Krysten Creen did an excellent job of showing us two different stand alone homes at the facility. We were impressed with the floorplans as this was the type of home we were looking for. She was patient and did a great job of answering our questions and providing information about applying for the waiting list. Good work!

I had a great experience with the staff at The Healthcare Resort of Plano. The medication aides here are truly attentive, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Lori Maldonado really stood out”she is patient, kind, and very professional. You can tell she genuinely cares about the residents and takes pride in making sure medications are handled safely and on time. It makes a huge difference knowing your loved ones are in good hands. Highly recommend this facility for the level of care and dedication their staff provides!

PVN and all their support allow me to sleep well at night knowing my mother is well taken care of and surrounded by loving and supportive professionals and friends. My parents moved into a lovely IL Patio home in November of 2024 after transitioning from their long time home in Melissa. Although my father passed away just 2 months after their move, my mother continued in their patio home for another year. After several hospital and TRC rehab visits, we all agreed that it was time for the move to AL and Joyce Hall. In March of 2026 my mom moved into her cute 1 bedroom apartment with all the support and care she needs. From day one, I have only had wonderful and positive experiences with the PVN staff, options, facilities, resources, and services. I feel a sincere and strong connection with everyone on the campus and I know my mother is in loving and caring hands. The Serenity Prayer teaches us accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can and wisdom to know the difference. I feel so fortunate for the serenity, courage and wisdom we all had when we chose PVN as our mother’s new home. The PVN community will never replace our family, but I honestly feel we have just expanded our extended family to include PVN as we join efforts to support my mother and provide her with an excellent and comfortable quality of life. Thank you PVN! Dr. Michael Adams Son of Nancy Adams

Everyone was very nice, friendly, and helpful!

The staff is warm and welcoming. I did not like the light blue paint by the doorways. If it needs to be blue it should be a lighter blue. I am sure the new flooring will make a big difference.

They took excellent care of my mom! Thank you nurse Terry and all the other great nurses and staff!
April 2025
My father has dementia and is a resident in the Terraces Unit of PVN. Let's start with the good. Sales process and the 2 ladies leading it is professional and not high pressure. The facilities are great. The residents rooms and bathrooms are private and spacious with high quality buildouts, nice outdoor areas, good athletic facilities. The food is good. I've noticed generally high quality, tasty food getting served. The staff means well. I don't doubt the sincerity of the staff wanting to help improve the quality of life of the residents whether that means providing engaging activities or live music in the common areas, get them medical care when needed, speak to them encouragingly when they need to be re-guided. The issues I ran into require a little bit of context. My father is averse to getting help on showers. The PVN nurse suggested we look into getting some meds to help on shower days and get some external extra help to provide showers for him. While I wasn't happy to pay for extra help, given the high cost of PVN I thought the request was presented in a professional manner. The issues come in with a lack of professional approach to medical management and follow-up. I consider these issues significant enough to ding PVN down to 2 stars. My father's doctor agreed that some medicines could help make shower days a little easier and that it was important for him to stay clean on a regular basis. The problem is that now, despite this being the PVN staff's idea, they are unable to get the medicines to my dad on the morning's of the shower days. They have missed this 3 out of the last 4 shower days, which then makes the task of giving showers a monumental task. It would seem that this would be easy to address given that they claim to give him his other medicines, but the one medicine that was introduced - effectively at their request - is something they seem unable or unwilling to give him. I have called numerous times and can get an answer about 50% of the time. I have sent 4 emails on this topic to the Head Nurse & her assistant and have a 0% response rate thus far. In my mind this boils down to poor leadership. I have no way of communicating with the senior leaders of PVN to get these issues addressed. The nurses ignore my emails, and worse, deny my father the access to right medicines, at the right time, that will improve his and his fellow residents quality of life. it is my belief that PVN needs to fundamentally transform the culture and leadership of their organization. They are currently falling far short of their mission.

WOW - this facility and its staff go above and beyond in the care of their residents at Joyce Hall where my mother is. Whenever we have a request or question, the staff are quick to respond and have a wonderful and caring attitude which I can't thank them enough for! I'm amazed at how happy the residents and staff are due to the exceptional atmosphere which is created there. There are so many fun activities planned every day by the outstanding entertainment director. The food is delicious and the decor is top notch and personable. Our family made the right choice in selecting this facility for our mother and we highly recommend it!

Mom has been in assisted-living at Presbyterian Village, North since breaking her hip three months ago. The rehab phase was very comprehensive and got her back to her baseline. Mom felt much safer at Presbyterian Village, North and decided to stay rather than return to her condo. The staff are very kind to the residents and take good care of them. Housekeeping, laundry, and meals are all taken care of. Daily activities keep the residents active and engaged.

As the live-in guest of an 82 yo Transitional Rehabilitation Center patient, I am very satisfied with the staff and dedicated PTs and OTs. Besides the sometimes long delays in nurse's aides responses to the patient's pushing the call button, my BIGGEST complaints are: (1) Medicare determines the number of therapy minutes, NOT the PT and OT therapists, and (2) Medicare determines the discharge date, even when people at PVN who have interacted with the patient, THINK she would improve her balance with more physical therapy. Medicare denied her appeal.

My experience at PVN started after 48 hours in another facility. When I arrived at PVN, I was taken to my room and immediately felt at home. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Within the first hour or two I was visited by various staff who explained their responsibilities, and encouraged me to call if I had a need of any kind. Meals were tasty, well balanced, and delicious. I felt cared for and important. Staff listened to my concerns, and demonstrated skills which made me feel confident that they could competantly care for me. Within 24 hours I was evaluated for various therapies, and they were delivered promptly by trained professionals who gave positive feedback and encouraged me. My personal progress was supported by everyone with whom I interacted. I truly feel I would never have recovered so quickly or so well had I been anywhere else.

As a private duty caregiver, i would say this facility is very human. The aids here, some better than others. No one is perfect and not every aid does things like me. I dont care how u do it as long as it is safe. After a few changes my lady has had no problems. Everybody has been real nice and attentive to my lady. Not one caregiver has walked out on her. They work even through the tough times. I appologize about the drama we brought with us, but if there was a perfect place we would be there but there is not so presby is the next best thing. Thank all of the staff 4 their hospitality

I'm writing on behalf of a resident patient. She has had relatively good care at this facility, especially on the Hoblitzelle unit. The providers have taken a personal interest in this patient, for which I am grateful. However, prior to her being moved to this unit, she was on the (3rd? floor) of Arbor House, a patient safety nightmare. In addition to being told to "eliminate in her diaper" as the personnel was too busy to assist her to the bathroom, her laundry was lost and she was required to wear the same soiled clothing for several days. The hand sanitizer in her room and others was not refilled for 3 days. As she had an infectious condition, (Clostridium difficile), the likelihood of infection other patients was increased. We were recently informed that the lost clothing would not be replaced. This is unacceptable. Once again, the staff in the Hoblitezell Unit have been exemplary. Arbor House, however, is in dire need of continuing medical education.

Yesterday was the first day for my father. Huge property. I will only comment on the area my father is in. So, most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Of course, my dad's aid was not experienced. I rang the nurse call for help to the bathroom for my dad. When the aid came I told her what he needed. Well, dad changed his mind but wanted help getting out of bed. Aid says so, what do you want me to do? Then walked out of the room. Noone was wearing a name tag nor did they have a badge or anyway of knowing who they are. Also, my dad is a fall risk....not once did I see staff use a gait belt. We even tried to give his aid a belt to use but she chose not to use it. How about she dropped my dad. Luckily he didn't fall all the way to the ground but she expected us to help her not drop him to the floor. Really wish we didn't have to educate or stay on top of their staff to insure his safety. Nor do I think I should risk my safety because she didn't use the proper tools. Hopefully today will be better.
