I am rehabing here after surgery. Everyone here is friendly and I have been taken care of by the wonderful staff. A big "Thank You" to Jennifer, Ruth, Misty all the others for all they have done for me. Also, Charlene Middleton for keeping my room clean (I am a messy guy LOL) and Tasha Herd for all her help. I must mention the transportation folks that drove me to my dr. appointments. Al and Najid were excellent and showed real concern for me. I have to mention the "weekend" crew as the were great as well. Amanda Workman, Juanita Munoz, Mariah and Lorinda took great care of me a and were super friendly. I most likely left out someone who also did a great job and for that I apologize. When I say EVERYBODY here was friendly is an understatement! I would recommend these folks 100% !!!

The exceptional, personalized and prompt customer service by Ms Raspberry has been beyond anything I could expect or hope for! I live in Austin and have been helping my father in Denton make decisions on how to proceed with a life transition that is emotional and daunting. I sent an inquiry email via the web page on a Saturday evening around 5PM and received a personal call from Ms Raspberry within an hour. She had already contacted my father, given him a variety of options and answers to his questions which helped ease his concerns greatly. Then she contacted me to inform me of the options and confirm I was comfortable with the process Daddy had ahead of him as he makes this life change. The follow-up care from Ms Raspberry and the team at Lake Forest Village in Denton has been impressive and delivered in a way that is simultaneously compassionate, caring and dignified. Making a move is stressful enough without the added concerns that come with downsizing and entering a senior living community after living in the same house for decades. I had the pleasure of spending a fun-filled day at this amazing facility! From the moment I walked through the doors, I was welcomed with warm smiles and open hearts. The smiles on the patients’ faces said it all”they were having an incredible time. From the wheelchair wash on Friday morning to the prom in the afternoon, the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. A special shoutout to Victoria Soto, Jennifer Garza, Devin Freeman, Truly Perlow, and Beth Walters. They were phenomenal! Their teamwork, compassion, and dedication are truly unmatched. This is such a special place, and I can’t wait to come back and help at another event!

I had the opportunity to tour Lake Forest Village today and learn more about the Independent Living community with Sandy Rasberry. What a lovely community! From the moment I arrived, it was clear that residents genuinely enjoy living here. I met several residents spending time together in the coffee room, visiting with friends, and enjoying the fresh air while relaxing on the outdoor benches. What stood out most was Sandy's interaction with the residents. She took the time to greet each person warmly, and it was evident how much they appreciate her kindness. The sense of connection and community was apparent throughout my visit. The apartments are spacious, comfortable, and welcoming, creating an environment that feels like home. As someone who helps seniors and their families navigate senior living options, I can see why this community is such a great fit for many older adults!

My sister picked this place out, and I am so thankful for her because I’ve never been in a place where everyone genuinely loves doing their job. When I came to the facility smelt awesome. I can in hoping and praying that I would have a better experience than I had at the other place. Walking into this amazing place with the amazing people working smiling and happy to be there. I walked in and I thought celebrity status. Everyone knew my name, I had my name on my room.. I enjoyed the professionalism, the kindness, when it came to my care everybody was so respectful they knocked on your door. We are considering moving to a Senior Adult campus that offers villas with follow on care should it be needed in the future. We have visited a dozen or more facilities but none had what we needed. Lake Forest Village offers all of this plus meals in a large open development with lots of room to walk. The staff is extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. Sandy Rasberry started as a sales representative, but quickly became a trusted resource as we explained our wants and needs. As we progressed through the decision points, we committed with a deposit to secure getting on the waitlist. A lovely villa was available, but we aren’t ready to sell our current home and move. Sandy understood and continues to keep us informed. We look forward to forward to moving to Lake Forest Village when the timing is right. Thanks Sandy The Watsons

My mother has lived in one of the cottages at Lake Forest Village for about a year and a half. On March 24th she fell while on her patio. Luckily she was wearing her fall detection lanyard. Help was at her door within minutes. An ambulance was called. She had broken her femur. After a week in the hospital, she needed time in rehab. We opted for the rehab center here at Lake Forest. And we have been extremely happy with that decision! It is not the fanciest facilities. However the care she received was exceptional. Ruth was an excellent nurse. And all of the aids have taken wonderful care of her! Marcella, Amber, Sandy and Amanda were the ones who most frequently attended to Mom. And ALL four of them were so gentle, attentive and kind to mom! WONDERFUL CAREGIVERS!! We greatly appreciate all they have done to make mom comfortable during her stay. She gets to go home tomorrowyay! We are so thankful to have this wonderful facility just right across the parking lot.

I am currently staying in the Skilled Nursing Floor at Lake Forest Village. I have been here since Monday, April 20th. I will be here for at least another week maybe a bit longer. I will leave another review at the end of my stay. But, I wanted to take a moment to talk about Maricela. She is the weekend caregiver and I am one of her assigned patients. I just cannot say enough about how she kindly goes above and behind in caring for me. She treats me with respect and listens to me regarding my needs She responds promptly when I turn on the call light and stays with until I complete the task. And, she has a lovely sense of humor. She has a beautiful accent and is so patient with me when I ask her to repeat what she said. It means so very much to have a kind and caring person when I am in pain and also waiting anxiously on a pathology report regarding a mass on my lung that was just discovered when I received a full body CT Scan because of my fall. Thank you Maricela!

A skilled nursing home may not be the most satisfying environment to choose for a husband's temporary stay. But Lake Forest Village was such a caring, "homey" and yet highly professional environment. It became a vital and meaningful healing space for my loved one. What impressed me most was the sense of team work that I saw over and over again. I am grateful for all of the staff, but would like to express my special thanks to Juanita Munoz and Marisela Cantoran for their contributions to my husband's positive outcome. Yes, they were hardworking. But both women applied impressive intelligence to every task they undertook. The staff truly go above and beyond every single day. Nurse Ruth and Jonathan have been fantastic”kind, attentive, and professional. Her care techs, Amanda and Agnes M., are absolute angels. I am looking at our next home opportunities and love Lake forest. Three concerns however. No dog park and most twin homes don’t have a fenced in dog area so that walking is required daily. I also wish there was a pool and hot tub especially since the twin homes don’t have tubs. Last no medical staff on site 24 hours is our last concern. Any chance these issues could be addressed. We are looking to move in the near future. By the way the food is amazing. Wish there was a monthly meal plan cost.

Hands down one of the best communities for you or your loved ones. A true age in place option from Independent living, Assisted living, and when needed Skilled Nursing and Long-term care. Longevity of care team is unheard of and here you will find people that have been caring for residents for longer than other places have even been around! From the maintenance team to the Administration and everyone else you will not be disappointed. I have had the pleasure of working with multiple families over the years who share their experiences of living and being cared for by this team and I would feel comfortable having my own family look to be here when the time comes. Shout out to Freddie the Executive Director for having a team that does the best! Theta is a top notch Director of Nursing for the skilled and long-term care residents. Victoria brings fun activities to the SNF. Families I have worked with have expressed their appreciation to Rhonda in the Assisted Living. Annette in the Business Office takes the time to speak with you and is full or warmth and comfort in her conversations. Sandy brings excitement and passion to the community and fits right in with everyone truly caring about the right fit for families. I could go on and on about each person within this "campus" a true community yo consider. Last but not least... the food! Hats off to the chefs for outstanding delicious food! Stop by and take a tour and enjoy some of their food because you will not be disappointed!

I recently toured Lake Forest Village as a walk-in, and I was so impressed from the moment I arrived. The community felt warm, welcoming, and full of life. I took my parents and brother to Lake Forest Village in Denton for a tour. We were first greeted by Sandy and she immediately made me feel at ease and was very friendly. Amy was the person who provided detailed information on floor plans and pricing to help narrow down what we might be interested in and took us on a tour of the property. She was very professional, friendly, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We were interested in the twin homes and cottages and they did not disappoint. It is a very quiet community and we were met with nothing but kindness from everyone. We were treated to lunch and all the food was delicious, especially the yummy desserts. I could see my parents living here and they seemed very comfortable during an emotional transitional phase of their life.

I have mixed feelings about this place. My father had an extend stay for skilled nursing, and while I wasn't unhappy with the stay, I can't say I was completely happy with it either. The biggest bright spots were Jennifer and Amber who were always cheery and helpful and never once made my father feel like a burden despite him being there for losing his ability to stand, so they had to change and clean him after he relived himself. After having him come back home and do it myself, I can say those two ladies are absolute angels for what they do and how they do it with such grace and dignity. Davon the driver was another fun and bright spot. He's always upbeat and energetic and injected some humour into my father's multiple trips to doctors' offices and dialysis. Al the other driver was very nice as well, but he was more about the business. I liked how polite and kind he was, but Davon is younger and more talkative, so it's nice contrast to have both personalities there. Sometimes you want to sit in silence, and sometimes you want to hear someone wax poetic about how the Lakers bombed their season this year. The kitchen staff were always nice and polite. They were also very helpful and willing to get me extra plates and silverware for food I'd bring in from home. The physical therapy staff were always very friendly and upbeat. All of them seemed like they were meant for that line of work with how motivating and accommodating they were with differing abilities from their patients. Some negatives were some staff that I don't really want to call out by name that weren't as friendly or kind. There was a particular aide who was responsible for my father overnight, and she always made him feel bad about having to relive himself as if he likes soiling himself and making someone else clean it. She would always be in a rush to be done with it and never made him feel comfortable. It made me value Jennifer and Amber even more for the dignity they imparted into their very difficult and dirty work. The food was okay, but it was sometimes unappetising to my father. Sometimes the food was overcooked and tough, and sometimes it was fantastic. It's kind of a mixed bag. But you can tell the kitchen staff do care and try their best, and the menu varies quite a bit, so it's great to see such variety. Lastly, I had to twist the facility's arm into getting the proper care, equipment, and medication for my father because there was some back and forth about who is responsible for paying for certain things and what the facility's expectations are. While that experience was frustrating, I will say the facility handled it very well when I escalated the matter. It ultimately was not malice on their part but rather the complexity of my father's case and how many moving parts there are with healthcare in general, so I won't really knock them for that. If anything, it's kind of a positive because it shows they're willing to listen when you're not happy about something and address it in a timely manner. Ultimately I'm neutral on the facility for skilled nursing. I feel like if you're there for a simple matter, it's probably sufficient. But if you have a very complex case, you need to really be on top of things or have someone advocate for you.

Aides Jennifer, Amber and Alexis should be commended because of their gentle touch and caring Heart. When is time to get ready for the morning? Get ready for bed they’re all are ready and eager and happy to help. Get what needed to be done. Done without being a Grinch. after you push the bell not very long for them to respond and I’m so thankful for that because I almost pee pee on myself a couple of times. They made their job seemed enjoyable, dealing with some sad and lonely people. They brought joy in love. CLAIRE, one of the med nurses aid I have a lot of shame on how much medicine I take, but she didn’t show be over whelmed, that she was always had a smile on her face and such a loving voice. It kept me at peace. When I felt ugly and old, she made me feel beautiful and young that really moved my heart I needed that . I can’t hide the new scar on my neck. I’m not really a vain person. I just feel like I’m defeated and that is not what she saw when she saw me. She even said my name I prefer which is my middle name LaMenniae right the very first time that amaze me! She has been promptly on time with my medicine. And shows how happy she is to see me and giving my meds make me feel special very special. Her words were so up lifting!!!! Take care of your self and let go of what you can’t control so So true. REGINA Weatherall LVN night nurse She is very thorough. In what she does to help me get better. She tries to help make me feel comfortable as possible. She as well as the other loving mad nurses are on top of my meds and she makes me feel special. Like even though she/they may have 50 patients she makes me feel like the only one when she is with me. Sally John is a nurse I really believe all of the people that cross your PATH that is God at work in your life she is one of them. Tanner, one of the medicine aids had dropped my medicine he picks it up and said he would be right back to get another one. He stood at the door not even a half of a second . He brought the same med back. I looked at him and to let him know I knew what he did I cleaned that med with my sheet while looking at his face . Lord knew what I wanted to do to him. But God guided me away from smacking him. He gives me peace. I love God so much. That man is deceitful. Again he messed up again. He messed up and gave me triple dose of one of my medication’s. I am scared of him and for the people this man is giving out medicine for Everyone. God protect the patient from his lack of everything. Please don’t allow him to take a life.. Ruth Kavanaugh lvn Is a very on top of things person. Again she like the others are so loving and gentle souls. Colby physical Therapist He is amazing. He pushed me when I needed to and that is why I can leave when I did. He has a heart to serve. Occupation physical therapy team we’re outstanding they work together so well for the good of me. The skilled nursing facility is great! Been visiting this facility for almost 6 years and the staff here truly care about their residents/patients. I work with CNAs (Amber, Jennifer), nurses (Ruth, Tristan), social work Karla, managers (Savannah, Theta), administrator Freddie, the therapy staff, just to name a few. I always see the cleaning staff working diligently as well. Everyone is kind, considerate, hard working and so easy to collaborate with to provide quality care. Highly recommend Lake Forest SNF!

The facility is clean thanks the Nina and Debbie. Starla Futrell cares for her patients. Same with Maia and Myriaha. After my shower Wanda doesn't just blow dry my hair, she styles it. I look like I just left the salon. Cece is one of my favorites. They moved her to a different hall so I don't see her very often. She was there for me when my son was dying. I appreciate her kindness and suggestions that helped me through that difficult time. I miss seeing her.

For seniors who prefer living in a lovely natural environment, Lake Forest Village is certainly the best residential facility in all of Denton. The buildings are set on dozens of acres of greenery, including a variety of trees and bushes on the property itself, a creek, and a bordering forest area which is home to countless birds, squirrels, turtles, and other wild creatures. Various trails through the forest join a small lake (with a fountain) to a nearby city park. A variety of housing options are available on campus, including twin homes, apartments at ground level, and apartments in the main building. An activity building has a gym, two exercise areas, a library, and a comfortable theater. The main building has a dining room, an arts and crafts room, a game room, multiple stocked bookshelves, a convenience store, a chapel, a beauty salon, a thrift store, and a lobby. In addition, there is a separate section for assisted living apartments, as well as the health center for residents recovering from medical conditions. An activities director organizes weekly music, dining, and gaming events “ both on campus and off. The transportation staff kindly brings residents to and from their appointments in town, free of charge. The community garden allows residents to grow herbs, vegetables, and flowers. There are other nice touches, too numerous to mention. During the past few months, the new management has made several significant improvements, including much faster Wi-Fi, repair and resurfacing of the parking lot, and a completely redecorated dining room with a much better menu. Yet the best part of all is the people “ both the residents and the staff “ who are friendly, helpful, and welcoming to new residents. I really enjoy living here!

Well. It is like no other place for people needing some help. It's very clean compared to most, because it's the duty of those staying in the establishment to tend to It's needs, and there's volunteer jobs. Not too much, but one can stay at a small fee. Very nice, extra food, and a person can maintain some bad habits, if they need too, but a zero drug policy.

The activity director will not be happy if you charge what you're worth if you are providing entertainment. Beware! She said she could only pay a certain amount, so we graciously lowered our price to accommodate her. She then proceeded to leave a review for us saying she was still unhappy with the price that she booked us for after the performance. The residents seem happy, and our performer had a lovely time showcasing a lot of talents for them, but beware if you are working with this facility.

I have lived at Good Samaritan Lake Forest since March of 2017. I really appreciate all of the amenities offered at Good Samaritan and have made many friends here. The staff is very caring and we have been well protected during this "pandemic" time. I recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place to live out their later years.

Lake Forest Village is a BEAUTIFUL community. It sits on about 80 acres and has a country like setting just minutes from shopping and medical facilities. The lake has walking trails for residents to enjoy and provides a place for them to experience all the natural wildlife that live close by. They have raised garden beds that residents can grow fruits and vegetables. They also have a theater room, fitness center, several libraries, arts studio, chapel, salon, and even a general store that allows residents the ability to shop for daily necessities. If residents do want to leave the campus, they can sign up for transportation services free of charge. All of the apartments, cottages and twin homes are beautiful with upgraded touches throughout the homes. The residents are friendly and enjoy getting to know one another and the staff is caring and works hard to keep everyone safe and happy.
