Sadly, my mother needed additional care, so she had to leave Orchard Park after two years. Would I move her there again? You bet! In a heartbeat! Thank you Tyler, Monique, and staff for making her stay there a home. I truly appreciate all of you!!!

We ended up not needing to move my mom to Orchard Park after all, but I'll have to say that the professionalism and courtesy of the staff with whom we interacted throughout the process was superb.

Nice place, but poorly run. Service does not meet expectations; lots of promises, but no follow-through….. Food is mediocre at best. Have Comcast cable TV, but no way to get HD reception……seriously?!?

While being at Orchard Park for just 6 months, my Mother fell, was Life Flighted to UTMB Galveston, and died 3 days later; I blame Orchard Park for not preventing it! Orchard knew my Mother was a fall risk, and they left her unattended. When they found my Mother, laying on the floor in an activity room, they said she was "laying in a pool of blood" and "unresponsive". On my visits to see Mom, I would often note the "caretakers" sitting in groups visiting with one another. Orchard employees are not supervised, and as a result, are often not attending to the residents' needs. PLEASE DO NOT RISK YOUR LOVE ONE'S LIFE.

It has been an honor to work at Orchard Parks at Victory Lakes Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility. The time that I have worked here it has been nothing but wonderful!! I have enjoyed every moment at Orchard Parks starting as a Care-Partner working my way up to Concierge. Every day was different and exciting, never a dull moment! I will truly miss everyone there. Thank you everyone for all the memories. I will cherish them all.

Where do I begin my praise!? I helped my Grandmother move to Orchard Park about a year ago. Since she moved there shes like a new person! She tells me all the time how much she loves it there, and how well they take care of her. They truly go above and beyond every day for my grandma. Couldnt be happier!

Although my Mom was at Orchard Park at Victory Lakes for only a short period, we were very pleased with the care! It was definitely the best place for Mom to take care of all of her memory care needs! The staff was outstanding! I wish Mom was still with us living a happy life at Orchard Park!

I have done a monthly musical performance at Orchard Park for awhile now, and they are the best! The staff is awesome, and the residents are so glad to see me, and I always feel welcome! The move-in process is hard on everyone, but everyone at Victory Lake has made it pretty darn easy for mom and for the family. The staff is super helpful and moms room is fantastic. Two thumbs up!

My husband and I moved his mother to Orchard Park at Victory Lakes in August. This was a difficult move, and we were not sure whether the Assisted Living or Memory Care area would be a better fit. The staff have helped us make difficult decisions and transitions, and have been gracious, helpful and kind every step of the way. Cameron, the director, has been available to us without fail and has helped us get everything set up and comfortable for my mother-in-law. We have interacted with several of the staff members--and have nothing but positive things to say. Teresa has even given us her personal cell number and instructed us to call anytime we need help with anything. This has given us the peace of mind that we so desperately needed during this difficult transition. The facility is bright, clean and cheerful and has plenty of space for walking and getting activity as needed. One added bonus is that our personal physician from UTMB is able to give care to my mother-in-law at Orchard Park. We definitely recommend Orchard Park.

Although our stay was brief, I have to say that everyone there at Orchard Park did an outstanding job! My Joey was fighting a battle much tougher than had been expected but I will say that the staff there did everything they could to make sure that the time that he had left was the best that it could be. Jill, Yoko and Beverly were so very attentive that they made me feel like they were family helping us to cope with everything. I would definitely recommend Orchard Park at Victory Lakes as a great place to have senior family member stay when assistance is needed.

To be upfront about my review, I am a private contractor who works at the facility. In total I service, or have serviced about 2 dozen similar facilities. Orchard Park is hands down the cleanest, and has the most caring staff of any that Ive seen. Care givers are patient and kind to residents regardless of the situation. Every employee from the top management to the janitorial staff are mindful and caring and know all the residents names. The kitchen is kept clean, and great care is given to even the smallest details in food preparation. All one would have to do is walk thru the halls of Orchard Park to see how happy the residents are. They must be doing something right!

I have read other reviews for Orchard Park and feel some of them are very unfair. Every place has problems and they are not always the fault of the staff or administrators. I give them 5 starts because whenever I complain about anything, they are always willing to go to any length to make a situation better. There is such a thing as constructive criticism (which they take very well) and just bashing hard working people. Some residents do not WANT to come out of their rooms and they cannot be forced. We need to be there for our elderly relatives to be a bridge whenever there is a problem or misunderstanding. Don't wait until you are angry or (FIRED?) to bring a problem to the staff. My Mom has been there for 9 months and she is well taken care of. If there is any kind of problem, we address it right away and work it out together. There are no perfect places and we would all keep our relatives at home with us if possible. But since it isn't we really appreciate Orchard Park Assisted Living in Victory Lakes.

Our mother has lived at Orchard Park Victory Lakes for 2 years. The facility is clean and comfortable. My mother always has a smile on her face. When she first moved in, she was constantly on the go with activities! As her needs changed, she continued to participate in music activities, holiday parties and church services. She visits the on- site beauty parlor weekly. I visit my mother three to five times weekly and the staff is always friendly and caring. No matter where you go, it's important for the family to stay involved and participate in the care of their loved one. I recommend Orchard Park!

My mother lives in Memory Care and she loves it! I have gone from her completely depending on me to help her to decide what she wants to eat to that she is now able to make day to day decisions. She actually told me yesterday that she was glad I came to visit, but she has plans with her friend. She is late moderate stage Alzheimer's!

It is a very difficult decision to place your loved one in memory care and not every resident will take to managed care well. It takes time for them to adjust but after they have and you see the facility creating a community where they have people who care and treat them with respect and gentle care you know you have made the right decision. I am so happy we chose Orchard Park after visiting 11 different facilities. The staff and administration is always there to help guide you through any difficult times. Sometimes 5 Stars is not enough.

I love the smiles and happy ? faces I get eveytime I walk into Memory Care in the morning for work. My residents are always there to greet me with a hug and smile. We have a friendly and caring staff that love ? taking care of our residents everyday. Our activity programs are fun and exciting daily and keep our residents busy and happy. Kudos to the wait staff. They really give their all. Lots of energy, pleasant, very caring, and empathetic. I moved in May and having lived in various other retirement communities, I find Orchard Park a delightful place to live. The Activity program is engaging and the director is very enthusiastic. It's a tough decision to give a place 5 stars. There are always those little glitches that need fine tuning or correction. But having thought about it, one can only expect that, if a problem occurs, it is handled professionally and quickly. And with that in mind, I am happy to give Orchard Park five stars. My mother's quality of life there is very good. We are coming up on a one year anniversary of residence there. And because her quality of life is good, there is less stress on me as her son. The staff is attentive and supportive. And friendly. The activities director is spectacular. At its best, any assisted living community is not fun. At its best, it can aspire to come as close to a cruise ship experience as possible. That is what one hopes for. My mother's room is very nice. We opted for a two bedroom in order to assure that she would have a comfortable space for her sofa, clothes, furniture, etc. Mom was not a collector. So we didn't have to deal with a lot of stuff to move. But still, it is nicer to have a larger square footage, resulting in the second room becoming her TV and visitor's room. The refrigerator is a full size. The cabinets are ample for most anyone's storage needs. Each room also has a microwave. If there is any negative, it would be that there are times when I come into her room and there is an odor of raw sewage. I think it is probably in the pipes that run under all of the rooms, such that gases are emanating from the shower drains. We have addressed it by pouring chlorine bleach down the drain. And it seems to go away when we run the air conditioner and its fan. The food. The food is perfectly fine. It is so hard to please a large group. One person will say the food is too spicy. Another will say it is too bland. Or too hard to cut. Etc. etc. etc. In my opinion, they are doing a very fine job of compromise in the food department. And should one not be interested in the meal of the day, one can specify a hamburger, salad or sandwich. My mother says the biscuits for breakfast are especially good. I especially like that it is a one story complex. No elevators. No stairs. That is a good thing. Security is good. The front doors are locked in the evening and a security code or guard contact is required. There was one issue of something missing. But it was immediately addressed and resolved at the highest level. So my compliments and respect go to the management team for tackling this so efficiently. The library area is very nice. There are lots of activities throughout the week. And even some excursions planned on a regular basis. An evening cruise. A trip to Walmart. A trip to Kroger. Stuff like that. The wi-fi for visitors is excellent. I never have a problem getting a good connection on my iPad. There are computers for the use of the residents though I have yet to see anyone using them. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. And if you are considering a move here, please feel free to contact me.
