Reviews Grand Brook Memory Care of McKinney
May 2026
I would love to highlight the staff, caregivers and med tech team at Grandbrook, McKinney. They are all wonderful but I would like to especially thank Emmanuel from the med tech team this week for his special care for my mom. She has had a challenging week but his ultra warm and caring personality have given me much comfort knowing that she is in such great hands when our family can’t be there. He truly loves the residents and you can see it clearly by his words and actions. I appreciate him and everyone there!

My father was here for eight months before passing recently. This was our third Memory Care unit. And I can say hands-down, the best experience ever! He was so well taken care of. He was always clean, shaved, Dressed nicely and looked great. His room was never dirty. The facility was always in great shape. The activities were engaging and fun. I highly highly highly recommend Greenbrook in McKinney.! Your loved one will be well taken care of.

They took wonderful care of my Grandma. She was so happy here, and all the staff were so kind and caring. Thank you to Grand brook!
July 2025
My 95 year old Mom has been living here almost two years. I must say that in all my life, I have never witnessed a place of such love and care. The staff truly go out of their way to honor the residents as human beings. All while providing an atmosphere of fun, music, laughter, and spiritual support. The monthly rent is extremely reasonable as well, and residents have the opportunity to lock in a fixed price guarantee for as long as they live, also unheard of in my experience.

Robyn has been a blessing to our family. We are in the middle of getting my 97 year old mother moved from a very disappointing situation in another assisted living facility. She deserves the care and dignity that she has earned and i look forward to seeing mom thrive under the care and love that Robyn and her staff have already been showing our family. I know this is the right choice for mom and i can feel the heart of the people i have met at Grand Brook and i can tell this is not a job for them but their calling in life and they work with passion love and caring. I am thankful to God for helping us navigate this and my family is thankful and grateful the Robyn, the owners and staff for helping us through this process. Now we are excited to see mom begin to thrive again!!!!! Thank you everyone involved

As you are welcomed inside you will see the residents in the living room enjoying activities such as games, music, crafts, exercise, as well as a morning devotional to start each day. The entertainment staff does a wonderful job of keeping the residents engaged and having fun throughout the day. The caregivers are well trained and focused on providing the best possible care for patients with memory loss. The extra ingredient that sets them apart from some caregivers is the love and respect shown to the patients! It is evident that caregiving for them is a calling, not just a job!! Our family is so thankful that we chose Grand Brook, McKinney! It is the perfect fit for our loved one, and we are proud to be members of the Grand Brook family!
April 2025
My husband has been a resident for over 8 months. I am exceptionally well qualified to write this review because I visit my husband daily. I wish I could rate it more than 5 stars. Is this place perfect? Of course not but it has been a perfect placement for us. My husband is a difficult resident - paranoid, stubborn, a controller. His transition was challenging and the challenges continue. His transition was eased by "day stays" over a period of about 6 weeks. He loved the activities and looked forward to the days we went to the "recreation center". I could write a book about our experience but I will try to limit it to a few highlights and you are welcome to reach out to me for more details. First, the community is run like a ministry. The caregivers are extremely well trained on handling dementia patients and staff turnover is astounding low given the industry. Their model of rotating caregivers has allowed me to observe each one of them. Residents leave their rooms in the morning and do not return to their rooms until they are ready for bed. This means they have eyes on them all day. I have a camera that I monitor daily. All staff, including management, have been nothing but supportive about the camera. I have often been asked by the nurse and the director if I have observed anything that they need to be aware of. I have had concerns from time to time. They have responded promptly and appropriately to any concern raised. They have a 24 hour line and I can text anytime to that number. The caregiver supervisor carries that phone each shift and is responsive to texts and phone calls. If you want your loved one in a Christian environment and treated like family - look no further. This is a standalone memory care community. One of the reasons I selected it was because every staff member who deals with my husband has been trained in memory care. They never use agency staff to fill in and because they do not operate AL, Independent Living and Skilled Nursing under one roof, there is no need to move staff from one unit to another when they are short. On the financial side, the rate at entry is the rate until the resident leaves. I found no other facility that does this. They do not charge extra for medication management, levels of care...they don't nickel and dime you. I can have a meal with my husband as often as I want there and there is no charge. You know why? Because they treat my husband and myself as if we are family.

My mother has resided at Grand Brook Memory Care of McKinney for a little over 5 years. Upon moving into the community, her health improved dramatically. She received her medication properly, her nutritional needs were met with delicious meals and snacks, and her personal hygiene improved . Most importantly, she is lovingly cared for. She is spoken too, hugged, engaged in group activities, entertained, and well loved. The residents are all referred to as sweet sugars and that says it all! Grand Brook McKinney is Christ centered and prayerful. We are blessed! D’awn Carson
December 2024
We had a great experience visiting friends at Grand Brook of McKinney. The facility was clean and welcoming, and liked the added security of the digital visitor check-in. We’ve been to other care homes that didn’t have any security sign-ins. It was a great experience all around.
September 2024
Grandbook facilitated my mother in law's move from Florida two years ago, which would not have been possible without the personal involvement of Oracia and Stephen. In our observations over the past two years, the staff has been fantastic, respectful and truly caring with residents. Grandbrook has provided a positive impact on our lives. My wife and I will miss our recently departed mother and will also miss the entire Grandbrook community. We highly recommend Grandbrook memory care based on our experience.
July 2024
Friendly and attentive staff. Our mom took to several people on the staff, most notably Emanuel. This was the perfect place for our Mother to live out her last days with us. Would definitely recommend.
May 2024
My husband resided at GrandBrook McKinney from July 2019 until he passed in May 2020. During that time, he was very well cared for. I can say that because I was there almost every day, as were many other family members. It was like one big extended family. There were difficult times, especially with the advent of the dreaded pandemic, but we dealt with it as a family. My husband passed during this time (but not from Covid!). I felt the staff did a very professional and truly caring and compassionate job. As a comparison, my mama (94) just moved into another community (NOT GrandBrook!). She’s in an assisted living/memory care. It is very very expensive. Double the cost of GrandBrook. The experience thus far has made me acutely aware of just how good GrandBrook is. This place Mama is in is very luxurious but the food is mediocre, she can’t understand the staff, and she tells me they don’t listen to her. And the cost. I thought $14K a month would get her the very best and I would not be nickel and dimed with extra charges. Boy was I wrong. I should know by now that a high price does not necessarily equate to higher standards. At GrandBrook McKinney, I paid a flat, reasonable amount per month and NEVER received additional charges. No so where Mama is. I just found out that Grandbrook is not just for memory care. So, I’m thinking of calling Grandbrook!
February 2024
Very attentive to the residents and keep them active. The administrative staff have also been good to keep our family informed on how our loved one is doing. We are very pleased so far.
February 2024
My parents moved to Grand Brook in McKinney about six weeks ago and it has been a wonderful experience. The entire staff has bent over backwards for us and they have made it a seamless move from their previous facility. Grand Brook is always clean, friendly, busy with so many activities and there is always music playing. It is truly a happy and enjoyable experience for the residents. From the moment we walked into GB, we knew this was the place for our parents. I really like the peace of mind pricing and how the price doesn't go up as the care needs do. This was a huge stress at the last facility my parents lived. The only suggestion for improvements would be the paperwork in the beginning. There was a lot, (times 2 since I had both parents), and if they could automate it some how, this would make things much easier. The entire staff is always very prompt when I email or text with a question, and like I said, I cannot recommend Grand Brook enough.
December 2023
We placed our dear mother into care at Grand Brook McKinney and have been blown away by the exceptional treatment she has received there. The staff is uncommonly professional, compassionate, caring, generous, and helpful. We are so thankful we found such a warm and healthy environment that always goes generously above and beyond in everything they do. Mom loves Grand Brook and so do we! Five stars all the way!

I had a fantastic experience with Grand Brook Memory Care of McKinney. The community is exceptionally well-staffed, and it's evident that they truly care about their residents. The staff members are not only professional but also incredibly compassionate. I felt reassured knowing that my client was in capable and caring hands. I would wholeheartedly recommend Grand Brook Memory Care of McKinney to any families and friends looking for a supportive and warm environment for their loved ones. I have total faith in the management as well. Oracia, Anthony, Stephen,Millie, Stephanie, Heide and Robyn make a well working team. The food is good tasting and of great quality too!
July 2023
No one wants a loved one to require memory care, but if they do, I highly recommend checking out Grand Brook Memory Care of McKinney. I can’t say enough good things about the staff, the quality of care they provide to the residents, and the support they show for the families. They not only gave our mom excellent care but also treated her with love and compassion. It’s comforting to know that your family members or friends are safe and comfortable and that their needs, whether it’s medical, physical, or emotional, are met. Grand Brook meets all of these needs and more.
May 2023
Wonderful place, wonderful staff who constantly go above and beyond. We have shown up all at different hours of day and we are always pleased. They were outstanding during Covid, people are super friendly, our parent is well groomed and cared for. Clean facilities hard to find a better place.
February 2023
My husband has been at Grand Brook McKinney Memory Care for a month. Stephen called to welcome us with information we needed for his admission. The staff, all of them, are so caring. Tria and Taj keep the residents engaged with activities, music and fun games. The family atmosphere helps new residents and families feel at home and know they are well cared for. We are so blessed to be at Grand Brook in McKinney.
January 2023
My wife of over 55 years has been a resident of GrandBrook McKinney for over a year and a half. I feel truly fortunate to have found a place that cares for her and who she is/was. Everything is run professionally and competently. The way they have handled the Pandemic has only highlighted their outstanding attributes. Everyone is a professional in every sense of the word. I couldn't ask for more than that! I visit as frequently as I can and It gives me great comfort to know that my life-partner is treated with respect and love.
December 2022
I am so happy my wife is in GB Mckinney! I did a lot of research and this facility by all means the very best. They keep the residents involved in some activity all day. The staff is second to none!! My wife has been there almost a year and I am most pleased with the care and compassion she gets.
October 2022
Very professional, caring, and friendly staff who makes sure my mom feels loved, respected and engaged with others and in many activities. We are treated as family, and our concerns, questions and requests are quickly addressed. Best of all, my mom is happy.
October 2022
My wife suffered from Alzheimer's disease, and I cared for her at home. As the disease progressed, although I was reluctant to move her into a memory care facility, I had to admit that I could no longer care for her properly alone. I knew that she would receive better care than I could manage and would be safer, with the staff of a good memory care home looking after her. But how to determine which place was the best? I decided to search for a home that 1. Was for memory care only. 2. Was not too large. 3. Cared for their residents to the end of their illness. And 4. Was near enough to me that I could visit every day. I found Grand Brook immediately. It was the only home I found in McKinney that provided memory care exclusively. And it's not too large, a little over 40 bedrooms. I call it a "home" because that's the impression I got. A big one-story home. There is a large gathering room with a big TV and lots of comfortable seating. However, residents are not required to remain in that room. They are free to wander the corridors if they wish. There are two other comfortably furnished rooms with TVs. My wife liked to walk the corridors and visit the TV rooms. When I would arrive for a visit, if my wife wasn't in the main room, one of the care givers always knew exactly where she was. This always impressed me. I encourage you to arrange to visit Grand Brook and to spend a little while there to observe not only the facility, but to see the loving care that is given to each resident. I hope this will be helpful to anyone who is needing to find the right place for a loved one. When you visit there, maybe a group of residents in the large gathering room will be in the middle of one of the many games that they play. There is friendship and lots of laughter. Definitely not a "nursing home atmosphere". My other reason for writing this is to express how very, very grateful I am for every one of the employees at Grand Brook. Their friendliness and helpfulness and all-around cheerful and upbeat attitude make Grand Brook unique. Hopefully, when you visit there, you will feel, as I did on my first visit. This is the place.
July 2022
Our elderly family member was admitted to Grand Brook Memory Care Center in McKinney with dementia after having experienced a traumatic brain injury. Prior to his admission at Grand Brook he had been in a skilled nursing facility that provided him with horrific care. We were totally amazed at the difference in care after he was transferred to Grand Brook in McKinney. All of the staff and caregivers at Grand Brook provided him with wonderful care, both physically and spiritually. We never had any negative events while he was there. The staff members were all wonderful. We especially would like to acknowledge Oracia Savage-Executive Director, Robyn Washington- Director of Community Relations, and Stephen White-Director of Nursing Healthcare. and Heidi. (not sure of her last name). A very special thank you goes to Stephen White. He was always available and so committed to providing quality healthcare to his patients. He also always made sure the family was informed of what was going on with our loved one. Because of the wonderful care provided, we were able to bring our family member home after such an unexpected improvement in his condition. We will always be grateful for the wonderful people there and the great care he received. Thank you so much and God Bless you all.
March 2022
Grand Brook Memory Care of Allen was the perfect place to move my parents from independent living, especially during the COVID pandemic. All the caregivers at Grand Brook love on my parents as if they are part of their own family. The facility is beautiful and feels like a home. Sadly, my dad has since passed away, but my mom has found a new friend and she is now her BFF! Grand Brook has given me a great sense of peace knowing that my parents are cared for so lovingly! Thank you Grand Brook!!!

Grand Brook Memory Care of McKinney is an absolute blessing. The entire staff (top to bottom) are nothing less than OUTSTANDING! The staff interact with the residents on a daily basis and genuinely care about every resident. They offer regular Zoom update meetings for family members and the WhatsApp group to share news and photos of loved ones participating in activities happening within the community. Robyn, Stephen and Oracia went above and beyond to make the transition into the community for our loved one an absolutely positive experience. I can honestly say that everything about the Grand Brook feels like family.

All the staff are helpful, friendly and skilled. Very fast to respond when we need help. Preston and Doug are buddies. He gives a great shower and always comes to our aid. And the meals are good.
January 2022
Grand Brook Memory Care is the VERY BEST! Ever since Melissa with Baylor Hospital recommended Stephen White at Grand Brook I knew that I would find peace with my big brothers care. It took almost a year from the time Melissa recommended Stephen, for it to become possible for us to begin our relationship with Stephen and his wonderful staff. From the moment that I spoke to Stephen for the first time, up until now, I have felt an unwavering commitment to a level of care I could not have imagined at the time we first talked. The attention to detail, compassion and care big brother receives is unmatched in any medical facility we have been associated with prior to bringing big brother to Grand Brook. I can't begin to tell you how many times Stephen, Oracia and Heidi have gone out of their way, and have gone the extra mile, to help big brother with his daily needs for the past two and a half years. We continue to talk and share the day to day struggles with each other, either on the phone, or, in person. We share a confidence that Stephen and his staff are navigating for our family, doing their very best each and every day to provide exceptional quality care at Grand Brook. I consider it a blessing in life to be associated with these wonderful people, who care! God Bless,

Although I have limited experience with memory care facilities, i have to say that Grand Brook Memory Care of McKinney has THE Most Amazing staff. From sales to director of nursing to director, and most importantly, the caregivers and folks that interact with the residents on a daily basis - every single one of these people actually seem to like their work and CARE about the residents! With the regular Zoom update meetings for family members and the WhatsApp group to share news and photos of events and activities, it's easy to feel connected to your loved one. It is really, truly amazing to me - and especially at such a stressful time for family members - choosing where to have your loved one live - the Grand Brook team is stellar! So happy we chose Grand Brook for our Mom, and even with her dementia, she still consistently tells me how sweet everyone is that works here. If you have to deal with these devastating illnesses, I'm happy to have Grand Brook along for the journey!
June 2021
It would take me writing an entire novel to properly express and explain what a true blessing Grand Brook-McKinney has been for our family. We found GBM a month ago after putting up with very sub par care and treatment for 2 months in an Allen Memory care facility. Oh! How I wish we had gone to GBM first”but so very thankful she is under their loving care now. Specifically, she now has a team helping her every step of the way to manage her medication. Under the watchful eye and extremely kind heart of Stephen White, RN, my mom is finally getting all the help she not only needs”but deserves. His patience and empathy not only for her, but our entire family, his 24 hour availability by text or phone, and his true love for his job are unequaled. He has become a member of our family. The rest of the staff is also amazing and it all starts at the top with the director, Oracia. She has created a team of skilled professionals who treat both residents and their families with dignity, care and love. Very important note: All employees at Grand Brook receive a minimum of 64 hours of training in memory care in their first 3 months”as well as ongoing training each month. This is what makes GBM unlike any other place we found. The activity program is also another amazing plus. Tria keeps residents engaged all day long with games, song, dance, trivia contests, and so much more. I have never seen her without a huge smile on her face as she moves from person to person to keep each one entertained, active and thinking. Taj is also so good with the residents. He sings, plays great oldies on his guitar, and works so well with everyone”no matter their level of ability to engage. Residents are encouraged constantly to participate as they can. My mom, who is unable to do that, is still engaged by merely watching and listening to the activity. One of our biggest issues when we came had to do with nutritious food. We are more than pleased with the menu offered at GBM. Fresh fruit and vegetables are a staple. Processed/frozen food is very limited. Spices and condiments are readily used and made us so happy. My mom did not work all her life to have to eat fish sticks and mystery meat”and Grand Brook changed all that for her. Many kudos to their culinary team for sure! Since we have only been there a month, we have not learned everyone’s names, but I feel the need to shout out to a few of the awesome people who have already made a wonderful impression on us! Emmanuel is a true blessing and has such a sweet relationship with my mom. Jimmy, Nancy, Maria, Vanessa, Taylor and Rebecca are always ready to help and do everything with such pleasant attitudes. I smile watching them interact with my mom. Their memory training shines in their ability to communicate and comfort her. Heidi is the admin assistant but spends so much time interacting with residents and families. She is always happy to help, energetic and such a sweet, bubbly presence! Robyn, is the community director and her enthusiasm for her job is very contagious”she is always there to answer questions and help. And last but not least, a huge compliment to Connie! She is an amazing housekeeper and takes such pride and ownership in her mission. Mom’s room is always beautifully clean and smells amazing! Grand Brook McKinney runs like a well oiled machine, but is chock full of loving care, professionalism, and personality. Thanking God every day for guiding us to Grand Brook. The End. (The way every good novel ends!)

I cannot say enough about the excellent care my husband receives at Grand Brook Memory Care in McKinney TX 75070. Special recognition to Stephen White RN who’s ability to connect with my husband is beyond appreciated. There is no way our family could navigate the tragedy of advanced declining Dementia without the communication and dedicated care provided by Grand Brook Memory Care in McKinney TX.
June 2021
My wife was a resident at Grand Brook Memory Care of McKinney. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a residential home for their loved one with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. Memory care is all they do and they are very good at it. The facility is warm and welcoming, with nice resident rooms and several pleasant common areas to provide variety. There is a real family atmosphere there, and visitors are always welcome. The staff is very experienced and show real devotion to their work and real care and concern for the residents. They treat their residents with dignity and respect - like family.

We have had an amazing experience with placing my Dad at Grand Brook. It's been a challenging road, but the entire team at Grand Brook have been so kind, warm and supportive to my family and my Dad. The DON, Stephen has been so patient, warm and helpful. I'm not sure we would be where we are without him! He and the entire team of caregivers, have shown us how they put the families and patients first and go above and beyond to ensure the best care for each person.
April 2021
I was so distraught at what was available for my mom until I found Grand Brook. The day I set my foot in the door, met Stephen White the Director of Healthcare and his staff, I knew I found my mom's forever home. The facility is immaculate, not an ounce of trash any where on the property. Each staff member so courteous and kind and exude joy and compassion to help our loved ones. They enjoy what they do and it shows. The facility runs like a well oiled engine. They send videos and pictures of mom consistently. They engage her, love her, pray for her and with her. They have guided me with confidence and reassurance the entire way, I was very skeptical having a terrible experience at another facility. The Director, Executive Director and other staff members went the extra mile to reassure me they are in this business out of compassion for the elderly, providing the care they need and deserve and above all the dignity they deserve. It hasn't stopped not for a minute. I love visiting, it is not depressing but always active and joyful. They work hard to accommodate family needs no matter what the ask is. They have fought this pandemic with fierce fervor and resolve and in my opinion, they have won! This gem should not be overlooked, I don't know how I missed it but I am so thankful I found it.
March 2021
My Dad has been a resident for over a year now and I cannot begin to tell you what an incredible place Grand Brook is. Every single employee makes us feel like we are part of a large family. We see daily pictures/videos of the daily activities which has been wonderful during Covid lockout. The director has advocated on our behalf w/ the state & w/senators to get the best for my Dad & the others. The design of the facility is such that there are neighborhoods & the residents are encouraged to roam & explore. There is plenty of natural sunlight & the facility is just a one story which has been great to visit Dad outside his window due to Covid restrictions. I cannot say enough wonderful things. HIGHLY recommend!! Happy Dad!
February 2021
Grand Brook Memory Care has taken care of my mother and father on several respite stays. In the past, they have done an excellent job of taking care of them. Since my father's passing, they still care for my mother from time to time. They truly have a heart of compassion for taking care of their residents. In fact, I trust them more than any other home my parents have stayed in. When I pick up my mother, she always looks happy and smells good. The staff also puts a lot of effort into daily games and mind-stimulating activities. I highly recommend Grand Brook Memory Care!!

Grand Brook Memory Care is excellent in all aspects. Nurse Stephen White, Staff director Oracia , and the kitchen staff as well as the care givers strive for excellence in all they do. This is especially true during the recent pandemic. They came highly recommended and we concur. The facility is kept spotless and maintained by staff such as Francisco and other workers. Grand Brook would be an excellent choice for anyone seeking this type of care.

My father lives at Grand Brook in McKinney and he loves it there. The residents and unbelievable staff really make it a remarkable home. During the pandemic we have been able to visit anytime because the property is all first floor and we can visit through the window. Some of my friends have loved ones in multi story properties and they are limited on visits. We can visit anytime through the window without an appointment.
November 2020
Grand Brook has been a blessing. The staff are patient and caring. The residents days are full of activities. Stephen has gone above and beyond to see that our loved one is happy and comfortable. We could not be happier with our choice.

My husband has been a resident at Grandbrook, McKinney since 12/2019. I can not begin to express how wonderful and loving, the care he is receiving. the residents are treated as family in a true christian enviorment. No one could ask for better care anywhere. It gives so much peace of mind.

Grand Brook is a loving, caring home for our mother. Mom has received the best care. Alzheimer's is a sad disease but the caregivers at GB brighten my mom's day, everyday. Mom enjoys the music, activities and food. We know she is in a clean, safe community with cheerful and loving caregivers. They have become our family.

November 2020
Grand Brook has been an answer to our prayers. Mom was moved to the McKinney home in 2019 and has transitioned well due to the ever present and loving staff. She is cared for 24 hours a day and the staff communicates well with our family for any needs or health issues. Thank you Stephen, Oracia, Jeanine, Robyn, Millie and all the rest of the staff that care for our loved ones. God Bless you!

My Texas sisters and I moved our dad to Grand Brook almost a year ago and our experience with him there since has been nothing short of phenomenal. To say the management and staff there are all outstanding, loving, caring, and skilled is the understatement of the century. The care that my dad has received and the attention to detail is almost unbelievable. He went there confused, angry, depressed, and withdrawn but now loves his life, his friends, and the staff like they were family. He is positive, engaged, happy, and content and I can say that is all because of the environment that is Grand Brook of McKinney. He absolutely loves the plethera of daily activities and the fact that if he feels like just sitting in the atrium and soaking up the morning sun, or sleeping in and taking breakfast in his room on a particular day, he can do that as well. The facility has a "homey" feel about it and is bright, airy, and always spotless and dad is always clean and well presented as well. The management and staff have always had excellent communication with the families but with the Covid challenges, they not only stepped up to the challenge but have gone over and above the call of duty in keeping us updated about our loved ones, communicating with them through Facetime and other means, and making sure we are familiar with the current Covid state regulations and progress. God touches this place and the staff that work there every single day, there is simply no other explanation for it. We rest in knowing that our dad is happy and well taken care of and that we don't ever have to worry about him. I live over 2000 miles away but told my husband that if I ever need to be placed in a memory care home, he has to promise to send me to Grand Brook, even if it means he rarely gets to visit me in person!
August 2020
My son and I visited several memory care facilities before selecting Grand Brook McKinney for my husband. The administration and all other staff members made the difficult decision to place him in a memory care community much easier. I have never seen such a hard-working and caring group of people. Their dedication to keeping the family informed about the residents health and needs is very reassuring. I feel comforted by their willingness to pray for the needs that surround us. In short, I trust them.

When my father passed in January of this year it became quite clear that my mother required more care than we were able to provide. My sister quickly began looking for a facility for my mother while I handled arrangements for my father's funeral. I remember when she said, "I have found the perfect place for mom. It feels like home and I talked to other family members of residents and they had nothing but good and positive things to say about the place and the care of their loved ones." As a result, I join the family members of Grand Brook McKinney with only praise for the staff, caregivers, and administration! I have witnessed the loving kindness given to my mother. I feel informed of her care and disposition at all times. I have every mobile number of the staff and can reach them as needed. They provide creative ways to engage my mother in activity and for me to stay in touch with her during Covid-19, which I appreciate immensely. I only have praise for Grand Brook McKinney! I believe with all my heart that it is the very best place for my mom and I praise the Lord for His hand in it!

My husband has been a resident at Grand Brook for about three months. He has had a difficult adjustment, and all the staff has been unfailingly kind, patient, and compassionate. I continually see him surrounded by love and care. The communication is excellent, and all my questions and concerns are promptly addressed. I am very grateful that we found Grand Brook.

Grand Brook McKinney is a vibrant, comfortable community doing its very best for its residents. The staff is knowledgeable, experienced, energetic, creative, solution-focused, and loving toward their residents and families. The activities are engaging and the daily care is excellent. You will be happy to have your loved one in this community!

It is with extreme gratitude that I'd like to thank the staff. Everyone that I personally encountered was so kind and gentle and patient in their handling and speaking with my mother-in-law. She was in loving hands at her very end. We thank you. Tom & Darla Reeder

As a healthcare professional I visit facilities on a daily basis. This facility is always clean and tidy. The staff is always very attentive, caring and friendly. In my opinion it is one of the best memory care centers in the area.
August 2019
I met with the folks at Grand Brook (Steven and Jeanine) and could tell how caring they were right away. I met with others who had their loved ones in the community and they were very complimentary of staff and happy with the community. The McKinney facility was a clean and comfortable setting with a lot of different spaces that make it a stimulating community setting. Since it is a memory care facility they are skilled providing for the special needs of the residents. Whenever I visited they had the residents engaged in activities and there was a positive energy around the room. They were on top of my Mom’s medical needs all the way. Loving group of people...highly recommended!

Grand Brook Memory Care of McKinney has been a caring, nurturing, and safe haven for my mom. I can’t say enough good things about the staff. The RNs became involved with my mom and my family right away. Their loving and professional care has continued since my mom has become a resident. Also the RNs communication with the family has been great. The front office staff, Engagement Managers, caregivers, and the Anchor of Hope Hospice are phenomenal. I go there almost everyday, and see each staff member engaged to meet the needs of the residents. GB McKinney definitely has earned my 5 stars for caring for, loving, and respecting my mom.

Grand Brook has been such a blessing to my father and to our family. This is my dad's first year in a care facility, and we feel so fortunate that we found Grand Brook. The staff clearly are special people and have been carefully selected and well trained on how to handle even the most difficult situations with grace and reassurance. Residents are compassionately cared for and provided with stimulation and personal engagement on a daily basis, and my dad really enjoys the personal interactions with staff and residents. Robyn, the activity director, is creative and energetic in bringing life and engagement to the group, and Dad loves the live music and games that are provided during recreation times. Family parties and events are regularly sprinkled into the monthly schedule, and visits are encouraged whenever family can come. The meal menu changes daily and dad always cleans his plate! Medical care is monitored daily via the on-staff healthcare directors who contact us whenever concerns arise or decisions need to be made (thank you, Stephen!) Oracia, the executive director, and her assistant, Heide, are both sweet and very approachable and are responsive to any questions or needs I might have have. The caregivers are just wonderful and I feel safe that everyone there really knows my dad and what he needs from them. I rest easy at night and have a sense of trust and comfort that Dad will be well cared for and enjoy life at Grand Brook.

Grand Brook Memory Care of McKinney is such a comfort and a true "home" for my father. After checking out more than eight facilities, our family quickly fell in love with Grand Brook. The staff is incredible and after many months of observing them, I have never seen or heard an impatient or brusque comment or action. Patience, care, love, and authenticity is always present. Patients are shown impeccable attention and concern for every detail. Dignity is granted each patient, from the lovely dining rooms with real dining tables and chairs, porcelain plates, and sweet service to the smiles and laughter staff generates on a daily basis...this is truly a blessed place. (My father often believes he is on a cruise ship much of the time.) Having a Medical Director on staff is amazing and he works closely with doctors, hospitals, and technicians to assure safety and quality health care. Activities are constant and engaging, with tenderness and special attention for those unable to fully participate. Parties and dinners for family and residents are beautiful, happy occasions, and well thought out. This memory care unit manages to put a smile on the face of both the families and residents....even when it may be a tough day to get through. Their support is incredible and I highly recommend Grand Brook McKinney for your special loved one. We have been truly blessed to find such a safe, happy place for our dear loved one.

Wonderful experience with Grand Brook Memory Care of McKinney with very caring people in a tough occupation. When you walk in to the facility, it always smells like home cooking!
October 2018
My wife has suffered with memory loss for over five years, I finally realized I could not provide the care my wife needed at home. After visiting numerous facilities in McKinney my daughters and I chose a facility which provided residents with both assisted living and memory care support. After a few months we decided it was better to move my wife to a facility that was dedicated to memory care only. A dear friend of ours recommended we visit Grand Brook of McKinney. From the first visit Grand Brook of McKinney felt like home. The staff is so very caring and considerate and the care givers are dedicated and wonderful. The facility is decorated beautifully and truly feels like a home. The apartments are warm and cozy, the dining rooms are set up to accommodate any residents help needs, the outdoor areas and the two big tv rooms provide wonderful places to relax. My wife always has a closet full of clean clothes and the food is wonderful. Two other distinctions that make Grand Brook stand out from other facilities are the full time RN that has an office in the facility and the full time Life Engagement Manager (and assistant) that provides activities all day long for the residents. Grand Brook McKinney is a wonderful place. A standout among memory care facilities.
October 2018
After nine years of being a caregiver for my husband who has Alzheimer’s, it became apparent that soon it would be necessary to place him in a Memory Care Facility. My search lasted several months and included not only visiting facilities but talking with others who had personal experience. Some facilities obviously fell short and others, although new and beautiful, I was concerned lacked in staff experience. There was only one that I visited several times. This became the only one where I could visualize my husband living. My husband has now been at Grand Brook Memory Care of McKinney for two months. Although there was an adjustment period of several weeks, my husband is now settled in and happy. He is involved with activities that include new resident friends as well as the staff who are very engaged with him. I am so happy and pleased that my husband is at Grand Brook Memory Care Of McKinney and they allow him to be the best he can be even as the disease progresses. Thankful wife.

Recently I was tasked with finding memory care for my mom in the McKinney area. I visited her often in her previous location, a well respected facility in Tyler. I've experienced whats available in memory care. I chose Grand Brook based on a favorable first impression, my sons recommendation, the on site medical professional, and price. I was lucky. Grand Brook is much more. A smallish community, they gather in a common area each morning and afternoon to take part in planned activities. Professionals are on staff to plan and direct these activities. Each patient participates according to their capabilities and although their memory and mental facilities are gone, they are still engaged, living life and relatively happy. The food is good and they eat together. Aid is provided when needed. Personal interaction is encourage but appropriately monitored. The onsite medical professional knows the status and medical needs of all the patients and contacts the families directly when needed. Other medical professionals (dentists, etc) are called in on a regular basis and their services are offered if desired. The care staff is patient and attentive. The environment is clean and safe. The patients are well groomed, clean, and safe. If there are individual patient needs, the care staff does their best to ensure those needs are met. Schedules are maintained so that patient care is reliable and consistent, not arbitrary. Lastly the administrative staff takes an active part in the care of the patients. They know all the patients and their needs. They know the patients families and their desires and goals. They actively assist the care staff in day to day operation of the facility. Its personal to them and they make every effort to meet the needs of their patients and families.

Grand Brook Memory Care is run by compassionate and caring professionals. They took good care of my Mom and had a listening ear for what the family wanted. Thank you to Grand Brook..

My wife has been at Grand Brook McKinney for about 18 months. Care givers are mostly excellent. 'However, discipline does break down from time to time, too often in my opinion. Bathroom breaks can take as long a 4 hours and maybe up to 6 hours unless staff is notified. Medications have been messed up in the past. In my opinion local management is weak. I visit three times a day. If I raise an issue the response is usually excellent. However, there are enough breakdowns that I am uncomfortable going out of town for even a couple of days without hiring a care giver to supplement the Grand Brook staff.

From our first contact with Grand Brook we were impressed. With the aid and personal guidance of Grand Brook nursing and ownership we successfully transitioned my father from an out of state memory care into Grand Brook. His comparative well being is improved greatly and we attribute this to the overall approach to care that the entirety of the staff practices.

We got a lot of experience in elder care in 2017 with both mom and father in law needing to move from home to assisted living -- one due to a broken hip and one due to continued dementia decline. Grand Brook of McKinney is the second memory care facility my father in law has been in. Grand Brook McKinney is head and shoulders over the other memory care facility we experienced and the many other facilities we visited. These guys are dedicated to memory care and they hire people who love this work. If you are looking for a big corporate owned facility this is not your place. While they have several locations they are still family run and we encounter the founder at the facility and she knows the residents by name. Grand Brook McKinney is great and I suspect their other facilities are of equal quality.
February 2018
I have observed the staff on many occasions and find them to be gentle, patient, and caring. They call the residents by name and encourage them to be all they can be. They appear to make every effort to meet the residents' individual needs. The facility is clean and well kept. Special holidays and birthdays are observed and the group seems to enjoy them very much. Grand Brook is a relatively small facility and lends itself to the very attentive nature of the staff.
January 2018
We are very happy at Grand Brook. Very happy with staff. The food is good. I have worked at a nursing home so I kind of knew what I wanted and was very happy to find GB. They are very kind to Wayne and his room is always clean. I can’t say enough nice things about them. I Trust Them!

A Lifemate needing care is one of the heart breaking life experiences. There is a feeling of neglect when you realize you need help. For us Grand Brook Memory Care not only cared for my precious husband but for me and my family. The care givers addressed him and others with their name for a needed personal expression. The dignity for the difficult issues meant so much. The residents were out and about in the facility having the personal interaction of activity with others. End of life was respected with continued caring physically and emotionality.

My Grandma was moved here 3 months ago. She had previously been at an assisted living. I can say, as her guardian, that this place has truely been a blessing. From the caregivers to the office staff, every person at this facility is well qualified with all forms of Dementia. The facility has a great family feel because lots of family members come to visit loved ones everyday. I feel extremely comfortable and safe having her there. It's hard to say why, but Grandbrook Is just different than all of the other facilities. Every time I visit, I leave feeling assured that she is in the right place.

My 90 year old mother is a resident of Grand Brook, and we love it. She has lived in a number of senior residences which for one reason or another have not worked out, so we were delighted to find this one. Grand Brook has the most caring, professional staff (from the office staff to the caregivers) that we have encountered; they go above and beyond to meet Mom's needs and solve problems if necessary. It truly offers a family feeling which is very comforting to my sisters and me. I would highly recommend Grand Brook McKinney to any family that is seeking a memory care facility for a loved one.
July 2017
It was hard to see our once active and energetic mother decline mentally and physically. Originally, mom went to a new assisted living facility that soon did not meet her needs for additional care. My sister and I visited many facilities that were nice, but none of them displayed the level of caring, compassion and interaction with their residents that we wanted for mom. When we visited Grandbrook Memory Care in McKinney, we knew we had found the right place for her. She has now resided there four months and we continue to feel blessed that we found Grandbrook and their caring staff.

I took care of my precious husband of 57 years, after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, for 8 years. The time came when I had to find a safe home for him. This was the hardest decision imaginable. I spent one year visiting care facilities, dropping in with and without appointments. I finally decided on Autumn Leaves of McKinney. My sweetheart has now been there many months; I truly believe God helped me make the perfect decision. The staff made this transition so easy. They are all so committed to the nurturing care they give to everyone including our family. I cannot thank the staff enough and I have such peace of mind now because of their loving care.
December 2013
Dear Staff of Autumn Leaves, It has been one year since our mother became a resident of Autumn Leaves, McKinney. After a very distressing decision to place our mother in a memory care unit, our family toured many facilities. Autumn Leaves was our choice for many reasons. First, the entire staff demonstrates kindness and thoughtfulness to all the residents. They are spontaneously friendly and are helpful to both the residents and family members. Further, Kenny Nash, the Life Engagement Manager, is constantly presenting the most creative and inspiring ideas to engage all the residents regardless of ability. Mike Johnson continues the program on the weekends. Their calendar is busy every day. Additionally, Mary Gilliam, the Director recognizes each resident as an individual. She is receptive to information from family members and residents. She listens and understands our concerns. Monthly, families are invited to events at Autumn Leaves. The food and fun have always been excellent. The building and grounds are attractive and maintained. Our family is grateful to every staff member of Autumn Leaves. Thank you seems too little, but Thank you so much.
December 2013
We are almost at 1 year since we arranged for my Mother (Kitty) to reside at Autumn Leaves. It really does not seem like it was that long ago. I remember visiting the community for the first time. After seeing what was available and meeting the staff, my wife and I knew that we had found the right place for Mom. We were immediately impressed at how home like it is at the residence. While there is space for the residents and all of the activities, the residence does not seem institutional at all. The grounds are well kept and are refreshed on a regular and ongoing basis. We were also pleased to have space in Mom’s room to place her furniture. She tells me regularly that she likes her room at the residence. Another highlight at Autumn Leaves is the staff and caregivers. My experience in dealing with staff members and caregivers has been comfortable and positive throughout the time Mom has resided here. It is obvious that the staff cares about what they do. The caregivers share a great rapport with the members of the community. It is clear to me that Mom is well cared for and she often tells me how nice different staff members are to her. That means so much to me. Mom also regularly comments on how much she likes the food at Autumn Leaves, so kudos to the culinary staff as well. Another comfort to me is that the staff is quick to notify me of any personal items that Mom needs. The monthly newsletter is well done and informative. It includes pictures and highlights residents and staff members. This is a very nice feature as it helps my Mom’s sisters and my sister stay in touch with what is going on. We also enjoy the family events and dinners. It is clear that a lot of preparation goes into these events. The most important aspect to me is that Mom is happy and feels at home at Autumn Leaves. We are very pleased with the care Mom receives at Autumn Leaves. Thanks.
