My dad lived at Rocky Hollow Lake House for over two years, and our experience over the last six months was deeply disappointing. Despite my mom repeatedly asking for Dad's room and bathroom to be mopped, his bed sheets to be changed, and for him to be showered at least twice a week, these basic requests were often ignored. The toilet in Dad's bathroom was out of order for multiple days. Dad lost 13 pounds during his last seven weeks at Rocky Hollow Lake House because the facility lost their cook. Additionally, there was constant turnover in the housekeeping, maintenance, and nursing staff, which severely impacted the quality of care and services. Due to these issues, my mom, sister, and I decided that Dad could not stay in this poorly managed facility any longer. We ultimately moved him to a different memory care facility where his needs could be properly met. I hope this review assists others in their search for a memory care facility for their loved ones.

Rocky Hollow Lake House staff created a loving home for my mother in the last 3 years of her life. They welcomed our family and became our beloved friends. They dealt with her dementia in a professional and caring way, always working with us to honor my mothers wishes with dignity. My mother was in hospice care for the last week of her life and they supported her and our family beautifully. My mother had been in two other assisted living places prior to Rocky Hollow and neither came close to meeting her individual needs as Rocky Hollow did.

My mother has been at this facility for almost two months, and I couldnt be happier. She is very frail and weak, and the staff is happy to accommodate her and her needs! Either I or my sister have been with her every day to keep her company, so Ive observed the internal functions of this facility and have gotten to know Faez, Donna and many of the staff. I feel very well informed and give this facility two-thumbs up! The location is beautiful, the rooms are roomy and clean, the food is great, the staff is extremely caring. I truly feel they treat my mom the way they would want others to treat their parent(s).

I always told Mom that when the time came, shed be able to live with us. We had NO IDEA it was even possible that she could develop a form of dementia with extremely rare psychosis. She heard voices in her head that she believed over us. We couldnt get her to eat, drink, or take her medicine b-c of her genuine fear of threats-punishment from the voices. We live much closer to MANY other memory care facilities in Cedar Park-Austin. Some of them said over the phone that they wouldnt handle psychosis and others we completely ruled out by visiting them. Finding nothing we were happy with or even willing to settle for, we expanded our search to Georgetown. R.Hs rooms are outstanding and amazingly spacious with TWO BIG windows that look into the beautiful (actual) outdoors (not an interior courtyard w- sky light). R.H.s very large outdoor area for the residents use is also actually outdoors and is safely fenced, so residents can go inside or outside whenever they want through the back doors, rather than feeling locked in. One of the owners, Faez, gave us THE BEST tour out of 12 facility tours we took. He was genuinely warm, compassionate, kind, and reassuring. He said, We want you to be able to enjoy your time here visiting your mother, and we will do all of the work. And for the last 10 months of her life, the staff at R.H. did exactly that, plus they truly loved her and took EXCELLENT care of her. I visited Mom often, and witnessed all of the staff consistently caring for all of the residents with patience and dignity. Moving her into Memory Care instead of our home was THE hardest thing Ive ever done... but I deeply believe Rocky Hollow was truly the best case scenario for Mom!! Being isolated makes psychosis worse. At R.H., Mom was surrounded by and truly cared about by the owners and staff, as well as the other residents and their family members. Donna is an absolute miracle worker, with the answer-solution to every possible struggle-difficulty!! Shes like the Mary Poppins of elder care, and there is no one Id rather have responsible for my mothers care than her. I am so thankful for ALL of the staffs kindness and compassion!! When I was taking care of Mom myself (even before the psychosis!), she said NO! to me - ALL the time!! She lived on high protein oatmeal, yogurt, and Boost - the only things she would agree to eat! But, at R.H., she ate three GOOD meals a day, she happily participated in activities (amazing!), she was WELL taken care of, and she had people around her who became friends. Rocky Hollow was a 1.5 hour round trip commute for me to visit her, but it was WELL WORTH the drive!! I cannot recommend Rocky Hollow enough. Your loved one will be in the best possible hands.

We have been here several times for the day stay and are planning on a couple weeks of stay. I was very leary about leaving our family member after two really bad experiences at local places. However, I was put at ease after meeting Donna and the rest of the people that worked here. Each person was engaged with the seniors and you could see that they really cared for them. This makes the process so much easier for you and allows you to do what you need to do and know they are being cared for.

My Mom moved into Rocky Hollow Lake House in September, 2017. I am impressed by the beauty of the facility; rooms are large and super-attractive, with new well-designed features for the best care possible. Moms pictures, furniture, and treasured possessions from her home make her apartment warm and familiar. There are many great amenities such as a theater, large TV livingroom, dining-kitchen (the food is excellent and nutritious), outside porches, and beautifully landscaped accessible grounds within the locked area. Mom loves to be outside in the fresh air and greenery, and spends a good deal of time on the grounds. Social interaction is facilitated through group activities, and residents are encouraged to participate. Staff treat the residents with dignity, compassion and love. I feel she is very happy here.Faez Khan, Donna, and the resident staff provide for any and all needs of the residents, and keep me informed of any development or change in Moms condition. There are residentnurses on staff and a doctor is on call.I live outside the state, and can visit severaltimes a year, so am happy I can trust that she is getting the best care possible.I highly recommend Rocky Hollow Lake House.
