My husband and I lived at Discovery Village Independent Living for a year and eight months. We knew our time there would be limited due to my husbands health needs. I am as picky as one can get and loved cooking for my crew at home, but I have to say that the kitchen staff did a fantastic job working with my wheat allergy as they possibly could. My sweet husband had the consistent environment he needed with plenty of activities that he could enjoy and I cannot say enough about the friends we made there that made it so very tough to walk away when the time came. They were all so caring, understanding, and tolerant of whatever the day brought to them and us. The silly dancing, faces and remarks made for the sake of laughter knowing that it was all for a moment filled with that feeling of shared joy, encouraged and joined in by friends. Our apartment was cleaned once a week and any necessary extra care was quickly taken care of by the maintenance staff. Never a refusal for help carrying heavy supplies and concerns were listened to and acted upon as far as security. The exercise room is well equipped and physical therapy is ready, willing, and qualified when needed even coming to the individual apt. as necessary. I found it impossible to say goodbye without tears as the need came for my husband to enter into additional care. No doubt, it was like leaving home and family all over again for both of us. Adjustments are never easy but Discovery Village does an excellent job at making it a bit easier with the help of all the residents there. Hugs to them all!

This community is really great! The tour was fantastic. The staff are all so knowledgeable and friendly. Many of the residents stopped to chat and suggested we NEEDED to move in right away! The place is well maintained. All of our questions were answered. We enjoyed our lunch. Top notch!

Everyone here has been so very welcoming and friendly throughout the whole process of moving my mother in. The staff is all amazing and move in has been easy! The food is amazing too! Couldn't recommend it more!

This has been a wonderful place for my parents and they are very happy. The transportation provided has been inconsistent at times with some of the rules for when and how it is used changing dependent on who is available to drive.

From: Donna Lynch - Resident Well I am at my one year anniversary, thought I would write down my experience at Discovery Village. Compared to how I was when I first arrived I am happy I'm here. The residents and staff make all the difference! The first year was tough. However I met such wonderful and helpful people here it started to make a difference. I'm not kidding here, I haven't met anyone that isn't pretty great! Not only are the residents warm and friendly but the staff is available for anything you might need. The front desk ladies are incredible! The chef's and wait staff work so hard at keeping alot of folks fed and happy and that's not easy! Many thanks to Stephanie. She is happy to help with anything!! And Brooke and Bob thanks for your exemplary care with anything you throw at them. All of these people have helped me through a life changing event in a positive and caring manor. So to sum this up I can look at the past year as a positive change. That's exactly why I'm on my 2nd year! I bet I will have a 3rd year update. I bet it will keep getting better. I have now lived at Discovery Village at Castle Hills in Lewisville Texas for over two months. Discovery Village is a 55+ apartment complex for active seniors. I really didn't know what to expect but after looking at multiple options I decided on Discovery Village and I am so glad that I did. My wife is in long term memory care so we sold our house and I don't like cooking for myself. Even though I am very active, I feel safe here which is important to me at 76 years old. The apartment is spacious and has a nice kitchen as well which is kind of funny since I eat all my meals in the dining room. It is so nice to have truly remarkable meals ordered from a plentiful menu and each entre made to my order. I like that there is Happy Hour at 4:00 daily which includes adult beverages. Housekeeping is included weekly. They even change the linens for me. The maintenance crew helps hang pictures besides responding almost immediately to any request. All I do is call the concierge and I can get any information I need and all the services I want. The swimming pool is heated year-round and the hot tub is amazing. They even have a water aerobics class. Also included are two gyms with up-to-date equipment and a full-time free trainer. There is also in house physical therapy. It has been so nice to be able to get my Covid shots here (not mandatory). I haven't used it but there is transportation available at no cost. There are more activities going on than I can count and a full time activities director. All of the employees are wonderful from the cleaning staff to the servers in the dining room to the management and executive director. There is no aloofness here at all, everyone is very approachable. In short, I love it here. Another 9 months have passed. Totally delighted still 5 stars Now well into my second year here. I am isolating due to covid. It's amazing how this place has responded. All I have to do is call down and tell them what I want to eat and they deliver an amazing hot meal right to my door for free. They call and check on me and offer to get anything I need. Just can't think of anywhere to live, especially when you are under the weather.

My daughters choose Discovery Village at Castle Hills for me to be close to them when I moved from New Zealand. Bob Khalife greeted me with a hug welcoming me to Village life! I have met so many wonderful people and am settling in happily. Highly recommend this place.

Honestly I have never seen such incredible people in one place before! From sales, thankyou Stephanie, to concierge, thank you Cathy, Colleen, Jill and Proferia and to all of the dining staff and Chef of course and management, thankyou Bob and Brooke. These folks make Discovery such a fantastic place to live. I think I will be here for a while. Especially since my sister will be moving here as well. So thank you to all of these wonderful people who make this such an awesome and beautiful place to live.

The meals at Discovery Village are well prepared and the menus offers a wide variety to choose, for breakfast lunch or dinner. The menu offer a choice of two entrees and a choice of desserts. The entrees range from down home southern cooking to Regional Gourmet. If it is not your Delight there's another menu that offers " anytime leisure meal" i.e. cheeseburger, chef salad. The amenities are the latest and next to none. The fitness rooms the library the theaters and the game rooms include the latest technology and variety of card games, chess, pool tables and ping pong tables. All rooms are adequately equipped with the latest equipment for example the fitness room has the latest treadmills with all the bells and whistles and also the exercise cycles and muscle strengthening equipment. There's always a choice of various games and plenty of activities and crafts including many puzzles to choose from. There are bible study groups that are also available led by experienced volunteer Bible facilitator/teachers and Sunday morning non-denominational church service. There are also special interest groups that one might want to join. Additionally, outside entertainment is brought in on a weekly basis, as well as health groups. The facility is well maintained and clean with operable equipment both in the Resident Apartments as well as the facilities as a whole. The floors, the walls, carpet and elevators including all corridors are kept well maintained. The dining room and activity rooms are all clean and spotless as the facility on a whole, with adequate seating for eating in the dining room and adequate lounge chairs in sitting areas. The grounds give you an atmosphere of Resort style of living with manicured Lawns, swimming pools, Cabanas with outdoor fireplaces and barbecues. In addition, the facility is strategically located in Lewisville nestled between Carrollton and the Colony Texas. The facility with all it has to offer as a senior independent living facility would not be complete without a professional staff. Discovery Village Lewisville has an incomparable professional staff: the administration, maintenance and housekeeping, chefs and servers, sales and activities personnel all have the professional demeanor always " what can I do to help" with a smile that broadcast sincerity and care. Needless to say, I am happy and content to live in a facility like Discovery Village Lewisville, surrounded with happy and cheerful people.

I have lived here two years and I thoroughly love the complex. Everyone is extremely friendly including staff and all employees. I enjoy the dining room and always can find something delicious on the menu provided to us. We have all sorts of events and things to do here--card games, board games, crafts, discussions, special speakers, reiigious events! Its a wonderful community!

Can't say enough about our experience so far with Discovery Village at Castle Hills. We looked at 5 locations for independent living for my Dad. Nothing compares to the total package you have here. Upgraded apartment homes, fresh appliances, great value for the price with incredible room inside each unit. No corners cut, with fresh community areas, impeccable staff that shows longevity. When the staff is stable the residents benefit and it clearly shows. We live out of state and Dad was completing surgery but Lauren went the extra mile for us in every way. The one stop shop approach with housing, meals, entertainment activities, ON SITE physical and occupational therapy department, weekly on site doctor access, transportation and site ambassadors facilitate meeting new friends are an exceptional value to the residents. Brooke worked with our limited schedule to make the process so easy to navigate the process and Juan, Facility Maintenance Manager, shows amazing skill and pride in every detail he and his staff provide. Overall, a great experience and peace of mind in our family's decision.

My mom lived at Discovery Village for several years and we could not have been happier. The care and concern shown by all of the staff always impressed us. From the time you enter and are greeted at the front desk you will feel welcome and safe. It is a lively place, full of people interacting with conversation and laughter. It is also bright, elegantly decorated and extremely clean. The business office is professionally managed by outstanding, trustworthy people. And the food is incredible! It was a hard decision to make. I lived in Castle Hills about two miles from what I called “The Castle.” I always knew that if the day would come and I would need a senior living home that Discovery looked so charming. Well…the day came and my family and I started to check around. Discovery was soon to be found the right fit. I would still be close to my family and friends and soon meet many more people and found peace with my decision! I was amazed by all the opportunities that I would have and now do have! People who cared and understood….

Absolutely love this place! Took my mother-in-law there and could not get over how nice everyone on staff were. I loved the fact that so many of the staff have been there for many years. The facilities were like being in a 5-Star Hotel. We love the "all-inclusive" pricing that included all bills and meals. It makes it easy to just enjoy life. The food was wonderful...and we loved the restaurant approach. I would recommend Discovery Village at Castle Hills to anyone looking to make life a little easier, and meet new friends in a beautiful facility. Gigi

My mom has been a resident here for a year. I toured a dozen places over a six month window, and am so happy we ended up choosing Discovery Village. Bob himself (the Executive Director), the concierge staff, events staff, fitness staff, chef and his team are all super friendly, all know my mom by name, and are just good people. The residents kind of mirror the personality, and they felt more welcoming when we were doing the tour, and not pretentious. The shared areas are well maintained, the exercise classes are great, and my mom love the entertainers that come in weekly. My mom had lived in a house for the prior 45 years and I gave it 50/50 odds she would like it, but she loves it and wants to get back to her complex as soon as she can when we have her for a day or a weekend. Feel very fortunate I kept looking until I found a place that just felt right.

My wife Venita and I call this our home and we love our apartment and the residents and the staff is always happy to help you out if needed. Our management dose a excellent job meeting all of our needs. The food is well prepared and well worth the money and excellently served by out excellent Staff. We have lived here 6 years and looking forward to many more. Mr. Bob is the finest manger you will find any where in the Metro Plex. He goes the extra mile and will never let you down. He is truly a mans man. Our activity Director will keep you busy as you want to be. The facility meets all state safety and fire prevention meets all state Standards. The House keeping meets all of the needs you might have. All in All you will not find any other that can match what we have .

I work in the salon at discovery village and Im hear to say this is one of best senior living centers I have seen its very clean and accommodating the people that live here are extremely happy and cheerful all the time. Bob and Brooke and the rest of the staff do an amazing job keeping everyone safe and healthy they havent had one case of covid here thats truly saying something about the leadership here. Its great feeling to be able to beautify these sweet people.

I absolutely recommend moving here. We have lived here for 2 years and hope to never move. The management is superior. If I am told they will do something, it will be done. Every one in dining room and kitchen work so hard to please us. My housekeeper is awesome. We lived in another property for six years and it did not compare to the comfort we have here. We are so proud of our management and staff for working so hard to keep us all well. We are still Covid free. Everything might not be to a persons liking All the time, but if you look back it was not perfect at home either. Residents are very friendly and helpful for newcomers. No reason to feel lonely here. All in all I recommend If you want to live in a well run, clean , cozy property this is it.

Bob is outside early every morning straightening the sign, arranging flowers, picking up trash, and making sure everything is perfect. He always looks professional and is a wonderful change from the past EDs. He is always making sure things are followed up on and completed. Margaret is a ball of fire she is always running and attending to the residents and all her activities. She is very efficient and tireless. Ericka, Jason, and Amber are always pleasant and fun in the bar. The food is always delicious. I do miss the grand entrance we had before. Ive heard from Honest 1 that they sponsor other happy hours and we are much more fun and friendly. I like hearing that the place I live is thought of as fun and friendly. Ive been here before the building was Discovery Village at Castle Hills and I hope I can continue to afford it and that Discovery Village at Castle Hills will always be home.

I love this place. My Uncle John (MacLean) has recently moved into Discovery Village earlier this year and has found everything we were hoping for. I have personally joined John for a number of visits, lunches, and walks about the premises. The facilities are spotlessly clean, beautiful, comprehensive, and well appointed. The staff is amazing, attentive, friendly, and professional. John is greeted by name by virtually all the staff, wherever we go. He has also made many acquaintances with the other residents. Johns general disposition and health are improved, most likely due to the positive energy in Discovery Village. And most of all, I feel like he is safe and happy here. Thanks again. Darrell Murray

Ive worked 40+ hours a week here for over a year and a half and absolutely love this place!! The residents and coworkers make it an amazing place to work. My coworkers and I all work together as a seemless team and make sure we do everything we can to ensure the residents wants and needs are met daily. The pay is good and they offer benefits for full time employees. My coworkers have become my family and I look forward to going into work everyday. The managers are amazing and extremely undertanding and caring. I seriously can not stress how much I love working here and Im so thankful I found this place. I would recommend anyone to come join our team. We are all very welcoming and would love to add new members to our family.

I highly recommend Discovery Village at Castle Hills! The staff is amazing! The food is delicious. The residents are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nice sized apartments and several floor plans to choose from. Clean, well taken care of and nice decor. If you are looking for a neighborhood feel and a sense of belonging, this is the place for you.
