I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the staff at Home Sweet Home for the wonderful care they have provided for my mother, who has dementia. When my mother first came to Home Sweet Home, she was very scared and confused. The staff was patient and understanding, and they took the time to get to know her and her needs. They helped her to adjust to her new surroundings, and they made sure that she felt safe and comfortable. The staff at Home Sweet Home is incredibly caring and compassionate. They are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure that my mother is happy and well-cared for. They take the time to talk to her and listen to her stories, and they always make her feel special. I am so grateful for the love and support that the staff at Home Sweet Home has shown my mother. They have made a real difference in her life, and I know that she is in the best possible care. In addition to the excellent care that my mother receives, Home Sweet Home also celebrates holidays, birthdays and special occasions, which always makes my mother happy. I would highly recommend Home Sweet Home to anyone who is looking for a quality assisted living facility. The staff is amazing, the care is excellent, and the environment is warm and welcoming. I know that my mother is in the best possible place.

My Dad was at HSH for most of 2019 - until his passing - & I could not have been more pleased. We had already spent several years at two other highly rated but less-than-adequate facilities. Hospice recommended HSH (they see them all), so we moved him early in 2019. Rolando (the owner) was very flexible & made the move process simple. Cristina & her staff immediately welcomed Dad & provided the most loving, competent care I could have asked for. Not only was the facility clean & the care superb, the staff doted on Dad, kidded with him, & always maintained his dignity. Cristina is simply the best - she competently managed every aspect of Dad's care & kept me fully informed. I visited often, & always found him clean & well cared for. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend HSH to anyone looking for the best, most loving care for their family member. My only regret is that I didn't know about HSH much sooner!

We moved my mom into Home Sweet Home several years ago and they have done an incredible job. Memory care is often very difficult to manage, but Mom immediately felt comfortable and we did too. My mom has resided in memory care at Home Sweet Home since August 2014. Home Sweet Home is very clean, open, and airy. It gives you the feeling you're in a beautiful spacious private home. Her room along with the other private rooms are bright, and homey. It's got all the ingredients that will make the residents comfortable. I cannot complement the staff enough. Christina the facility manager is very compassionate, responsive, and caring. I trust her implicitly. I know how careful and selective she is with choosing the staff. I cannot imagine my mom being in better hands.

This place has been amazing for my mom !!! The value compared to other places, which are much higher, is off the charts . They take great care of my mother; much better than the place she was at before for a much better monthly rate !! They care and go above our expectations, which is quite different to her previous place which never once came close to meeting our expectations! I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for assisted living for a loved one !!!

Home Sweet Home is a wonderful place for senior loved ones. Mom moved there in April, 2019. The staff is very loving and caring. Cristina is a very attentive and loving caregiver. My mom could not have had better care! In mom's last days, Cristina was there for her and for me. My only regret is that I did not find them sooner!

My Mother moved to Houston from Ohio. I didn't know where to go for her placement. A friend recommended HSH. It was wonderful. Mother didn't know anyone but all were friendly, staff and live-in people. Very clean, good meals & the best care. My grandparents owned 5 nursing homes so I knew what expectations were necessary.

Not sure if I was speaking to owner/manager but seemed to be the case...first says he is month to month next sentence tells me at least three months to compensate for their efforts...couldn't get a straight answer and didn't sound like right place for my mom...haven't been in the place but if nothing else customer service and communication / clear policy needs improvement..l will continue the search..giving five star only because not fair to give ranking when I haven't been there ...and won't be there...

We found Home Sweet Home through A Place for Mom back in 2013 when my brother and I were looking for a place for our Father who was going into hospice. Cristina and her staff were compassionate, caring and loving people to our Dad for the six months he was with them. Fast forward to early February 2019 when we were told our Mother could not return to IDL and was entered into hospice. Our first thought was Home Sweet Home. Sadly, our Mother was only with them for seventeen days but in those last days of her life, Cristina and her staff took care of her as if she was one of their own. Home Sweet Home is an expected pocket of goodness in an otherwise nondescript Alief neighborhood off the Westpark Tollway and Dairy Ashford. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, I highly recommend Home Sweet Home. It is very clean, and the resident to staff ratio is great. Lastly, the food smells amazing and looks delicious.

She had only positive praise to say about the home - and I found it all to be true. When I first talked to them on the phone I was met with understanding and compassion. Then when I visited in person I was greeted by caring, helpful people who made me feel welcome and at home. They listened intently to the story of my situation with my Dad. He was living with assistance but needed more "hands on" care and around-the-clock attention as each day went by. They assured me that they understood life at that stage and could help Dad day and night to live comfortably and safely. The home was spotlessly clean; the rooms were a good size and well furnished; we could bring in some of his own items to make it personally his room; the food was freshly prepared daily in-house with plenty to eat and drink and snack on. So we moved Dad in and found even more good things come into his life. Everyone cared about him "as he was" at this point in his life. They showed him respect and gave him affectionate attention. They were patient and kind. They got to know him as an individual man -not just a resident. This gave him dignity thru a time in his life that he had always dreaded coming to. They also gave me loving attention which helped me thru this journey with Dad. We were both at peace with Home Sweet Home and its people as his final home while in this world.

After searching around Houston and Sugar Land for a suitable nursing/assisted-living facility, we signed up our elderly friend for whom I am the guardian at Home Sweet Home over a year ago. That was an excellent decision for him and for us. The place is clean, well-maintained, and most of all, odorless, unlike many similar facilities. The staff are friendly, compassionate and well-trained to address any resident situation. Rolly, the owner, is extremely accommodating and very reasonable. Christina, the facility manager, is very proactive and immediately informs me about any medical or dietary issue that may arise. We are exceedingly satisfied with our choice of Home Sweet Home.

When we learned that Dad had stage 4 cancer (and was previously diagnosed with advanced vascular dementia) we contacted Houston Hospice based on recommendations from friends. Houston Hospice gave us several places we could contact to care for Dad during his final months. Home Sweet Home in particular was highly recommended. After visiting several facilities we chose HSH based on the size of the facility (small), cleanliness and appearance and demeanor of staff. I visited Dad often and he was always well groomed and cared for. Despite his advanced conditions he was never in pain and usually joking with the staff and residents. HSH took much better care of Dad than the Skilled Nursing Facility he had previously been in.

The moment I visited HSH, I new I had found the place for her after visiting six other facilities. Christina, Rose, Cory, Rolando and the rest of the staff are always kind and caring. If we were out of town, we never worried about our mother. I would highly recommend HSH.

I highly recommend Home Sweet Home Assisted Living. My mom was unable to return to her independent living apartment after a hospital stay. She went to an assisted living facility that had a good reputation, but she was not happy there at all. We moved her from there to Home Sweet Home and she loved it! They cared for her with love and gentleness that she really appreciated. She had a private room that we could decorate how she wanted. Cristina and her team are very knowledgeable, kind and professional. Rolando and his staff provided a wonderful experience for our loved one for a much better price than other similar communities. My mother in law was there for about 4 years and had excellent care. Because we were so happy with the one on one personal care we took my mom there as well. She was there for 3 years. After several experiences with actual nursing homes there is no comparison to Home Sweet Home. You become part of an extended family not only with the staff but other patients. Love, patience, cleanliness, and most if all health is always the priority. We all have reservations for our future care at Home Sweet Home. The Stark's and Garza's.

There is no better assisted living facility in the state of Texas than Home Sweet Home. I had to move my Mom to 4 different places before my brother found this one. She was there for 4 years and we couldn't have been more satisfied with all aspects of her care. She loved it as well. A key aspect of Home Sweet Home's success is their ability to find the best Phillippine personnel available in the Houston area. The cultural training they receive in dedication to patient care and well being is second to none. After my Mom passed, I referred my wife's family and her Mom received as good of care as did mine. She was there about the same length of time and all care, birthday and holiday celebrations were simply inspiring. I would say "Don't hesitate to make Home Sweet Home your first and only choice for the best care available. Extended thanks to management and staff there for my Mom's care. My brother David, a disabled veteran, has been in the care of Home Sweet Home since the summer of 2010. The VA's residential Care Coordinator recommended them to me as one of the best facilities on their list of referrals. My sister and brother-in-law have been in the medical field for decades and one of the praises they have for Home Sweet Home is the fact that they are family owed, unlike so many facilities run by large and sometimes out of state companies; making it difficult if not impossible to have input or to facilitate change. I am very involved in David's care and can not say Home Sweet Home has been perfect because I do not believe any facility can be "perfect." What they have been is very cooperative with my desires to meet my standards which are probably above and beyond what I could find anywhere in the Houston area. I must be their most demanding family advocate and they have always worked patiently with me. Together, I feel we are providing my brother with the best home he has had in over four decades and I truly could not be more grateful to the Velasquez family for this gift they have given my brother and our family. They are conscientious about serving healthy meals and the accuracy of dispensing my brother's medication has been excellent. The VA doctors and I believe this alone has saved us many trips to the hospital. The home environment is clean, quiet and visually pleasing. I feel the owners and their staff are truly compassionate toward the residents and the personal relationships we have developed here is a large part of what makes it a home and not just a housing facility. I witnessed the care of my brother's roommate when he was ill and going into hospice. The Home Sweet Home family was very loving toward him and were like a surrogate family when he had none. In June I had to place my 75 year old brother, whom I had been taking care of for 8 years at home, here. He has severe dementia and is just starting into Alzheimer's. I had looked at numerous memory care facilities and resident homes, but Home Sweet Home was clearly outstanding in all respects. Their staff is the most caring and patient people that you could ever imagine. My brother is in a private bedroom (with a shared restroom) and he has enjoyed the privilege of hanging pictures and other knick knacks on the walls to make it seem more like his old bedroom. My brother also loves the attention he gets from the very attentive and genuinely loving staff, who are always concerned with his happiness, comfort, and well-being. I have been perfectly satisfied with the care that my brother has received at Home Sweet Home, and recommend it highly. Thanks to Rolando, the management, and the staff for all that you have done for my brother since June.

My father lived at Home Sweet Home for over four years before he passed away. Both he and I appreciated the individual compassion and sincerity the staff members gave towards him. If there was an emergency regarding his health as well as when his health began to fail, Christina would instantly call and communicate with me to give me updates until I arrived. The staff members never neglected to give my father the proper care he needed and deserved. They also were anxious to share stories of his various "antics" he pulled which not only deserved a laugh, but also showed me they effortlessly interacted with him on non medical basis. I have no regrets allowing my father to reside at Home Sweet Home. I believe he would have said the same. The rates were more affordable in comparison to most assisted living facilities and personal care homes in the Houston area. Thank you Home Sweet Home!!!

An exceptional place to have any family member reside!! It is run very organized and professional; the owners and staff have a solid foundation of health care and management of complicated issues; there is a great working relationship with wonderful doctors and home health care/hospice providers; the residents have developed a happy, nurturing community amongst themselves; and the staff treat each and every patient like they are their own family member. It is a loving, caring and safe harbor for my mom and I feel good each time I leave to go home that I know she is receiving the best care out there. We have been through the gamet of facilities (long-term hospital stay, rehab facilities, nursing homes and several other personal care homes) and this is the ONLY place I would give my FULL BLESSINGS and HIGHLY RECOMMEND. If you have been struggling to find a place for your loved one that is safe, healthy, clean, loving and truly a home environment ... you have found the place you've been looking for!!!

I placed my son (53 years old) in Home Sweet Home about 3 years ago (2013). He had been in 3 other homes, which had not been able to handle his care very well. He is a paranoid schizophrenic and unless medicated correctly, he will be delusional, difficult to communicate with, and undisciplined. If not in a Home and watched closely, he will be on the street. The secret to keeping him stable and communicable is to ensure his medications are taking properly each day, and he is not spitting them out. Most schizophrenics think they are okay after successfully being treated. They don't think medications are necessary anymore. Of course that is their downfall, which leads to future difficulties and problems. After discussing my son's disease in detail with Mr. Rolando Velasquez in 2013, he developed a plan to ensure that my son not only takes his medications properly, but ensures that he is fed balanced meals, kept clean, and watched closely for unusual events. This plan has worked excellent. My son has done well at Home Sweet Home and is happy with the staff and fellow patients he lives with. In addition, Mr. Velasquez is always available to discuss future hospital appointments, whereby he makes arrangements for transportation, as well as provides staff attendance with him at the VA hospital. Periodically,, he talks with the patients and ensures they are satisfied at the Home. The VA ACT team members will tell you that they rank this Home at the top of their list in Houston where they work with these type patients. Lastly, the cost of this Home is very competitive with all other Homes in Houston. The effective cost of service at this Home in my experience far exceeds the other three Homes where my son resided in the past. It is a great Home.

Everyone working at the home is friendly, great care givers and they take wonderful care of my father. They are very considerate and concerned with my dad's care. This is a fantastic place and my dad is very comfortable. I highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a place for the elderly with dementia or Alzheimer's.
