that has come as a necessity due to the pandemic, they have continuously looked for ways to break the monotony with appropriate activities. They even organized a Saturday morning parade of the families (in our vehicles) for the residents who were seated (distanced) outside.

What a relief to have my father-in-law in a place where he can have independence but still have help when needed. The staff is capable and so good with his quirks. The Ivy is a delightful place with plenty of opportunity for fun and community. We always feel welcome and take care of when we visit. Getting him close to us was important but so was finding a place that would give us peace of mind. The Ivy is it!eing an elder law attorney, I am very aware of the various levels of quality in Assisted Living. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend The Ivy to anyone who is looking!
