My father has been at Avista for over a year. My family visits him on a regular basis. We all go at different times and find the house to always be clean and calm. My father is always bathed and shaved. He did not get the care at his former Assisted Living facility that he receives now. The food always smells good and he enjoys it, which he did not at the other facility. There are several different people from Hospice Groups that are in and out of the home on a daily basis. Hannah, the owner is easy to get in touch with and always very helpful. She is at the house daily. The workers have always been so kind to us and my father. We are very thankful to have found Hannah and her facility.

Caring

Meagan

My dad is a resident of Avista Home. They cater their care to the person's ability to either move or not move; they just cater their care based on the person. The experience is pretty good for the most part. It's not a good experience overall to have to pull someone out of their home and put them somewhere, but the aides and the owner have worked closely with me to try to make it as comfortable of an experience as possible. The staff is nice, approachable and helpful. Value is good. The decor isn't put together. There's kind of like a hodgepodge of different furniture throughout the house. Some things could be updated like the paint in the house or the countertops could be nicer. Some of the railings around the toilets have a little bit of rust on them. They could improve on replacing those kinds of things, just fine-tuning and making it a little bit nicer and newer. They have a patio outside that's partly covered, and it has a koi pond with a waterfall, so that's nice. They have a barber come in, but that's just as needed. It's not someone that makes a rotation, but they offer that if you want it. They have cable TV and Wi-Fi. They could do some activities. The thing is that a lot of the people that are there can't really participate in them, so it doesn't make sense for them to have too much of that necessarily. I also find that it's kind of tiring when people come in a lot, so that's probably why they don't have that and that makes sense. They're pretty open if anything is suggested or wanted. Like I came in today and I installed a doorbell system where my dad can push a button and then the doorbell will ring in the kitchen if in case he needs something, and they were just like, 'Yeah, we'll be open to using that.' They're open to whatever you want to do.

A Place For Mom

What i liked about it is was it was smaller community that could offer more personalized care. The caregivers were nice, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care for the residents. We chose this community because of the size, the location, and it was more in our budget. The food was okay and they offered some variety . I would recommend this community.

Avista Home was a very good, clean place. I liked it for my mom. The staff was very nice and answered all of my questions. There were two different houses; one could accommodate six residents and the other one could accommodate seven. There were certain activities for physical therapy and memory loss.

Mom is in Avista, and all the relatives who visited her are really impressed with how lovely it is. It’s quiet with a beautiful setting and some activities. The staff is very caring, and they do things with them. I know she has gotten her nails done and a variety of other things.
