The facility has much to do to provide commendable support to residents for sure. And it is evident that it doesn’t have a full complement of employees. So the work load is kind of lopsided. Nevertheless, many employees are greater people. I must mention Grace - the activity director. Grace gave my mother the attention she deserved. My mother fondly referred to her as my daughter . Shantel (Social services), Prathima(Nurse), Grace(CNA), Tracy(Director of Nursing) are all great people. Overall my experience dealing with the facility was satisfactory

Grace, Sujata, Eugene, and Stephanie have been awesome! A BIG shout out to Grace, the activities director at Sandy Lake Rehab Center. She always has a smile on her face and she seems to know every resident there by their name. She organizes activities to keep the residents busy and happy. There are always seasonal activities and she also decorated the halls and common areas for the holidays. Her effort makes the residents’ stay more pleasurable! I’d like to compliment my sister’s day nurse, Sujata, who is always responsive to my questions, my sister’s needs, and helpful about scheduling her medical transportation to doctor appointments. Sujata is a kind and pleasant nurse. We are happy she is in charge of my sister’s medical needs. Eugene does the maintenance at this facility. He goes above and beyond what is expected. Recently, he worked diligently to help me get a smart tv installed in my sister’s room so she could watch her shows. This was very important to us so she’d be comfortable and happy during her stay here. Eugene was very easy to work with and accommodating to installing the tv for us. A BIG THANK YOU for helping to make my sister’s stay here pleasant!! Stephanie is the Receptionist. She greets me daily with a smile and makes me feel welcome. She has helped or directed me to the proper person when I had a question!

My father spent 8 days here recovering from sepsis, and a minor heart attack. Everyone we encountered in his short stay were kind, helpful, and very pleasant to be around. So many kind, and caring people, but there were some that we must name starting with the first person we met. It was Grace the activities director. She was so helpful, and informative. Others we need to mention because of their kindness were his caseworker Shontay, Eugene, and Linda his amazing helpers that kept him smiling. Tracy, and all of her nurses. India, and Palak who made PT, and OT fun. We will miss all of them.

Sandy Lake Rehabilitation and Care Center has so many Great people working there. A few people that stand out to me are Grace Ezenwa who does a wonderful job scheduling activities for the residents and helping attend to their needs, she really cares about each and every one of them. Patti the business Manager is always ready to help with any need or question you may have. The rest of the staff and nurses are caring attentive people that care about the residents needs, medications and care. I would recommend Sandy Lake to anyone needing their services. I am adding a few more names to the list of the Stars that work at Sandy Lake Rehab Care, Kim and Linda are two very caring Employees that go far beyond what is expected of them. They both treat the patients like family and both Excel in what they do every day ! Thank you for all you do !!!

The staff is very attentive .The whole facility is very clean and fresh smelling,( not like a lot of others).The only issue I have is with the food. The menu needs to be updated asap. It's a very small menu rotation and sometimes you can't really tell what it's supposed to be. I completely trust the facility with the care of my mother and that is what maters

My mother is currently in this facility and 99% of the staff are phenomenal (Doctors, Nurses, CNAs, Therapists, Intake, Management and Front desk)!! Who my mother and I would really like to point out though is Linda. She gives care to my mother like her own family. Her mood is always upbeat and she is so passionate about her people. She doesn't complain about anything. And always does exactly what she says she's going to do. Rebecca at the front desk gave me the initial tour and she was the primary reason why i chose Sandy Lake. The staff can relate and they understand! They don't take care, they give it! I highly recommend this place. UPDATE - And please don't let me forget Belinda. She's amazing!! She's consistent, extremely sweet and gives such good care.

Although she had a difficult start, she’s made remarkable progress in the time she’s been here. Ella, Jowana and Sheila, her nursing staff, keep me informed about her condition on the days I can’t visit. Miss Kim (CNA) has been an absolute blessing to both of us. She’s always there with a smile and a wonderful attitude, and she’s incredibly quick to respond when mom needs assistance. There are other outstanding staff members who have helped out in many ways also. The office staff has been incredibly helpful in providing advice on navigating this new chapter in mom’s care. The therapy group is always very encouraging to her. They genuinely want to see her succeed in learning to walk and taking care of herself again.

I have mixed feelings about my mother’s stay at Sandy Lake Memory Care. The admission staff were great”very helpful and made the process smooth. Dr. Hernandez and his nurse, Katherine, also did a wonderful job ensuring my mother’s medications were in order. However, beyond that, the experience was disappointing. The social worker was completely unhelpful”a waste of a salary, to be blunt. The facility itself wasn’t very clean, and the staff did not seem family-oriented. There was a lack of communication between staff admin and shifts. My mother was rarely given baths unless she had soiled herself or assisted with her dentures, so I had to come in and do it myself. Less than a week after she moved in, her brand-new comforter set, feathered pillow, and shoes mysteriously went missing. If your loved one cannot advocate for themselves, I would not recommend this place. That being said, there were a few bright spots. Connie was an exceptional nurse”her kindness and care for my mother truly stood out. My husband and I were so impressed with her, and I would recommend her to any facility without hesitation. The food was decent for cafeteria-style meals, and the director of nursing was the one saving grace of this experience”she helped us find a much better facility that was a better fit for my mother.

I want to say that I am forever grateful to Sandy Lake for the excellent care my 101 year old mother has received! Mom says I feel like I’m in a hotel and this is home. I harbor a lot of guilt about nursing homes because I promised her I’d never put her in one and because we’ve had our share of bad ones leaving her with bad PTSD. Sandy Lake has bent over backwards to have mom feel safe and at home. If anything is wrong or they have any questions I get a call! No other nursing facility has done that! They treat my mom like a queen. They wake her up, get her to the dining room, bring her back, take her to activities and get her safely to bed. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sandy Lake Rehabilitation and Care Center to anyone who needs it. It was a game changer for us!

For the past month, I have been volunteering with Mrs. Grace Ezenwa at Sandy Lake Rehabilitation and Care Center, and it has been awesome! From the first day I started volunteering, it was extremely easy to see how much Mrs. Grace loves and cares for the residents and how much they love and care for her! Her activities are all made with careful consideration for all the residents and always has their health and wellbeing as the first of priorities. The administrator, Mr. Jerry Warren is also fantastic! I have never seen an administrator willing to go so far for the residents and on their behalf. When I came to apply to volunteer, Mr. Jerry came, made sure I was taken care of, and proceeded to tell me how needed I was, which truly meant a lot coming from the administrator. Furthermore, he was always available and willing to help me regardless of what his schedule looked like. Similar to Mrs. Grace, it is easy to see the respect and love the residents have for Mr. Jerry. The residents of Sandy Lake Rehabilitation and Care Center are in amazing hands with Mrs. Grace and Mr. Jerry looking after them!

I know enough about medical field and medication and I unfortunately was not quite convinced about they way they were handling. The worse thing is that, whether they do not answer the phone so aren’t available or, if they do the first answer from the front desk is, they are at the meeting. Considering that sometimes it was very important for me to speak to them about my resident. I have to say that some (for sure not all) employees who were working directly with the patients or residents were caring.

We go to Sandy Lake every Friday to play Christian music and fellowship with the residents there. It is one of the highlights of our week. We enjoy not only the residents but also the staff who participate in our service by helping to fill the dinning hall with residents and singing and clapping their hands to the music. God is glorified.The activities director, Grace, makes it all happen. We love her and so do the people who live there. We have a blast every week and at the same time are able to pray for and minister to those who are like family to us. Thank you to Grace and all of the staff at Sandy Lake, we love you! My mother was a resident at Sandy Lake for 3.5 years. We stayed at Sandy Lake in the beginning because of the Rehab group who were very good with her. We then moved into long term care and stayed because of the nursing staff. Firdoushi was our hall nurse and was wonderful to us - always asking if we were ok and I felt I could talk with her anytime and I could call her if I was away and needed to ask a question about my mom. I also appreciated Janet who was assigned to another hall, but she was so stable, reliable and helpful to us. Ella was our nurse the last 6 months before my mom passed and she was awesome.....very kind and caring! I want to give many kudos to Ayo, as he showed soooo much respect and care for my mom - and often went above and beyond his regular duties to tend to mom. Two other workers who were always helpful to us : CNA Agatha and Eugene who works maintenance. Thank you to all the above! The folks who are hands on with the residents are the ones who make the biggest impact!
