About Golden Age Home Personal Care
Golden Age Home is a blend of assisted and independent living, including sixteen units reserved specifically for affordable housing (low-income) seniors. Golden Age Home began as a dream of the members of First Methodist Church, Lockhart, in the 50s. These members set out to create a place where older adults could age with dignity, purpose, and Christian compassion. While the services provided include cooking, cleaning, laundry, assistance with activities of daily living, medication management, healthcare oversight, social engagements, lawn care, household repairs, and more, this does not define our organization.
More than six and a half decades since opening, Golden Age Home remains the only nonprofit senior living community in Lockhart and Caldwell County. Approximately forty residents now call Golden Age Home their home. However, hundreds, maybe even thousands, have called it home throughout the ages. The mission has stayed steady across generations: to provide exceptional, compassionate, Christian care that empowers older adults to thrive with dignity and purpose. Core values—exceptional care, empathy, and belonging—are woven into daily life, reflected in the way residents are embraced not as clients, but as family.
Golden Age Home would be a building if not for the dedicated staff who have ministered to senior adults. Many staff members have served the community for 20–30+ years, including Executive Director Nicole Burnett, who will celebrate 20 years of service in the fall of 2026. Their longevity speaks to more than just commitment—it reflects a calling, a shared belief in the importance of caring for seniors with respect, warmth, and unwavering compassion. They are the heart of our organization. Their love and care turn Golden Age Home into a home and family for those who come to live in our home.

We love GAH! We have had two family members stay throughout their PT rehab time. Their staff was helpful and caring, we appreciate the high level of communication and clear expectations. They are also doing great things in the community with all their kid events!

We enjoyed our very FIRST Easter event. My son is 21 months and is having a blast being around a big crowd. We were recognized by a resident who attends our church and that was special. We'll be back next year for sure!! God bless everyone who helped put this together.

Golden Age Home Assisted Living staff was remarkable today in their efforts to give back to the community and children today in their annual Easter Egg Hunt and more. This review is based on personal interactions with the management and staff at Golden Age Home, Assisted Living, in Lockhart Texas; as well as my moms' residence at this facility for seven plus years. The care and assistance provided our mom during her stay at this facility was excellent and very much appreciated. Special needs and requests were reasonably resolved and at various times included unexpected events. The special and holiday events and entertainment/activities provided the residents were numerous and certainly appreciated. Unfortunately and due to our mom's declining health we were forced to move her from this "assisted living" facility to a nursing home. Kudos to the staff and management.

My mother was a resident at Golden Age for several months. While the facility is a bit outdated, the care she received there was exceptional. It was quickly determined that my mother needed a higher level of care and the staff at Golden Age went above and beyond to help me get my mother the help she needed and into a facility that was better suited to her needs. The Executive Director oversees many residents. However, her lines of communication were amazing and I would not have been able to stabilize and find placement for my mother without her support. The staff at Golden Age really cares and takes pride in their work.

I was so happy today when my mom called and told me how happy she was at Golden Age. The staff are so loving and kind, They always have something happening to keep the residents engaged and having fun. Thank you Golden Age for loving on my mom. Jessica, the activities coordinator sincerely cares and Nicole the director has a heart of gold, as well as the rest of the staff.
