Reviews Parkway Place
October 2024
Did my clinicals here as a CNA student and worked here for a few days after getting my license.Very wonderful environment to work in with friendly and helpful staff. The only reason why I left is because they have 12 hour shifts only and that didn't work well for me because I have young kids at home.If they had to have 8 hour shifts I would gladly go back there

A good friend of mine has been in the Skilled Nursing wing for a week. We are very pleased with the facility and the care, compassion, and professionalism exhibited by their staff. The facility is filled with natural light, well decorated, and thoroughly clean and odor-free. Our patient gives his meals two thumbs up. Every member of the staff that we have encountered has been superb. We were considering an alternate facility for when he transfers to assisted living, but Parkway Place has moved to the top of the list.

The staff here is top notch! They are truly concerned about their residence. It is a BLESSING to be part of such a wonderful place.

After researching various facilities, my daughter and I chose this one for my mom's rehab care based off of reviews, recommendations from friends in the business, discussions with people who have family in this facility and what we observed when going to visit. If I could give more than five stars I would! This place is fantastic! After less than one week of my mom being completely immobile due to a broken leg, they have her up and eating in the dining room and playing bingo with other residents! So grateful for Parkway Place! I see my mom making a full recovery and coming home very soon! Thank you again so much, especially to Elianny for walking us through everything to get her admitted and the front desk lady at the entrance who is always a huge help! My mom has also told me that the food is delicious and there is always a separate "every day" menu if you don't like what is being served.

The caring staff at Parkway Place treated my Dad like family for over 6 years! High praise for all of the compassionate work done at this facility - we were blessed!

There was the good and the bad.....the aides would leave me on the toilet while leaving to tend to someone else. This occurred more in the beginning of my stay. They moved me closer to the nurses station which helped quite a bit. Many of the aides had attitudes and were sullen. But these lovely ladies were my shining stars: Jazmine, Fola, and Judith. I apologize for not mentioning other names, but I just can't remember everyone. Stephen, the "med guy", and the entire Therapy staff were stand-outs and were so helpful in getting me up and around. One last additional note......the food was delicious.

I recently moved to Parkway Place from another senior living community. I am in awe of the Wellness Programs here. The highly qualified instructor teaches many varied classes or individual instruction five days a week. The Parkway Wellness Classes and opportunities have been one of the many experiences that deliver much more than one would expect. We learn not only how to identify and correct our imbalances, but strengthen and correct them for a for a more active lifestyle. This is a great supportive environment committed to the well-being and happiness of seniors. ~Joy A.

Mother lived here just three weeks before she took a bad fall and I had to ask for a welfare check. John and Michelle were amazingly fast to check on her and call 911. A week later she needed skilled nursing. Nikki was kind and efficient at getting her registered and checked in with her insurance. I cannot say enough kind things about Parkway Place. Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking such good care of my mother.

I can't say enough about BPP! My mom had a horrible experience at a facility and ultimately we were in a real bind with her coming from behavioral hospital and trying to find a place for her. The minute we visited BPP we knew we had found the perfect spot for mom. The level of compassion, caring and love is like no other. The minute we met Anthony, activities director Olivia and Andrea we were in awe of how they listened to our concerns and challenges with mom. Within the first day we felt so much gratitude for what the entire staff did for not only mom but for our family. She is thriving & happy! Our hearts are at peace knowing that she is in the perfect place. Truly like nothing I've ever seen... everyone cares and takes the time to make a very difficult situation positive. If your looking for place for a loved one... this is the place for sure. Our family is totally at peace knowing she's in great hands.

The best senior facility around! Staff and management truly care about the residents here and are wonderful. They have extreme compassion and understanding towards resident and family during a difficult time of transitioning to a new place. We truly believe this is the best place for our mom and highly recommend it. She is very happy and participates in all the activities they have. I have not seen so much kindness from everyone in one place. If I could give more stars then 5 it would definitely be 10.

I would like to share my my wife recent experience at Parkway Place ,she can stop talking about what a wonderful place this is ,has nothing but good things to say about the community and all that it offers which includes great food ,in house therapy caring staff and management team.
January 2022
They were very supportive and caring. People were very nice and took care of me 24 hrs a day. Don't think twice if U need this kind of facility.

If you are looking for yourself or a family member a new place to call home Please be sure to include Parkway Place on your list of places to visit , if its your first stop you probably won't need to visit any others as you will find it's one of the best (if not the best)places in Houston to live. management takes the time to find the right staff so they make you feel right at home and the residents are more like family than neighbors. With all the different communities under one roof add in you don't have to cook ,clean or do any maintenance not to mention all the other amenities ( well and fitness programs. beauty salon ,home health care, transportation so many planned activities and an on site Chaplin ) why would you want to look any further as it truly has it all. But don't take my review for it stop by or make an appointment to take a tour... see for yourself

This place was amazing in helping my mom recover after she fell and suffered a fracture. The staff was very caring and encouraging. Mr. Ellis Bardin was very helpful in answering all of my questions as my mom transitioned into home care. All I can really say is Thank you all and God Bless!

I moved my aunt into IL at PWP almost 2 years ago. She spent a year1/2 there until we moved her to assistive living. This experience is never easy but PWP has listened to her needs, made adjustments where needed, provided loads of activities, has friendly and caring staff members, beautiful decor and excellent food choices. Andrea & Kara in AL have worked hard to make the adjustment easier on her and I am grateful.

For just over a year, my Uncle lived in Parkway Place independent living. He also had extra care not only from our paid caregivers but also all of the staff at Parkway Place were incredibly responsive and proactive to ensure that my Uncle was welcome & comfortable. They kept me informed as to how he was doing throughout the year. There were even weekly zoom calls checking on status, events, etc. The staff were so helpful that I wanted to let others know that our beloved uncle was really taken care of including drivers, aids, HHR (Alisa), nurses, social worker (Ellis), Chaplain (John), the staff directors (Katherine, etc) and on up to the general director. We finished off with Buena Vida Hospice which was so helpful too. Thank you ParkwayPlace staff. You really care. Jack

So let me first start off by saying I enjoy PWP and my mother has been living in their Independent living area for some time now. With that being said, I am only here to complain about how they're handling the covid situation at this time, specifically with their check in protocol. Their check in protocol consists of a questionnaire that is about 15 questions (Not too long ago, it was way longer and excessive). After you fill in the questions, you now have to go to the front desk and sign a paper of covid acknowledgment that literally states what was on the iPad. What a waste of time & a paper. But wait... there's more. PWP has now added a "code word of the day" to I guess approve us to go thru the building. which is pointless to me because the questionnaire also makes you put in the name of the person at the front desk who is approving you... God forbid you get stuck behind someone who takes a minute to read each question then you'll be stuck there for a good 10+ minutes. it is just very excessive and almost micromanaging their guests at this point. PWP is constantly making changes to their check in process and Idk if this is being done by the head offices at corporate or by management here at PWP. Either way, I am sure they are trying to be as safe as possible & think these constant changes are a good thing but it is really more of an inconvenience & honestly quite counterintuitive & confusing when there's a new change every other time you come in. the iPads are constantly moving around the lobby so when I come in I look lost trying to search for it & the screening questions are constantly changing. Not only that, but the iPads used to be spaced out where they were 6 ft apart. Now they have been moved around to where they are right beside each other which, again... is kinda backwards for all this hassle they're causing to be safe. Also, if an inspector comes in & sees the iPads right beside each other they could be fined & penalized for not keeping 6ft of distance. BUT WAIT... there's more. You have to fill in the screening every single time you come in which I think is absolutely ridiculous. So if you visit today you have to do the screening & if you come back tomorrow you have to do the exact same screening. Like I said, EXCESSIVE. My answers to the questions are not going to change within a 24hr time period. In fact, they have pretty much never changed since they started the screening. My suggestion is if I can show you my vaccination card, I should be able to walk thru. What's the point of pushing a vaccine then still forcing a ridiculous check in protocol even AFTER I receive my vaccine?? What's the point of FINALLY making the questionnaire shorter just to add another random question, more forms to sign, more time to waste??Cmon PWP. This is a huge inconvenience for people like me who visit almost everyday. I would understand if people who barely came or had never come at all were required to do it but even then...PLEASE let people start showing their vaccination cards instead of all this excessive micromanaging of guests. In fact, A couple of weeks ago I had to rush in because my mother was ill & an older woman at the front desk (I won't state her name) pretty much forced me to still sign in even after I told her what was going on and that I was just there the previous day & all my answers were the same. I gripe to the poor receptionist every time and I know it's not their fault but cmon PWP. When covid had just started before the vaccines were in place, I completely understood the check in process. However, we are now April of 2021 and most people have their vaccines. I am not trying to nit pick but the check in process could definitely be improved and less of a waste of time. I hope PWP management actually reads their reviews and seriously considers making changes. I'm sure I'm not the only guest who feels this way!!!

amazing service, amazing place. i spend most of my days off school volunteering here and the serene environment and amiable attitudes from staff are what keeps me coming back. before the pandemic, id always look forward to my breaks and anticipate my visits back to buckner but i havent been able to return since the intrusion of covid. my review may seem biased as a volunteer but know that i genuinely mean it when i say this establishment is not only beautifully structured and well kept, but the overall tone during the workday is so calm and jovial. the hospitality of the staff is exceptional and even admirable. the residents look elated! the relationship between the staff and residents is one that is both loving and respectful while staying professional. its obvious that each worker adores what they do and is even passionate about it. ive yet to have a bad experience while volunteering here and i doubt there will be any negative encounters in the future.

After the remodeling the building just sparkles. The staff is warm and welcoming. Everyone has a smile and says hello. The people that live there seem really happy. The pandemic has affected so many, but there is still joy in this place. They have done well keeping as much normal as possible but still having necessary strict rules to protect all who enter. They screen everyone who comes in and check their temperatures. Very impressive steps taken during this pandemic.

Its a great place to work with them and Ive been here since 2015. The staff are one of the most wonderful people I met. You cant go wrong working with them as they welcome you with open arms as you would feel they are part of your family. The staff including myself would make our residents a comfortable place to be with utmost care. We are always here to make everyone shine. Give a buckner a try without any hesitation and youll see it for yourself!

Very impressed with the way both of my parents are welcome and treated with care while at Parkway Place. They could live in any senior community in town, and chose Parkway based on friends positive input and experiences. Staff and residents are real, are friendly and are out and about. As with anything, go visit and evaluate for yourself. I did, and could not be more secure in my decision.
