We recently moved our 92-year-old mother to Colonial Oaks from a nursing home in Arlington. She has Dementia and needs memory care. We toured many facilities in the area before choosing Colonial. We chose them because they have a different approach to care. To them care means caring. They are friendly, supportive and have activities that the residents participate in. This keeps them active and not stuck in their rooms. They understand that cleanliness is important. They wash their soiled clothes immediately; this keeps things smelling better. The workers care about the residents and do their jobs with a smile. These things are directly related to the management's team spirit. The day after we moved our mom into Colonial, we checked on her. We were afraid she would be disoriented and sad. She not only was happy, but she was also more alert than she had been in years. She even called her son by his name. Maybe it was a onetime thing, but she is happier, that’s all we wanted for her. We just want her to spend her last days happy. Thank you to all the staff at Colonial Oaks for doing an excellent job and caring for the residents so much! Your dedication is shown on the faces of the residents, who are happier because of you!!!

In viewing Colonial Oaks Assisted Living in Garland, Texas, I think it would be a great place for my loved one to live. They are such a caring home for the residents. They provide many activities for the ones who live there. The care is top notch. The community is very clean and well maintained. All the residents I visited with, love their home. Stay away. The ENTIRE management staff was replaced at the end of October with zero notice to residents. The NEW staff is horrible. When it comes to the residents, they treat them as if it's a parochial school and not an assisted living facility. They give you one "warning" about a resident needing to make an adjustment to their lifestyle. If the resident doesn't do it on the Staff's timeline, they give you 30 days notice claiming that they aren't able to handle the resident's care anymore because it's "too complex". What was one of the best facilities is now junk in terms of the management staff. It's clear they only care about the bottom line and NOT the residents whom they are supposed to be caring for.

Colonial Oaks has been a community that I have visited and done activities in for the past 2 years. It’s very nice and the residents are engaged in regular activities. The leadership here is also fantastic at putting the resident first. If you’re looking for a place that allows your loved one to age in place, this is it!

I moved my mother to this facility in July of 2021, and I have seen nothing but loving and wonderful care. They have helped me navigate this difficult situation (being an only child and having both my mother and father's health fail simultaneously and lose independence) and have always responded with thoughtful care for myself and my mother. We are currently paying down our assets until my mother qualifies for Medicaid, and in the meantime, Colonial Oaks is a lovely and friendly home.

Senior living centers often go unrecognized and I think that should change. This facility has 5 stars all the way around. Although I have never had a family member live there, I have known residents and family members of residents that do. Before the pandemic, it was easy to see it. Clean facility, friendly staff, schedules being kept, special requests being met... but then BOOM! Pandemic. Can we just sit there and think about the crazy that we all had to deal with and then triple that for these residents. They can no longer hug their family, they cant sit outside with their grandkids. They cant sit and enjoy coffee with their closest friends. Some not even understanding why. BUT when I say the staff STEPPED UP! Whoa! Im talking face to face through windows, FaceTime calls, BIRTHDAY PARADES!!! Yes!! Parades!! AND MORE. All while keeping everyone as safe as possible, as sane as possible and disinfecting like crazy. To the entire staff: Thank you! You are appreciated by many, especially on the tougher days.

One of the most difficult things a family member may have to face is finding an appropriate assisted living and, or memory care facility for their loved ones. However, it is my experience that Colonial Oaks at Campbell Park (Garland Texas) not only have the educated and compassionate staff to assist your navigation through this confusing process, they provide excellent accommodations and compassionate care for your loved one. In addition, the trained staff will provide resources to help you understand your specific family members health and, or mental challenges, which in turn enhances your relationship with your loved one. Your loved one will also receive that same guidance and personal care to help them gain insight and peace of mind. My only regret was not getting my family member into their personal care sooner!

Almost two years ago, we moved my parents into Arbor House Garland Assisted Living… they didnt want to go at the time, but mom did well and my dad really flourished there. Sadly, dad passed away this February and my moms dementia had progressed to the point that we needed to move her to memory care, Arbor Gardens. We have been very pleased with the care she has received there.Arbor House and Arbor Gardens arent perfect, but there is no perfect place, it just doesnt exist. What we did find was a place that watched out for them, served good food, dispensed medicines, cleaned, developed a caring relationship, and was there for them 24, 7. It took a staff consisting of a lot of people, but Arbor House, Gardens has taken care of my parents at a level above what I had the ability to provide. We feel extremely fortunate to have found Arbor House, Gardens. They have gently helped us through the very difficult time of moving mom to memory care. They are caring, loving and attentive to my mom, and my family and I appreciate so much the entire staff of Arbor House Garland.

I had the opportunity to work with the wonderful folks at Arbor House of Garland where my parents stayed for a short time. While their stay at Arbor House was brief, I found the management team, associates and care givers to be compassionate, very responsive and caring. The atmosphere is cheerful and the staff go out of their way to communicate with you and make you feel like part of a community! My grandma has very bad dementia. She can be so sweet and then the next minute be overly mean to my mom. The staff at Arbor House is compassionate and works with her when shes having a hard time. She seems a lot more happy living at Arbor House than she did living with us. Arbor House is really great and our whole family loves the place.

We struggled with the idea of my dad living anywhere but our home as he has some memory issues. Arbor House has been a blessing to our family and the perfect place for him. 5 star staff and facility. Wow! Arbor House is exceptional. From Ms. Lauren (their marketing Director) to all their personnel you could not ask for a more passionate group of people. The facilities with all its top notch amenities is definitely an Assisted Living and Memory Care place that I feel very comfortable in referring my clients and their families to. Great place for families in search of their loved ones looking for care that specializes in Alzheimer and dementia with 24-hour nursing, we even offer a diabetic program for those with special diet needs. This is a great community to work at, Ive enjoyed being part of the management team and we have wonderful staff to provide the best care to our residents. We placed my father-in-law here, and we are quite pleased overall. The place is clean, the staff is attentive, (and friendly) and the food is superb.The staff and corporate management have gone out of their way to resolve the issues that inevitably arise when moving an elderly person. It does take some time for them to feel at home, and the family and teh facility must work together to smooth the transition.is now painting things (for the first time in several years), and is walking all over the place. HUGE improvement !BTW: We strongly suspect that the 1 star was written by an employee that was fired, as we are familiar with some of the reasons for the termination. The language sounds like that person...

As the Marketing Director at Arbor House of Garland we take the reviews of our community very seriously, and I can only hope it is not retaliation of a disgruntled employee. We hate to hear that there have ever been concerns about the cleanliness of our kitchen. I have not experienced or witnessed any of those concerns and I can only assure that by the termination of our most recent Kitchen Manager we have eliminated any further issues. We pride ourselves on maintaining a clean, beautiful community and a well educated and trained staff.

You come thinking its an regular Assisted living or Nursing rehabilitation to find yourself feeling right at home from the staff Greetings to the warm hughs from residents.
