When I originally wrote this review, I was genuinely grateful that we had found Orchard Park. After visiting several assisted living communities, it stood out because of its warm atmosphere, attentive staff, and the excellent care my mom received. The staff was responsive to her needs, managed her medications well, and kept her room spotless. Knowing she was safe and content gave our family tremendous peace of mind. Unfortunately, since the change in ownership and management, our experience has changed significantly. Communication with families has become inconsistent, there has been considerable staff turnover, and the positive culture that once made Orchard Park special seems to have been lost. Many of the longtime staff members who remain appear unhappy with the new management, and that change has affected the overall environment. It is disappointing to see a community that once provided such exceptional care struggle with these issues. I sincerely hope the new ownership will listen to residents, families, and staff and work to restore the caring, supportive environment that originally earned my recommendation.

This is an email I sent to the director Chris Jones. I am sending long delayed thanks and appreciation for Orchard Park's staff and care for my dad Paul Mugnier. Dad was not with y'all for very long but while he was there the staff was all incredibly wonderful. This includes EVERYONE: Nancy and Kat at reception, Robert in maintenance and his staff, all the caregivers, Kenneth in the business office, Jennifer the hairdresser, the housekeepers, Stephanie and sales, and all the memory care staff including Sasha (a true sweetie). Even after Dad was moved to the hospital, every time I came to retrieve bits from his apartment, every staff member I saw would ask after Dad and send their love to him. I want to give particular mention to Jazmin Mobley. From the first time I met her when she came to see my dad for the initial evaluation, through the last day when I was clearing out his apartment, I cannot give enough praise to Jazmin. I had a very poor experience with a rehab facility nursing staff, which made me realize that a health/wellness/nursing director can set the entire tone for a facility and reinforced my appreciation for Jazmin. Jazmin is kind, caring, professional, supportive, smart as heck, no nonsense, efficient, direct, helpful, honest, thorough ” I could go on and on. Her patience with me and her responsiveness to my continual questions at any time of the day or night was truly amazing. She was my "go to" for everything. Simply put, she is the best, and the quality of the memory unit staff and care reflects her attentive management and caring heart. Thank you again. I love and appreciate Orchard Park, and will recommend it highly to anyone searching for a quality memory care facility. If Dad had not needed a much higher level of care, we would still be there. I miss everyone and am so grateful to have found you.

My mom has been at a couple memory cares but this one is where I feel she is at her best. Karina the med tech in memory care has been extra exceptional! My mom is very picky with who she adores at this stage and she tells me she loves Karina. Also, the communication from her has been the best she lets me know all concerns with mom right away. She is kind, compassionate and empathetic with her patients and genuinely think she treats them as she would her own grandma. Overall, the care and staff have been great as well. I am happy with the care. She is always well groomed and clean when I pick her up from there.

I observe and acknowledge the below Reviews, yet in late 2024-April, 2025, my family had very mixed rates and observation due to much change and exchanging within management and care providers coming and going. there were "VERY SERIOUS," and to the point possible neglect, with different staff members, towards both the residence and between the staffing. Because of our family member being in the latter stages of her life, we simply just didn't have the time nor efforts remaining to allow for what was being stated as being worked on major problems and concerns. I did have many, many conversations and texts and many videos shared with from the highest levels of management, and supervisors, with always the same replies, "We know we have big problems, and we are working hard on them." Needless to state, after three very strong probable continuous months of trying to maintain understanding and hopes of better provided care needs and needing for our family loved one, as a family we decided we must take different action at once to get our loved one out of the damagers being performed by the staff and with the continued allowances of what seemed to be multiple issues, e.i. alot of same family members who had already formed a bond of their own, buddy system reactions between different groupings of staffing, and staff against new management and even corporate policies, workers and provided interventions from corporate management. There was reported assaults between staff members, as well as, no where close to proper and right care providers who were trained and observed to be caring and patient with the memory care residence and their families. a battle as to who will be the over comers between bad staff and poor management being allowed to continue onward, for different reasons and reasonings, very possible to be individuals who either were related or long term buddies. With these factors taking place, there just wasn't enough good care let alone great care being provided to and for the very reason and reasonings why we would allow any more time to pass for our loved one, before removing her to a better place and care providing facility. In which we were able to locate and now I am so pleased and happy that we made this decision for our family and our beloved one. Our prayers and hopes are that with this facility being one of the no insurance accepted places and placements for long term care and assistance living and within the memory care divided department, that for all purposes, better all around changes happen for the bettering for those who have entrusted their beloved ones within the care of such a mixed up and hurtful and harmful lasting end of life experience that shall remain forever with those who have entrusted such an important care to be taking place. Please do note: There were a few greater care-providers and the enrollment manager, and other different department managers were also good at what they done. P.S. In my acknowledged opinion alone and only, it was like so much of what we now experience within many different areas of life; "Because of how wrong and corrupted things have become, those who truly desire to do good and achieve at great heights and above average good and properly, are held back and even dismissed because of the greater amount of allowed continuation of problems due to buddy systems and family & friends allowed influences and influencers.

Orchard Park at Victory is a quiet, quaint facility. We moved my grandmother-in-law this week and she is already making friends Her room has a view of the water with birds right outside her window. Her room is very spacious so she can have family and friends over. We also like that UTMB hospital is nearby along with several restaurants and stores if we need to pick up anything. The reception area had coffee and fresh fruit. Orchard Park is very clean and kept. It has a welcoming feel when you walk in.

A facility is only as good as the people caring for your loved ones. Orchard Park has had new management for the past six months, and I understand that change takes time. As such, I’m not evaluating the facility as a whole at this moment, but I would like to take a moment to highlight Karina. Karina has been providing care for my mother-in-law in a way that we hope all caregivers would. She is patient and kind, which is especially important when caring for someone with dementia. Providing personal care, like showering, can be particularly challenging for individuals with memory issues, and in the past, my mother-in-law often fell through the cracks. There were many times when we had to step in just to ensure that basic care, like showers, was provided. However, since Karina began working with her, this has no longer been a concern. Karina showers and dresses her with care, and when Karina is on duty, we can feel at ease knowing our mother-in-law is in good hands, even when we are out of town caring for other elderly family members. Karina also makes a point of keeping us informed about anything important regarding my mother-in-law’s well-being. There have been two other caregivers in the past who demonstrated a similar level of care, but unfortunately, they are no longer at Orchard Park. I sincerely hope that everything possible is done to ensure Karina remains with the team. High turnover is especially tough for dementia patients, who rely on the stability of familiar faces. Karina is undoubtedly an asset to Orchard Park. I recognize that the work these caregivers do is incredibly challenging, and I deeply appreciate the efforts of those who go above and beyond. I’m also looking forward to getting to know the newest staff members. Karina is 5 Stars!

STEVE YOCUM The process for my mother from Apt-Hospital-to Orchard Park was an over 4 month event. The experience was mind blowing, and through it all, Stephanie Stitt was there with answers, and support. Stephanie has helped , the family, me, and with helping my mother adjust to the idea of Assisted & Senior Living and starting a new chapter to her life. Stephanie's professionalism and her humor help get past some bumps in the process. I can not say enough about her help. There are nice people and there are REALLY nice people who take the time and understand the things other feel/need. Stephanie Still is a true asset to the Orchard Park staff and Asttisted & Senior Living community. All of the staff are all very nice, and always helpful to my mother when needed, and to me as I moved everything in. Chef Tylor's meals are approved by my mother, and says a lot to me. He is often out and talks to the residents, and seems to take extra pride in the quality and taste of the food/meals. Mom's eating has not been an issue from day one of her move in. Reception staff, always helpful and have answered more than just a casual request. They are friendly and fun to greet when I visit. Monique and the medical side of the stay have been responsive and take time to explain what this side of the care will be and future will be if/when needed. The care giver aids are all friendly and ready to help. They do even more than asked at times and keep things moving along. We have had a couple "real needs" by them, nothing emergency, but extra need of assistance for mom. The cleaning staff/laundry is done well. "Kenny" has communicated and explained the financial-invoice to get us settled in with all that is needed. A friendly understanding man who get the stress all of this can add to a family's situation, and handled with friendly and professional action. Overall, it was an adjustment and new situation for my mother and the family, it all has worked out well and she is happy, so we are ALL happy.

We have found the Memory Care staff and Ashley Bedford, the director, to be extremely helpful as we have transitioned my father-in-law into memory care. A sudden placement is hard to navigate when you have not experienced taking care of a loved one with dementia. Orchard Park has provided training with an expert for families dealing with a family member with dementia. They have found ways to involve my father-in-law with different activities that are interesting to him giving him a sense of value. We want to mention Robert who is in charge of maintenance for the center. He has included my father-in-law in projects that have made him feel more a part of the community. The facility is well maintained with constant improvements.

While being at Orchard Park for just 6 months, my Mother fell, was Life Flighted to UTMB Galveston, and died 3 days later; I blame Orchard Park for not preventing it! Orchard knew my Mother was a fall risk, and they left her unattended. When they found my Mother, laying on the floor in an activity room, they said she was "laying in a pool of blood" and "unresponsive". On my visits to see Mom, I would often note the "caretakers" sitting in groups visiting with one another. Orchard employees are not supervised, and as a result, are often not attending to the residents' needs. PLEASE DO NOT RISK YOUR LOVE ONE'S LIFE.

I have done a monthly musical performance at Orchard Park for awhile now, and they are the best! The staff is awesome, and the residents are so glad to see me, and I always feel welcome! Great bunch of folks and very careful about social distancing and keeping everyone safe. Thank you Kristi Baltunis, you are great~

My husband and I moved his mother to Orchard Park at Victory Lakes in August. This was a difficult move, and we were not sure whether the Assisted Living or Memory Care area would be a better fit. The staff have helped us make difficult decisions and transitions, and have been gracious, helpful and kind every step of the way. Cameron, the director, has been available to us without fail and has helped us get everything set up and comfortable for my mother-in-law. We have interacted with several of the staff members--and have nothing but positive things to say. Teresa has even given us her personal cell number and instructed us to call anytime we need help with anything. This has given us the peace of mind that we so desperately needed during this difficult transition. The facility is bright, clean and cheerful and has plenty of space for walking and getting activity as needed. One added bonus is that our personal physician from UTMB is able to give care to my mother-in-law at Orchard Park. We definitely recommend Orchard Park.

Although our stay was brief, I have to say that everyone there at Orchard Park did an outstanding job! My Joey was fighting a battle much tougher than had been expected but I will say that the staff there did everything they could to make sure that the time that he had left was the best that it could be. Jill, Yoko and Beverly were so very attentive that they made me feel like they were family helping us to cope with everything. I would definitely recommend Orchard Park at Victory Lakes as a great place to have senior family member stay when assistance is needed.

Our mother has lived at Orchard Park Victory Lakes for 2 years. The facility is clean and comfortable. My mother always has a smile on her face. When she first moved in, she was constantly on the go with activities! As her needs changed, she continued to participate in music activities, holiday parties and church services. She visits the on- site beauty parlor weekly. I visit my mother three to five times weekly and the staff is always friendly and caring. No matter where you go, it's important for the family to stay involved and participate in the care of their loved one. I recommend Orchard Park!

My mother lives in Memory Care and she loves it! I have gone from her completely depending on me to help her to decide what she wants to eat to that she is now able to make day to day decisions. She actually told me yesterday that she was glad I came to visit, but she has plans with her friend. She is late moderate stage Alzheimer's!

Care staff is compassionae. Management is dishonest. They have admitted that, for the nine months we have been here, they have not provided the care they contracted for and is expected by law. They tout their Montessori program for alzheimer's residents, but it is mostly watching TV. When management is challenged about the failure to provide services, they offer to pay for your move. Haven't offered enough yet. Manageament is well trained to turn your complaint into something that is your fault. If you complain about the food it is because you have a refined palate. It is sad because it could be a nice place, but it seems to be all about the money. The nicer places are more difficult to get in, but you can get in here quickly.
